Pine Mountain Sports is THE BEST bike shop in town. I tell all my friends to shop here because everyone is so helpful and knowledgeable and friendly! This time I worked with Paco and he was awesome! He took the time to educate me on different types of bikes, specs, brands, and even the history and evolution of different bike brands. And he was so patient with me! He listened and addressed all my concerns and helped me choose the best bike for my skills and potential. I chatted with Jody and got some good advice from her too. I have never had a bad experience with Pine Mountain Sports. They are my go to! I love this place! I left the store with a new Trek Fuel Ex 9.8!!

Recent transplants to Bend, OR and decided to go heads down into the culture and great activities that defines the town. Demoed a couple of mt. bikes to get a feel and...we were hooked. We purchased soon afterwards. Paco, who helped us out is awesome. Since we are new to the modern high tech mt. bike, Paco presented them in a way us newbies could fully understand. Took the time to fit the bike to our individual profiles and answered any questions we had. Great guy. Dan, the owner, also made the effort to introduce himself and congratulate us on our purchase. This is one of those where 5 stars doesnt do it justice! Im a 20 year resident of Bend and this is the best bike shop in town.... and we have some really nice bike shops! I had a major issue, (my fault) just 4 days after getting my new Trek Fuel EX and the folks at Pine Mountain leaped over tall buildings to help me. Pine Mountain Sports is consistently the BEST bike shop Ive ever been to. My experiences at shops in Bend and other states have been underwhelming (staff attitude, service quality and turnaround times, selection of in-stock products), but Pine Mountain is always a 10/10 experience. Its very obvious the level of professional and friendly expectations that the stores leadership cascades to the staff and it greatly impacts your customer experience. Its been consistent every trip and with every team member Ive encountered. Quality culture.The best part of Pine Mountain is the extremely fast and high-quality service department they have. It starts with the service consultants and the efficient organization they clearly have that ensures their professional technicians are on-point with getting your bike serviced properly and quickly. 1-2+ month turnaround at another shop for service? Pine Mountain says bring your bike in a few days out and itll be done in a day or two (for a complete overhaul). The buying experience with Dan was easy and comfortable and I felt ready to ride again after almost 10 years of a hiatus. I didn’t realize the frame was cracked until placing the bike on my bike rack, so my surprise and frustration all came on pretty quick.All in all, Dan and specifically Cody, worked with me on a continual and consistent bases for multiple weeks via phone calls and email until ultimately my bike was fixed. They offered multiple amenities to keep me on a bike while the season continued and comped much of their service fees off during the repair.Their genuine effort to provide good and honest customer service was the difference that will not only keep me as a customer, but also one that will recommend their business overall.Hope this helps any review seekers

Our group had a fantastic experience renting some mountain bikes from Pine Mountain Sports! We were a large group (14!) of varying skill levels, Jesse and Rune went out of their way to ensure that all the bikes were set up correctly and provided some good instructions for those that were new to the sport. Convenient location just a few miles from Phils. Highly recommend!

The customer service at Pine Mountain Sports isnt just wonderful when youre in the store, likely to buy something. They were so helpful and nice when I called a couple times before trying out new mtn bikes. They provided me so much information with no pressure. Then, my experience in the store with Chris was amazing. They truly want to help you have fun in a safe manner and to educate you. Chris made sure the bikes I was trying were good fits and gave me options, along with the pros and cons for all options. Again, with no pressure to buy. The staff is very knowledgeable. And, to see them interact with each other, you can tell they are a family. Thats the kind of place I want to give my business to (as well as just hang out and learn)!

Called Pine Mt. to line up a demo. Also had some questions about specific bikes, and the rental folks handed me to Chris G. In short, he was amazing. I was driving from Bend to Portland, and Chris was like having an interactive podcast. I had questions and he had answers. By the end of the conversation (and my drive), Chris took my number to get back to me regarding availability of certain bike models. Shortly after ending our call, Chris called back and provided information for everything I was interested in. This guy was great. People talk about great customer service, but this was above and beyond. Love this place.

We rented 2 full suspension bikes for a 4-hour session. Everyone who helped me out was extremely nice and patient and helpful. We called a few days in advance to reserve the bikes and everything went smoothly. Showed up right when they opened and everything was ready to rock. Bikes were in great condition and functioning properly. We rode from the shop uphill to the trail system. Drop off was smooth and convenient. No complaints.

Erika was fantastic! Such a simple transaction of renting a couple of bikes but her enthusiasm and recommendations, even over the phone, were top notch. She was authentically happy to help and an incredible representation of the team in Bend...the customer service bar is so low at almost every retailer in the country I was beyond excited to find an exception in this store. If the world had more Erikas and Pine Mountain Sports, people would ride more bikes.

Very friendly staff. They were kind enough to fix my bike on the spot which had a bent hanger. They didnt have to do this but still did so I could ride later. Really great selection of Santa Cruz and Juliana bikes as well. Also the rentals looked great a huge selection of Trek bikes in great condition.

These guys are amazing. Always happy to share their extensive knowledge of Bend and cycling. I don’t know a thing about bicycle maintenance but they put in the time and effort to explain. Just rode home after a tune-up and it feels like a totally new bike. Thank you!

PMS is a great store. Great selection of high end bikes and parts - even during the pandemic, and a great, knowledgeable staff that is there to help when you want it, but not overbearing when youre just poking around. I have also had really good experiences with their shop, both for my bikes and skis (even though Im an alpine guy and theyre more nordic and backcountry oriented). I highly recommend Pine Mountain Sports.

If your looking for great info, go see Paco. I was looking for a bike but wasnt sure what I needed. He took the time to educate me on bikes, pulled a few out and even tried to get me to spend less money to make sure Im getting the best bang for my buck while appreciating my level of experience. We ended up purchasing 2 bikes for my wife and I. We left the store and hit some trails. Our youngest already had a hard tail and I cant tell you how much fun we had in Central Oregon on our new Trek mountain bikes. Thank you Paco for your time and patience with us and all of your expertise! We will definitely be back for our future mountain bike adventures!

I had the best experience Ive ever had at a bike shop at Pine Mountain Sports. I rented a mountain bike for the day, and Francois was the who helped us. Not only was he super friendly and helpful, when he heard it was my first time on a mountain bike, he went above and beyond to go over the bike in great detail, and also was extremely encouraging as well. This really made a difference often times it can be very intimidating to start a new sport, but the patience and encouragement from the staff at Pine Mountain Sports was just above and beyond and unbelievable.Thank you guys for your help and your patience, encouragement and expertise!

I recently bought a Santa Cruz Blur from Pine Mountain Sports. I cant say enough good about the crew there from the top down. Believe it or not, I wasnt able to find a bike that fit me in SoCal. But Pine owner Dan answered my email and hooked me up with an awesome new ride. With a new bike there are several things to get dialed in. Paco did a great fit for me, Dave H. and his team tweaked for a week with me, while Ed and others on the sales floor knew me and welcomed me by name (even with a mask on). I rode the bike hard the first week and had some things that needed to be addressed before I headed back to SoCal; Dave and his service team of Phil, Alex, Michael, Jon, and John worked after hours and before the shop opened the next day to get my bike dialed in before I left. (I should mention they helped me a lot with work last year on a Trek Top Fuel that needed servicing...Brie was great).Im now back in Bend, and one of my first stops was Pine Mountain Sports. This shop has a great team put together and it stays great over the two years Ive worked with them so far. Ive worked with a lot of shops over the years; this is THE bike shop in Bend and beyond for me!

I was in the market to buy a new carbon Santa Cruz and went to Pine Mountain Sports. There was one on the floor that was new, but was an older model and significant improvements have since been made to the lower suspension. Knowing this, I asked the sales rep if this specific bike would be discounted due to the now outdated technology. He arrogantly told me Someone with money will buy it. Just because I dont walk around with an air of pretension doesnt mean I dont have money. I ultimately took my 4k cash and went to 4 Seasons Sports in Sunriver and got the newer model bike for the same price.

Did a beginners ride on some hard tail bikes. The customer service was great, care and attention in bike selection/setup, bikes we’re in great condition. Would definitely recommend and go again.

Really fabulous experience at Pine Mtn Sports. Showed up to buy some gloves and the entry system with COVID precautions was very well done. Additionally several different friendly staff members stopped to check in with us during our visit and offered great advice in picking out some bike gloves. Walked out grinning from ear to ear because of the great service, and I don’t often feel that way. I also really appreciated that there were several friendly and knowledgeable women on staff. As a woman I am used to going into bike shops where most, if not all of the staff are men, so that really made me feel more comfortable.

The service at Pine Mountain was excellent. My wife visited to get new mtb shoes and the man helping her went above and beyond to help her find the type of shoe she needed that Pine Mountain didnt even stock. He was more like a shoe expert/friend versus a sales person funneling her to the products on the shelf.I revisited because I was interested in a mountain bike and was blown away by the service from the staff. They had the bike setup for me when I arrived. After I purchased the bike, Jody took the time to tweak the bike so it fit me properly (bar width, seat height etc.), show me how to tune the front and rear suspension for my needs, discuss things like optimal tire pressure and answer all the additional questions I had. Jody is a bike expert not only with all the bike gear and components, but also with riding technique in all sorts of conditions. It was incredibly informative to talk bikes with her and I have never received this type of care before when buying a bike. I also really appreciate the additional items that were included with my purchase: membership to COTA, 10% off future purchases at Pine Mountain, free demo etc.I also want to add that while we were in the store on our first visit, a man on the floor stopped by to see if we needed anything. We told him we were headed to Oakridge and he gave us great advice on what trails to ride and got us really excited to visit.I rarely write reviews, but in this case I feel compelled to praise Pine Mountains staff. Best bike shop on the planet! I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars here and never had a bad experience. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and it’s obvious that the owners take customer service seriously. My dream bike is the Juliana Furtado. My local bike shop in Arkansas was extremely dismissive of me and treated me as if I am a stupid woman. I received the complete opposite from Pine Mountain. They were attentive, answered all my questions, and hooked me up with a Juliana Furtado that I will pick-up in January. I look forward to visiting this next weekend and will absolutely do business with them in the future.

This shop is really legit! Staff knows what theyre talking about and when you buy a bike they will spend time working with you. I worked at a shop for 2 years, and my friend bought a Santa Cruz yesterday and experience he got was super above standard. Pine Mountain Sports is an excellent shop. Two separate great experiences there.First experience I had was that I got a flat tire on my ride at Phils and had to walk 3 miles out to my car. I drove straight to another bike shop, only to be told that my bike was too filthy to be looked at, they wanted to charge $20 to clean my bike, and that they didnt have time to even look until a few days later.Contrast that with Pine Mountain Sports. A mechanic literally looked at my bike on the spot, diagnosed it, fixed it, did a tubeless tire install, and charged me $10. They even offered sympathy for me having to walk out from the trails, and told me well get you back out riding in no time. It was truly an awesome experience, especially contrasting with the other bike shop.Second experience, I came to Pine Mountain after another ride where my chain had been falling off. I wanted to buy a new chain, but a mechanic looked at the bike and discovered that the clutch had been off (I didnt even know bike drivetrains had a clutch). He told me that even though my drivetrain was a bit worn, it was likely falling off because of the clutch, and recommended I dont need a new drivetrain quite yet. And when I do get one, to get a new cassette with it because the chain would wear out faster if I didnt. It was great advice, and saved me a lot of money.Two great experiences, I will always come back to Pine Mountain Sports whenever Im in the Bend area. Thanks!

Dan got my partner set up on the bike of her dreams. He was attentive during her demos, taking feedback seriously to put her on the best bike possible. He tought us a ton about bikes in general, and even as a spectator in the process, I came out with more knowledge We appreciated their handling of the virus with their current operations and social distancing. The fact is, we found a lightly used demo of the same model with a carbon frame for sale a few hours away, but opted to take the aluminum model at the same price from Dan. We could not allow ourselves to buy somewhere else with the elevated level of service he provided. It may be a few years before I need another bike, but when I do, rest assured it will be from Pine Mtn Sports.

Staff is very knowledgeable about the products they sell and I have always been happy with the ski and bicycle repair/service I receive from their service department. I respect that they evaluate what is needed and they do not try and upsell unnecessary services.

Amazing customer service! Everyone is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I have bought a several bikes here and ever time it’s a great experience. I had a bike on order and due to Covid the expected date kept getting pushed out farther and farther. It was looking like it was never going to come. Dan called me and we started talking about what might be in stock that could work. Dan took a lot of time to figure out what bike would be best for me and found an in stock bike that was a better fit. I must say that Dan and Ed really stand out and I really appreciate them.I also want to say that the business as a whole is something special. The shop donates to and supports local charities. The staff is amazing all around. Lastly the shop is handling the Covid situation well.

The service was excellent. Unfortunately, I dont remember her name but a young lady with an accent helped us. She got my Fiancee and myself set up quickly and skillfully. She explained everything very well including taking the time to set a route for us. The only thing I would change is I wish we had more time to ride all day! I worked with Erica, Christopher and Dan during my bike buying process and they were all very knowledgeable with helping me find a bike best suited for my needs. I learned to mt. bike through one of their programs years ago and love the events they put on from clinics, to powderhound, movie nights, etc. All around great shop with great staff!

I rented a full suspension Santa Cruz. The rental process was a breeze. They have a great staff and took care of me quickly. The location was perfect for a quick drive to the trail head. Parking was excellent and would recommend them to anyone.

It takes a village to find the right bike. Everyone at Pine Mountain Sports weighed in and helped me find the one. I eventually decided on the Juliana Furtado with Pacos final help. This store is fantastic. Had a small issue after riding for 45 days (my fault) and Bree put in a ton of effort to make my bike as good as new. Cant thank you all enough!!!

So I’ve been going to Pine mountain sports for years renting bikes and buying products and never had an issue, a couple months ago I had a bike rental issue and a frame purchase that didn’t work out due to the lack of communication of the staff.For the bike rental issue, they gave me a credit and free bike rentals which I was totally okay with and was still a very happy customer. I guess they had a system issue and voided the transaction, which again I had no problems with just paying the debt that was owed, but that got me in contact with the owner Dan.This is where the issues really started. I came to the conclusion with Dan after a couple long phone conversations apologizing for dropping the ball, that I would deal with him and come pay what was owed and get a deposit back on a bike I no longer was getting. I tried to coordinate with him multiple times and he was not available so I decided to go in and deal with the manager and explain the situation so I could just be done with this .Long story short, Dan then called me and tried to explain to me that even though his manager and I had finished our business the day before and squared everything, he still wanted me to come in and pay A debt that was higher than I owed.He was very rude to me and then threatened to send me to collections for a charge that I had tried to pay multiple times.He then hung up on me because he decided he didn’t like me getting aggressive after the threat.So unless your going to buy a 8 thousand dollar bike right off the showroom floor don’t go here.Don’t waste your time. Plenty of great bike shops in bend. This used to be one of them.

It’s rare to find cheerful, friendly, helpful, professional sales people these days...I am SO happy I called Pine Mountain Sports in Bend, Oregon looking for parts for my new TREK bicycle...I will drive nearly eight hours to pick up the part because it’s one of only a handful left in the entire US this year...but sales person Mark Campbell made it a pleasure to consider doing...I’m excited to meet the person who gave me such great customer service...and he offered to install the part on my bike at no charge!! Now THAT’S customer service above and beyond the call...so appreciated 👍🏻🥰👍🏻

5-star experience... Rented two full suspension mountain bikes and the service was great, including suspension pressure being set according to our weight. The owner was super friendly and gave us guidance for the trails nearby. Will be back!

They found the perfect fit through not only demos of bikes but also ensuring proper fit. We did a 5 day bike rental on our vacation. Pine mountain was amazing, set up our bikes perfectly and helped us fine tune some things during our stay. They have great customer service. Highly recommend.

Buying a bike at Pine Mountain was great! Very professional, didnt try to up sell me but instead went at my speed and made suggestions that matched my needs & wants! Great place! I already plan to upgrade to a full suspension bike soon! Then Ill have one for camping and another for hard riding...Thanks!

Pine Mountain Sports is one of the most friendly, informative and professional shops in Central Oregon. Dan (the owner) has hired a staff of knowledgeable outdoor enthusiasts, each of them with expertise in all areas of the business. The prices are reasonable and the customer service will bring you back again and again. Finally, Pine Mountain Sports does a great job of giving back to local charities. They are truly a part of the Bend community.

Really, really, really disappointed with the service at Pine Mt. - we called on a Monday to reserve 3 bikes for a 24-hour rental as the first leg of our excursion in Bend. Everything went well and was confirmed for Friday, so we show up ready for pick up. They told us there were several reservations with the same INITIALS in paper/binder booking system and our three bikes were rented out - leaving us with nothing and no availability for the rest of the weekend. Coming from California this was the worst news - they offered a coupon for a free rental but realistically we come to Bend once in a blue moon. The younger girl helping was nice but there was no viable solution they could offer; operational mess. Bummer.

We come to Bend often...nearly my entire family lives there. With such a big name shop as Pine Mt. Sports, I always wonder how the service and shop attitude would be...and its always flat-out amazing! While in town this time, I semi-frantically brought in my MTB that i had just built up and was having problems with the caliper, a mechanic threw it on a stand and figured it out in minutes...a day or so later, I came in with my two younger children, the staff was incredibly helpful and kind to me, as well as them.We gladly shop at Pine Mt. and I certainly brag about it any chance I get, cant wait to be back in Bend visit the shop. Thanks again!
