The only reason I am giving 2 stars, instead of one, is because Joelle was a great therapist. The problem we had was with Cindy, a np. If I was not there to witness what my daughter went through I would not have believed it. My daughter is having severe depression and anxiety. Cindy was very rude to her. She felt like she was being interrogated by Cindy. She is not a sympathetic person and needs to go back to school to learn how to deal with her patients. My daughter was so upset she left her computer, they werent meeting in person, and went into her bedroom. I then started talking to Cindy. I am a very patient person. Well Cindy was so rude to me that I did lose my patience. I called the office to let them know what happened. My daughter was worse after the appointment with her. Yes, she did stop taking her meds. A lot of people with issues do. Cindy was mad at her for not calling her and telling her. If Cindy was a kinder person she would have. Sounds like Dr. Sue is good. Wish we had her. Sorry Joelle, that this did not work out. My daughter has insurance and will be going elsewhere.

We are so thankful for this place and for everyone who works over there. Dr. Susan Hook is the best. The staff is always polite and super helpful. They are a blessing to my whole family. My youngest daughter does therapy with Pastor Joel and she loves it. She says he is the best. Since she started the therapy she’s less depressed and he helps her a lot with her though process. She always looks forward to the next visit. Thank you so much for your hardworking and for being a blessing.

While I would highly suggest some of the people at Samaritan, if you are going to see a nurse practitioner, dont bother. My sister, who has severe social anxiety and may suffer from bipolar disorder saw Cynthia, a nurse practitioner, who did nothing but interrogate my sister and yell at her. My mother took over at that point and Cynthia had the nerve to laugh at my mother when my mother asked her if she was a Christian. This is supposed to be a Christian organization? My sister admitted to Cynthia that she had gone off of her meds. Cynthia demanded to know when my sister had stopped taken her medications and my sister honestly did not remember (which anyone who has taken a Psych 101 course would know that people who are bipolar are prone to going off their medication on and off). Cynthia then accused her of lying and basically told my sister that she should try harder to become a productive member of society. There are more details, but I am reserving those for the formal complaint I am sending in an attempt to have her license to practice revoked. Thankfully my sister was not suicidal as it could have gone very differently. This woman is a danger. Do not let her interact with your loved ones if you care about their wellbeing. Saluscare has better staff members when compared to this woman.

We love Dr. Sue Hook. She is amazing and very caring. However, her “Nurse” Justine is one of most disrespectful, rude people in a professional capacity I’ve ever encountered. The rest of the the office staff is very nice. They do continue to make excuses for Justine’s unprofessional behavior. Otherwise, I highly recommend them and the whole ministry of Samaritan. My only hope is that Justine can change her attitude and learn how to treat ALL their patients with love and patience.

I recently moved to Cape Coral, FL for nursing school and part of the entrance requirements were to get a physical, TB Test and vaccinations. I visited CVS Minute Clinic because I knew I could walk in without an appointment and their pricing was reasonable without medical insurance. During the appointment, we noticed that my blood pressure was a little high. Mary, the Nurse Practitioner, recommended Samaritan Health & Wellness, as a primary provider, because they offered affordable pricing for those without medical coverage.I made an appointment with Cindy Marshall, a family nurse practitioner, at Samaritan Health & Wellness. During my visit, she was down to earth and had a great sense of humor. I could easily tell she loves what she does! It shows in her patient care and demeanor. She also sent my prescription to Publix, where she knew it would be free!! She went above and beyond for me and I know she will do the same for others. I highly recommend Samaritan Health & Wellness to anyone currently without medical insurance in the Cape Coral/Fort Myers, FL area.

This doctors office charged me 15 dollars for missing a appointment during a already difficult time. This establishment is taking advantage of people when they are struggling the most. Disgusting and disappointing to say the least thank goodness word of mouth is still the greatest source of information and advertising

We really needed some counseling to start a healing process and get some guidance. We made the appointment, went to appointment and was told they wouldnt see us because we werent married. I understand this is a Christian based organization, but as a person with my degree in Religion it really floored me that they would turn away a couple seeking help and healing. The very name, Samaritan, should be the purpose of the place but instead of being good Samaritans, they judged us and turned us away. I guess it was for the best because I wouldnt want to get help and guidance from such non Jesus following people.

I would like to say the office manager she is very caring and sympathetic and gave me some good ideas and handled my issues I had. I have very complicated health issues and it’s overwhelming and has been since I moved to the Cape Coral area to help take care of my 62 year old mother and it has been overwhelming establishing new health care due to my illnesses and disability. I literally was at my end of my rope between basically drs not understanding or even knowing how to treat me or their fear to and I will not take any normal pain meds like opiates and there’s a lot of meds I cannot take. The front office staff as well was very empathetic and caring. I think the PA is overwhelmed but when she can take the time and put herself in the patients shoes she can be outstanding. She didn’t understand my illness vascular ehlers Danlos syndrome and didn’t understand that piriformis syndrome refers only to when your piriformis muscle irritates your sciatic nerve. Additionally, your piriformis muscle is not located in your lumbar spine, but rather in your buttock. Therefore, strictly speaking, piriformis syndrome is not the same thing as sciatica and how it affects EDS patients differently due to our collagen disorder however she was willing to look over my records she said and help.

I have been going to this practice off and on for over 3, maybe 4 years. I will not be returning to this practice. It’s sad. It’s not just the provider that makes or breaks a patient/provider relationship, it’s also the staff. I called the office on Tuesday 1/16 due to extremely elevated blood sugar issues. When i finally received a call back, the medical assistant, Daisy, asked me why i had bothered to check it in the first place, who i had borrowed a glucose meter from and proceeded to inform me that I am probably a diabetic. I am a diabetic, i own a glucose meter, i am well aware of my medical issues. Daisy dismissed my issues and would not listen to my concerns and abruptly ended the call with an “I’ll call you tomorrow”. The following day, my blood sugar was even higher, and at a very dangerous level. I had to call the office again because she never called as she said she would. I encountered a lady by the name of Maris, who treated me like a second rate citizen, would not allow me to explain my situation and even though my blood sugar was dangerously high, she refused to allow me to speak to anyone. When i insisted that i needed to talk to someone, she said “you can wait on hold until someone comes out of the room”. I finally was able to get a call returned by Daisy, who at that point informed me that she had been “too busy all day long to give Dr Sue any of the messages from any patients”. She then told me that her (daisy) recommendation was that i need to take some meds, which i am not able to take. When i again told her of my issues and reactions to that medication, she stated that i can take half. (I didn’t know that an MA has the ability to make decisions for a patient) she then stated that she was going to talk to the provider that next day, and call me back. She never called. I found another practice, where i was seen immediately due to the dangerous increase in blood sugars and was given meds. Today, 1/19/2018, i received a call from Daisy who said that i would have to wait until my February visit to get meds to control my blood sugar. I informed her that i would not be needing her advice or any following appointments because i decided to go elsewhere for care. She then got very defensive and at that point i explained to her that the issue that i was having could very well have led me to have a stroke or fall into a diabetic coma due to her lack of concern. She continued to argue and speak over me, which led me to say, “BYE DAISY” and hung up. I hope that other patients are treated with more kindness and are given proper care when it is truly needed. I am surprised that a place like this allows patients to be treated this way and allows their staff to give such a poor example of what the ways of Christ truly are.

The mental health services here are useless. Both for adults and kids. Very bad experience. JC is turned me away in a crisis and cancelled my appt. Didn’t suggest any other options except sorry we can’t help you. What if my crisis had lead me to suicide!!?? I was assessed by the intern AND I see the dr. Which by the way... is REQUIRED to get mental health assistance here!!! Not a psychiatrist-their doctor. It’s ridiculous!!The is a very poor resource for assistance or even to get resources from. Worse than public health department. :(

My husband and I are full time campers--I called to get a re-fill on a prescription I have been taking for years. It took approx. 1-1/2 weeks to get it re-filled out of state and then it was incorrect. I fail to see why it would take so long to re-fill one prescription. I had to call Samaritan several times and so did Walmart !! Get your act together people !! Looking for a new doctor.
