I have never left a bad review for any business before now. I hope that gives you perspective on my frustration with Byrons. They are not honestly. Period. An honest business admits they dont have the tools or knowledge to fix your vehicle instead of stringing you along just for profit and putting your safety at risk.My car broke down in the middle of the road late May of this year. I trusted the recommendations to take it to Byrons because they seemed like a trustworthy business. At the beginning they were accommodating and seemed kind. I told them exactly what happened (the car stopped twice on the road, had smoke/steam from the hood, etc) and basically implored them to check it thoroughly because I was moving states soon and needed it to be safe.They checked it, told me the water pump was leaking and an ignition coil was failing and needed replacement. I trusted them, paid in full and picked up my car. They reassured me multiple times it was safe to driveI broke down within days.I took it to them a 2nd time. This time they told me two more coils were failing and needed replacement. I asked them again to check it again for other issues. They reassured me multiple times that they had and it was the only issue. I paid again and picked up my car.It broke down AGAIN.By this time I was beyond frustrated, had spent close to a thousand dollars in repairs, and had less than a week before I had to move states. I took it to them a third time because nothing made sense. This time when they checked they said the problems were arising due to a plastic t connector that melted due to the heat. When I asked them why this hadnt been found from the beginning (since radiator problems are so common and the car had overheated when it first stopped) they told me it would have been impossible to see it and that car diagnostics are not accurate. Any mechanic that utters that last statement and thinks hooking up a car to a computer and not checking manually as well is enough to diagnose whats wrong is either incompetent or thinks doing a mediocre job is fine as long as the customer is desperate enough.Recently the car broke down once again (in the middle of a packed New Jersey freeway) despite all their fixing and empty words. If they didnt know what was wrong with my car they should have been honest and said so from the beginning. If they thought the car was beyond salvation (which it isnt) then they should have said so from the beginning. Instead they refused to acknowledge their services were inadequate (they have yet to respond to my email), and had the audacity to gaslight me and say the multiple visits were my fault because I didnt bring it in sooner.Save yourself the trouble. Truly.

A family run business and as friendly & kind as it comes! I went in for an oil change & tire rotation. As I checked out the mechanic suggested I have my front brakes done before winter. I didn’t feel any pressure to make the appointment right then. But I will be going to them to get it done!

My car drives better than it did off the sale lot. Great service. Very accommodating. Easy to communicate with, only downside is being that good means your popular and busy, but its worth the time.

Very friendly and the prices are very good. They dont mind holding a conversation with you while your waiting. They also have a kids area so they can play while waiting. Very impressed and I will be coming back!

Highly Recommended! Went in for an inspection was in and out quickly and they even changed a bulb for me free of charge. The waiting room was very comfortable and had a great atmosphere!

Great Local Auto RepairAfter having bodywork done on our SUV we had it sent to the dealer to get an inspection. After spending $2200 on body work we were shocked to find out it required an additional $4000 to get it to pass. We read great things about Byrons and decided to get a second opinion. They inspected it (twice) and said there was nothing preventing it from passing inspection and that one of the must do items to pass inspection was a fabrication. The other must do issue is a small leak that would have to be addressed in the future, but was not preventing it from passing inspection. Thank you to everyone at Byrons Auto Repair for going the extra mile.

If I could give Byrons 10 stars I would. My husband and I have been using his repair shop for almost 2 years (ever since we moved to Maine) and theyve never let us down. I know from first hand experience that theyre reasonable in prices but most importantly honest. Honest about what you do and dont need done to your vehicle. Honesty in his line of business is a rare commodity, so when you find a rare gem such as this one you hold onto it for as long as you can!

I was stranded on the side of the road in Kennebunkport with my car not able to start. I called around to a few different places, but everyone was booked up on a summer Friday afternoon. A family member recommended Byron’s and I could not have been happier with my experience. My car was towed right to their auto shop, my tow truck driver even knew the business which made me feel more secure in my choice. They diagnosed the problem and fixed by car in 2 hours. When I came to pick it up, they clearly explained what was wrong, showed me how I could fix the issue (blown fuse for fuel pump/gauge) in the future, and fairly charged me for the labor and parts. Would definitely return if having car trouble in the area again!

This is the best mechanic Ive ever seen. They are honest, and very knowledgeable. They told me exactly what was wrong and honored everything they said they would do. I brought my vehicle to 4 other mechanics first, AND NONE OF THEM KNEW WHAT WAS WRONG. They all pointed me in the wrong direction. So trust Byrons because they know what they are doing.

Very professional, super friendly and fast. I recommend to anyone needing a vehicle repaired. Repaired the truck while we waited. We were dropping off son at school 1300 miles from home and wanted the truck fixed before we left to go back home so we would have peace of mind that he wouldnt have to deal breaking down in a town where he knew no one. Repaired the universal joint and welded the bracket for muffler. Very fair price.

Byrons came highly recommended by a friend and some online reviews I found. O had become very dissatisfied with the garage Id been going to for years. I own 2 trucks, 2 cars and a trailer so I spend a fair amount keeping them safe and running properly.Byron is very friendly yet business minded and a straight shooter from what Ive seen.I am very satisfied with the work they did and some things they found and took care of that were safety issues. Im also equally impressed when a garage could have charged me more but rather informed me of potential issues for down the road but didnt insist on doing the work right away.All in all Im very satisfied at this point and Im happy I chose Byrons as my new go to garage.

These guys are some of the best people iv delt with for car work. I had to get the clutch replaced in my daughters car. I had another shop qoute me 1200, and my husband called that same shop and they quoted him 1600 to get it fixed. Iv had issues with people trying to take advantage of me because im a girl. But this guys were great!! They quoted me a price and kept their word on that price. My husband says the clutch is like night and day from what it was when we dropped it off. I will be taking all my cars to them from here on out.

This past Friday I had to bring in my car for AC because it wasnt working after I had charged it. Obviously, when it was 85 degrees the day after, I was frustrated about it. Byron, like always, helped me out and got it done within the day! Now it blows really cold! Ive been a customer of Byrons for 5 years and even before he had a business. Hes honest, fair and extremely accommodating. There were times when my family was very very poor and transportation was very important. And you know how it is when your car breaks down and you know you dont have money to cover it. Byron seriously helped our family out a lot by being very kind and accommodating. Prompt, fair price, friendly. When I calling to schedule my appointment I asked that the tech working on my car please wear a mask, and they politely agreed.

A different, trusted mechanic knew that my car needed only a small segment of the exhaust replaced, not the entire exhaust system. This should take, at most, 2 hours of labor + tubing. As the original mechanic did not have the specific tools needed to do this work, I looked into Byrons Auto as an alternative.I called Byrons Auto and clearly explained the situation, and they assured me that they were capable of doing this type of work. They told me to drop the car off for an 8:30am appointment later in the week.Many hours go by after dropping off the car without even so much as an initial quote. Again, this was surprising because I was NOT a walk-in, and the entire job should have taken less than 2 hours. After contacting them myself to check on the car - not the customers responsibility - Byrons Auto tried to scam me into replacing the entire exhaust system!After again explaining to them that I knew with certainty that this was not necessary, Byrons Auto finally admits that actually they just do not have the tools to do the minor work needed. And so, rather than tell me that upfront, they were going to charge me to replace an entire exhaust system which was entirely unnecessary.Byrons did ultimately come clean about this deception and recommended a shop that has the specific tool needed to do this minor work. Which makes you wonder - why did they not tell me upfront that they could not do this work when I first made the appointment? Because they were hoping to rip off a young college student in the midst of a modern day plague.All of this could have been overlooked, but the final straw was when it came time to pick up my vehicle. I am not accustomed to having my beautiful Lexus mishandled. I found it parked in a literal ditch on the alley side of their building a few yards from a busy main road. My Lexus was left with the windows wide open, doors unlocked, and keys in plain sight on the front seat. No respect for the vehicle, owner, or personal property within.I will not return to Byrons Auto under any circumstance and would recommend that you also find a different place to service your vehicle.

Byrons Auto is my go to for all auto needs!! I moved to the area 2 years ago uneasy about having to establish with a new garage to have on hand. Byron, his wife Vanessa, and the garage crew have been pleasant, honest and fair. Ive been to them my fair share over these past couple of years, too. Hanging with the kiddos and pups from time to timein the cozy waiting area kind of makes you feel right at home. Byron recently installed a new engine and transmission in my 2014 tundra. They installed the new drive train on time on budget with great attention to detail. My tundra has a factory super charger that is very difficult to tune properly with no check engine light. The dealer warranteed the previous engine and I had nothing but problems after, constantly in and out of the shop. Byrons work has held true for as fraction of the cost of what the dealership wanted to charge. Highly recommend.

I will say that I miss the courtesy and level of communication Vanessa provided when she worked the front desk but I am thankful that Byron will always come out and speak with me about my car himself. I have had nothing but positive experiences since taking my car to Byron’s the past few years. I have continued to tell people what great service Byrons provides. Years ago, I was told by another place that my car needed replacement of my power steering and was quoted a ridiculous price. Not only did Byrons give a much more reasonably priced quote, he saved me even more money when he told me the replacement wasnt even necessary and flushing the fluid was enough. He could have never told me and collected the money for replacing the lines, but instead he gave his honest opinion and went out of his way to save me money by telling me. I continue to have a great experience taking my car to Byrons. The service is excellent and I am impressed with the integrity they put forth.

Byron has always treated us well which is why we continue to bring our vehicles there. He is upfront and honest about what needs to be done and what may be able to wait a little longer. He has always been willing to work with us to be able to get our vehicles on the road including fitting us in at the last minute when we hit a road hazard and popped two tires.
