I would personally not live here. I don’t even do reviews but I had to leave one. They are extremely unprofessional. Between hearing gunshots every Week to having maintenance problems. My Roommates and I left our apartment completely clean and we were all charged. As you can see my room is spotless and I was still charged! Also, the entire time we lived there we have had issues. It’s cheap don’t get me wrong, but I would not recommend!!!!

Our dishwasher is broken for almost two months. We have made more than 10 requests to fix it. The maintenance staff merely unclogged the sink every time, which obviously did not resolve the problem! It turned out that our dishwasher had a fundamental problem, yet they have neither replaced it nor do they have replaced the parts that are needed to be replaced. Basically we are paying for the house with dishwasher but living in a apartment with no dishwasher! Impossible!

DO NOT LIVE HERE UNLESS YOU ARE BORDERING HOMELESSNESS!!! this complex is truly terrible . nasty. mold. roaches. they make up the charges & fees as they go. rooms are tiny. take forever to fix anything. forget about safety cause they got gunshots, car break ins, and murders on the regular in the parking lot. the complex will do nothing. tow cars even with the tag. they bribe people to leave good reviews. DO NOT LIVE HERE.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS APARTMENT COMPLEX. It is complete trash and a scam. They will try to move you into dirty units, leave you without a stove and broken down furniture. Their way of fixing the issue is to offer a gift card but NEVER send it. I believe living in a crack house would have been a better move!!!!

POSITIVE REVIEWS ARE FAKE THE MANAGEMENT BUYS REVIEWS. Ive stepped on 6 shards of glass in my room since moving in here a couple weeks ago and who knows how many more there are hiding in the carpet. They obviously didnt clean before I moved in. There were dead roaches in all of the cabinets, the shower caulk is disgusting, the dishwasher drain was eaten by rats (that are still living in the walls) so we cant use it without getting water in our living room, theres multiple outlets and switches that dont work, the list goes on and on yall. Good luck trying to get maintenance to fix anything.edit: management replied with some cookie cutter bs response about talking to their team to resolve the issues. Theyre empty words, they didnt even leave contact information.

Dont move here, there’s a flooding problem, they go up on the rent they advertise $340 but its really 4 close to $500, they false advertise the apartment with the lsu themed one. they have roaches, the staff in the office don’t know what to do incase of emergencies like my apartment flooding from the roof for the past 5 days, no one has came to fix the problem or even inspect it. all of these apartments are raggedy tbh. just save your money & go somewhere else!

My girlfriend lived here back in 2018 and I would visit a lot. I loved the amount of space she had at The Armstrong (compared to my apartment at the time) that I decided to lease there the next year in 2019.I rent out the Super Two and I absolutely love it! It’s a great deal for a low price and I have so much space. I’m so close to LSU that I don’t even have to pay for LSU’s expensive parking passing. I just walk or take the bus. It’s also really nice living near my girlfriend and her dog!10/10 recommend for college students and grad students!

I honestly could not ask for more here! Each team member that has helped me has been incredible helpful, empathetic, and sincere, the maintenance is timely, and they put on fun and unique events! However, my biggest thing is the rent. There are a lot of properties around BR there market themselves aspremium just to charge you twice as much for rent. DONT FALL FOR IT. Ive paid way to much before for amenities I never used, and gorgeous offices that I only went to get packages from. Save yourself the money and at least check this place out :)

I was hesitant of putting my full support behind my daughter when she first told me she wanted to live off campus her 2nd year of college at LSU. She cajoled me into making the 2 hour trip to visit The Armstrong and take the tour. I was pleasantly surprised after taking the tour and meeting other residents as well as the knowledgeable staff. The amenities are top notch and observing the monitored security finally sold me.Nearly 2 years later, she has had the most pleasant experiences with the interactions with maintenance and management staff and I am so pleased she talked me into co-signing this really affordable alternative to campus living.Thank you to all the administrators and staff of The Armstrong!!

Do not live here! Rent is cheap because the apartment is cheap! I lived there for a year dealing with problems of AC going out, bugs, and much more. Things would not get fixed no matter how much you reported it, and most of the staff doesn’t know the correct information to tell you. I was charged $45 for carpet cleaning (it was already clean) after the rooms were inspected after move out, and now I get a letter from a debt collector that I owe another $80, that I had no prior knowledge of! Nothing was told to me and I paid what I owed already, yet they send this to a debt collector. They’re charging me another $45 for a carpet cleaning and $35 for blinds on windows that were already broken when I moved in!They’re crooks and just want to make money off of you any way possible!

I just moved in and of course not everyone gets the perfect roommates but due to getting these roommates (who did move out), Giselle switched me from living with a roommate who had coronavirus. They are very caring in the front office, do everything within a timely manner, the issues with this place aren’t within direct relation to the apartments themselves, it’s the people here who publicly try to take their issues out in common spaces to let it be known they arguing with somebody. So I don’t have an issue with this place, I like it here.

Jo
Review №61

After moving out of this terrible place I have been charge almost $200 in cleaning fees. Now for reference when I moved into my apartment they did not clean it before hand or even throw out anything left by the old residents. I had problems with things not working and horrible experiences with the management team that has no idea what they are doing. Then they charge me for something that is the apartments fault. I suggest to live anywhere else as it will be better than the Armstrong. They claim to have a new management team but refuses to take responsibility or help on any of the problems. This has been one of the worst living experiences I have ever been through. All the positive reviews are purchased by the apartment as they do giveaways and discounts for good reviews because they know that is the only way they would receive anything above 1 star.

I have lived at this apartment for about half a year. The rent is the cheapest I’ve seen but the rates change every month (utilities). The apartment room in itself and the kitchen is pretty nice if it is clean and well-taken care of and if you have a maintenance problem, they usually take care of that as well. They finally replaced the beat up couches as well. That’s why I have given 3 stars. Now here’s where living at the Armstrong can be a nuisance. Some of the people living here are mental. It could be 3 a.m. and I hear people yelling and cursing (even when they’re alone) on a regular basis. There are shootings every other week, so be careful with that. I don’t know if the security here is really doing their job. I’ve put multiple online chat request and never got contacted from any of those so don’t waste your time typing. I’ve given the office calls where they told me they’ll get back to me, and never hear from them again. But I think the worst thing that made me write this review was the reason why I had called them. I’ve been living with a roommate. And my roommate was able to give me his rent bill and I realize I was the only one charged with utilities (water, electricity, trash, etc.) and he didn’t. So why am I having to pay for it all? And if it is my share, then why didn’t he get his? We both use the utilities of the apartment. Never got a call back for that which I find unprofessional. But it’s fine though, I’m giving away my lease to someone else.

I put in my first work order on Friday because my garbage disposal wasn’t working. The kitchen sink takes a long time to drain and because of the broken disposal the dishwasher is retaining water. On Sunday I put in another work order because when I turn on the kitchen sink at all the water starts leaking out of the dishwasher. The waste water that has been filtered through old food particles has been left in the dishwasher for days now and it smells absolutely putrid. I labeled both work orders as high priority and called the front office twice but it’s Wednesday now and nothing has been done.

I would not recommend this place. Son stayed here for sophomore year this past school year. Apartments are not in good shape, nothing like the pictures they advertise on the website. There was a broken/missing step leading to second floor that they took a very long time to repair. They also make it very ambiguous on the payments and true total cost of the rent with utilities. The final straw was recently upon the lease being up, and moving out, they come back with a final utilities payment of $91. I go back in the portal to pay it and they are charging a $17 convenience fee, even if I am going to do a bank draft. I was told there is no way around this fee, and they try to claim it is a credit card fee, which it isnt. Essentially a scam to get more money out of you. Avoid this trap.
