Booked a car through an app. Went to come and pick it up and the employee said he doesn’t have any car. He couldn’t tell me which location would have it. I called budget it’s a complain and ask for a location, they gave me a location 14 miles away and wanted double to rent from that area. The whole company just seemed like a hustle. Now I’m stuck 7mi from my hotel and all I got to show for it is a 20$ Uber ride and an ‘I’m sorry’ from the budget rep.

I usually love Budget. However Catonsville MD is an awful location. Dirty vehicles. No selection. Disgusting office.

Budget never refunded us for a prepaid car rental that they would not allow us to pick up. My husband lost the debit card used to make our reservation and they were not willing to let him use other identification to pick up the rental car. We were told wed receive a refund for the prepaid rental fee and that never happened, yet Budget refuses to process the refund despite their employees error in getting it processed the first time. I would not recommend their services!

AVOID THIS PLACE!! DO NOT RENT HERE!! My sister prepaid for a rental car for me so I could pick up my son at college for the holidays. The reservation was under my name and I was going to be the sole driver. We both showed up to pick up the car and I thought all was fine. The customer guy rep asked me for my drivers license and credit card which I properly gave to him. However, when the customer rep asked for the prepaid credit card on file and my sister gave it to him that was when all the problems began. He proceeded to tell me I could not rent a car because the prepaid credit card was under my sisters name and not mine. I asked him why it mattered because they had already taken her money and my sister was there to verify she had paid for it. He just told us it was his policy and he would not do it. He made no attempt to try and solve our problem. We then tried to ask if it was due to a liability or insurance reason. We tried coming up with our own solutions by suggesting he refund my sisters credit card and then charge mine. He told us the only way he would rent the car to me is if I paid an extra $15 to add my sisters name as a driver. Of course, I didnt want to pay this extra fee because my sister only wanted to pay for the rental, she wasnt going to be driving. After much back and forth, it was basically decided unless we paid an extra $15, he would not rent to me or refund my sisters money.After an hour on the phone with corporate and no resolve, I had to leave because the traffic was getting worse. I ended up taking my sisters car with bad brakes and my sister took an UBER home. After more explanation to corporate and filing a complaint against the rep who gave us the worst service, they eventually refunded my sisters money. Unfortunately, the reason why I went there was to rent a reliable car and even though I had a reservation and wanted to pay for a rental car, I still walked out with nothing! CONSUMER BEWARE: Dont try to plan ahead and then get stuck with nothing! Stay away from this place.

Beware: these people who work here are very unprofessional, tried to rent a car with proper ID & credit card & was told that my license were no good, would not give me a reason why & then they tried to charge me $150.00 cancellation fee, I asked for the supervisor which I then was put on hold for 1 hour & still wasnt able to discuss this matter with anyone, she (Indian Lady) promised to put my$150.00 back on my credit card & I am still waiting for my cancellation fee to be put back on my credit card!!!! I reported unauthorized use by Budget Car Rental in Catonsville to my credit card company & they said that they would resolve this matter!!!!

Trashy customer service deficiencies

Piss poor customer service!! AVOID! I made a reservation a week in advance thinking we could leave immediately after picking up the car to head to a family members wedding out of state. There was a sale online if you prepaid for it. I used my husbands card but put it in my brother-in-laws name since he would be picking it up and thought we were all set. At first they told him he couldnt pick up the car because his name didnt match who paid for it. Odd but my husband met him at the place. Only for him to make it all the way there and say neither of them could rent the car because of their credit. 1. Why wasnt this stipulation stated when I made the reservation online? 2. Why didnt they just tell my brother in law that in the first place instead of making my husband come to the location just to be turned down?....Then to make it worst the lady at this location kept stating we could call customer service if we had a problem. Mam! We are standing right here ARE YOU NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE!? Now we have to scramble to get another car elsewhere. poor communication-non transparent policies- terrible customer service!

We had a great experience with this car rental establishment mainly because the proprietor Winney was so kind. Much, much nicer people than at Enterprise up the street. We will certainly use them again and never ever use the Enterprise on Route 40 West!

Clean car. Good service. Did try to charge me for returning the car later than originally stated tho it was within my rental period. On site she adjusted that fee with a smile. Otherwise 5 stars.

I love renting cars from this location. The rates are affordable, the staff is helpful and friendly and the cars they have are clean and fun to drive. Best rental place I have been to (and Ive been to a variety). Love this Budget; its my go-to from now on.

This is a horrible budget. I made reservations about 2 weeks in advance and the day we were suppose to be relocating all of a sudden the truck was not available and now we are delayed on leaving. I do not recommend and the should really think about hiring new staff thats not as rude as the ones Ive spoken to.

This is my second time renting from this location. They were friendly, courteous, and helpful. I have seen bad reviews about this location (and Budget in general) BUT I honestly have no complaints at all. When things go well I tend to repeat it . . . I will definitely use them again.

I made a reservation weeks in advance just to show up and be told that the truck wasnt there. Then i was told to go to Parkville to pick up my truck smh, they tried to charge me the full rate including miles. The truck was dirty, with a check engine light on. Never did a walk around for inspection. Computers were down several days and they had to call other people to do their business.. If I didnt need the truck that day I would have said F that place. Budget customer service for compliants isnt any better. If your gonna move and need a truck.. Penske or next car truck rental is the best way to go. I should have known that from the start.

I rarely give bad reviews , but this place is the WORST ! I had reserved a vehicle , paid and had the confirmation number. I got to the location with my mother to pick up the car , the man who was working had a bad attitude , he was on a personal phone call yelled , refused to serve me at all even tho I already paid ! Then we go through the head ache of having to wait for my refund from the company

Lady was super nice and helpful and didnt screw me and charge me for an extra day for bringing the car back a little late. Would def rent from here again- car wasnt exactly full on had when I got it but after an entire week of driving around, it only cost $25 to fill the tank

Winney was the most amazing rental representative. She searched long and hard and really tried to help in every single way. She pulled off a miracle for us. She surely went above and beyond. 10 stars. Thank you!

Poor customer service, lies about budget policy & practices, stole 600 from me & refused to serve me

The day we moved they called 8 minutes before we were supposed to pick the truck up with no truck there for us. The only reason I gave it 1 star was because i couldnt give it 0We called around to many different locations around Maryland and no one had trucks. Many people were very rude as well. We had paid movers at the house and had to pay them for sitting around. I recommend you dont use this company. They were rude and ignorant.

STOLE MY MONEY then making me beg for it back...pre paid online and looked through all terms and conditions no where did it say about 100 $ deposit which the lady went ahead and ran my card anyways without my permission and after all that found out there was a credit check, then when I canceled the lady had the nerve to tell me that I’m lucky i decided to cancel when I did or else I wouldn’t be getting my 250$ back, so apparently they think it’s ok to steal money from people and not give them a service, couldn’t have been more displeased

Been renting cars from not only this company but from this particular location for about 8 years... never had an issue. Always in and out with fast and friendly service

TERRIBLE SERVICE!! i came in on Monday to reserve a van ( 7 passenger ) & it was supposed to be ready for pick up at 8am on Friday July 13th, they give me a call at 7:50am to tell me the van will NOT be ready for pick up until 2pm. I must be in ocean city by 12pm to pick up our keys. This is utterly ridiculous & the guy there named corey was unbelievably rude, when i asked for his name he hung up on me. this definitely bad business, WHY WHY WHY make reservations if you won’t have the vehicle??

Went through a 30 minute conversation to place a reservation, only to find out that there were no reservations left.There is no excuse for a large company to not have this kind of information immediately available.

Prepaid for a reservation. Upon arrival was told it would be double plus deposit due to their error. Was told my only option was to call after I returned the car so they could try and fix. I ended up having my travel plans messed up because of their bait and switch tactics. Criminals or just negligent but either way a terrible company.

Horrible customer service. If you do choose to rent from this location, be prepared for a very poor experience. Never again.

They are FRAUDS. They give you the car with an empty tank, but put on their paper that it was full and charge you when you bring it back. I even took pictures that had the time and location on details of the photo showing I got the car with empty tank, but the “manager” Daniel he wouldn’t even look at the photo.
