Im sad every time I step in here now... What used to be my absolute FAVORITE place to shop is a shell of what it used to be. I could lose hours just wandering around here. They also had the absolute best deals around... For the last few years the decline has been noticeable but now I see that 1/3 of the store is closed off. I heard an employee telling another customer that theyre remodeling... For years now??? The message used to be theyre waiting for new inventory. This one really makes me sad to see. I hope it comes back revamped but I have a bad feeling about this

Back in the day this was a one stop shop for anything in your house that drew power. Those days seem long gone. Shelves are bare, there are like 3 people up front. I remember when they came to town and Id look at the Friday frys ad in the paper for what was going to steal my paycheck. No more. Now you would be challenged to build a computer with whats left. Ive seen places going out of business with more inventory. Sad...

Great prices, but their bargains are offset by not having the same selections as they used to

Empty Selves... Frys is almost non existence. Apparently the tariff battle with China and a new business model gives the appearance of going out of business. 😕 This use to be one of my favorite stores.

I just visited there for cameras. There are a lot of varieties available in every type of electronic products with cheap and best price. The best thing is you can take the product and after if u are not satisfied u can return with in 30 days with full.price refund . The only thing is product should not damaged.

Found everything I needed. The was a young man by the name of Kyle, he was very nice and helpful. He went above and beyond to assist me. Also one lady there was also very helpful. I always have a good experience when I go there.

I only gave three stars because this used to be my got to store for finding anything computer, 3d printer, or some new robotics build Im tinkering with. But now its a barebones place with nothing on the shelves. I used to wonder up and down the isles looking at thing allowing my imagination to sore. I know it amazon thats destroyed the way I knew how to shop. Leaving with a tangible item. And seeing what fit in my Frankenstein build. No computers laptops except two. Sad

Normally I love going into Fry’s but this is basically their entire store. Nothing is available and it’s just a ghost town.

Absolutely barren shelves. The store is a ghost town with half of the retail space barricaded off - the remaining shelves are half empty at best. Almost no name-brand computer hardware now. Looks like they are just selling through existing inventory and have no plans on restocking with current products.

In a word? Empty. Its just sad now.

Its a little bit sad right now. Their stock is pretty low due to the pandemic Im sure. But even at that, it is still one of my favorite stores. I still try to stop in once or twice a month just to do my little part to try to keep them open.

Cell phone selection was weak. Looked like maybe they are phasing it out. Strong selection of TVs, speakers, videogames (and accessories).

Store is downsizing and half of it is closed off, really disappointing to see this happening. Loved going in and seeing all of the products in person. Not much to see anymore. Hate to see it go, but Im sure it the next phase for them.

How far the mighty have fallen. The place looks closed. Theres actually ZERO stock in many areas of the store. So sad. :(

We went to this location on November 18,2020 hoping to find a computer and see some amazing speakers. Sad to see more than half the store is either closed off or empty. There were no display computers, TVs and most of the shelves were empty. The only things they have left are remnants of parts for computers, as seen on Tv items and a few sale items. Very sad store.

This store is at its worst shape Ive ever seen it in. Only enough stock for less than half the building. This was my computer store from day gone by. I live an hour away and would exclusively buy all my build components, upgrades and repair parts at Frys. Its say to see it in this shape, and it was going down long before Covid19. Hopefully they can get it back up to par. Or move to a smaller building if they no longer want to carry appliances.

I really hate to even post this because I used to love this place so much but I went in there over the weekend to look for computer parts and the whole store is barren. 1/2 of it isnt even lit. The staff was friendly in helping me not waste my time looking for something they dont have. Maybe just a relic of a bygone era. :(

I come here primarily for the eclectic supply of DVDs and Blu Rays. They stock a good amount of off kilter stuff that is usually only available online. The prices range from MSRP to holy crap that is a great deal so its worth stopping by to browse and find the good deals. They also have all kinds of other electronics and computer components which are good to have available when you dont want to have to wait for Newegg to send you something.

So we probably all know Frys had been deleted of inventory while seeking new vendors. Inventory non existent but they are taking the time to reinvent and upgrade stores so the new result, with inventory should be awesome. Long time fan and loyal customer.

Great place for electronics gadgets...

Drove 2.5 hrs to give Frys my business instead of Amazon, next time will go with Amazon. Front end supervisor woman is rude and needs an attitude adjustment or change of position. Asked to exchange something I bought 5 mins prior (she did the transaction) to pay the difference and instead refunded my card so now I have 2 transactions plus refund to deal with.After I told her my issue she asked me are you done? rudely. I told her I would be leaving a Google review about this and she told me good and stormed off.Aisle guy was very nice and helpful, same with Jonathan at service that had much better personalities and attitudes.

Great selection. One stop shop. Helpful staff. 10/10 stars. They even have a huge candy selection in the wait line to choose from as last minute items.

I hadn’t been into this store in probably 7 years.I walked in today and it was like I walked into a completely different place.Frys always struggled to keep the shelves fully stocked and their merchandising wasn’t the best.But what I walked into today was PATHETIC. They might have had 3 TV’s on Display and maybe 7 to choose from and some brands that were fresh off the flea market. No Tablets, PCs, Laptops, Monitors on Display like the old days.This place is a joke. There used to be probably 60 employees in the building at one given time.There were probably 30 people including customers in here today

60% or more of the shelves are empty with no merchandise. Is this store closing? Couldnt find anything I was looking for, wasted trip.

Its a good place to find what you need in terms of electronics. Their selection isnt as good as before, but its still a nice store.

They still have a lot of electronic novelty items, gaming furniture, and some computer parts, but much of the inventory is really pouches over. I used to love Frys....it makes me sad now...

An absolute ghost town. The fry family only has the stores open to funnel money from Frys electronics into their real estate business before Frys is forced to go under. Dont bother wasting your time here if youre expecting anything more than generic sata cables and duster cans.

This is usually my go to place to get what I need today. But there was no stock at all. I was able to find what I needed but serious all the isles are empty. Im not sure if they are going out of business or not.

Hardly anything on the shelves. The two sales associates were more interested in their conversation than me. When I walked by they scattered. I seriously thought the store was having a going out of business sale and just forgot to mark everything down.

Tons of selection and amazing deals on electronics. The staff is the most knowledgeable in town.... Totally tech geeks but that happens to come in handy when you have such a large amount of electronics to choose from :-).The kids even love going and the staff is also very helpful at accommodating their questions the latest trends and innovations. Five stars for Frys electronics.

They had the product I was looking for cat6 cable and coaxial cable. I was hoping to get a few pointers from staff on how to install but not a lot to be shared with me. Although a customer shopping was able to give some good insight on how to install.

This was by far the best electronics store in Austin but now they have no inventory. They have said they are just changing vendors but their shelves have been empty for the better part of a year now. I kinda think they are just going out of business and liquidating assets. I have never herd of a major store taking this long to swap vendors.Their computer diagnostics side is still good if you have a pc issue though.

Plenty Quantity, but no quality. I just wanted to buy one part, which was right on the shelf. went to the checkout which was a 5 minute walk to the other side of the store and then spent 20 minutes just trying to purchase the item. Staff seem unmotivated and I feel as if they’re just waiting for the store to shut down.

I was there last week to fix my computer; the computer was running slow, so the hard drive needed to be replaced . The tech( Jonathan) who worked on it was nice but he didnt save the data before he pulled out the old drive , so I lost all my data . I contacted a business which restores data and they gave me an estimate of $400-$1900 to restore my data , I complained to the store manager (Jen) who didnt know anything about fixing computers! She was very obnoxious and rude and said there is nothing I can do for you

Walking through here was depressing. Went in looking for a couple computer components, literally had nothing. Empty aisle after empty aisle. Didnt even have thermal paste. The things they did have were in random places around the store mislabeled. They blame the trade war but the fact is they dont want to find new suppliers since newegg and best buy and amazon have got along just fine. Dont waste your time driving up here, you wont find what youre looking for.

The best electronics / computer / gadget store around since the fall of radio shack. Very happy to see they have resolved all their supply chain issues.

We went to Frys to get some electrical components to put together a air horn connected separately with a switch with a in-line fuse. Frys had nothing we needed. Their electronic component section was bare as well as their automotive section. It was a huge waste of time. Employee was wearing a vented mask so I didnt even feel safe. They blamed their lack of stock on the pandemic. Stating everyone was like that. 🤣 Funny, because I went to Autozone and found everything they didnt have. 🤔

Michael and Jonathan from the tech services department were an amazing help. They kept me up to date on the diagnosis process and let me know what the next steps were as well as recommendations on what to do. I greatly appreciate their time and effort in helping me with my computer tower and working on the audio issues I was having.

Less of a store, and more of a big warehouse of empty shelves and sad little lumps of employees. Truly pathetic shell of a store nowadays.

Some of the products they have are literally stapled together and they still sell at the same price.

Frys parts and components section has been a horror show for years. I used to go there for the selection, but even when a part is listed as in-stock, the shelves are always a mess. Then it became a ghost town: For over a year, the national chain has had no money or credit to re-stock their shelves. What keeps this walking-dead going? Amazingly, they had a decent selection of overpriced 1970s wire wrap components. I may be the only buzzard picking at those. Altex had what I needed anyway. Also, Hobby Town next door has a whole wall of Radio Shack parts.

Depressing. The store looks like a ghost town. Just emptiness. And the worst part is the employees were just as depressing. I asked about sd cards and I was pointed to some obscure corner. Heres a hint: if a customer asks where something is, WALK THEM TO THE ITEM. Customer service is not a title. We wont be back. We can get the same deals online, so why waste my time?

The best place to walk in to get computer network parts and computer parts and get expert advice. Reminds me of a large Radio Shack.

After entering this place, me and my wife was never was acknowledged. We greeted the staff at the front register and was just stared at. We went to the computer section and a guy there didnt look at us to help. A black worker greeted us and told us that we would get help but the other workers were standing around and helping non-black customers. The Frys in Houston isnt like this. Never coming here again, never. I just wanted a tablet for my kid.

Customer Service Rep said We get our stuff from China and weve been competing with other stores... Sure, its definitely not because youre failing as a company and have no credit to buy stuff... shelves are completely empty, except for super, SUPER poor quality Chinese stuff. What a disgrace and disaster. Just shut down, save face.

Fantastic customer service. These days it seems that theres not much stock on the shelves, which is sad, but I was still able to find a perfect fit case for my tablet from what they have. I hope they make it through this pandemic rough patch. Theyre my favorite electronics store.

This store has a weird vibe. I’m not sure if it pandemic related, but it looks like it has been raided after a zombie apocalypse. Still I found what I needed and the staff handle their business. I’ve a lot of good things about this place. I hope it’s current state is just a short term situation.

It felt like a ghost town in there.. Im not sure what the deal is with their stock but it seems so weird that a half empty Frys is the only big computer electronics shop in Austin. Ive had to drive to Microcenter for parts two and a half hours away because Frys doesnt have what Id been looking for.

Where else would you find a cool Raspberry Pi starter kit right off the shelf? Frys thats where! Only 3 stars as after sending confirmation email that all items were waiting for me, they werent. It was only a cable but they could have just told me they didnt have it in the email, I still would have wentfor the Pi.

They were renovating while I visited and it also being during the covid 19 outbreak caused the store to be a little off kilter. Many of the shelves were mid reorganization and you could tell the store wasnt running at what you could call full steam. This being said however, its a very unique experience for someone who has bought mostly online and stopped into a best by as a last resort when needing the products they stock. If you want options on options, and options you didnt know were even options, for something you just put in your cart that you didnt know you needed untill you saw it but, after you saw it you had to have it, and spent about ten minutes comparing it to the similar offerings from competitors and decided on the one you have, this is the place for you. In short. If you want to wander a vast and labyrinthine world of electrical dodads, gadgets and thingamajigers, make sure you have a few hours to kill before you walk in and its siren song intoxicates your wallet and mind, leaving you to drown amidst the potential in the electric sea of what could be.

Had what i needed. Low on stock and looked empty but like i said they had what i needed.. Look online to see if they have em in stock. Kinda makes it easier.

At the moment Frys is going through a transition to new vendors. This means they are letting all of their existing stock be bought from the shelves. This translates to empty shelves, lots of them. The store is still clean and well-lit, but finding a person to help you its not possible. Hopefully when they do find the new vendors, Frys will come back to what it used to be, or hopefully similar.

I used to love this place. The shelves are empty and the staff is scarce. No one to answer questions and hard to find what youre looking for. Looks as if they are going under despite them claiming otherwise.

It looks like theyre about ready to close the doors theres hardly anything for sale on the shelves anymore almost nobody to ask any questions not even somebody to check your receipts at the door they say its not required or important so that means to me that though be closed in about a month so sad to see whats happened to frys electronics

Dont waste your time no one knows where anything is and it took 30 minutes to find thermal paste. Just tried to call to ask a question before trying to come in tomorrow, phone was immeediately put on hold for five minutes before I gave up. Go to Altex.

This Store is an Austin Icon Been around .. although Frys is still open their Stock is Depleted and you cant shop as it was Before this Pandemic.. but enjoy the savings and go get your little Eltronixs GEEK ON... WamO Says.......

Bought my diy home camera kit from here. The system wouldn’t be what it is without the help of their informative staff. Great staff can’t express it enough.

Wondering why they are not closed. Products all mixed and no one to help you. Store is barely stocked with products. Not the FRYS it was a few years ago.

Frys is one of the last places that normally stocked a great supply of electronics parts.The were a lot of empty spaces this visit. One of staff said they are not closing but basically trying to find more cost-effective supply chains.I really hope they succeed. Its a great store.

Huge array and diversity of electronics

The place is empty. All I wanted was a cheap soldering iron. None to be had, no solder either. Most of shelves were empty and it was dark. I did not see a single employee.I’ve seen comments about supply chain problems but for a store like Fry’s that’s usually due to payment issues.If I was their landlord, I’d be looking for another tenant. They are actively dying.

Really great place to build a PC. Kinda sad it looks like a deserted warehouse now due to COVID...more people need to buy stuff here...

A pitiful selection in a dying store and chain. Walls filled with the same 3 computer cases and rows of dvds from 5+ years ago. Save yourself the trip and visit literally anywhere else.

Ghost town up in here! This place was always bumping but now its just sad. No in-store music and dim lighting. VERY LITTLE inventory on the shelves. Was hoping to pop in and buy a new printer but found zero stock of any printers as well as zero laptops and zero TV stock, as well as computer components all gone. Just sad since I used Frys to build my first gaming PC. Kinda wondering why they are even open at this point.

I normally find it amazing. But this visit felt like I had entered a ghost town. The shelves were low on merchandise, the lights half turned off and of course staff was down to a bare minimum. Im sure all thanks to the misleading information that caused undue public fear regarding coronovirus and killed the U.S. economy unnecessarily.

The shelves are empty. Im saying like 20 percent stocked. Its a huge place. I feel bad for the employees that get commission. Its the holidays you should be packed. And stocked up. Im shocked. I hope they get there stuff together.

Horrible customer service experience. Trying to sell me a 2017 Apple computer (out of box) with only $100 discount and manager in charge said they do not have a price guarantee.

Disappointing at best. Empty shelves empty floor space. Not what they were when they started but it appears they do have good prices on what they have. Need to check quantities on hand before making the trip.

Sadly this store is not what it used to be. There are entire sections of this store completley empty. I could not get a straight awnser from any associate as to what was going on.

Place was empty of stock and employees, what few there were, looked like they were on the way to the gallows or a beheading. Trying to change to compete with the likes of Amazon. That horse is way out of the barn, just ask Block Buster, Radio Shack, Toy R Us and now Sears...
