By far the worst service I’ve ever had at a pep boys. Went in for an air valve for my tire at 6:30pm and the job wasn’t done until 9. There was two cars ahead of me and I sat in the parking lot and watched as these techs took their sweet time to change a few tires. To make things worst they changed the air valve on my tire then started working on another car before just putting the tire back on my truck. I’d rather spend my money at a mom and pop store before I ever come back to this place. Don’t waste your time coming to this spot.

We were completely stranded with 2 flat tires, and they were willing to stay about an hour after they closed just to help us get new tires, so we could make it home after a 12hour car drive! Such amazing people and staff forever grateful to the kindness they showed us today 🙌

Bad battery and substandard service has been remedied.I received a call from (I’m going to mess up his title) PepBoys Area Manager Paul P. to talk about my experience. He offered a solution and quickly. A day before the call he authorized the return of the defective battery.Yesterday, Eric (store#2411) took over and got my order moving. He introduced me to AGM batteries so I upgraded to an Optima yellow top. It’s a more proven company with the Absorbent Glass Mat technology. I got the yellow top for storing with a charge. After researching Optima Batteries AGM vs Lead Acid and since the dead battery, I’ve opted to install a second battery for back up.During and because the call from Paul P. I decided to stick with PepBoys and order my 2nd battery from them (3rd if you count the dead-batt lol). I’m ordering an Optima red top to run as my primary for more cold cranking amps. The yellow top as a secondary/ back up because it stores well and all the other reasons one might like a deep cycle battery as back up.I’m stoked that Area Manager Paul P and Eric (#2411) at PepBoys chose to help me resolve my battery troubles. I drive a 2003 Chevy 2500HD work truck. I’m going to want friends in the automotive business I can trust.Thanks Paul & Eric at PepBoys.

I went in there needing tires really bad. But the person helping me wasnt very nice didnt hardly talk. If you want my money at least amuse me while I am there. Other than that didnt have my size of tires on sale.

I was the third person at Pep Boys. I was told 45 minutes. I was purchasing 2 tires. 2 hours and 45 minutes later I finally got my car. I watch one mechanic walk around vaping. He was holding conversation with the clerk inside the store. Waiting on the delivery of tires. Worst service I have every recieved. Oh I almost forgot about the lady standing in the service holding conversation who might have worked at Pep Boys.

Made a 10:30 appt., showed up on time. For a spark plug change and tire rotation, didnt start tire rotation till 12:00, didnt get a start plugs till 1:00. Been at work last 30 plus days working 12s, got 4 days off till the next one starts and have to spend one the days here instead of with my family. Would like some comped services!

There is an older gentlemen there and he helped me with my brake light. Very nice man.. will be back.

Pep boys was a great experience...friendly service...great people...great store

I usually come here because they have good service but I was very disappointed today. I had my truck towed here left it all day only for them to tell me they dont work on diseal trucks an hour before closing. Wasted a whole day and I need my truck for work how disappointing. I understand they probably have a lot of work but a simple question of what kind of vehicle do you have would have saved time and effort and would have seeked service else where.

This Pep Boys location is still open, although I havent been inside since Covid started in March of this year. I stopped by to see if I could get my tires checked before getting on the road. I was a little concerned because my tires were maybe two months old and I kept seeing a low pressure warning. Javi helped me and he was amazing. He checked my tires promptly and explained that the recent drastic temperature drops were throwing off my sensors. He was very helpful and professional. I noticed everyone was following all the safety measures due to yet another covid lockdown in Bakersfield and the rest of California. Grateful and praying for all essential workers and businesses.

Fast and friendly like it should be

Our RV had a tire blow out. We called several places who didn’t have the tire. We talked to Henry and he fixed us right up. Busy place but exceptional service.

My car broke down while I was traveling so I got towed to Pep Boys. They determined it would be the next day before they could replace my water pump, fan belt and radiator so they paid for my ride to a hotel. They were very nice and I got home safely. And I got a senior discount!

Ive been shopping at the Pep Boys on 24th street since the mid-eighties. I was completely disappointed with customer service today. I might give it another try tomorrow or Ill just go to Rileys Auto Parts

Which one I stopped at two places one made a key the other one didnt the one on 23rd Street doesnt make keys the one up on the east side does. Valuable service making car keys Id stay with it

Awful Customer Service! Had an appointment for new tires, took them over 3 hours. Tip can someone give Robert in the Service department Customer service training, hes rude and does not know how to speak to customers properly. Also they do not have enough service techs scheduled to work on vehicles!

I had a blown tire. Pep Boys was the ONLY place that was open with the size tire the Jeep Compass needed. Henry and the staff at F street was very professional and helpful. I appreciate them working on a Sunday, while all other tire shops were closed. Big Thank You to Henry, staff and PEP BOYS. Today, you all were my heroes!!

Free battery and alternator checks. Priced a bit high unless you get a good sale. I got a very good battery at a good price. The service manager will work with you if you dont have a lot of time and are waiting there. Good selection.

This Bakersfield Pep Boys is still a full service store complete with retail. Its a great store, Pep Boys carries auto products others do not and higher end products. I hope Pep Boys leaves this store as it is.

We were towed to this facility about an hour before it opened. The staff was quite friendly and diagnosed the situation and got the part (fuel pump) installed properly in short order. We had no appointment and they were kind enough to work us in. We are very grateful for their wonderful customer service.

We were looking for something specific and were directed to an aisle and couldnt find it. It was difficult to get another employee to help us, finally caught up with another employee who was able to take us directly to the item. It just might have helped if the cashier called someone to help us rather than just directing us, since it was kind of hidden in the display.

I may share details depending on how the manager handles this situation. Im Not real happy with them at the moment. Ive been doing business with this company for over 40 years with no problems. So I will give the manager a chance to fix this problem. I have good faith in them I hope it stands.

Pep boys has the best service! I was broke down in Bakersfield and got towed by AAA there. I needed a new starter. I was in at 1:30 and done and back on my way home to Tehachapi by 3:15! Not only is there customer service excellent but there extra mile kindness was really appreciated. THANK YOU! ❤

The guys in the cervice center were very nice. The problem is the pricing. I payed $322 for 2 parts that I found at 2 other Auto Parts stores for $92 dollars total. I cant believe they are so expensive. I would recommend the $19.99 diagnostics/ service. Antonio was very nice.

I stopped in for windshield wipers and was greeted by an employee who was eager to help within a minute or two of me being there. I was impressed by that. The employee that rang me up was about as friendly as a brick wall. He didnt say anything to me and he couldnt or had a hard time counting back change even though the register told him how much to give back.

This place is almost a landmark. While other auto parts stores come and go. Pep Boys still remains standing. The times that I have personally gone in, the staff has been more than helpful. They don t hover over you , or try and sell you something you don t need. Yes , they get busy at times , but have a little patience, and you ll probably find yourself coming back to the store again...Let s not forget about those individuals in the Service dept!!!! These are the individuals that are keeping you safe on the road , treating your vehicle with great care and professionalism, making you feel special that you took your vehicle to them in the first place.

Got an oil change and tires rotated. I do not recommend you go to Pep Boys on F street. The idiot put 26 pounds of air in all 4;tires. I checked and it clearly states 36 pounds front and rear! Nothing scarier than driving on Highway in fast lane and have a light on dash stating low tire pressure in one or more tires

Good ol Pep Boys. I needed something simple done. I didnt know how to change my tail light on my new Hyundai Sonata. They showed me how to do it, then did the work. Very good attitudes❤👏

I got a flat at 6 pm on Saturday! Most tire shops close at 6 pm! I thought I was stuck ‘til Monday. My AAA tow truck driver suggested Pep Boys. I hadn’t thought of them! I called and even though by now it was 7:15 and they close at 8, they said “get here and we’ll help you”! Well Steve found a tire that was reasonable price and would go with my others. All done at 8 pm! Thank you guys!

HORRIBLE! I took my car here for a simple oil change, and not only did they charge me for all sorts of extra things that I did not ask for ($53 total) but my car leaked oil upon leaving, which it had never done before. A couple days after my initial visit, I brought my car back- citing the oil leak since their oil change and the guy looked me straight in the eye and asked me if I had been running my AC...seriously? I told him that the leak was NOT water. As if Im stupid because Im female. He said theyd look at it. An hour later, the guy behind the counter came and brought me the plug to my gas tank and showed me that the threads on it had been stripped due to someone tightening it too far when they changed my oil. He then informed me that a new plug would not solve the oil leaking problem- that NOW I needed to replace the ENTIRE oil tank, which costs $200 for JUST the part- thats not including labor! He tried to insinuate that this damage was caused by the last person who changed my oil, and I reminded him that my car never leaked until I brought it here and he told me that was a coincidence. Then he offered to put in a new oil tank for me, of course, and I told him no. As if. In short, this Pep Boys cost me an extra $400 or so when all I wanted was an oil change from them. Not to mention the HORRIBLE customer service....I was treated like a stupid female who doesnt know anything and taken advantage of. Im NOT happy. I wouldnt recommend them to my worst enemy.

I came in for an alignment today when nobody was here and had an appointment set up. when arriving i gave the keys after paperwork to start working and it took them more then a hour and a half ...... when no cars were there .. to do a simple alignment.... glad i had a voucher for service because i would never spend my money here

I love the tires i purchased from Pep Boys, they were mounted and balanced and when i hopped into my truck and took off i was amazed. My Silverado drove like a dream, it didnt pull in either direction when i applied the brakes or when driving in a straight line and removing my hands from the wheel.

Im not sure which one of the pep boys location wise but roy was an outstanding rep. We literally were 3 hrs from home and we ended up losing all of our oil of the car. We went everywhere and no where would take a look at it until the next day and so we pulled in to pep boys and Roy saw the oil from the shop and said I gotta take a look at it and he did he ended up fixing the problem and getting us back on the road!!! Thank you so much Roy for being that yes for us! You sir deserves the utmost respect for being professional and giving us a resolution. Thank you !!!

On our way from California to PHILADELPHIA, pa my sisters car develop break problems. It was late afternoon on a Sunday. Men at pep boys could not have been nicer. Work on car done quickly. Guys got us a ride from pep boys to and from hotel. Very good guys.

Former employee of a different location disclaimer. Joey, Henry, and Antonio and the rest of the service department are on point. Got my tire plugged fast when I was in a jam last year and got a Lyft inspection done in nothing flat for me last week. Parts and delivery drivers always getting it done too. Great service.

The staff is always friendly helpful fast. Lots of great products for ur car or they can order for u. But is it really necessary to be eating ur chips n soda while u r tending to ur customers? maybe they need more breaks.

I have 3 vehicles and have been using pep boys for 15 years , the service at f st location is the worst ive ever experienced , I will never bring my vehicles here again , it took 6 days for a oil change and tune up and when I came to pick up the vehicle it wouldn’t start , pep boys called me 3 times to come pick up my vehicle and each time it wouldn’t start , the vehicle was running fine when I brought it to them but now it’s costing me $$$ to get my vehicle back. I was extremely mad at this point customer service and corporate did not a thing to resolve the problem nor gave me any kind of credit. You get what you pay for pep boys is cheap because the work quality is low and the parts are the cheapest china made parts around, spend a little more and get the work done by real professionals. Trust me

Great auto service center!!! Went in for an oil change and Antonio took me right in. No appointment by the way. They found a few issues with my car but were able to repair it while I waited. Great customer service Antonio!!! I will be back!!!

I used the PepBoys website to my item. I was able to pick it up at the front desk with out a problem. It was fast and easy.

Fast and cheap service. Just be aware of what they tell you to fix, they will try sell you to fix a bunch of stuff. Get a different opinion before you do anything.

Great customer service. Parts people know their stuff. They have have a nice little waiting room while your car gets serviced.

Went for oil change they said itll be a 2hr wait, there were no cars in the bay... and as i drove by notice employees sitting around!SMH

I have mixed feelings on this location. My front tire blew out, the spare blew out a few miles later, on a holiday weekend. This was Monday after the holiday. by the time I got the car towed it was about 7:30 P.M. I needed to buy two new tires. They showed me the tires that they had in stock, that would fit my car. I purchased two tires and was watching them as they were working on my car. They kept looking at the back tires. I questioned why they were looking at them so closely. They said that they would make it back to my home. I questioned that did they need replacing now? At that point, I asked the pricing on 4 tires instead of the 2 that I had purchased. They never stated that they on sale when 4 are purchased. If 4 are purchased it would only be $18 more. Result, mixed feelings for this location.

I would give them six stars if possible. These guys provide excellent customer service. They once removed the decaying remains of a cat from the innermost nooks of my vehicles engine compartment in the middle of a Bakersfield summer (the unfortunate thing had taken refuge there, unbeknownst to me, and was dismembered when the vehicle started). My car was enveloped in the stench of death! I needed help from professionals, and they took care it. What they did took not only professional skill but a strong stomach and an even stronger resolve to serve their customers. I am forever in their debt.

Let me tell you about this place. The manager was the most excellent customer service representative I have ever come across in any industry. Although I cannot remember his name, this guy gave me a discount on a new car battery, came out to my car uninstalled my old one told me what was wrong with it and reinstalled my new one with his own tools. I will always come back here as long as hes working there

One of my favorite auto parts store in town. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and they usually have all the parts I need for my old Jeep.

I always order anything I want online because the PepBoys website always has 25-35% off coupons. I order online, go in, pick up everything at the front counter, done. Its pretty simple and easy. Never ran into a problem ordering.

They did everything I asked them to in a very timely manner. More pricey than what I would have expected. But I guess thats just everywhere and Id better get used to it

Really bad guy on the front register

They have been so helpful when I needed a light bulb replaced on my car.

I came in to get a break job done and after being told that itd only take an hour, I was stuck there for 4 hours. As I started driving around, I heard squeaking from the breaks. Went back to have them adjusted, but still had squeaking. Now, my driver side break pad is too tight and is causing a huge vibration throughout my entire truck. I called them to just come in real quick, but all they want to do is give me an appointment 2 weeks out.

I had to replace my battery. Ive been in a warranty agreement in battery purchases since 2003 on this 2001 vehicle. Have always been charge warranty amount. In 2012 l paid 12$. Today l was told policy has changed. That purchase would depend on original purchase date. I told him then that would be 2003. He gave me a copy of the policy but thats not what it says. It state only 1 free replacement during a purchase period. I purchased this battery July 2016. He said he was going to do me a favor n charged me about $70.00. I asked for manager he said he was manager. I asked for store manager and he told me store manager could not help me that he was tne manager. Pep Boys F Street Bakersfield. His name is Joey. Store manager is going to call me Monday.... Ive done business with them over 20 years ans never heard such. He even told me you dont buy a 60... 90 month battery you buy a battery n the warranty you choose. Ive never heard such. Surprise battery on the side states free battery replacement within 3 years!!!!!...

Theyll swap out your battery or tires in a heartbeat and honor your warranty. No BS.

Found just what I was looking for at a good price.

My family and I have been frequent customers at this Pep Boys location for the past few years and been very satisfied.

Went in for my first and last time. Came for a simple tire change and bought a nicer tire, drove away and noticed they put the cheapest tire on and wrong size as well. Took an hour to change out 2 tires?!? Im back again wasting more time and no compensation for wasting my time. If they cant get a simple tire change right theres no way Id ever trust them to do any serious repairs. I feel like they were trying to rip me off. The price of the 2 tires they installed was the price of 1 tire I had payed for or maybe the installer just doesnt pay attention. I noticed a day later that one of the installed tires was under inflated by 10-12 pounds. I could get better service in a Walmart parking lot.

This is the Downtown location on 24th Street. They have a pretty big store here on 24th. They also have a full auto service department here as well. Very good customer service as well.
