He was able to diagnose, discuss differences in used or new parts that may work, order, and install.Visiting on a weekday will be less busy than a Saturday.

Josh worked with on a clock for me out of my old car that has a known circuit board issue so he replaced some components and tested some others. Mr. Josh is the best computer expert I know, and I took computer science classes in college, including well above average computer savvy myself. Mr. Josh, is social, friendly, and honest as he’s going to fix whatever the technical issue is on your computer. He builds his own super computer that are amazing in appearance and creativity like using LED bright colored glass tubes filled with water as a cooling method en lieu of the tradition fan, heatsink, and spaced out vents. Competitive price by far as I’ve done my research comparing the price range between 6 local area computer repair stores, with Mr. Josh the best in every review category by far in comparison to other stores. Everyone sells junk except CR and if CR sold junk they could sell it cheaper, Ha! same story even all these years later...i have purchased several computers from big box stores over the years and never had one in for repairs and (NEVER bought one with used parts in it) and yet they all work perfect even the older ones, sounds like pretty good junk to me...

After running around all day trying to find a compatible motherboard with the cpu I just bought, I called Computer Renaissance and they had just what I needed. I was up in PTLD recently and just had to stop by, I remember a guy named Buzz ran this place and he was sued twice by Microsoft...I looked around and must say it has not changed, you can still by a system new at Walmart, Best Buy or online for a 3rd the price and get 5 times the system. i guess if it wasnt for repairs this place would have closed years ago.

I decided to check out and support a local store so I called and asked if they had a screw.He told me he had one and I should come by.He charged $10 for this. Buying this from my usual distributor would have cost 5 cents. You can simply search Google and find far cheaper alternatives.If you dont want to be taken advantage of, dont come here.

Diagnosed the issue in a timely manner and offered a solution that would have not required repair or replacing hardware, though with some reduced performance. I decided to bite the bullet and replace my apparently declining motherboard and the repair was complete within a few hours. Loved that he has his rates posted up front. Galactic computers down the street wanted to charge me $99 for a diagnostic...seems more honest/transparent here

I had bought a refurbished charging cable for my OLD Dell over 5 yrs ago. It wasn’t charging since Sept of last year. I thought I might have to have all my WORD docs transferred to flash drive. Prepared to pay the $60 to do that. Low and behold it was my power cable again! I bought a new flash drive to transfer files and a refurbished power cable. Josh was so patient and said let’s see if it’s an easy fix. I had heard a great recommendation for refurbished lap tops from him. I was prepared to spend the $200 to the ref.computer ( I basically only use it for WORD and email). Since I switched to iPhones 7 yrs ago, I don’t have as much use for a computer with bells and whistles.

I have a new place to go to fix any future computer issues! I bought my laptop there on friday because keys were not responding as they should. I thought it needed to be cleaned, but he said there was an issue with the keyboard. I thought he was going to give me a price I couldnt afford, but it was only $10 more than I expected. I expected double. the price. Affordable. and on monday my laptop was ready for pick up. Josh is very friendly and personable and professional, and he practices social distancing and wears a mask, like I do during this crisis which is very important to me. Based on many earlier reviews of this place, I decided to give them a call.So very glad I did!I (like most people) really dig that they do a free basic exam of your computer, and then a very reasonable diagnostic fee if it takes more than a few minutes to troubleshoot. (I cant drop $150 just for someone to simply power up my computer!)In my case, Josh recognized my damaged HDD was FUBAR within minutes.Ive replaced these in the past, and so I initially thought about saving a few bucks and doing it myself. Then again, what brought me in here was that I needed it to get fixed asap!I decided to have him replace/upgrade the drive and add some RAM.That was yesterday, and today I was delighted when Josh called to tell me that my computer was ready!Hardware fixed, internal bits cleaned and lubed, OS and drivers loaded, and a screaming fast, brand new laptop...yeah, Im glad I went to Renaissance!Check these guys out.They will let you know if its time to put your old puter out of its misery if thats the case. I had a great experience today with Computer Renaissance. My laptop died and so I went to look for a used laptop at Computer Renaissance. Josh, the manager, was very pleasant and professional and went out of his way to help me find the best laptop in my price range. He even gave me credit for my not in great shape laptop, and let me use the credit towards the purchase of the laptop I wanted. He installed a program for me, showed me how to work the laptop, and I walked out of there a very happy customer. The Compaq laptop I bought is great. I would recommend Computer Renaissance to anyone looking for a good deal on a used computer.

I had a power supply go out on me and needed a very particular supply right away to get a small server for our office back online. I brought it in, they actually did have just what I needed in a used machine. They pulled it out, confirmed it worked well with my machine, and sold it to me for a good price. I had looked before I went, they sold it at pretty much the exact price they were going on ebay for, only I didnt have to wait. They dont have everything in stock, but they will order anything you need, and if they do have it, the price will be good as well.

Awful. I sold them my husbands computer then the next day he passed away. I told them about the tragedy and we may need to buy the computer back. They said I could buy it back but for 150 dollars more than what they sold it to me for. They had no heart in the situation of my husband dying..only cared to make money off me. The guy that works in there , Josh , is completely rude and doesn’t smile and is a liar and a scam. Don’t go here.

They charge way too much to clean your computer, 160$ for a simple virus cleaning? Talk about scam artists, also made the mistake of buying PC upgrades from them on good faith they knew what they were doing, said it would all work, ends up they were full of it and it barely works. My family is officially done with this joke of a business after multiple lousy overpriced repairs and parts from them.

Employee (Didnt catch their name) was very dismissive. Gave me a secondhand fan, but attempted to jack up the price and the last second. Came home, fan did not fit, falling out of its place and had three of its fans snap off in the process. Get what you pay for, I suppose.

I cannot recommend this place highly enough! I moved here from another state, where I had a techie friend who custom built my desktop computer running Linux. I do not like computers much, I dont want to know about them, I just want them to work for me. I thought I would have my techie friend around always to solve problems for me, except we moved! But now I feel like I have another friend to solve my computer problems for me. Josh was very helpful-- but more than that he really listened to me, didnt make me feel stupid, and came up with several options for accomplishing what I needed. I left with my issue completely resolved and for a lot less than I expected to spend. This is now my go-to computer resource.

My wifes laptop had a broken LED screen. Doing tech support for many years, I spend a year ordering replacement parts online leading to several dead ends. Being a business that stayed open for many, many years, I decided to take it to Review Computer Renaissance for a quote. They had another dead laptop of the same model and swapped the screens in 20 minutes and charged me a very low rate! I was extremely happy with their knowledge and great service! Ive recommend my mother to contact them for another laptop issue and am planning to recommend them in the future. Their local services I feel good supporting.

Just did an upgrade to Windows 7 from XP on an older system for my 82 year old Mom. I had been anxious that there would be many programs that would not run properly. The work was finished as promised, and it was just perfect... no problems at all!

Today was great! Im typing now on my Dell Inspiron that was not enjoying its last week or so when it stopped working and we had to send it in to Dell, which took over a week. Then when we got it back, it still didnt work, so we took it to Computer Renaissance and Josh pressed like 4 keys and it worked, when Dell was trying to tell us that we had to clear everything out. Which was what we didnt want.Josh explained everything, we had a very pleasant conversation about Star Wars and Big Bang and computer jargon, and my dad and I watched him solve another customers problem without blinking an eye with good knowledge of it and an in depth explanation. Overall it was a pleasant experience, took, like, a half hour, and everything works perfectly. I highly recommend it!!

Id give them 7 stars if I could. I have a 3-4 year old HP Pavilion laptop. It was getting slow and I thought reinstalling the OS (Vista) would help. I tried doing so using the recovery disks Id gotten from Best Buy when I originally purchased the computer. But the reinstall failed after getting 85% through, and gave me an error code. I went to Best Buy and talked with the Geek Squad. They said the problem was the hard drive. So I bought a new one, went home and installed it, and then tried the recovery disks. This time the reinstall stopped as soon as I got to the point of pressing Next to begin. I looked on community chats for the error code. There were different answers, but I didnt get useful help from them. From one suggestion, I restarted and went into the BIOS for diagnostics. The memory test passed but the hard disk test wouldnt execute. It said there was no IDE device installed. I didnt understand that, so I phoned Best Buy. They said it could be several problems, including motherboard, etc, and they would need $200 for them to diagnose and fix the problem (more if new hardware were needed). So $%^&)$#)-bleep! Or I could return the hard drive and get my money back. Of course, this would not solve the problem and leave me in the ditch with my laptop. So I tried calling HP support. But this was not much help and they suggested I call local repair shops. So I did. I got some weird suggestions, and some high costs to look at the problem. Then I called Computer Renaissance and talked with Josh. I began describing the problems. When I mentioned the no IDE device installed message to Josh, he asked me if I had connected the adapter. Adapter? - I didnt know there was one and wasnt able to see one. He said that the HP Pavilions had adapters for the hard disks. When he described it, I immediately saw it. I connected it to the new hard drive and presto, the recovery disks worked this time. They formatted the new hard disk and reinstalled the OS.Josh really knows his stuff!! And now I’m using my laptop again, without having paid Best Buy $200 or local repair shops $100 or more, and I genuinely have the correct fix to what was wrong.I will keep this shop’s phone number and call them first when I next have a computer problem!

The best experience I have had by far!!!! Josh is absolutely AMAZING!! I had made a huge mistake and completely erased my OS on my beam new verry expensive laptop. About to give up and just sell the thing, josh was able to completely reinstall and fix my computer at an unbelievable price!!! And He even through in a free RCA cord!!! This store obviously took advantage of my older relative by selling them an overpriced gaming keyboard, when they clearly arent a gamer. When we figured out what happened we wanted to return it but they said their return policy was 1 day. So we couldnt bring it back a day later. Ridiculous.

Diagnosis is free, which was nice. My computer got jostled a bit in shipment and some pins on the CPU were messed up. He fixed it free of charge so I bought a video card from him at a bit above internet pricing. He is very arrogant, however.

We recently enlisted the services of Computer Renaissance on Beaverton-Hillsdale Hwy at the recommendation of a trusted friend. Our computer was getting blue screens more & more frequently, and ultimately the green power-on button was flashing orange & the computer would not turn on.For several weeks, unplugging & replugging back in the cord helped the computer come back up but eventually all hope was lost. It was a goner & I was devastated since the whole household uses the same computer & we use it for job-seeking, homework, email communication & more. It was tragic & I thought all hope was lost.HOWEVER, Computer Renaissance saved the day!! The two guys there - Buzz & Josh - one older, one younger - both were very helpful, explained things in English (not computer-eze) and were able to diagnose the two apparent problems (for free) and then fixed & returned to us within a couple of days!!
