Im one of those people thats normally never satisfied with haircuts. In all my life, I had probably only gotten one haircut that I didnt immensely regret. More recently, Ive become interested in somewhat modern-looking haircuts, and I quickly found out that chains like Great Clips just cant consistently deliver anything better than just a trim. I never wouldve imagined that the place where Id get the perfect modern haircut Ive been looking for would be called Old Timey Barber Shop. Everything here was just about perfect. I got there around rush hour without an appointment, and the wait still wasnt too long, despite how theres only two people working there. The lady who cut my hair was super nice and asked questions to make sure she was going to cut my hair the right way. To put the final nail in Great Clips coffin, the price was only $16, or a meager $4 more than an awful cut from the chain. Nothings perfect, though, and this place is no exception - I was a little annoyed that they add on an extra dollar to the cost if you pay with a card (I dont carry cash). Another issue is how the place looks. The outside looks like your garden shed, and the inside looks like your grandmothers kitchen. They gave me the best haircut of my life, though, so I guess I can forgive them.

Great place to get your hair cut! Definitely recommend! Ive been getting my hair cut here since I moved to BHam in August and have a great experience each time I go.

Worst haircut in my life!I tried Old Timey Barber Shop based on the single review saying they gave him the best haircut of his life. My experience did not match. The guy who cut my hair seemed to think he didnt need a guard for the clippers. My 3 or 4 guard is more like a 2. He free handed around my ears as well and one side looks significantly worse than the other. I guess it will grow back... Avoid this place!
