Best Auto service I ever had. Wish I could give this 10/5 stars. I had punctured a hole in my tire. I called around and every shop in the Bowie area told me 2-3 days to fix a hole. I called the Auto Tech Car Care shop and they were able to bring me in right away. I only waited 10-15 minutes and the tire was fixed! The guy at the front desk offered us ice cold water and free snacks while we waited. One of the best experiences I’ve had having a tire repaired. I highly recommend this establishment.

Auto Tech Car Care was highly recommended to me by friends and family. I was greeted at the window by Max, and immediately knew that I was in good hands. I left my car overnight, and was called first thing the next morning with a quote. The gentleman on the phone explained everything to me clearly, and in terms that I understood. An auto repair business can be judged best by the honesty of the management to tell the truth about repairs. I wanted to purchase a truck that Auto Tech had on their lot for sale which was previously owned by a customer.After a successful test drive with the owner, I agreed to purchase the truck on an agreed upon price. However, it was found that the AC wasnt blowing cold and he agreed to charge it overnight.The next day when I returned to leave a deposit, David the owner, said that his team detected a leak in the compressor and that part was expensive. He agreed to install the compressor at no charge for labor.He told me that he could not honestly sell me the car at the discounted price without adding back in the cost of the AC compressor.Rather than sell me a car with an expensive compressor problem, he was willing to forego the sell.I thanked him for his honesty and told him he had a customer for life for his honesty and full disclosure.I have bought a lot of lemons over the years. This could have been a situation that created an expensive cost of ownership for me down the line.I asked that he look out for another vehicle that may come available and I have confidence that Ill be treated with honesty and respect for any service that the vehicle may need. I will also use Auto Tech for service on my current vehicle.Ive been disappointed with other shops in the area for their lack of attention to customer service. Its ironic that I found Auto Tech while looking for a truck to purchase.

Best mechanics i have ever found. They are honest and upfront with pricing and what your car ACTUALLY needs. We have been going to them for years, and they really do treat you like family. I cannot recommend them enough.

I went to them because they are certified installers for JASPER ENGINES, to get help with an ECM problem that I caused. A lot of places wouldnt touch a vehicle because of the multitude of problems that could arise from these conditions that my issue presented. Others would have seen $$ and ran with it, throwing money in different directions. Not these guys. They honestly sought the solutions that ended up with me driving away smiling and costing me a price that was more than reasonable. Thanks Greg and Mike for your help in rectifying the engine computer programming issue that I caused.

This place is awesome! They not only fixed my breaks and made my truck feel brand new but everyone was so nice and accommodating. The normal protocol is to drop off your vehicle and they call you once it’s ready to be picked up but I didn’t have a ride home so they let me hang out in their really nice lobby and use the WiFi to do some work. I almost didn’t want to leave!

Had a vibration felt in the front brakes of my 08 Honda Accord and heard good things about Auto Tech so I gave them a try. They checked the front and rear brakes and said they still have a year to go. but since I felt a vibration maybe the rotors were warped so I had them replace the pads & rotors now anyway which made it all better. Its nice to find a place that doesnt push un-needed repairs and their price was fair also. A+++

They have been great at getting my car back on the road very quickly. Usually if I bring the car in early they can have it ready by the end of the day. Sometimes they are busy and that is not always possible, but most of the time they are very fast. The cost for repairs is great and seems very fair.

A little late on my review, but I had used auto tech car care back in October for a motor replacement. I was satisfied with their work and the customer service so I decided to take my vehicle back to them in March. Prior to taking it over the second time, I asked them to look at my suspension to confirm it was good to go, but I needed it back the same day. They agreed they could complete the task if I brought it to them at 8 am. I took a day off work to have this completed. They contacted me at 9-9:30 saying I needed a new wheel bearing and it would cost me $105 to hook it up to their machine, plus $350 for my wheel bearing, which had to be ordered. Cool, not a big deal and they reassured me it would be completed that day. 3pm rolls around and I haven’t heard back from them so I call and they say they received the wheel bearing and it’ll be completed, but the had other vehicles in the bay. I get a call back at 5:45 stating they received the wrong wheel bearing and my truck wouldn’t be done until the next day. They’re lack of “priority” cost me another half day of work. They told me they would make up for the inconvenience, but still charged me over $700 for the repair. I will not use them or recommend them to anyone again.

I got home from work and realized I had a screw in my tire which was loosing air rapidly. I called and spoke with Brian and immediately knew I wanted to take my car to them due to his GREAT customer service skills and kindness. Due to the fact that it was 5pm and they were closing, I planned on leaving my car for them to work on the next day. When we got there, Brian looked at the tire and was able to plug the tire without even putting it on a lift. He then said, There you go! Have a good night! with no charge to us for his generosity. VERY happy with Brian and Auto Tech! Highly recommend taking your car there!

I have used this auto repair facility many times and received satisfactory results. However, this time I took my car there to eliminate a noise I heard emanating from the engine compartment. They told they fixed this problem, after replacing several parts. After I had paid for it, and drove the vehicle home, I noticed they had not eliminated the noise, and in fact, it was louder. The mechanic apologized and agreed to repair it at no charge. When I picked up my car, I was informed I had to pay for the new part. The mechanic said he never agreed to fix it for free. A person waiting in the office overheard our discussion, and began harassing me. I left the office, and came back about five minutes later. In the parking lot, the mechanic suggested we discuss this matter in private, in an alley between the garage and office. I declined. He then said he would not charge for the repair, and gave back the keys. I went inside to collect the receipt, and left.

We have three cars and have been regular customers for over 20 years. I send all my female friends to Auto Tech because the owner and mechanics are honest about what needs to be repaired. In addition, they look for other things that need repair which I appreciate because it keeps the cars running well with no possibility of breakdown. While I can get less expensive service other places, I dont know whether the business is trustworthy. At Auto Tech, I just leave my car, tell them what I want, and get the best service available. I have a good relationship with this business and will continue to use them for a long, long time.

The tech at the reception area was a bit condescending when I asked if he could quote a price (labor) for installing a part I supplied and wanted replaced (no implied warranty, simple labor). He equated it to bringing your own steak to Outback and sent me on my way. I recognize the personality as what Ive experienced at other shops and know​ better. I cant speak for the shop in general but a terrible first impression, nonetheless.

Auto Tech Car Care goes above and beyond for its customers, I recommended it to my friend, who could only come in after hours, David graciously agreed to putting in the extra time to work with her schedule for a decent price. The customer service is impeccable and treats their customers as family and the owners are very accommodating in every way they can be. I have had now had tires and a 100K maintenance done through these guys. They are professional and courteous. It was Friday, I had no appointment and was from out of state. The owner was kind enough to put my car up on a lift, saw what was wrong and fixed it. My sister and I waited outside and chatted with a few workers, who were so nice and friendly. The whole shop -- from the man on the phone to the employees to the owner -- everyone was professional and helpful. My boyfriend has had extensive work done there -- same result: professional, no-nonsense, good price, honest. Kindly open up another shop in South Jersey. You guys are wonderful!

Details for Jim Van Dams low rating: Auto tech was chosen because of good reviews and pictures of equipment seen on website. Dropped off a 2009 Toyota Tacoma to repair a slow leak in LF tire, and was told it was not repairable and had to be replaced. Not sure if they actually checked for a leak or just condemned the tire due to weather checking and some channel cracking. Since the tires were getting close to replacement time anyway, had them install 4 new tires. Also asked them to diagnose the tire pressure monitoring system. They called and said the right rear sensor was dead and gave a quote for replacement. I okayed the sensor replacement. When they called after work was completed, they said another pressure sensor was needed. Did they miss that when diagnosing the system, or was one accidentally damaged during tire replacement or just making a little more profit? I figured stuff happens and all the sensors were original from the factory. Not a big deal. I was a bit concerned when they charged for tire valve replacement since they are part of the pressure sensor in this case and cannot be replaced. Just an oversight by the service writer? Possibly. Again no big deal. They also said one of the wheels was slightly bent and most likely would not be able to find another factory wheel, so all 4 must be replaced if desired. Once more, no concern because the last time tires were replaced, was told one wheel was slightly bent and never had a problem. ( they cover their butts I would too) So far all is good.The bad starts when driving on I-50 and the truck starts vibrating and gets worse as speed increases. Also the steering wheel shaking back and forth. I was totally disappointed, I did not expect to have a problem from this shop. Called them and got the expected reply. it is because of the bent wheel but Bring it Back and we will re check it Dropped it off again. they didnt call until about an hour before they closed. When picked up, was told the vibration was caused by the bent wheel on the right rear and nothing could be done about it. ( I was a mechanic for over forty years and I can guarantee a slightly bent wheel on the rear will not cause steering wheel shimmy.) Also there was no vibration with the old tires which were never re balanced again after installation. I also noticed none of the visible balancing weights were changed. I suspected they did not even re check the balance. Next drive on I-50 showed no improvement. Took it to another shop to check the balance, they found the left front tire to be off by three ounces. Test drove after they re balanced all the tires and had no vibration. Did Auto Tech forget to balance one tire or just trying to sell wheels? They could have had a very good customer. I guess they dont need any repeat business.

I used these guys several times on the recommendation from an old coworker who happens to live in Bowie, same as me. The place is nice and Im sure they do good work, dont get me wrong, but I think they go overboard on price and unnecessary work, and theyre customer service peeved me a few times. Every time I took my car or truck in there for something simple (like a fan-belt replacement or tires), it would always cost more than it should, and there would generally be something else that needed to be fixed that I hadnt planned on. The last time I used them (probably over a year ago now), I asked if he could work with me on price, since the work needing to be done was over-budget for what I had planned (yet again). I was thinking maybe postpone some of the work, or investigate alternative fixes, or even a returning-customer discount. The guys only response was well my mechanics have got to eat, which was completely rude, somewhat embarassing--like I was trying to gyp the mechanics or something, and the mechanics could hear our conversation--and irrelevant to my question. On another occasion, I had a flat tire, and I took it to them for repair since they installed my tires. To my delight, they said they could repair it first thing while I waited, in a matter of minutes. So I took my dog on a walk and came back 30-45 minutes later, only to find they hadnt even started on it. I asked about it, and they finally plugged the tire, a full 2 hours after they originally agreed to do it right away, while I waited. Every mechanic makes mistakes and has off days. These folks simply had too many strikes with me. I wont go back, even though theyre just down the road. Sorry!

Honest service. Their goal seems to be repairing your vehicle and getting you back on the road. They have repaired my H1 Hummer, Honda, 2002 Chrysler Honda Ridgland all with great results.

Excellent Service To a MD Newcomer!Just moved to MD from FL Oct 14; I stopped by ATCC on way home to check out a possible Honda Accord battery issue. I was looking for a car service to tow my car, in case the battery didn’t work in the extreme cold. Daily in my commute I watched ATCC move American and Foreign cars in and out of their business efficiently. In business since 2002, I cold called on a Mon pm. Brian the tech was answering the phone as folks went in and out; repeatedly I watched him be friendly, personable, knowledgeable, knew folks by their first name, patient, and polite. After Brian looked at my battery to record the make; I decided to make an appointment next week. The proprietor, David, asked if I minded if he took a look. He showed me what he suspected was the issue and offered to fix it that afternoon. Less than 45 minutes later, the cables were fixed, the battery tested and he educated me about Honda battery cables. While David worked on the car Brian gave me tips about the MD area all while I sat in their comfortable leather seats in the waiting area. After finishing up, David and Brian wished me good luck and said the effort was on them since it was my “First Customer Visit” and the fix was “no big deal.” The owners of ATCC found new ways to “pay forward” kindness to a complete stranger. I am grateful to them for making me feel so welcome and checking my car out. My husband and I will give ATCC our service as long as we live in this wonderful area of MD.

I dont believe they like fixing old cars, but they did tell me that I didnt need to have my brakes done because it was just surface rust making them squeak and the pads and rotors were well within tolerance.
