Dont be put off by the appearance of this place. The workmanship is great and the lady at the front desk is delightful.

I really like this place. The hours are a bit odd so make sure you know their schedule. Other than that, my clothes always have come out great.

Ive taken my clothes here from the days when they were on Lamar as well. Ive always gotten good service with the exception of a phone call I recieved from a lady who Identified herself only by saying she was family and That I needed to pick up my clothing before she sold them, and a pair of dress shorts that was stained while in their care. Knowing that things sometimes happen [stained shorts] I continue to use Guthries as my primary Cleaners and Im still very satisfied with there service.

Ive used Guthrie Cleaners only once to have my clothing dry-cleaned and it was a somewhat stressful experience. I had several shirts and pants that needed to be cleaned and I was given a two day ETA (dropped off Monday morning, ready by Wednesday afternoon). Of course I was traveling on Thursday morning, so any delay would be difficult to work around. When I came to pick up my clothing on Wednesday, one of my shirts was missing. Worst of all, they had no record of the shirt ever being in my order. Fortunately I knew the brand/size and when they called the actual cleaning location up in Hutto they found it immediately. Of course since it was up in Hutto they refused to bring it back that day and I would be leaving Austin prior to the morning delivery. I just had to make do without that shirt and picked it up after my trip.Aside from that incident, the rest of the experience was fine. Service was prompt, extremely cheap, and the clothing was well cleaned and pressed. Ill give them another chance but will probably go a little earlier than needed this time.

The best dry cleaner Ive found in Austin, especially when you consider their great prices. Ive tried several in Westlake, Clarksville and Tarrytown, and this family place on the east side beats them all. Ive never had a shirt button broken there, whereas every other cleaner Ive gone to has sent shirts back with crushed buttons. I think they actually replaced one of my missing sleeve buttons once, even though I brought it in that way.
