We have worked with Melvin on various repairs and he has always been professional and courteous. The repairs were done correctly and completely.

The current manager Melvin is terrific. He offers great customer service and has a refreshingly pleasant manner. He is a wonderful improvement to the establishment. He calls when promised with updates and doesnt try to upsell. I havent interacted with the other manager yet. The shop continues to provide good service.

As good as new! I cant even tell that anything happened. Melvin is very welcoming and Earnie is very diligent in making sure he completes within his 5 day timeframe.

These guys are amazing and honest. They were the only ones that were willing to evaporate my AC, allow me to do my own work on the truck, and then recharge and do the drop test. First issue is they do not wear masks. They also do not do everything you ask them, and do not solve the issues you bring the car in for. Also, more expensive than other repair shops. Do not recommend, and will never go back.

Although Ive only used Bowie Auto Clinic twice for minor issues, I will definitely use them again. I found them to be very professional and customer service oriented. Although not intentionally trying to eavesdrop, I overheard conversations with other customers. They took their time to patiently explain problems in laymans terms and did not try to push unnecessary repairs upon customers. If a repair did not have to be performed right away, they informed customers accordingly.

Always excellent service when I go there

One of my vehicles was in dire need of some badly needed repairs/ replacements...which I suspected to include replacement of the serpentine belt, and possibly the water pump and the alternator. The vehicle is ten (10) years old and none of these items had been replaced during the life of the car to date...so I did not feel overwhelmed by the outcome of the diagnostics on the car. As I suspected, the alternator and the water pump were at the end of their lifespans, and the serpentine belt could go at any time. John, the individual who handled the repair ticket was very helpful in his recommendations with the parts needed to complete the repairs, and I valued his input. From my observations, the mechanics/technicians seemed to be knowledgeable and professional ...and I felt that I was treated as a valued customer, even though it was my first visit. I was given a lift home, and called when the car was ready for pick-up. The price for the repairs was reasonable, well within my expectations, and I qualified for a senior citizen discount. I found the place to be neat and clean in appearance, and the bays looked tidy. When I picked up my vehicle, and started the engine, it was so quiet, compared to how it sounded when I brought it in. Bowie Auto Clinic guarantees their parts for one (1) year should there be a problem down the road, another plus. Five stars*****.

Reasonable cost for all of my diagnosis and repair work. So far there is a quick turnaround with getting my vehicle back ASAP. I like taking my car here; they explain exactly what they are doing and why, and are willing to answer questions. I never feel that Im being pressured or paying for unnecessary work. Their prices are fair, especially when compared to taking it to the dealer. Although I dont know a lot about cars, I dont feel like they are taking advantage of me. The times I have taken my car here the repairs were done within a reasonable time frame. I highly recommend!

I initially found Bowie Auto Clinic through Groupon. I was so impressed with the professionalism and quality of the work that I’ve made this my primary source for maintenance and repair. John answers questions with a great attention to detail and a focus on making sure you understand any recommended repairs.

I am updating a prior review. I am very displeased with the diagnosis of my vehicle. My vehicle was taken to darcars kia of temple hills after this visit stating transmission was completely finished and needed a new one. Had to resort to dealership thinking I had warranty.... then none. So I called Melvin asking for quote on remanafactured transmission.He said there was a used one and insisted I put a used transmission in my car! After explaining I wanted a remanafactured one and why which was because of a warranty on it and because I owe money on this vehicle.... he still after several conversations later insisted I put a USED transmission in my vehicle. I went for a different shop who matched his labor entirely on the transmission and agreed to put a remanafactured transmission in my vehicle from KIA that Melvin claimed he could not get. THEN ONLY to find out that the transmission was NOT my issue whatsoever! Im so very angry because Ive trusted this shop for several years now written many great reviews even bought cars from them that lasted me forever! Because you lost Garemel and Matt as an employees who actually diagnosed problems CORRECTLY! I WILL NEVER RETURN AND I WANT A REFUND FOR MY DUAGNOSTIC FEE!!!! YOU DO NOT DESERVE LOYAL CLIENTS.... Bring Garemel back and I will think about bring my car back to this shop. You almost cost me almost 2000$ due to a diagnosis plus another $189 to kia of templehills plus thier diagnostic fees and they even mis diagnosed my hell kia..as a transmission problem never testing engine for issues. Plus diagnostic fees on yes another shop 139$ so thats a lot of money for a single Mom to pay! This was the worse experience of my life. They were nice up front. I asked them to just to look at the drivers side window motor is not working and right turn signal. They came back with a more things I did not tell them to check. The quote was so so expensive and the diagnostic price was high because they did more work then I asked. When I told them I could only afford to do one item that is all. When i pick up my van, the door was not working and the front bump was falling off and the right turn signal light was hanging out. I turn around and I said that I cant get out of my van the door would not open. They fix it but the front bumper was on the ground I asked them why is this apart, no answer. I feel that they took advantage of my lack of knowledge of cars. And also the van is worse than when we brought it to them, it has gas or something really strong smell in the van. It really smells like gas, they said they had a open gas can open in the work bay (REALLY) the fuse must have gotten in my van. But it has been 2 days still have a strong smell, cant drive unless the windows are down. The window motor that they fix is slowing than before. Never again will I use this auto shop. Very sad and upset

I came in thinking I knew what was wrong with my car (Google mechanic here :). They were able to diagnose the problem and it was actually worse than I thought. My car is pretty old and things are starting to go bad. Since I needed a few services done they were able to work with me and provide a discount. It really helped. This was my second time going here. My car is running much better and they even fixed a couple of extra things at no extra charge. I was really appreciative!

I think I just found my new shop. So far so good. Ive been looking for an alternative to the Audi dealer for basic services. Local to me (always a plus), professional, scheduling an appointment was easy, ASE certified techs, Genuine Audi parts, reasonable pricing, can perform all scheduled maintenance at a fraction of what Audi charges. I do miss the free wash, but all in all I am pleased. I will be back in another 10K miles.

I had these running boards for my Chevrolet Tahoe for over a month looking for body shops that would install. Each time the mechanic stated they dont deal with rust. Most of the shops I went to wouldnt touch it. They stated...it will probably create a bigger issue. Long story short, right around the corner from my house Bowie Auto Clinic did the job and did the job with perfection and professionalism. I do recommend this shop. They are fast, very organized and most of all professional. I really appreciated the business.

I went to have my vehicle repaired here based on the good reviews. After 17 days with my vehicle and daily calls, there was always an excuse. Stories were conflicting and each unit was not consistent. Neither body shop fixed my problem. I am dissatisfied!Although partial funds were returned, my vehicle is back in the shop. Its an inconvenience to me with time off and taking the time to do what should have been done originally. If you cant handle it, then dont accept the job! Do not promise a client something you cant fulfill!Mechanics and shops need to be open and honest!

I asked how much it would cost and the young man (did not get his name) at the desk came out to take a look. He fixed it right then and did not charge me anything for the service. I greatly appreciate the help I received.

Guillermo is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!! He and his team work fast! Guillermo is very knowledgeable about cars and what he does, you can tell it is his passion! And being a single woman, I didnt leave out of the shop feeling taken advantage of because I dont know much about cars. Guillermo was friendly and let me know what I should get fixed now and what I still had time to get fixed later on. The energy in that shop is great! They made feel comfortable and valued as a customer, whenever i need any work done I will surely go to him!

Wow where do i begin, this company and their staff is incredible. I wanted to install these new mud flaps after they got my car fixed a couple months ago. Extremely fair and completely honest auto mechanic shop. A rare find. This is the first time I have taken my 2010 Honda Pilot to a shop outside of the dealer because of warranty issues. Glad to say we have found a superior shop for our SUV. Got an oil change and inspection services. This is my new go to spot for vehicle repairs and mechanical work. In need of a MD safety inspection I brought my BMW here. With short notice they fit me in and promptly started the vehicle safety inspection. My car had some slight issues that would hold it back from passing inspection. Mark was hands on and showed me exactly what was wrong with the car when it was on the lift. He was honest and straightforward about it. He was willing to work with me on my tight schedule and didnt pressure me into getting the repairs and parts there. I asked for an estimate and received a fair price for the parts and labor. They had the part shipment taken care of in a few minutes and the car ready by the next day. With such a quick turn around and hard work ethic the shop and Mark have a loyal customer now and I will be recommending more people from my military base to come check out this shop!!!!!

I had my car serviced at Bowie Auto Clinic last week to replace my rear shocks. My decision to do so was based purely off of their previous reviews, and I was very glad that everyone was right. I have a true appreciation for any place of business that does exactly what they say they will do. Their prices are fair, my car was ready exactly when they said it would be, and to top it all off they provide great customer service. I will definitely be back!

I am consistently impressed with my experience at Bowie Auto Clinic. By and large, the time for repairs and maintenance is fair. Sometimes it is a same day turnaround, often next day (your mileage may vary). Guillermo and particularly Mark are very transparent in what they are looking for, what they believe is going wrong, what maintenance is recommended and when. Several times they have elected not to recommend or replace certain parts as it isnt necessary, despite that given the work they probably could have made the recommendation calling it proactive and I would have accepted. Most recently, I asked them why they hadnt replaced three other units in the course of replacing one, they discussed the cost and unless they had good reason to believe it was going to fail, it wasnt absolutely necessary. They then told me what I should look for in terms of failure going forward.Very often, they show me the broken part, explain how and why it broke and the consequential effects on driving performance. As well, they have often not charged me for minor repairs or tweaks, treating them as targets of opportunity. They are good about identifying issues that dont require immediate repair and are worth keeping an eye out for.This builds trust. I am more inclined to accept their assessments for more expensive repairs when they come. I a expect their prices to be at the very least fair, while the repair experience will be well above average if not frankly outstanding. A business that is out to keep my costs low, especially over the long term, is worth more business. My 2c.

Guillermo and his crew are very conscientious and thorough. They diagnosed and fixed the issue with my 2000 Honda Accord for a fraction of what the dealer wanted to charge me and the car now runs great, plus my headlights are brighter thanks to their lens cleaning service. They think my car could last as long as 300K. I know thats an estimate, but it was nice to hear. Thanks Bowie Auto Clinic!

The staff here are the most helpful and thorough people I have experienced at a car shop in a long time. Great prices as well. Tip: call ahead to schedule your service, as theyre really popular and can get busy. Nevertheless, they will always make time to help you! I recommend this place instead of the large guys nearby like Goodyear, Merchants, etc.

A friend told me about this place and the people there being honest and professional. I set up an appointment for a car inspection and headed over. From the moment I arrived, I found out very quickly that my friend was right. They got to work right away and did everything to make sure I was comfortable and satisfied while I was waiting for the inspection to be over. A few issues came up with the state of my car but they did more than just say, well this needs to be done and that needs to be replaced. They actually showed me everything they were talking about and showed genuine concern for my safety and the condition of my vehicle. I live and work in Bowie and am happy to say I will be returning to them for all my future car related needs!

My experience with Bowie auto clinic has been good from start to finish. My car had an issue with starting that was difficult to diagnose because the problem would go into hiding whenever I took it in for service. Mark kept working on it until he figured it out and fixed it. The car now starts perfectly every time. The most important thing to me is that I have found a reliable place that I trust to take care of my car. I know that they are professional, honest and fair and wont nickle and dime you while they try to solve a tricky problem. I’m so glad I found Bowie Auto Clinic. I was driving on Rt. 50 from a project in Bethesda back home to Ocean City when my van started having brake issues. I had a stuck caliper dragging and badly overheating the rotor. Glowing red, smoking and shaking. It was at night after business hours so I limped into Bowie and got a hotel for the night. I called first thing in the morning, spoke with Guillermo and told him my story. He said bring it over and they could try and work me in. I arrived a little after 8am and long story short, I was out of there with a complete front end brake job at 10:45am. They even had to order parts; pads, rotors, calipers. Guillermo was courteous, knowledgeable and fair. I wish I was closer, I’d use this garage all the time. Great work guys!

Took my car in for service to have a belt replaced and was told some other components had to be replaced. I authorized the work and in less then a month my car broke down for the same reason. Another company fixed the work and I was told the previous work was done incorrectly. Tried to get my money back and was given the run around. I had to return with two police officers. FOLKS... NEVER USE THIS PLACE! I believe they charge customers new part prices for refurbished parts. I dont find them competent nor honorable.

Great communication, fit me in on a busy day, and got the job done well and as per the estimate.Needed a job done on my 2006 VW GTI. Called around and the Bowie Auto Clinic was 2/3 the price of dealerships. They are a very well run shop and did a great job.

Great service. I am extremely frugal so I thought the $1600 price tag for an induction service, front and rear brakes and rotors, and sparkplugs for a Dodge ram 1500 was a bit pricey. After doing a google search and pricing the work with other auto shops i realized i got fair pricing. Had some scratches on one of my doors and they buffed them out as a good gesture.....a freebie! I took my sons car to be inspected at Bowie Auto Clinic. It was the nearest shop that seems to have good reviews. After talking to them on the phone, they said they could inspect the car right away. When I arrived they took my car right away to the back of the shop to inspect the car. I ended up waiting for an hour and 45 minutes.  After waiting for so long, I went up to the counter and asked if they could speed up the process.  The gentleman told me that I could take the car to Walmart MVA when they would be done because it stays open until 8pm.  Finally, the guy who did the inspection came in to the shop and went directly to the computer without talking to me and just emailed me that the car failed the inspection.  He was within speaking distance to me and never bother to say anything to me.  So when I received the email, I got up and went to the counter to talk to him. I asked for details about why the car failed the inspection. He said that one of the headlight covers was foggy and needed to be buffed.  He also mentioned that the tag lights were burned out. I asked an estimate of how much this repairs would cost. He said that front light buffing would cost 30$ and replacement for the tag light would cost 20$. I gave them the go ahead to do the repairs based on the estimate. I waited another hour for repairs to be done. At that point I was presented a bill in the amount of 169.40$. I was shocked at the high price and mentioned my surprised to both gentlemen. They explained that they did both headlights and did some kind of 4 layer buffing; and mentioned that their process was better than using a chemical that most shops used. I was surprised that they decided to do both headlights instead of just the one that they talked about which doubled the price for the headlights. At that point, I decided to leave as I was pressed for time to make it to MVA to register. I did not feel good about the outcome of the cost of these repairs. I called a friend to discuss this experience to get a second opinion about this event. She was shocked at the cost of these repairs  and we discussed the fact that they chose to do both headlights when the agreement was to just work on one headlight. I asked my friend to call the shop and asked for clarification on this bill. When she called, she politely asked if they could explain how the bill came out to be so high. The gentleman was immediately sarcastic on the telephone and talked about the buffing system they used. He told her the process used for the buffing would last for a long time. And he volunteered to say that he guaranteed good results for one year.  In my opinion, this is not a very long time. Then she asked why the tag light bulb replacement was much more costly than in their estimate. The gentleman responded that it was a lot of labor to get to the bulbs and he mentioned that he did not charge me for the cost of the bulb.  She told him that the bulbs cost less than 6$ for both and therefore the total cost for the tag light replacement was all labor.  She mentioned to him that it was very expensive for this type of job. The gentleman was clearly not open to making any price adjustment.This experience made me feel like I was at the mercy of mechanics taking advantage of a customer by grossly inflating a bill and misleading the customer with a misleading quote.  I never gave permission to work on both headlights. They failed the car inspection based on one foggy headlight. I had no recourse but to pay a grossly padded invoice!  If you choose to go there, beware that you may be misquoted in the estimate and expect to leave there having paid a high price for minor repair work.  And if you question the bill, you will be met with the sarcastic tone!

I took my sons car to be inspected at Bowie Auto Clinic. It was the nearest shop that seems to have good reviews. After talking to them on the phone, they said they could inspect the car right away. When I arrived they took my car right away to the back of the shop to inspect the car. I ended up waiting for an hour and 45 minutes. After waiting for so long, I went up to the counter and asked if they could speed up the process. The gentleman told me that I could take the car to Walmart MVA when they would be done because it stays open until 8pm. Finally, the guy who did the inspection came in to the shop and went directly to the computer without talking to me and just emailed me that the car failed the inspection. He was within speaking distance to me and never bother to say anything to me. So when I received the email, I got up and went to the counter to talk to him. I asked for details about why the car failed the inspection. He said that one of the headlight covers was foggy and needed to be buffed. He also mentioned that the tag lights were burned out. I asked an estimate of how much this repairs would cost. He said that front light buffing would cost 30$ and replacement for the tag light would cost 20$. I gave them the go ahead to do the repairs based on the estimate. I waited another hour for repairs to be done. At that point I was presented a bill in the amount of 169.40$. I was shocked at the high price and mentioned my surprised to both gentlemen. They explained that they did both headlights and did some kind of 4 layer buffing; and mentioned that their process was better than using a chemical that most shops used. I was surprised that they decided to do both headlights instead of just the one that they talked about which doubled the price for the headlights. At that point, I decided to leave as I was pressed for time to make it to MVA to register. I did not feel good about the outcome of the cost of these repairs.
