Went here yesterday thinking my cuckoo clock that hadnt worked in years could be fixed. Instead, he hung it and for some strange reason, it worked! Didnt charge me a penny when he could easily have said it was broken. Ill definitely come back when needed, simply for the honesty displayed-not to mention all the cool stuff in the showroom! Thanks Vlad!

Took my verge fusee watch to Austin Old Timers. Owner spoke with me extensively about my watch and its components. Extremely knowledgeable owner who gave me more information than I could have hoped for! Refreshing to know there are still people out there who appreciate old school workmanship! I recommend this business for anyone needing watch or clock repair and am in his debt!

I took my Movado watch for repairs, and was charged nearly $150 for them. It appeared to be working fine for a week or so, and then it would stop sporadically. Since I live out of town, I was never able to take it back.

Not happy with this experience. A lot of things went wrong. First they say that the watch will be ready next week on Thursday. I hear nothing on Thursday. I call on Monday. Answering machine tells me that they’re closed for the next two weeks. When I finally get the watch the new glass they put in is damaged. I go back and they replace it. I then realize that there are dirt particles inside the watch, on the inside of the glass. At this point I have so little confidence in them that I don’t want to take it back to have them get rid of the dirt inside. I was charged sales tax on the entire cost of the repair, some of which should be tax exempt since part of the cost is labor. I will take my watch to another store to have the dirt inside the glass removed.

Excellent service at a competitive price. Vlad was extremely personable and you can tell he has a genuine passion for what he does. While waiting for my repair, he showed me some of the most unique watches they had and also explained to me some of the features of my own watches, which I never even knew about. Highly recommended!

Old Timer has been talkin care of my 40 year old Rolex for the past 10 years. They have done a great job over the years and recently my watch went in to have the timing accuracy reset. They did not charge me for this and when I went to pick the watch up, I noticed that the crystal that had a few scratches on it looked brand new. They did not replace it, but the did polish it such that it looked brand new. I did not ask them to do this, they just did it, and also no charge. What a place!

Wonder location and awesome service. Stopped in to ask about an old Regulator wall clock someone had gifted me a year ago. Mr. Everett said it was in decent shape and just needed a key, so I bought one. We made such great acquantaince that we made plans to grab coffee and talk shop soon. This is where you want to go for clock or watch repair or restoration. Times a ticking.

Back in my day, in the 1960s, you get your timepiece fixed for a fairly reasonable cost. You could then proceed to stroll down a few blocks, and in a few paces you would reach the most delightful little shop. You could but some delectable ice creams for the children. But nowadays all these new fangled places have popped up and the Sweet Ice Cream Shop has closed. If you want to open back Sweet Ice Cream Shop, contact me. I have a plan...

The care and expertise of the Old Timer Clock shop with the Coo Coo Clock Id found in family heirlooms was beyond words of praise. It has problems, many problems, and it wasnt an easy fix, or inexpensive. It took time, and several times to find the problems within the mechanics of the clock to get it finally -- finding all the loose gears, the moving parts that werent staying where they belonged -- to get it right. What happened, finally success was achieved. Now I have a Coo Coo clock that I reference with the GPS time piece of satellite input. remarkable, that the mechanical timing of the clock, and the electronically radio timing of the satellite are exactly inn sync. There are no words to say thanks for a great job, well done!

I brought in a brand new Moto 360 watch to have some links removed. I cant speak for every employee at the store but the woman who took my watch was terrible. She was throwing my watch around on the table with no patience to do it the right way. She lost a pin and destroyed the screen protector on the face. The customer service is terrible and this store is also more expensive than any other in the area. If you care about your watch being handled professionally and with care, I would not go here.

A Google search doesnt make it clear, but this place is part of Old Timer Clocks (which has several reviews). I just got my stretchy watch band resized here. The work seems to be well done (as I would expect, although Ive had problems elsewhere with this), but at $15 it was a bit pricier than I would have liked for a non-expensive watch. Also, it took a really long time. I had to drop it off one morning and pick it up the next day. The whole process really should have taken 20 minutes or less -- its not difficult if you have watch repair tools.

I would definitely recommend going to Old Time for any of your watch fixing needs. I brought it in and within 5 mins, they changed the battery in the watch my wife gave me for my wedding gift. A few hours later, it stopped. I popped back in there to see if they could figure out what was wrong. 10 mins later he came out and my watch working, good to go. No additional charge for him resetting the hands and doing some light maintenance.

Left an expensive Rolex watch for cleaning and inspection. Cost was supposed to be $100. Came back the following week and was told That will be $500 please. I disagreed, they threatened to keep the watch. $500 later I have my watch back. Will never do business with this dishonest shop again. Buyer beware.

I used Old Time for years and had good experiences but I think they are under new management. Went into today with a broken watch and the guy didnt even touch it just told me it couldnt be fixed. At least the folks at the mall opened it up and told me it was a broken spring based on xy and z. So Im done with these guys sadly

Do not bring your antique wrist watches here! Brought in 2 antique wrist watches (1919 Elgin) and (1918 Illinois) and both stopped working within 1 week of service. I brought the Illinois back and waited 9 months for a warranty repair yes 9 MONTHS and guess what, within 1 week the watch has stopped working again! I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt because I know antique watches can be fickle but this is where I draw the line. A waste of time and money bringing antique wrist watches here!

I dont know what to tell you. I can just say that in the end my magnificent French Empire Pendulum Clock (1805) still doesnt run. Heres how it unfolded...When I walked in with it, their jaws all dropped simultaneously. I was immediately told the piece was quite valuable. By chance the founder and prior owner was in the shop and they all goo-gooed over the internal workings of the device.I had it cleaned, $195. But when I got it home, a brass piece fell loose. I took it back immediately. They kept it nearly 3 weeks without calling and when I called to asked if fixed they said, just about to call you....its ready! But when I got out there a new problem had developed and they wanted to keep it another few days. That turned into another several weeks, so I called and got the same spiel, ...just about to call you, its ready, come on out. They put it on the counter and ran it so Id know it was running. Suspiciously, the time was at 8:30 even though the real hour of the day was noon. That was a red flag. I had them forward the hands there to be sure it was done correctly, brought it home, put the pendulum and bell on it, gave the pendulum a push and it started running ... for 5 minutes. Thats the most it will run.Now fair is fair. When I took it out I didnt know if it was running or not. This time when I picked it up the repairman, Marion, told me it had been running since you last left, which would mean for 3 weeks at least. Funny in those 3 weeks they wouldnt have wanted the clock to be running at the right hour. Maybe repairmen dont care about such things; I know I would. So frankly, Im not buying it. I think they lost a piece or didnt re-assemble it correctly. Why? Because they were only paid to oil and clean it (which they didnt TOUCH the case, which was quite dirty, so who knows if they actually oiled it either). After oiling it they surely must have started it to see how it was running. If it wasnt running and wasnt their fault, wouldnt they have said, Theres unfortunately something wrong. Weve oiled and cleaned and started it running but it wont keep running? Of course.Even taking it back in the second time and fixing the broken piece, they should have said, BTW, we failed to let you know it isnt running...so even when this broken piece is fixed youre probably going to require other repair. And they didnt. So Im not in a position to say they did anything wrong but I am in a position to say that comments youd have expected them to make were not made. Plus, Marion telling me Its running beautifully! and that it had been since I left 3 weeks ago, only to get home and find it not working -- again -- makes be believe this shoppe is NOT to be trusted with really complex mechanisms. They made a quick $195 off oiling and cleaning -- and didnt bother to clean the case?I wouldnt go back, much as I was attracted to everyones personality.LATER STILL:I decided to keep giving the pendulum a push when the clock stops, only to discover when I do that it will swing a bit and then wobble like crazy like its hit a bump in the road and then stop. Trying to swing it again to the left, it will swing, but if to the right, theres a momentary stopping place, something stopping it. So after 2-3 such attempts, Ive stopped trying, afraid whatever is wrong might become an even worse problem. No, wouldnt take it back there for anything, even for free.AND STILL LATER:The trick used by the shop is, on pickup day, they put the clock on the counter, give it a swing and it ticks. Youre sure that means its fixed. But it may not be. Tell them youd like to watch it run for at least 10 minutes. Any non-working pendulum clock can be made to tick for 60 seconds without stopping, so dont be fooled into thinking just because your repaired clock ticks that long that its now working. Not necessarily! If its still running in 10 minutes, youre probably ok.
