If I could do zero stars I would....We were pre-approved for a lease and told we had 30 days toprovide the one month payment and that would also give us timeto view the property once it became available. The leasing agentMarie was very nice. Then on 9/29 we were added to a waitlist toview and a rep Reesa said the property had been available allweek for PUBLIC VIEWING. She suggested we call the viewing company to update the system. We called the viewing company whichsaid they cant do anything to help us. We called msrenewal back andcarine said we had to pay $1700 in order to view the property but also said if we were a random couple we can JUST HAVE ACCESS TO THE PUBLIC VIEWING WITHOUT PAYMENT. She changed her story many times in the conversation; over-talked us many times while we were trying to ask a question, then all of a sudden didnt have to pay, she told us she would transfer us to the leasing department then said she wont transfer us and we can just email them and finally I asked to speak to her manager to get clarity but she refused to transfer us speak to a manager after whispering why maam?. I said to my husband why is she lying and she loudly said I am not lying and my manager said she cant talk to you. I told her I would make a complaint, and then carine said go ahead, do what you want. As a former manager that constantly did employee development and handled customer complaints to keep customer relationships her behavior wouldve resulted in a coaching session, me shadowing her to assure her prior behavior did not continue, taking over that particular situation to help the customer and if this was a pattern of hers then it would be a write up. Her actions could have easily been avoided. If she did not know an answer which happens just say I do not know and if she was not able to do something then simply say I am unable to do that but can find someone that can help you. NO continuously change you answer and once you anger a potential customer you then happily tell them to go ahead and make a complaint to whoever they want. That is ridiculous. We just heard about this company and I am shocked by this behavior!

So far, its still early (the lease doesnt officially even start for 5 more days) the process has been very thorough. However, I wish there was more human, live interaction. Doesnt seem very personal when we can only communicate via email with someone at the local office.It would be nice to know we could talk to the local agents/office on the phone if we need to instead of the local number being routed to a call center out of state.

Im not one to leave reviews in general. However, ill do so solely to avoid having anyone else experience the headaches that MS Renewal really is. We were sold on their easy to use website. Once the application was paid thats where we lost communication. Hold times are over 30 minutes to get to the correct department. Each department does not know what the other is doing. The acceptability criteria resulted in us getting denied twice. $450 and 3 weeks in we still did not have a place. Every house seems to become unavailable right away even after submitting an application. I can sit here and rant all night, but in short stay away from this company.

Everyone I had the displeasure of interacting with at this company is beyond incompetent. I should also add that I am not a renter, I am a homeowner who’s property was sold to this company. I couldn’t imagine being one of their tenants. If you’re looking at reviews because a home you’re interested in is leased through Mainstreet renewal, just keep looking. I definitely do not recommend using Main Street Renewal. Im attempting to move in with my fiance who already lives in one of their houses. Her roommate is leaving, and I am joining. I am well qualified to live here, yet the process has taken 8 weeks and counting with the new lease start being only a week away now with still no progress or updates. I cannot get responses or questions answered and have been following up for over a month. There is nothing in my application that should be holding this up.I cant tell if MSR is so completely swamped that they cannot manage their properties or if they simply have some disinterested individuals working for them, but this is awful.

Would give 0 stars if that was possible. Submitted application with $100 fee and didnt hear anything for almost 2 weeks. There is no was to get in touch with a person though I tried calling/emailing waiting on hold for hours. We finally gave up and went with another company that approved our application in just a few HOURS provided us a local contact and excellent customer service.

We sold our home to this company in May. We received a statement in August stating that we owe rent on said home! And we are two months behind with a late fee! We (my husband and I and our real estate agent) have been trying to contact MS for a few days and of course, no response. Would NOT recommend this company for anything!!

Honest review:Move in is very easy, customer care is super sweet.After you move in is a completely different story. Most reviews here seem to be from people who have just moved in, which explains the high star rating. They do not deserve it.I have rented from 10 companies and this one is worse than I ever could have expected, (and Ive rented an apartment in Russia!)Any review from a tenant who has moved out are all 1 star for a reason. 50% of the time or more they will not do any repairs that have been requested. They will say its not their fault, not covered, or that someone already repaired that when they have not. They do not issue full security deposits back under any circumstances as they charge the tenant for normal cleaning and repairs after the tenant has left.

Main Street take applications from multiple applicants, on the same property. This is robbery and not fair to the future resident. I will never recommends Main Street. Main Street left me homeless. I apply for my first property and they leased it from under me second and third property. I hated this experience with Mainstreet.

Have blower motor went out early Monday morning 8/2/21. Here we are today 8/6/21 on the blower motor is still not replaced. We have rented with msr for 3 years and will never do again. The service is ridiculous. It is almost impossible to get ahold of anyone. I called a total of 19 times to see what was going on and only today were we given the option to relocate. In Arizona it is well over 100 outside and in the high 90s in the house now in the am. No portable ac was given to my family even though there is a law stating the landlord must provide az 33-1361 Noncompliance by the landlord . To add the chery on top. Our a/c unit was repaired 8/7/21 , after pleeding with the ac company they moved us up to emergency status. To add to the incompetence of this companys communication, I recieved a email on the 10th of august stating mybrelocation would be extended until the 13. The house had been repaired for 3 days already. No one there has any idea whats going on. This company is litteraly being ran by a hand book. No one that you can actuay get ahold of cares , additionaly they try to push you off to the internet portal. Stay away from these guys you will regret it .

The absolute worst experience in my life!!! No one ever responds to their contact us messages. No one ever responds to emails. Return calls take HOURS and never resolve the problem! They took my deposit and somehow misapplied it is somewhere out in their bookkeeping land and my side of the website not only continues to show that I have late in paying (I am NOT I pay early!) I get the wonderful gift of being charged a late fee EVERY month. I then have to waste HOURS AND HOURS of my time to get it reversed. This month they surprised me with charging me an electrical fee - what the f for I have no clue - no one will answer me. Because Im getting a late charge Im sure they are reporting every month that Im a terrible tenant who doesnt pay.EDITTED TO ADD AFTER OWNER RESPONSEI have contacted the wecare and I have contacted residentcare email addresses - NO ONE responds, NO ONE cares (you really need to remove that from your email address). My account continues to show over $2,000 past due and it is WRONG, you have the money you ridiculous system misapplied it and evidently its unfixable, so I will have to go through HOURS of my wasted time explaining EVERY SINGLE MONTH why you have to reverse the late fees! I email 30 PAGES of emails and website contacts this morning (7/9/21) NOTHING!!!

On the morning of 2/25/21 i followed my normal morning routine hygiene and food. At 11:15 I went till fill my tea cup with water and found there was no water. I called the support number to inquire if there was a Utility problem i was not warned of.. The person said there were no issues on the system but she would have someone get back to me. Assuming there must be a outage I called my local water co. The rep advised me my water service had been shut off. I immediately called back and spoke to another rep . I clearly advised her of my situation and frustration.. Simply put : paid for water its cutoff.(Very Angry and frustrated ) I requested to speak with a Manager/supervisor and was advised they would have some one call me back. within 1 hour. 90mins latter No one called me back. I called again and spoke with a wonderful rep named Blanca M . She put my concerns to rest and contacted the department responsible for Utilities and assured me the problem would be promptly corrected and offered a follow up call back to check on me . At 4:15 my water service was restored. As promised at 5 she called me back she handled my frustration extremely well and most importantly DID WHAT SHE PROMISED!

This business preyed upon my family & our terminally ill child. Businesses that lack a moral compass should be forced to close. I give this company ZERO stars. In all of the years I have rented homes, I have never encountered a company as incompetent as MSRenewal. I have had issues since day one that have ended up costing me money. They are not receptive, they do not answer phone calls, they do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to make any process easy for the tenant. They love to take money from you though. I have had renters insurance for years, and I sent them all the paperwork and jumped through their 1 million hoops. I have been living here for 6 weeks and they now say I did not comply with the renters insurance and they are charging me a $25 non refundable fee as well as the monthly fee for renters insurance for my state. I have called, emailed and waited for a return call with resolution. Still waiting!! I tried calling the corporate headquarters, guess what? No one even answers the phone there!! Next step is a lawyer for me!!

The house we rent from this company is great. It was exactly what we were looking for. It was on the higher end of our budget but we decided to go with it. The customer service has been terrible. We didn’t have proper running water for 2 1/2 months. We keep getting rescheduled for our maintenance request. The when their guy finally showed up. He didn’t even know how to fix our water. They had to call a plumber to come out anyways. Now a year into our lease and time to renew. They have decoders to raise our rent by $100. They won’t let us sign a lease longer than one year and told us it would go up again next year. It’s in the fine print we were told. Page 109 of our lease agreement. We like the house just a terrible manage t company. So beware and make sure to ready everything they give you.

I wish I could give this no stars. I have been dealing with this people since March 9, 2021. I have been asking to speak to a supervisor since 3/17/21 and haven’t spoken to one yet. I was told one was going to contact me by the end of business and that hasn’t happened. Then the person working on my application giving out wrong information. Housing do not take 45-60 to do an inspection. She needs to be retrained. It’s horrible you can’t talk to no one on the phone in the housing department all they know is emails. FRAUDULANT COMPANY!! I was supposed to move into a residence on 2/19/2021. Upon moving in I discovered the house was flooded in multiple areas, rendering it uninhabitable. I have reached out in regards to this for a month now with no response from upper management, and still there has been absolutely no response! Nothing in regards to my funds returned, no lease breaking update, and no updates as to the progress of the repairs on the house. I want my $2,000+ back that Ive paid. Im now without housing and am currently tied into an uninhabitable house/lease. Avoid this company at all costs!! They have super shady business practices!

Customer service reps have not been able to answer my questions regarding the utilities associated my account. They forward my requests to “the department that handles that” and I have to wait two business days for a response. As a current resident in one of their properties I was expecting faster service.I was told my utility account information had not been provided and threatened with utility shutoff. I have provided all required documentation yet this is still an issue and has not been resolved. I’m starting to become concerned for the remainder of my lease as to the quality of issue resolution.

This company bought our property from another company a few years ago, not once has anyone from the new company come to do a walk through to see what they bought. I submitted a work order, stating that due to a leak, the carpet was lifted and had bugs underneath. I let them know that I pulled the padding where the bugs were and their solution was to steam clean, which left my house smelling and carpet crusty. My carpet is still lifted and falling apart. Ive expressed other concerns and they do the least. Due to the condition of the house, to renew my lease, my rent would be raised $100. I asked that someone from the company come do a walk through and if the new rate could be revised. They responded with taking $10 off........

I have been trying to get my oven and stove fixed for almost a month now and no one has been helpful I’ve been hung up on and people saying they will call me back and never do or just plain canceling my work order and not telling me why or fixing the problem and I’ve had numerous people tell me they would reopen my work order and they never do this company I’m sorry but is a joke and not helpful at all

Sally Martin is THE most competent, useful, helpful, knowledgeable employee Ive worked with at Mainstreet. She gives very timely and helpful responses to emails, even with an issue outside her department. Ive been using her as my primary contact because she gets things done. Please see she gets a pat on the back, and more importantly, a nice pat on her paycheck. If I would have found her earlier, I may still be a MainStreet customer. The main reason I didnt renew was poor customer service.

I should have read the reviews before submitting my application. This place is by far the best place to rent from. I put an application in on the 18th of this month and was told it would take 3-5 days to get a call about my application. Time had came and gone. I called the (855) # thought that I was going to get an answer. Why does it take you over 40 minutes to speak to someone about your application status just so they can tell you that they can send a note over to the application office. An office that don’t reply back. I’m supposed to be waiting on Anna Calanello from HCV leasing to call, but never heard from her.

Absolutely impossible to deal with if you need to be relocated while work is being done on your home. We had black mold and water damage issues where we needed to be relocated, they didnt relocate us and we had to pay out of pocket. No reimbursement as of yet. Theres a reason these people have a 1 out of 5 on the better business bureau website. Awful just awful.

I called for service maintenance. I submitted one online and called to follow up to get an update. I speak in a great tone when I call companies too. I worked in customer service and understand the frustration from ignorance. So She places me on hold for 20 mins to “see the status”, then hangs up. Never touches back with me at all to see if I’m ok. So I call back and I instantly recognize her voice. I tell her “hey its you again and you hung up on me”. And guess what she did? SHE HUNG UP AGAIN. I never leave reviews. Someone needs to pull that call and get her off the phones. She does not belong in your customer service department.

I hate that we consider renting here. Day one of move in we had problem. After paying everything they asked of us to move in, they still told us that we have a pool balance and no one can tell us why, but they still want us to pay it. The pool company that they have chosen is not consistent every week, but we have to pay an extra $150 for pool service. We call and call about issues, and you cant talk to anyone directly and when you do they have to send someone else and email about your problem and that doesnt go anywhere. I dont recommend anyone renting from mainstreet.

One of the worst companies and one of the least reliable.  They took a month to fix the flooding of the toilets in the house, then they promise to waive the rent that month in which we had to live in deplorable conditions, and they ended up charging as if nothing had happened.  We left some valuable belongings to collect at the end of the move and without prior notice they changed the locks and did not return the belongings, claiming that there was nothing already on the property, and a neighbor saw the company removing the belongings. Will not recommend this company to anyone here in Kentucky.

Hmmm where to start. Maintenance requests after Maintenance request goes unanswered in phone, email and even in in app. Going on two months now my roof needs to be repaired because water leaked from the evaporative cooler causing a leak on the side room where now there is mold in a part of the ceiling where it collapsed. I repeat two months!!!Time after time, I’ve been told this issue has been referred to one of two local third party vendors- Vendor A has NEVER responded to an MSRenewal request- has told us frankly they never have any intention of coming here. They have never even acknowledged receipt one single work order. They say they’ve told MSRenewal this- to no avail.When we finally reach offshore representatives, they switch the vendor to Vendor B- a local handyman service- WHO HAVE ALSO STATED THEY HAVE NO INTENTION OF COMING TO COMPLETE REPAIRS UNTIL THE MOLD IS REMEDIATED.MSRenewal response? To send a mold remediation request....To the same two vendors.We have an open ceiling, exposing beams and black mold into our living space. It has been months.—-This is to say nothing of the out of code electrical, and the nonreimbursement of out of pocket money we spent so that we could have power when the exposed wiring finally gave out to the summer sun. Nothing to say of all this- and being charged $200 for a battery change out- on a call regarding our furnace (which still constantly goes out and was never actually addressed...) The list goes on- but this review won’t.—-MSRenewal is interested in gentrifying income vulnerable neighborhoods- but not even remotely interested in maintaining the homes there.We love our home and never want to leave but...Beware. Even with perfect payment history they do not care about tenants.

It is February 11. Ive been waiting since DECEMBER 2 for a promised refund of $120. Ive called 10 times about the same issue, minimally. I was currently on hold and was for 27 minutes, only for a rep to pick up the phone and hang it up. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY. He listened to my problem then immediately explained potential solutions, and offered to remain a point of contact through resolution. My water heater went out & I felt like I was being given the run around my every agent I talked to at MSR until I email MSR & maintance. I had been calling since Wed 9.9.20. & finally emailed everyone I could think of on Thursday 9.10.20 Once I email Emily Kierman responded within 15 minutes. She is AMAZING - She kept her word, she got my work order rolling - THEY WANTED ME TO ORIGINALLY WAIT UNTIL 9.28.20 --- REALLY! No hot water for 3 weeks - Nooooo...She got in contact with Ready Home who called THAT day ( and said they would come out either that day or the next) Ready House came out Friday - they kept in touch with me about their arrival & worked into the WEEEEEEE hours of Saturday morning to get my water heater installed & get me back hot water. Emily & Ready House did an amazing job & I am glad that I got to them. Customer Service is so important nowadays & I felt like I HAD been getting NON-CUSTOMER SERVICE until Emily responded. Communication is the key in ALL relationships & Emily & Ready House communicated & made me feel like I was important! Thank you,Tina McCullough

This place has perpetually not responded to requests. Lost proof of insurance 5 times (and it was emailed, so that is a pretty impressive amount of loss) and told everytime since we hadnt provided proof of insurance we had a fine (even though we had provided proof every time and before moving in). Contacted them 3 months prior to lease end to renew. Got told multiple different things to do. Did all the things. Company couldnt find any paperwork sent and emailed. Told me to do different things. They still couldnt find the new paperwork sent. One week out from lease end, was told that they could fix everything after lease end date only if I paid them an extra $300 for not sorting our the renewal in time because they were being nice and not kicking us out. Called multiple times, was told Id be called back, which I only ever got a return call once at close of business for them and they were like, well now we dont have time. But, forget to mow the lawn for a week and you instantly get fined. Total scam artists.

We moved in the house we rented for the great value in the area. The first problem we had was the urine smell in the entire house. We were reassured that this would be corrected prior into moving in. On the day the movers arrived, nothing had been done about the urine smell. They sent someone out and to clean the carpet and the smell was still there. They agreed to change the carpet pad only because they only invest a small amount for cleaning. The smell remained and we were stuck in our lease. We then had our keyless lock fail and they charged us $100 to repair because we didn’t report the cheap lock at the time of move in. They waited 3 weeks to repair the front door lock and did not disclose the cost of repair. I would not recommend them.

I give the agency a three , due to the fact that Im still not in my home and no one seems to be in the office or around to answer my questions as to whats the next step ? I really appreciate the opportunity on giving me a wonderful home, but there needs to be more help and better communication skills. The company is not as reliable as they should. The homes I looked at were beautifully renovated and in great condition. I called MS Renewal East several times and everyone I spoke to was very knowledgable and helpful. They were honest, telling me how many applications were submitted for the properties I was interested in.In particular, Bill, went above and beyond. He took the time to explain my steps, and the different scenarios I could be in if I pulled my application from one property to submit for another. He was patient and thoroughly explained everything! I am now in the process of signing a lease. Super excited!

Well, let me tell you. On 6/25/20 Kevin was the one that answered my call. We were on the phone for an hour and 17 minutes. He was very professional, very patient and very knowledgeable. Our rental house has one AC unit for 4400 SF and the upstairs is close to 90 in the afternoon and evening. I submitted a maintenance request Wednesday, July15. I did not hear back but was told to contact the vendor. Vendor too busy to respond, order reassigned late Friday. I was told new vendor worked on weekend , which is true but MSRenewal told me Saturday that maintenance does not work on the weekend. Then they said they would bring portable AC units. It hits 96-97 lately. Turns out that was a lie too. As of Noon on July 20, all they can do is send an email to somebody and we should get a response in 4-6 hours.It’s a great house that meets a short term need but I would never recommend to anyone.

My experience with main street renewal has been everything of a horrible nightmare. I have called the office so many times over so many different things the most horrible call was when I had to put in a maintenance request over a fire hazard in the rental home and it was over a month later that assistance was received after the fact I had to call and inquire why no one had came out yet I had lost several appliances in the home due to them being burned out lights going up and down in the brightness I even had to drop the vacuum cleaner cord because it was so hard I couldn’t even touch it but yet could not get a phone call back from any representative there. The property manager Moana has never Bothered to even check on this property inspect make a phone call or anything in two years that we have been here. I am currently trying to get out of the lease because I feel that is no longer safe to even live in this home. They sent some electrician that they hired to come and look at the electricity box and even though he said he fixed it he did not because the issues are still occurring but after another phone call back to let them know that it has not been fixed still nothing has been resolved I just want out of this home quickly.Thankfully I am working from home so that I can make sure that the house does not burn down or we do not lose everything while being gone. You would think after his many phone calls and complains that I have made that something would have been done but instead I’m having the biggest problem trying to get out of this home. I do not recommend anyone ever leasing from this company.

Since the day I moved in there have been things that have needed to be repaired that was three months AG and still no repairs have been made. Now the AC is not working for two weeks and they have not gotten that taken care of to yet. Their so called maintenance man supposably came out but did not pull into the yard nor did he call and let anyone know he was at the house. My daughter was sitting in the living room all day due to having surgery so he never pulled in the yard. We have made numerous calls to get this taken care of but all they tell us is they will put in a work order that never gets done. So what do you do! You try to to do the right things and yet they treat you like a no body. Not a worthy company.

Main Street Renewal is by far one of the worst companies Ive ever had to deal with. My neighbors are renting and use Main Street Renewal, knowing that the fence needs to be replaced they informed me to call the management company to split the cost of their side of the fence. The neighbors did warn me Main Street is almost impossible to do business with however I still reached out. After 4 weeks of emails and phone calls I was able to get in contact with Kevin Carmack only to find out they wont split the cost and want me to replace it out of my pocket. So they are wanting a new fence but only have me pay for it. Listen to me and all the other reviews about this company. STAY AWAY from Main Street Renewal.

Worst Customer Service I have ever dealt with. If I could give zero stars I would. Full story can be seen in the attached photos.In a nut shell one of the fire and carbon monoxide detectors in the house Im renting was faulty and kept going off every 5 mins. I knew it was faulty because there was no fire and the house is 100% electric and we had no cars parked in the garage at the time. Despite this I was directed by Main Street Renewal to call the Fire Department. The Fire Department came out to investigate and helped me conclude that it was a faulty detector. We disconnected the faulty detector but I was told that if one sensor was faulty the others would not be far behind. The Fire Department suggested I have them replaced.I sent in an urgent maintenance request and called customer service for help. Long story short I was told they could not do anything besides send someone out to replace it but they didnt know when that would be but that they would let me know by end of day. I asked where should my family and I go to sleep if they keep going off. The response I received was thats not our issue, thats on you. I asked for the manager and was told no.I called back again explaining everything. This time I was told by Gabrielle in the Austin, TX office that I should just disconnect all the detectors if they keep going off until maintenance comes to replace them. I said that I could do that however, that removes the safety factor for my family if there was a fire during the time between now and when maintenance shows up. I also informed her that if I were to do what she is directing me to do that opens Main Street Renewal up for a pretty big liability if something were to happen to my family and myself. She quickly tried to back pedal and say that she didnt say that. I reiterated her sentence verbatim and that if she would go back and listen to the recording she would hear herself specifically tell me to disconnect all of my fire detectors.This is the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. They are rude and incapable, they wouldnt even let me speak to their manager. What kind of operation is being ran over there? Who tells their customers that its not there issue when in fact it is? Its their rental property and their equipment that is faulty and going off every 5 minutes. My advice, go somewhere else. They are overpriced for the service they dont provide. I can not wait to be out of this lease.

I am emailing you to let you know about my experience with Ms Gray. My name is Aaron and in August of 2020 our landlord informed us that he was selling our house to Baf3 investments. A little research told us that Mainstreet Renewal would be managing our property from that point on. I called Mainstreet for the first time from the hospital while we waited for my wifes premature labor to subside. She was 32 weeks and went into labor and after many hours in the hospital we had time to kill before her release and figured why not call and see what was going to happen with our house. We have a baby due in October, and at that point the uncertainty was killing us. I told Ms Gray about our situation and wanted to know what our options would be. She informed us that at the time she did not have a directive for any of the properties but let us know what the process was going to be, and more importantly the time frame we had to work with. From the start she was very sympathetic to our situation and acted in the most professional manner I have encountered in recent years. As the process moved along she kept us well informed and continued to seek information on our behalf. As it turned out the owners of our property would not be leasing the house any longer until they could do renovations. Ms Gray was upfront and honest about the whole situation and gave us our options moving forward with or without our continued relationship with Mainstreet Renewal. She went above and beyond what I expected of any representative in her situation. Mainstreet Renewal, in my opinion, should know they have a professional on their team, and she would be an asset in any situation where customer service is involved. I appreciate her efforts and am sorry to not have someone like her to deal with, any time I need to interact with a representative of a company, with her professionalism. She made a bad situation for us the best it could be, please tell her thank you from us.Thank youP.s. I wish this investment company would consider their position in the continued involvement of rental real-estate and the impact it is having on people. They have the opportunity to make a significant positive impact on peoples lives, but it seems instead they are driving the housing price and rental market to unobtainable amounts. This will inevitably cause the bubble to pop and their goal to obtain continued rise in short term gains will end up costing them long term revenue. Middle class families that cannot afford to buy a $300,000 house certainly cannot afford a rent payment equal to that of a comparable mortgage payment. Perhaps they should put people like Ms Gray into positions of management and let them exceed where others with less than ethical business experience are failing. Overall I see negative reviews and wanted to share my positive experience with the person I interacted with. I hope they come around and realize they have amazing people that could make a real difference.
