Best shop in town!Ive been in and around auto repair shops for 45yrs. Ive gone thru several here in Whatcom County over the past 30yrs, looking for one that focuses on diagnosis instead of parts replacement. Big shops, small shops, dealerships - after the first few visits, I would realize they were not what I was looking for...until last year.These guys were within walking distance, so I thought I would give them a try. I checked out their website, they SOUNDED good, but the proof is in the pudding, right?This is my 3rd experience with Evan and Steve at The Panacea, and I am more impressed with each visit.Oh BTW, Im a +60yo woman, they always treat me as a peer. So if youre looking for skilled, honest and reasonably priced service and repairs w/o the BS, this should be your go-to shop.

They refused me service based on my ethnicity. I have a truck, its got a check engine light, so I needed to get it diagnosed. I went in there and talked to the owner named Steven. He told itd be ok if I got the car towed to their shop. He gave me an estimate of 115 bucks.Later Id speak to one of mechanics at the shop and realize the price was actually only 90 dollars. He tried to overcharge me for this service. I was ok with it though, I just wanted to get this done. And so I got the car towed into the shop. When I walked into the office it was really stuffy from a lack of air-flow. I left the door open so the fresh air could come in. Then the owner rudely demanded that I shut the door. He sounded angry and mean. So I shut the door, but it didnt quite shut all the way. He asked for my information. After seeing my last name he seemed skeptical of me. (My name is a foreign name). After which he then turned and looked at me with hatred and told me to get out. I was so sad that Id been treated so poorly. I was the victim of his prejudice. I wanted to cry.His excuse was I have too many cars here with problems. But it was clear to me that his problem was with me being foreign. Dont give this bigoted intolerant man your business. If youre an ethnic minority of any kind, do not shop here. He does not welcome people like us.The worst of it was I had to have the car towed away afterwards to another shop to try and get my car fixed which cost me even more money. I ended up buying an OBD, and figured out the diagnostic problem on my own. If you have similar problems, I encourage you to do the research online, and get an OBD reader for free at Oreilleys.

I went to these guys because they had nothing but five-star reviews, and now I understand why.I called this morning to see if they had any openings. The electrical system in my truck was acting up. They said that they would be able to see me immediately. Even though they were down a tech for the day, they fixed my 92 F-250 in less than three hours. I was already happy about the turnaround time, but the real treat was when I went in to pick it up.The technician, Chris, explained exactly what went wrong with my truck in explicit detail. I could tell that it was his intention to make it so that I could fix the problem myself if it happened again. Having been to see a number of mechanics throughout my life, I can say that this is quite unusual. Chris priorities were definitely in the right place.The bill was modest, and the whole affair was overseen expertly by Evan, the front desk guy. Its nice to see two friendly and professional young men adeptly operating in a field thats often overseen by crotchety geezers. I guess they havent heard of socialism, intersectionality, and other mind-warping and ambition-killing influences deployed against the youth today.Panacea Automotive is a first-class operation, and I just wish Id discovered them earlier (were moving in a couple weeks). If you have an issue with your vehicle, you wont be disappointed by the services they offer.

I have a hard time trusting mechanics, BUT this shop is very honest! They have great diagnostic equipment too! It takes a lot for me to want to send people to one particular shop, I send everyone here who needs a good professional mechanic! I have been going to Panacea for years to service my vehicles. Recently I brought my 2013 VW Jetta TDI in due to a check engine light. Inspections reveled a manifold sensor failure… Easily a $1000 repair to start. After a little detective work by the Panacea staff, it appeared suspicious that the problem sensor was being manufactured for older vehicles (perhaps a widespread problem). Steve suggested I check with the manufacturer/dealer for possible warranty issue and coverage. I brought the car to the dealer, just as suspected, it was covered 100% under warranty by the manufacture.I would have never known if it wasn’t for the experience, knowledge and honesty of the Panacea staff. They could have easily pointed out the problem and charged me for a quick repair. They put their customer first. As a result, they now have a dedicated customer for life. Really appreciate the people here. unfortunately got stranded thanks to another shop not actually fixing my pinion seal. scheduled an appointment here. unfortunately showed up early but because they still were waiting on other vehicles. got mine in an out in no time havent had any problems with leakage especially after driving back to Oregon. also appreciate how they replaced a breather tube because all the other shops never did. so again very great full.
