Im a very satisfied regular at Jakes. Today I stopped to see if a technician could retrieve the key fob I dropped between the drivers seat & the center console. Pete, the manager, followed me to my car in the lot, reached down and accomplished in 30 seconds what my wife & I failed to do in 30 minutes - retrieve the fob. No charge. When I tried to leave a tip, Pete waved me off. Professional & affordable service always bring me back to Jakes. The people make it truly special.

Great business! I’ve taken my car here a couple times, but most recently had an issue with my car starting. we got my car jumped and took it to Jake’s and explained that we really just wanted to get our car to a mechanic because we were afraid we wouldn’t get it to start again. We told them we had no time constraints and whenever they can get it done will be such a help. They helped immediately and it was done the same day. I highly recommend their business!

I am having a problem with my car. I do not know cars and did not know the name of what is causing the problem. The guy behind the glass refused to service my car. Wouldnt the better option have been to offer to drive my car to see what was wrong? What has happened to customer service?

Jakes saved the day. It was 4:30, 30 minutes prior to closing. Had a battery failure and called to see if they might have an Interstate battery in stock I could pick up. Leah (sp?) said, would you like us to install? I said, I am still 10 minutes away and know youre closing. She said, just get here and we will take care of it for you. I arrived and they were ready with battery on a cart and tech went right to work. Talk about service! If you need service and are in the are, give them a call.

I have used Jakes in the past, many years ago. Today however, we went to have my step sons car worked on. He had an appointment at 10 a.m. this morning. We did not hear anything from Jakes, so we went by the shop to see what was going on. They had not even looked at his car and it was 2.:00 pm He uses his car for work. Today was his day off and the only time he could get it into the shop. When he dropped it off they did not say anything about having a line of cars ahead of him. They did not say that there would be a delay in having the car looked at. I am not happy with Jakes, The man at the front acted like we were out of line for expecting the car to be looked at today.

Just called to get a quote on a brake job, and the woman wouldnt listen to me when I told her that I just wanted the pads replaced and then she hung up on me. Totally rude!!

Now that my Lexus is no longer under warranty I opted to try this automotive shop for both convenience and economics. It was recommended by several people in my community so it seemed like a good time to step away from the dealership. Wow, was I pleasantly surprised! The service was perfect and the opportunity to speak directly with the specialist who worked on my car was ideal. I had made an appointment for service and everything went smoothly. From the service team to the receptionist (?), they were professional and helpful. I will go back for all my routine needs to keep my car running well. Very reasonably priced. I highly recommend this business.

These people are wonderful, do a great job, and are extremely fair.If you like more details: I’ve had to change mechanics due to a job location change and decided to try Jake’s our based on recommendations from coworkers. I’ve used them for an oil change, new tires (very fairly priced compared to tire store previously used), and recently had to drop my vehicle off for axle work. I have an older vehicle so one of the parts wasn’t going to be in for a few days (there was also a weekend involved). Jake’s had a loaner vehicle available for me to use so my life was not disturbed. How many auto shops can boast about this type of treatment for its customers these days? The mechanic, Matt, was very detailed in his work and Leah kept me updated on everything that was going on with my vehicle. They returned my vehicle to me once it was repaired, they were satisfied it was not making any noises, and it was safe to drive. The repair bill was very fairly priced.Bottom line: I highly recommend this auto shop to my family, friends, and you.

Truly appreciate how kind everyone is at this location. I had an emergency right across the street, and they immediately assisted me. I was clearly frazzled, and they even helped calm me down. I just called this place to do a simple repair (o2 sensor module) on my car and the guy who answered (pretty sure he was the owner) was a complete jackass in tone and also said he wouldnt do work on my car because it was too old (2003) despite having previously worked on it. Learn some customer service! My entire family and I have been going here for years but that is sure to change.

Over decades, Jakes has built a reputation for honest service at a fair price. They perform no service that is not needed or required; totally up front and honest about what your vehicle really needs. It is not easy to find service centers not trying to add to the bill, but I have found that Jakes actually tell you something you thought needed service, does not. They have maybe 20 bays for vehicles, which, on any given day, may be filled, which is a reflection on their service, so make an appointment and your vehicle will be serviced in a timely fashion.

We are from Kentucky, in town on vacation and got a nail stuck in one of our tires. The guys at Jakes saw us immediately, patched the hole and sent us on our way without charging us a dime. So thankful!!

I recently got a great deal on a used very low mileage Porsche boxster that only had a few things to fix. Jakes really did a great job on fixing its power windows and its convertible soft top closing mechanism. I would highly recommend these guys for a top notch job on auto repair.

Oh man where do I start...These people try to overcharge then take Misc pieces from your car and mess your car up even more. I will never let them touch my car again or refer them to anyone. Please don’t go there. You will have more problems than before 😒

When I got a huge bolt in my tire & AAA was telling me there was about a 3 hour wait to get help, I pulled out my smart phone and Googled repair shops around me and Jakes Automotive popped up! I couldnt have been more thrilled to drive very slowly to their shop & they got me in right away, plugged my tired and I was back on the road in less than 30 minutes! Very nice, professional & clean automotive center! Highly recommend if youre in the Bradenton area and need service!

Jakes is one of the best , very professional I was visiting from NC and had a leaky radiator. I was in at 10 :30 and the repair was done and I was on my way by 2 the same afternoon. People can deny service. Thats fine. My car was a bit messy. I would have cleaned it out if I had known my head gasket was gonna blow on my way to work. My bad (1 small garbage bag laTer it was clean). I even apologized to them when I brought it in. But to get a call 4 hours later informing me that they wouldnt even look at it cause of the mess in a nasty tone was just not called for. I dont know if the tone was on purpose or just how the person I was speaking to normally speaks. Im a New Yorker...I know gruff and to the point....but...Its not what you say...its how you say it. Reading the reviews them denying service isnt anything new. Had one good experience with Jakes...they know their stuff...but compassion goes along way with me. Taking my business and new to me car elsewhere.

Called Tuesday 1/24/15 & spoke with a gentleman who asked what I needed. After explaining the issue with my car, ( alignment, rotate & oil change), he says what makes you think you need an alignment? I replied it pulls slightly to the left. I was going to have the front pads done as well but when I pulled the front wheel to inspect the pads the were fine however two of the lug nut studs broke off in the process, (possabily do to over torque or cross threading from Tire shop who last installed the tires), so I replaced them as well as the lug nuts themselves with dealer new parts. He told me he will not look at the car? When I pressed the issue just wanting a rotation of the tires he quickly interrupted me & said were not interested & dont want to even take the job!As it is undeniably there prerogative as to what job they take on and 100% up to them to refuse work, I totally get it...However, although Im not an ASC certified auto technician, its difficult to imagine lug nut studs having anything to do with an alignment? Wouldnt it have been better & safer for me to bring it in at the very least & pay for an inspection at which time they can refuse to do the work explaining to me what the problem is? I think it was very rude & shows poor customer service when a representative of a business gets short with a potential client & offers no explanation for the refusal. Gladly Gettel Automotive of Lakewood Ranch had me come down & had it all done the same day with no objections. All the work is guaranteed & they inspected other parts of the car as well offering possable upcoming issues whitch will need to be addressed soon. Sad to see Jakes Automotive puts a low priority on standard customer service, very sad.

I called ahead, made an appointment for Tuesday, it was the Thursday before. I inquired about the make of my car being a Fiat. I got a call the following Thursday stating nothing he could do b/c its a Fiat. Had to get another tow, 40 miles to my dealership! Thank God for AAA deluxe!
