So apparently this company is spending money on adverting to acquire Portland area customers, but they dont actually service Portland, Oregon. At least that is what the customer service agent told me when I called the 800 number. Very strange...

Best computer place ever! Name was changed to Hyperion and the owners are great. Fixed my old computer and went above and beyond to make sure I had the correct software for my use. They know their stuff and care about their customers.

Just called this shop and theyre no longer taking repairs in Portland during the COVID pandemic. This is reasonable, but they got all of my personal contact information before letting me know they wouldnt take my repair. I find this very suspicious and dont trust that them to purge my information.

This is a FAKE Location in Beaverton Oregon. Local (503) phone # calling routes to Californai - AND THEY DONT MENTION IT. No one is at this Beaverton location, it is merely a mail drop address. Dont waste your time as I did.l

Garbage I called first thing they said was we dont do before they even heard my issue.O and we dont work with our portland branch. This was Beaverton. I thought this was pathetic you should never say we cant before you hear someone out.

Hyperion not Nerds OnCall - is the best! They fixed my computer explained everything and had a friendly environment.

Dropped off two computers wanted to install the operating system back on it another one to see if it was worth fixing and they said they wouldnt charge me for that,lol typical lie trying to upsell me to buy a new hard drive. And charge me diagnostic fees even though they said they wouldnt charge me to see if it was repairable or not before i brought my computer in. Save your money and go somewhere else

First, the people and the customer service is 10/10! On the phone and in the store, they were an absolute pleasure to work with! The guy I worked with was incredibly knowledgeable, and was good at conveying concepts and never made me feel out of my depth. The reasons that I gave them less than a perfect score is because:1) I had gone in the have my CPU cooler upgraded, and after getting home, I checked my CPU temps and they had jumped to 100c. So, when I called to see if they could come out and look at it, I was told yes, if I wanted to upgrade my package to the In Home service for $50.... mmm k...2) If you want them to warranty their work, you must pay for an additional $80. (Bright side, that also includes over the phone support, and some trivial perks for 30days)3) My initial In-Home service was canceled the night before forcing me take my PC in... which isnt a big deal, but it was rather inconvenient being that I do not own a car. However... that saved me $50, which I put towards the warranty..........)Overall great! Some company policies Im not a fan of, but the people, theyre GREAT, they make the service easy and painless, as long as you dont mind the cost.

I cant even begin to express how happy I was with the service I received here. First theyre very quick with communication and giving updates on your computer. Anytime I sent an e-mail I would get a response back near immediately. Even after store hours their response center was good about letting me know they had received my message and would be forwarding it to the needed parties as soon as the location was open again.My computer was unfortunately having a whole host of issues, and almost as soon as one was resolved another would pop up again. They were very patient in helping me deal with everything, were good about getting my computer in the shop immediately when something new would go wrong, and great about giving me updates on exactly what was going on. The time frames they gave for how long things would take were spot on. They were willing to work around my odd schedule and did great communicating information between me and my wife who had to handle things when I wasnt around. Im also not the most knowledgeable when it comes to the actual build of a computer, but they were very good in explaining things in a way I could understand and keeping me informed on exactly what they were doing.All of the issues seem to be fully fixed now and I have to say my computer is running as good as when I first got it.Overall I was very pleased with my experience here, fully trust them with the care of my computer, and would highly recommend their services to anyone.

I was trying to connect a PC to a networked printer that I knew was working, but for some reason Windows 10 couldnt discover it on the network. The great thing about Nerds on Call is that these Techs know exactly where to go on the network to get the most reliable printer drivers and they take care of all the settings too. You COULD throw hours and hours at the problem and eventually find the right print driver or combination of settings yourself, but utilizing Nerds a way more efficient use of time.

We had major issues with our work computer, I called the team and they were here first thing the next morning. Darrien was very polite and knowledgeable, gave me advice and ideas how to keep the computer running smoothly, and now I am one happy customer! Will definitely use again.Update: I have used these people before and again they exceeded my expectations. Nick worked on my computer today and cleaned up everything I knew pretty much nothing about , and was so polite and gave me great advice - excellent service from him! I have had a long relationship with Nerds on Call. I count on them to fix whatever gets messed up on our computers (My husbands and mine.) They are always very professional and courteous and they are really good at what they do. They make house calls when necessary, they set up whatever new screen comes our way. I highly and with no reservations recommend them. Five stars and they are worth every one.

I was forced to get a new laptop and I wanted to insure that I got everything set-up correctly. I called the Nerds and they came to my house. They set-up my laptop and established connections for all other network tech stuff. They installed whatever apps I needed, they insured that my printer worked, they answered all of my questions, and never once did they make me feel helplessly stupid. I now have a contract with them and any time I want I can ask them pretty much anything tech related. I just requested my first tune-up and and I didnt have to do a thing to insure that my system is functioning and safe. I love my laptop but I hate being responsible for it. The Nerds take on that responsibility and that makes me very happy.

Ive had online assistance a few times over the past couple months and they have been very responsive with excellent customer service. Sometimes Im not certain what downloads I should allow and they have provided me very good counsel.

My computer became locked up. There was number to call, supposedly from Microsoft. Well,obviously not! Finally I became uneasy and placed a call to Nerds. Robert S. told me I had been hacked, but he would take care of things. Robert called me back after an hour and a half to tell me he had taken care of things and while he did not think my computer had been hacked I should still be cautious and keep and eye on things. Nerds were so quick to reach me and also to work on my issue. Many thanks.

I consulted with this company about building some custom computers for a business idea I had. They obviously told me they could do it but more importantly they ended up steering me away because for various reasons my idea wasnt going to work out very well.I appreciate honesty like that and I wont hesitate to come back for any future computer needs I have.

Weve used nerds on call for several years now. We are on the monthly program, and they are usually excellent. Occasionally there will be someone who doesnt quite measure up, but you can switch techs if you need to. Well worth the price to have someone at hand to help with all the sudden difficulties and walk you through learning new things. some months we dont need them at all, andsome months they more than earn their fee. We are very happy with them.

We have used Nerds for many years and have been very satisfied with the service and follow up. The few times that we have experienced a difficulty (just part of having a business, nobody is perfect) we have been able to work with their team and resolve any issues. This company seems to have only one real product—the $179 “We’ll do everything we possibly can to your computer and sign you up for future help via phone at a discount. We won’t mention that will be $25 per month.”Buyer beware if that is not what you need. I’ve had two bad experiences and won’t return.Experience #1Need - Someone to sort through all the technology my dear husband left behind when he died suddenly and unexpectedly so that I could donate most of it.Cost - $745. This was at an hourly rate, I believe $165 which I guess is their business rate.Service - Excellent. The technician was kind, compassionate, thorough, and knowledgeable. He is no longer there.Satisfaction - It was worth every penny to me to be relieved of this emotional and technologically-challenging burden. However, it did seem like a lot considering it was one service call less than a mile from their Garden Home (Portland) location and a chunk of the time was sorting and wrapping cords! I wrote an email questioning the charge but never received the courtesy of a response.Experience #2Need - I do all my computer work on my ipad or iphone. I needed to use Flash for an online class, though, so needed help updating either my husband’s Linux or Windows laptops so I could finish the course.Cost - $79. First though, I was only offered the $179 service. When I indicated that was too much for what I needed and started to leave I was offered a $99 15-minute service with an unexplained $20 discount.Service - when I returned 30 minutes later to pick up the computer, the Flash program which wasn’t working properly when I brought the laptop in was no longer showing up at all. The only thing I was offered was the opportunity to pay an additional $80 for the full $179 service. I took the computer home and restarted it. I got a window for updating Flash which I did and then the Flash program I was using worked. I hope not finishing the task was a sloppy oversight and not intentional.Satisfaction - Totally unsatisfied! The up-selling was dismaying and the technician didn’t finish installing Flash which was my request in the first place.I will never use Nerds on Call again!

NERD over the phone was suuuper uninterested in offering customer service and assistance. Called with a couple questions and was made to feel like I was speaking to a dead computer battery.

I sat down to my computer this morning and the screen was blank and it looked like some entity was censoring the various items in the bars above the screen. I called in and in no time it was back to normal thanks to one of the nerds.

They do a great job cleaning up my computer whenever I want it done. Friendly too.
