I made a 8:00 a.m. appointment to have engine and passenger compartment air filters replaced, a tune-up and possible wheel alignment.After a discussion with the shop owner, he determined that the only necessary repair was to have the filters replaced. He suggested that the tires only needed balancing. There was no attempt to have me complete unnecessary repairs. The job was completed in less than 1/2 hour.

Efficient, professional and fast. These guys were the saving grace after a rather gruelling road-debris collision I had and needed to get my car towed to a shop. They quickly give me an estimate, replaced my tire and also performed a detailed assessment of what other repairs were needed. They were easy to deal with, explained everything clearly and didnt pressure me into accepting any of the repairs. Highly recommend them!

My car (2006 Volvo V50) was making a rattling noise when I drove forward when it was cold. Jay/ Castro Valley Union 76 diagnosed problem and had it fixed and car ready when promised. I have full confidence that they stand behind their work, are reasonably priced, and its always nice that they know who I am when I call for any reason.

Theyre a real disappointment here at this place for automotive work. I called Prior and ask them if they turn rotors they said sure no problem $20 a piece. then when I get down there they said to press out the bearings will be $20 per bearing to press out. What a bunch of garbage it takes one minute press out each bearing and you going to charge me $20 for each one. So it took my business elsewhere

These guys know what there doing.. have patience..alot going on.. but I have alot of confidence in there ability and customers!! Service!! Ill be customer..and I work on cars..

My Aunt has been coming to Jacks since before I was born (over 30 years lol) and this shop is all tgat I have known for having your car maintained. Everything is fine. Noticed a bouncing noise from engine compartment. Found two electric plugs not connected to there holder just over the leftvalve cover. Secured them and noise went away.

My daughters car broke down on the highway as she was driving back to CO. Jay was extremely polite and helpful and seemed very concerned for her safety. They know cars and continue to be interested in the maintenance of the vehicle even though we dont live in California.

Good prices and the staff here is nice. He even let me use the bathroom. The bathroom could have been better vut at least they had toilet paper and paper towels and there were no towels on the floor like you sometimes see in other gas stations.

My truck broke down and I had AAA tow it to a local AAA approved facility (CV 76 on the Blvd). They diagnosed the problem quickly (broken fuel pump) and performed the repair within a day and my truck was up and running just as good as ever. I will definitely be back.

I recently had an oil change done here and based on the reviews, I felt as though I could trust them. Let me start by saying that I used a coupon (too good to be true) that included the oil change, tire rotation (they definitely did not do as I have a different tire on the rear driver side from the rest and guess what, still there! Ha!). They also were to include a bunch of other things like check my brakes, fill fluids, etc. I also know was not done for a fact as I checked the levels on everything prior and after and I just did the brakes so what they reported was far off in regards to my padding!!!! I assume because I am disabled, a female or because I used a coupon they either took advantage of me to get me to pay the full price plus (ALL ARE ILLEGAL!!!!) as they are definitely overpriced which most even the positive reviews state....and they didn’t stop there!After the oil change (previous and this oil change has always been done on time, just all elsewhere before but point being it was never let past date or miles) they advised me that I have an oil leak and need to pay $130 (the owner, Jack) and then his son, Jay quoted me over $200 to have my engine washed to see where the leak is!!!! I was like, WHAT!?!??As I was in a rush, I did not have time to investigate further but one more thing that they also just simply did not do was reset the sensor light stating needs oil change. That in addition to a slew of other things has definitely confirmed to me that they are not on the up and up! I will also note that when I first went in, they were super nice. Since, extremely rude and unprofessional in a multitude of ways! All I know is I should’ve stuck to the rule of thumb, if it’s too good to be true....well you know the rest! They also only charged an extra I believe $15.00 for synthetic oil which is unheard of! My Trucks synthetic oil is an easy $50 plus!Now I have to deal with all of this! It’s so sad but true with what they say about mechanics! Thank God I have a real trustworthy place where I should’ve just taken my car in the 1st place! A nonsense coupon that they didn’t even truly honor sucked me in! Never again! I encourage all to stay away! Based on the reviews that I now know are not all of there’s but several are related to the actual gas station not the 76 Mechanic Scam I mean shop! I am definitely responding to the random survey call to report everything and I am also going to report them to the BBB should my regular mechanic find something that looks as though it was related to their work as my T is leaking now! Thanks 76! 😡 👎👎👎👎 I wish I could give negative stars on here but it will not allow me!Once more, be aware that a lot of the 5 star ratings are not even related to them but rather the actual gas station on site! Had my car towed there and diagnosed. Then, had it towed back home. Everything was great until I went into my little change compartment to retrieve a $20 bill and discovered it was missing. These individuals had possession of my vehicle for approximately 24 hours. My car and person effects have been compromised. I called the station immediately after I discovered the missing money. I cant help but feel violated and concerned that other items may have been removed, as well. It is my hope that Jack will make this right. Horrible taste left in my mouth. I just moved to this town and I can safely say I will cross this business off my list of places to give any more of my hard earned money to.

Made me wait forever for an estimate then wanted to charge an absurd $700 for an a/c recharge having to just plug in a couple hoses. Got the job done for $250 at Nicks in San Leandro.

They do good work but they are a bit overpriced.At the time they charged me a $100 diagnostic fee (they are up front about it) but it was just frustrating because I have an Automatic attached to my car that told me the code ahead of time so it felt like I was getting charged the $100 fee for exactly what I told them it would be. This is NOT deducted from your charge if you choose to do the repair there.Overall I would have paid much less elsewhere but the customer service was good and the time for repair was not bad as well, they are just a bit on the expensive side.

My old beater of a cars air conditioning didnt work since the car was passed down to me. I brought it here to have the Air Conditioner checked out. My car is so old that finding a mechanic or auto repair shop with the right freon thats compatible, is nearly impossible. I was referred to this repair station by a friend of one of my brothers whose been helping out my family for years.After successfully making contact with Jack and was scheduling an appointment for that very same week, it was a good feeling! Same week service, ha ha! In my conversation with Jack, he explained what his crew would be doing to my car and how long it would take. He needed about an hour to charge and test it.When I arrived right on time for my rescheduled appointment, Jack was at the front desk. I dont know about anyone else, but I dont look at someones shirt when asking for a person, I look at the persons face. But when I walked in, I asked for Jack and he pointed to his embroidered name on his shirt and said something snarky, but funny snarky, it made me giggle. He was spot on with the time it took for his crew to charge the A/C, during the time they worked on my car, they had found another issue with the vents on the interior part of my car. At first, it was going to cost $100 for them to find out why only the drivers side vent was blowing out air, but when I arrived one of his crew members had fixed it! Yay!It wouldnt have been so bad if they hadnt, at least it was the drivers side vent that was working. Ha! Anyhow, I would return to have Jack and his team work on my car. All the estimates Jack gave me were near to exact, from the time it would take to work on my vehicle, to the total costs. Jack was helpful, he was really direct (which I appreciate), he has a sense of humor and he was knowledgeable. Very thankful he was able to help me, by giving me back the use of my air conditioning.
