The nails itself were great. Me and my friend got a full acrylic set. However I wouldn’t return to this shop. Our appointments were at 5:30 and 6:15. We didn’t leave until 10 and those were the only services we had done. I could go to any of my preferred nail salons for the same price (or less) and be done much quicker. 5 hours for a full set for 2 people is insane. That on top of the fact payment policies aren’t clear. I booked and paid through style seat and was told to go get cash. I was also told that the cash policies are posted on her Instagram (even though it’s listed no where in her bio or on her website or on style seat). It was just a hassle to go here and not relaxing or enjoyable.

This was my second time trying this place out. The first time my appointment was set for 6:30pm. I got there at 6:15pm. I didn’t get in the chair until almost 8pm. I left a little before 9:30pm. I gave the benefit of the doubt because I liked Gia work. My second experience happened today. I made my appointment for 6:30pm again. Then received a call to come in earlier. I got there at 5:30pm. I still didn’t get in the chair until after 6:30pm. Then to have Gia assistant do my nails and the job was botched. I asked her to cut them down a little bit. She cut them all the way down (even my real nails). They are lumpy and polish coating job is terrible. I wanted to support the black owned business but this is poor quality especially for the price. I will not be returning.

On the search for a new nail tech because my old tech decided to focus on her vision my coworker sent me to this spot. My biggest mistake was not reading the reviews before going. I though I was tripping honestly and was being overly critical since I been going to a black nail tech for over 2 years. Let me first start with the style seat... the massive selections of services.. I was reading through them to find the closest service I need and guess what I still got it WRONG! For a simple service of a basic pedi and gel mani and gel removal I clearly selected the wrong service. Now how I found out was when the owner called the tech to tell her which services I was getting. Luckily the tech asked me what I was getting before she started and the owner called. Meanwhile during their conversation which I can hear the tech is explaining to the owner what I wanted and the owner clearly has an attitude I selected the wrong services. The tech even went as far to ask the owner do you want me to place you on speaker so she can explain what she want the owner said NO! Shocking right.. smh the owner told the tech what services and the prices and hung up. 🤦🏾‍♀️ Great customer service. That was a perfect opportunity to engage the customer so if I decided to come back I know exactly which service to select. Now, the tech was wonderful, great person, beautiful soul, moves slow for a hour service. Granted I got there 5 min late but I left the shop 2hrs later. I never been in a salon that long for my nails unless I was bsing with my tech. She did a wonderful job on my nails and very personable. Honestly I felt like she didnt belong there. The environment seem off to me. Plus, the way the owner talked to her over the phone rubbed me wrong. That leads to the next issue. In the middle of my pedi a potential client knocked on the door and she answered and the person needed their eyebrows done but noone was there to do them, hence the nail tech was the only person in there or so I thought. The owner calls her phone and said, did you just let money walk out the door 🤨 of course the tech explained what happened. Now Im curious where is the owner because you said she should be on her way in so I can ask about the payment but she can clearly see what transpired... to me that was so degrading. This lady sits in this shop all day waiting for clients to build her clientele, did she really think she would turn away money? That blew my mind. Another knock at the door 2 more potential clients of course she couldnt service them for another 20min when she wouldve been done with me. She came back and I said I guess she is about to call again about letting clients go again. Smh but she didnt. The lack of professional was huge for me. Last thing payment. On style seat they take your credit card info and say that will charge if you are late or no show. I come to the shop thinking ok style seat has my info so I dont need to stop and get cash. The tech had no clue on how payment works. After my service I had to check my account to see if I was charged. After seeing I wasnt charged the tech had to call the owner and asked how to make my payment. I had to use the ATM in the shop. Get charge a financial fee to withdraw money. I felt very uncomfortable using that atm esp after my banking info was stolen before from a similar atm. I rather use my bank ATM. I told the tech it should be somewhere on style seat that says to bring cash. Needless to say my search will continue.

I spent part of my Saturday morning just reading the reviews, and I am truly saddened by what has been written. Perhaps the reviews listed are actual perspectives of the client, but I have one question to ask. Do you write reviews of the other cultures that provide a so called service in this degrading fashion? The reviews are part of the problem here in Baltimore. Whenever someone does something great in this city, the crabs in the barrel become agitated and attack. Perhaps there were boxes on the floor, or the shop was messy, or the tech was enjoying a cooler. SO WHAT!!! This is an established business that receives packages during the day, and has to be cleaned up or whatever. I wonder what your work space looks like after a busy day working. Or am I assuming you even have a work space? Ms. Marvelous Business owner, keep doing your thing. I recently moved in the area and had been looking for a nail salon for a while because the one I had been going to was more than horrible. And for you to be located basically across the street is even bigger than I could have imagined. Yes its more than I was paying, but I work two jobs and would rather pay you for this luxury service, one sista to another. We must stop complaining when we see US at least trying to provide services to our communities, not to mention sis youre more than trying. You are succeeding!! Like others, this business could be located in the county and not be accessible to those who live within the city. I love the atmosphere, convenient location, courteous and pleasant vibe I receive every time Im there. And one more thing, someone actually complained that you keep the door locked!!! Thats ridiculous, simply ridiculous. See you in a few. DO I LIKE IT, NO / I LOVE IT!!!!

After reading the reviews of the OWNER I want to say this to you Sis: 1st -congratulations on having the confidence to step out on faith and becoming an entrepreneur. It says much about your potential & worth. Ive never been a client at the Purple Peach but reading your comments in response to your previous customers, is disappointing & a major deterrent. Your comments are unprofessional, grammatically erroneous, belligerent & all the things you dont want to see from the Owner. Your clients are always RIGHT! I hope you grow into a place of maturity & fortitude. Defending mistakes & condoning a poor attitude isnt the way to keep your customers but in fact causes you to loose more customers. Word of mouth and social media ratings are the platforms people use to decide whether or not they will take a chance on supporting your business. Also, developing your business skills, writing skills, speaking skills & customer service skills is your responsibility. Advance yourself. No one is perfect & grammatical errors occur often when typing......but at least attempt to proof read your submissions and clearly articulate your thoughts without being defensive. Owning a business doesnt make you smart or successful....valuing your customers & providing exceptional customer service can. Learning and making improvements when being critiqued is our goal. We sisters are the hardest on one another but the wealth of support one will receive from our own community is limitless if willing to consider whats being shared. Dont assume everybody is HATING on your accomplishments. I.....& those sisters who took the time to tell you the TRUTH about their experiences, care about you. We want you to succeed unless we say nothing, dont patronize & tell everybody about the horrible service....you dont want that. Its difficult for ANYONE to hear about their mistakes, inconsistency, imperfections & areas of weaknesses. Its hurtful, embarrassing, humiliating to be called OUT so we automatically want to Fight Back. Except, no one is attacking you. Learn to appreciate those who are willing to tell you what you need to hear vs what you want to hear because it will make the difference in your growth. Im sure youre doing your BEST but WE should always strive to become GREATER. Lastly, not every comment will be positive & not every customer will be satisfied because thats life and business. We ALL have days when our performance/services arent up to par. Dont let the criticisms get you so worked up.....just do what you can to accommodate those as warranted & respond in love. I wish you continued growth and successes within yourself & in your businesses. I hope to learn more from you one day. Thank you for allowing me to share. Blessings.

I went here twice. The first time I had a different nail tech and lash tech who did a great job which prompted me to go again. I went again and regret even spending money there. The nail tech had no idea what she was doing. She used gel polish on my toes and they started chipping 3 or 4 days afterward. I got a full set acrylic which was poorly shaped and asked for white polish which she started applying and could clearly tell was too thick from the first coat. I asked her to remove it and paint over red. She did a terrible job painting and I had some polish on the sides of almost every finger. It was a terrible expierience and I wish I wouldve known how terrible my $100 would have came out and I wohld have went somewhere else or waited on another nail tech. I was extremely disappointed considering my first appointment was fairly great. She needs to be replace or retrained.

Ive tried on more than one occasion to support Gia and her business. She is the only SKILLED technician, I wont dispute her work. Her schedule is to busy and her staff skill set is way below average and not worth the money. Chairs are uncomfortable and it takes way to long to complete services. After seeing A horrible pedicure and polish she passed me off to another below average tech because she had to rush off. Still unhappy, I went to another salon to fix the mess. Instead of refunding my money, she offered a credit thinking I wouldnt mind spending 2 more hours for her to repair what she knew was awful work. When I declined she still refused to refund my money. Her attitude was down right ghetto even after admitting the work was bad. Needless to say she never refunded my money so I got GOT! What I wont do is ever go back or recommend.

Yikes. I usually give businesses especially black women ran businesses the benefit of the doubt because I know working with the general pop can be challenging as people are overly picky sometimes. But I most definitely wont be giving this business my money. The owner Gia needs to take some classes in Business Communication and also seek some anger management. I love my sisters, I truly do and I know most of us have wonderful attitudes even when we go through the most but some of us HAVE to do better if we want to run and maintain long-term successful businesses. Gia your responses are not being seen has you are defending your business justifiably its being seen as you are unprofessional and unwilling to learn and grow. If you cant take criticism from your customers and up your game then be prepared not to have any customers. It would be better to not say anything then to get on here writing like you are a 15 year old child, using slang, being combative, insulting and being downright nasty. You dont sound like the intelligent black woman that you probably are. Get it together Sis. Grow up and Stop being your own worse enemy.EDIT:Sis, that orange haired fool has nothing to do with what you are doing on these reviews. Dont deflect, just stop and listen to your customers. We WANT to give you our money but we also what to be treated with good customer service hence why we are seeking out black ran nail salons, we are tired of having to settle for mediocre service from people who dont respect us. It sounds like you know whats going on in our country so dont be insulted that we expect to be treated kindly and respectfully. Get out your feelings and get into your bag....meaning be a true business woman with professionalism, tact and vision. If you want to run a customer service driven company then you have to actually give good customer service and be able to take criticism because that is what is going to make you better. Humble yourself. This isnt an attack on you or your business.

My service was horrible. The owner Gia did my nails while she was drinking an alcoholic beverage. She did not know how to do no nail art, she was rude and with all the noise in the atmosphere it was ghetto. When I came and inquired about the prices she snapped at me about how they were on the board. The bathroom was disgusting and seemed unfinished. Very unhygienic . When I asked about nail art by hand she aggressively tried to convince me about some kind of foils and rhinestones. And she was quick to roll her eyes when I declined her offer. In the end I ended up with very basic nails that were definitely overpriced and overrated through their social media. Ive been to better establishments with better service and prices.PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT!

This was my first experience with the salon.Technician Gia wasnt sociable or personable during the service. That could be a good thing, or not. I was the only person in the salon & aside from the music stream, which I loved, and my brief mobile phone conversations there was no conversation exchange. Not sure if thats what Id want from my regular pedicurist. My service was cosmetology school basic so I didnt anticipate any disappointments and there werent. As long as my nail service needs remain basic I would definitely return. If only for the sake of supporting black owned. That would probably be the only reason. Love supporting my own. Hands down.

As like I tell the non-black salons, we are the main PEOPLE supporting them, we can spend our money ANYWHERE, so there should be some since of appreciation. Trash UNFORTUNATELY! This business in particular had a nail tech that was negatively talking to me about “international nail techs”. Then I had to make 2 more trips in one wknd, because my nails popped off, then the polish color started Changing.. I spent $110 for uneven toenail polish(the jelly pedicure) and the tech didn’t seem to know if she did it correctly, and a bad full set. Her shapes were nice, but it doesn’t matter if the nails don’t stay on. After I told her I wasn’t happy, she then BLOCKED ME ON INSTAGRAM! Underage tech drinking wine coolers, bad attitude, bad work. Shop was messy. There were amazon boxes laying around. It was just an all around bad experience. Not to mention this was my second time. The first time I sat in there and no one even greeted me and my friend for almost 30 mins. This place makes it hard to support them for BEING A BLACK OWNED BUSINESS. Smh

Staff was very pleasant and enjoyable. Not the most experienced nail techs but they tried their best. Took 2 hours for just a fill in and the nail tech couldnt complete the ombre look I was going for my nails. The owner Gia however has a horrible disposition. I told her about my experience and she offered me to come back to the nail tech I originally went to. When I said that she couldnt do what I wanted, she told me I had to pick a different design. She also was very combative and did not seem like she wanted to help at all. As a customer, I will never make accommodations to what I want (and will pay for) for a business. Id rather just pay more and get accommodations made for me elsewhere. If you still want to support another black owned business with better quality customer service, I have plenty of recommendations, but I refuse to ever support purple peach nails again.Reply:Never did I say you were disrespectful. Combative? Definitely. In a customer facing business with quality, the business owner is supposed to provide solutions to problems, not argue with potential customers. Its amazinog to see your passion for your business but channeling that passion into helping your customers will yield more business for you I promise that. I also told the tech that did my nails that I would be back because I was running out of time and couldnt stay another hour. I never asked for a discount on service because I understand the importance of business. I actually offered to get a pedicure there even after I was unsatisfied with the body of work because I thought that I could get the service I asked for initially and STILL WANTED TO SUPPORT. Lets not forget that I did call and ask for GIA The day before but you were not in the shop on Friday (which honestly makes no sense if the shop is closed Sunday and Monday and Gia is the only one that can apparently do a decent ombre nails). From what I can see, Gia does quality work but maybe owning a business shouldnt be your career if you are not going to train your staff or tend to the needs of customers stepping into your establishment. Maybe you should pay booth rent and work at someone elses shop. I will still follow you on Instagram so I can provide examples to the nail tech Ill be paying to do my nails. But you too, have a great day 😊Btw I dont want to take away from the original nail tech that did my job because she was a pleasure! Just keep practicing!

RUN! DO NOT SUBJECT YOURSELF TO THIS NIGTHMARE! I visited this establishment today against my better judgement since I had just ate at Taste This. I saw the reviews but I wanted to be optimistic. It seems as if everyone except the owner has zero experience and possibly no license. Forget a license, how about no access to YOUTUBE. Upon walking into the shop, I felt the tension between the technicians. One technician consistently made jokes about another technicians need for guidance from the owner. Well I wasnt so comfortable since the tech she was laughing at was servicing my daughter. Anyway, I had asked the tech servicing me for a fullset of long stilleto nails along with some nail bling. As the tech was filing my nails, I noticed that they were thin and bendable. I informed the tech, and she started slopping on more acrylic. When she started filing again, I informed her they were still bendable. So she hit another round of the acrylic slop. By this point, my nails were of all different shapes. But two were still bendable. The tech stated I shouldnt worry because 2 bendable nails werent a big deal. I spotted the owner about to leave, and I certainly was trying to be left alone with bendable nails and bickering childish techs so I called her over to save the day. She recommended that she fix the bendable nails. The owner worked on my nails only to find the nails still bendable at the tips. The owner recommended that she remove the bendable nails. I was against this because she was only going to repeat the same process thus yielding the same bendable nails. Now here is the funny part, the owner stated that I needed to pay $45 for the 8 out 10 functioning nails full set and $10 to cut them down. After laughing hysterically internally, I convinced this woman that I was not my fault that the full set needed to be cut down, she agreed that I could pay $22. After all, I only received a 2 hour long extra short full set. By 6 hours later, my nails are lifting near the cuticles. And my daughter nails look lumpy. All and all, I am happy to have escaped this nightmare only $37 short. By the way, the owner stated that people only complain about her shop because they are miserable and want to make her miserable. I contend people complain because they are miserable with the service they received and the money/time wasted. I will remove this set and return to my regular nail tech tomorrow. My regular nail tech refused to do long stiletto nails. And she doesnt do nail bling. But at the end of the day, I can do without it!After Owners comment:I think it is sad for an owner to label a client as difficult when they want a full set of functional nails in a nail salon. Also, a short full set and a fill in for $37 is not a discount in the hood of Baltimore City where this nail shop is located. Also, my regular nail tech doesnt do stilleto nails because she caters to a clientele that doesnt normally request stilleto nails. As a result, she is honest about her abilities and only offers services she actually can perform based on real experience. This salon owner should stop wasting her time critiquing the honest opinions of the people who help pay her bills. She should start critiquing the work of herself/staff to be a better business. As she stated, I am a business owner. And I am upfront about the services I can provide to a customer. And if a client requests a service beyond my ability level, I dont waste that clients time/money!The real moral of the story is many people not just me think you have a long way to go to actually call this facility a licensed nail salon.

The actual shop has a really nice vibe but the workspace wasnt the cleanest. Had to make sure I didnt get my sleeve in the coffee spilled on the table where I was getting my fill done. I arrived a few minutes late and still had to wait like 10 minutes. My nail tech Gia seemed cool but wasnt really warm or excited to give me what I wanted. I showed her one pic and asked if she could do it, but she seemed kind of hesitant and said she didnt know if she had the color and crystals for it.. I ask if she could do a different shape and she just said no before explaining that she felt my acrylic had been done too thick previously for that shape once I pressed on... I showed her another pic of a design I thought was simple and suitable to the shape and length I was stuck with and shes like I dont do French and I dont even have that color... what you see on my page, thats what I do... I honestly went bc I liked the shape of her nails and I wanted to support but now Im stuck with this shape AND she cant give me a design I like lol Oh and this is after Im told that MD nail techs dont encapsulate flowers like I had.. So at this point I feel I already have something she couldnt do and they still looked nice so I just got a fill... not crazy about the shape but they still look good. I made an appointment for a Monroe pedi as well and had to wait for another tech to show- not too long. She was nice but a little awkward- talking to herself (Im like what? and she goes nothing) and didnt seem super comfortable giving a pedicure (Struggling to clip my toes straight, catching the jaggedness later, struggling to get the old gel polish on evenly, then almost forgot to cure my gel polish under the lamp before Gia reminded her... just struggle!) I felt bad because the girl who did my pedicure seemed nice so it was rough seeing her struggle like that. Plus putting my feet on a soaking wet cold towel is one of the least desirable experiences ever, I understand towels get wet but hopefully anyone else who visits will not have to go through that. I felt bad for her until they charged me $85 for a fill (no design or paint) & a Monroe Pedicure w old gel polish. I dont mind paying for a nice experience but this wasnt that so Im glad I was able to support but unfortunately will not be returning. I wish them the best and am confident their skill level and customer service will get better with time and experience.

I wouldnt recommend going, I scheduled an appointment at 11:30 am and arrived 10 min before my appointment. The door was locked therefore I called the number on the glass window of the shop. A young lady answered and while on the phone I noticed there was another door to go through I asked if I pulled the wrong one and she interrupted me by saying can I help you ? Then she told me they werent opening yet and were on their way . I had a photo shoot to get to at 1 which is why I scheduled it at 11:30 20 min go by and the nail tech is still not there . Therefore I left and went to a local nail salon I didnt want to visit a local nail salon but I had no choice because I needed them done for the shoot.

I have been here numerous times (as you can see) but im big on consistency and time. I scheduled an appointment thru style seat for 1215 and 100 for a sanitizer and fill in. At 200 only service I received was wrinkled feet from over soaking. Very frustrating!! Especially since she was on the phone talking and laughing while taking a customer that came in after me...very unprofessional in my eyes and a deal breaker. Good luck with your experience...im just sharing mine

I went in for an overlay and received it but within a week my nails started popping off. I tried to support a black owned business but I cant if this is the kind of service you give. The owner was not very inviting she did not make you feel welcome at all!!! If this is not a profession you like find a new one!!!! SAVE YOUR MONEY LADIES!!!!! THERE ARE OTHER BLACK OWNED SALONS OUT THERE!!

I give 1 star because I couldt give Zero starsSAVE YOUR MONEY; DONT GET DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!. The owner/operator Ms Gia has the nastiest attitude, especially when I am spending my money. Her attitude is not very inviting or appreciate of your business.2. 3 days after getting a full set w/ gel polish. 3 nails completely broke off two nails where chipped leaving them lop sided and two nails where detached from the tip which allowed dirt and food to get between my nail and the tip. After I called Gia to let her know what happened she gave me the AND??? attitude and said she would call me back, She never called so I went there. She wasnt there and I waited over an hour. The young lady that was there alone ( I high school student) called her a couple of times to no avail. So she (the young lady) decided to remove my acrylic and repaint my nails (which also looked bad)..To my surprise she asked me to pay. I told her absolutely not. I was there to get the problems fixed from my original full set. I waited for Gia to come to let her know what had happened. She responded with her nasty attitude Go ahead, Go ahead you dont have to pay . I wasnt paying anyway. SAVE YOUR MONEY! READ OTHER REVIEWS AND IT WILL CONFIRM WHAT I AM SAYING!!!!
