Cut my sons hair too short even after being reminded throughout the haircut. Scratched my sons head during the shampooing that she asked if she could do while using hotter water than he liked . When he asked her “Can you make it not so hot please and you are hurting my scalp “ she responded with “ok” but did nothing. Horrible Horrible experience. Shockingly this is the first bad experience at the Carbondale Illinois store. Unpleasant enough to not want to return. All the while never mentioned that she was charging an additional fee for the shampoo . It wasn’t until I got the amount due which by that time was too late.

I always enjoy coming here but today a newer stylist (Jessica) was so outstanding. I just didnt go out happy with my hair style but felt great from her head and shoulder massage. I would definitely recommend her as well as any of the ladies here. Thanks again Jessica for an extraordinary experience today. 😁

After checking in when I got there I sat there for ten minutes. I was the only customer in there at that time. The three stylist just stood at the counter talking to each other. After ten minutes of ignoring me other customers came in that had “registered online”. They immediately called them back. That’s when I got up walked out. I’ll spend my money somewhere else where they appreciate your business.

I took my son here and had a very vague idea of what I wanted. I explained my issues with styling his hair and the stylist knocked it out of the park. She gave him the best cut hes ever had, showed me how to style it, and made it super easy to manage.

I have visited this Sport Clips previously and I feel like there has been times where I have had to wait for over an hour to just to get my haircut. Then when I tell the stylist what I wanted, they did not seem super confident that they could do it. I would kindly preferred to be told they could not do it, rather them give a try and mess it up my hair. I know it will grow back but my love for this place won’t. For that reason I won’t be back anytime soon.

Haircut was the exact opposite of what we asked for: hair long on top, shorter on the sides, bangs not too short. Thats what we wanted. What we received: very short bangs, hair basically the same length as over, top short and all his length hed been growing cut off the top. We will not be back. Its like the lady only knew one way to cut hair, so dont bother asking for anything different. Very dissatisfied.

Sport Clips Carbondale offers top-notch service. Ive been to a few different locations and none compare to the service provided by the Carbondale staff. The last couple times Ive gone in for a hair cut, Jess was my stylist. Both times, I got haircuts that knocked me outta the park. 5/5 Stars, would go again.

I have been coming to sports clips for thw past 3 years. I have had good experiences but mostly average or poor. Today I went in and got the MVP. The lady cut my hair, washed it, hot towel and massage... once I got home I noticed i have hair still around my ears where she didnt trim it up and ths massage litterly only lasted 15 seconds. Ill never get an MVP again. Past issues I have had is them have. So many stylist in and out that I can never establish a normal person and everyone cuts hair differently. Most of the time they mess it up some how some way. Im just becoming more and more less pleased with this place. So ill head into the bathroom and finish trimming up my hair

I absolutely love the experience I had at Sports Clips. Actually everytime I come here for my son, I have a nice experience. Ceaira cut his hair very carefully, paying attention to details, and afterwards washed his hair. She was very nice to my son, personable, and had excellent customer skills. I will return and want her to cut my sins hair again!

Whats the point of on-line check in when you dont adhere to it and you arrive when the APP says and the stylist takes someone else and it then pushes your time back to 53 minutes after you already checked in for 121 minutes to arrive?

This happened around this time last year, I had completely forgotten about it until I saw a Facebook memory that brought it back up and it infuriated me again. I never leave reviews especially bad ones about any place ever but around October last year me and my husband went here to get his haircut the lady did a wonderful job, I sat in the waiting area and watched him get his haircut. We were beyond happy with the outcome and when leaving the lady even wished me a happy early birthday because my birthday was the next day. Fast forward to December of last year my husband went back to get his haircut again, the second time of EVER being there, the first being in October and they told him he was banned from there and had to leave before the cops were called because an employee filed a claim saying he harassed them. My husband literally had been to this location once not counting the time he was kicked out. He has never harassed any employee and when he tried to get some kind of information because he had no clue what was going on they said they weren’t allowed to give it. I have absolutely never heard of this happening anywhere ever, it was insane. My husband is also not very sociable so to be kicked out of a place when he barely even speaks to anyone at all and him of all people accused of harassing someone is ludicrous. One year later and it’s still a mystery why he’s banned from there.

My dad took my son there to get his hair cut. I had previously called and was told that they knew how to do African American hair. Apparently they do not, I will never take him there again.

It was very clean. The scissors and comb sterilized and wrapped in a towel. I stopped going there because the television is extremely loud. That is my only reason for never going back.

We take the 13 year old grandson here and have done so for a few years. He is always happy with the hair cut he receives. 1the shop is very clean. Ample seating. They take appointments, or just drop by. They are priced right. This cheap old grandpa doesnt grumble about the price. I recommend them. I would use them, but being mostly bald the wife can cut mine.

The ladies who work at Sports Clips are always so wonderful. They dont just do chit chat, they will talk to your level and really listen if you start talking. They engage in conversation and even provide helpful tips, suggestions and opinions as they fix you up. My only true issue with this place is the popularity, which unfortunately makes wait times sometimes a full on committment for the day. If you really need your hair trimmed and just have to be at Sport Clips, Id recommend setting aside a time block and calling in advance, otherwise you might be stuck lingering for a little too long.

They charge $10 extra just for having hair past your shoulders. That is ridiculous, I would understand if I was having my hair dyed but for just a trim it does not take any longer to cut hair past the shoulder vs. hair slightly above the shoulder. I also received a coupon in the mail stating free haircut for new clients and they would not honor this, said it would only cover the $10. I have never heard of a salon that charges more for longer hair that is ridiculous.

These girls are great. Jessica and Shelby both give a great haircut, but offer much more in the form of good conversation and company. The staff is what really sets this location apart from the rest. If only I didnt move away, this would still be my go to place for great company and a great haircut

I love sports clips!! I have been taking my boys there after my oldest sons first hair cut when he was a year old. I tried a local barber shop first and was very disappointed. When I took him to sports clips to get it fixed I meet a lady that took wonderful care of him and fixed the mess the other barber had done. I have been taking my boys to sports clips for 8 years now and I will continue. The friendliness and comfort is amazing!

It was my first time even considering a franchise like sportclips the establishment in carbondale Illinois of course I had plenty of questions there was two girls working an one I guess was manger well she acted like she was running the store I remember her saying welcome to sportclips an reading her name tag which said Clarissa as she met me at the register so I told her it was my first time i had a wedding i was attending the following day for a fellow firefighter me being a carbondale firefighter myself she acted as if It was bothersome me asking questions about things she was extremely rude an unprofessional had a awful attitude towards me being curious about what exactly a double MVPs was, she acted as it was more of annoyance this after her knowing it was the first an now last time i didnt even want to get my hair cut done there after that I will never consider a establishment like sportclips again after being treated like I was a bothersome nuisance. I was kind of take back her knowing I was local and in emergency management could have referred plenty of brother an sisters in the work force I definitely hope they fix or train there manager to have a little more consideration an respect toward customer especially locals I will not recommend anyone here unless they like feeling belittled an more of a nuisance then a future customer

This place is as classy as Walmart. Being a life long local I can say this. If they did drug testing they would lose a few 100%.

Just moved here for school, trying to find a new place to get haircuts at. This SportsClips location is what I was looking for! Very friendly staff, and obviously all the awesome sports stuff we hear about them on the radio are true (TVs everywhere, showing different sports). If you have a bad first experience (like I did), just let them know. They wont give up on you, and theyll make sure to get everything done perfectly the next time around. Give em a shot!

The wait times here are ridiculous. We have been sitting here for over an hour and our wait time continues to go up. Ridiculous!! And why the hell is there only 2 people cutting hair? We used to love this place, wait times used to be minimal, use to have several people cutting hair, what happened?

If you have long hair, don’t come here. It costs $23 for a trim on medium-long hair. That doesn’t included a wash or style. That is ridiculous in my opinion...my boyfriends hair now looks worse then when he went in...

The staff is always very polite and they do a great job with kids. Our wait time is usually very short and my boys really enjoy the atmosphere and how well they are treated.

I can go in and get a consistent, reliable cut. They keep all of my preferences saved in the computer so that I dont have to walk them through it every time. I have yet to have a bad cut and the prices are reasonable. Avoid the busy hours, which can be seen on Google Maps. Or plan for the 30-60 minute wait by signing in and then running to the stores nearby to get some errands done or grab a bite to eat.My only knock on the place is not the fault of the employees, who are always working hard and doing a good job. I just wish that the suits at HQ didnt force them to greet everyone walking in while theyre in the middle of a cut. We can be mid-conversation and they have to cut it off to say WELCOME TO SPORTCLIPS or they likely get in trouble. The company should also hire a receptionist during the busy hours in the afternoon because they have to stop cutting hair to go check people in all the time. Again, not their fault, but rather the fault of some idiots in an office who think they know better.
