The owner (Scott) was responsive to every call, personable, fixed my computers promptly, and his prices were more than reasonable. I was planning on scrapping a computer but he recommended replacing the broken hard drive with a new one. He even upgraded it to a SSD and now it runs faster than ever before. One of my computers fixed itself, and rather than do unnecessary work just to rack up billing he let me know. His honesty and warm personality are what will bring me back for all my future computer issues, the fair prices and excellent work were a cherry on top.

I rarely write negative views but was disappointed for the second time with this company. I believe the owner means well but was overwhelmed at the time. Theres a dog roaming around in the electronics area, Im pretty sure dog hair & electronics dont mix. The customers items being worked on was just scattered and unorganized in the working area behind the counter. My keyboard and mouse was lost and the owner couldnt find it so he offered me a lower quality one. While waiting a customer came in arguing that they left his computer in a worse condition and did work on it he didnt ask for. I watched as the owner took it personally and instead of addressing the problem made it worse. He attacked the guy instead of addressing the issue. My computer was fixed, staff is nice definitely call to follow up. And label all the items you give them.

Scott is very knowledgeable, polite, and helpful. This business has my vote as a go to business for desktop and laptop computer as well as tablet repair. Do call before you go during Covid-19 crisis. He and his team are skilled and prices are fair. They also sell computer systems.

This is probably the best computer repair business in Austin, if not in the whole state; if not in the entire country. The owner (cant think of his name at the moment) is super polite and if hes the one that fixed my very messed up 15 year old laptop, hes a genius.

I called this establishment to check on their availability. The man on the phone said there was a couple devices a head of mine but I could bring it in and they would take a look. I have been in IT for quite some time and bricked the device cuz I was tires the night before. I began to explain to the employee what I had already done so as to inform the man so he doesnt waste his time repeating steps. The employee ignored all that I said then dismissed me rudely. After leaving 8 felt weird doing business with these people so called to let the technician know that if the issue couldnt be isolated within an HR to just contact me and let me know. This establishment kept my device for 3 days without even looking at it. I called in the 2nd and the guy was rude again. So I just came and picked my device up on the third day and was extremely dissatisfied.

Straight forward and simple. Professional and fast. Ill definitely be returning if I have any problems with my comp in the future.

Was very helpful taking the time to run some diagnostics to be sure all was well with my computer. And an unexpected bonus, he got my laptop hinge back in shape and now my laptop closes all the way and easily! Hooray!

Took my rig to them a while ago due to a power issue. They had no idea what common acronyms meant, and after about a week or two, they misdiagnosed my issue, and they still charged me. To top it off, Im pretty sure they lost/kept a stand that helped keep my graphics card from bending

Im willing to bet most of these 5 star reviews are from friends or family doing them a favor. These guys are so rude and unprofessional. They take days to even give you a diagnostic on the issue. Then when you ask them what the prices will be on the different solutions, they tell you to stop being cheap. They throw out some random number and try to convince you they are doing you a favor. Do not be fooled! I called 2 others immediately after and they both quoted much cheaper for the exact same work. Now watch the owner reply back and complain about how terrible his experience with the customer was, how all of this is a lie, and how great he is and how he can do no wrong. I would expect nothing less... Lol.

Just regular guy nerds working on everybodys computers and lap tops. Friendly, good price for the work and timely.

Computer Medic has provided me great service, twice. The first time, I had a laptop malfunctioning, and they diagnosed it and let me know what was needed: a new keyboard. After its installation, the laptop worked like new. The second time, they diagnosed my malfunctioning laptop (dead motherboard) and let me know what options I had to re-use the hard drive. Very friendly service; I will go here again if I need computer service!

This is a great place to get your computer repaired. They have years of experience and their work is excellent. The pricing is reasonable. He will tell you not only what you need but also what you dont need. This honesty is refreshing. I also like supporting a person rather than a big company. Ive been using computer medic for years. Plus they have computers for sale too.

I rarely write reviews but I felt Id be doing the community a disservice if I didnt warn against these guys. They are extremely unprofessional in the poor quality fo their repairs. I had spilled water on my 17in 2013 Macbook Pro and took advantage to also get a new battery installed. They kept my computer for over 2 weeks because they order parts from China and their repairs arent even done in house I think someone in San Marcos does it for them and it cost me $400+ and they were preparing me to spend about $700. After it was repaired I took it home and found that about 10% of the left side of my keyboard was unresponsive and not working and the new batter was not installed. When I called to not even complain but point this out and hopefully go through the inconvenience of not having my laptop for another who knows how long, they stopped answering my calls and I had to call form a different number and they were so annoyed that I could just get used to using the right shift and command keys which might be tedious at first but at least its working... They said theyd call me if the parts come in and you guessed it...never heard back since. Then COVID struck and I absolutely couldnt be without a laptop during these times so I bt the bullet and stopped bothering them to avoid having my laptop gone for another few weeks during the critical WFH times. So if I can spare anyone else the trouble my advice is just go somewhere else.

My computer is my life. It is how I make a living. I was very unsure about trusting anyone with it. But I had an excellent experience. My screen was repaired quickly and the repair was priced fairly. Great local business and would recommend to anyone and everyone.

This place is a little Austin gem! Scott is very friendly and personable. Figured out my laptop issue in minutes and will be ordering parts and getting my laptop up and running within the week. Very happy with his customer service! Highly recommend this PC repair store to anyone local.

Scott Snell is a class act. Ive used his services on a number of occasions for Mac Hard drive recovery and specialized parts. It seems hes a craftsman of many skills, because hes got computers for sale as well. If your willing to make the trip to South Austin to see him theres good deals to be had on Desktops, laptops, Macs, Windows, etc. The important thing to emphasize is his integrity. Hes very fair and even handed right down to the price, which he always estimates beforehand. Combine that with a high level of expertise gained from years in the computer repair industry and you have a winning formula. I wouldnt use any other outside storefront computer service because Computer Medic has my complete trust.

Called up with a tall order, looking for a weird part on short notice. They didnt have the part but looked it up and were really informative and helpful. Next time I need some help, Ill be sure to call them.

These people are great. I had a very complicated issue when the hard drive on my laptop bit the dust... it took a long time to fix, but that was due to the nature of the problem itself, not their service. They were very friendly, personable, and patient the entire time. Their rates were incredibly reasonable--considering how much time they spend working on my problem, they could easily have charged me 3 to 5 times what they actually did. If I have any other problems, I will definitely come back.

The only reason I established a Google+ account was so I could write a review for Computer Medic. I could not have been more pleased with my experience. Scott helped me wipe clean a computer I was going to give up and I found an excellent refurbished tower at a great price. You could not find a nicer, or more reasonable business owner. I wish he was a car mechanic! I feel very lucky to have such a resource in my neighborhood.

Went there after seeing these good revues, big mistake. Said he couldnt get to my computer for another week to see what the problem was, much less repair it. Told him I would have to go elsewhere then, and he became upset and acted very unprofessional, saying as I walked out the door Good luck...youre going to need it.Not to mention the cluttered and junky hole-in-the-wall that this place is. Too many good repair shops in Austin to settle for this place.

The staff has always been extremely friendly. Dont come here expecting the fast food service, they take great care with their individual customers and they offer very reasonable prices. If you are impatient, dont come here.

Computer Medic is just down the street from me and Scott is a great guy, he has given me several good deals but this last laptop I bought from him is the best one yet - at a fraction of the price he sold me a laptop that I love to death a Lenova with a Pentium dual-core and 4 gigs of RAM everything I needed for work! Thanks Scott!! I highly recommend Computer Medic to my friends and neighbors, they are very knowledgeable about computer technology and will have you up and running in no time; when I need another computer Im definitely returning to Computer Medic... this makes my third laptop from them over the years and theyve all been great and inexpensive. Better and less expensive than any of the other discount electronic places.

My power jack stopped working, my computer was now useless. I brought it to computer medic, I thought for sure it was going to cost me a arm and leg to get it fix. But to my surprise they didnt charge me as much as I thought they were going to. However they do need to work on their communication skills. Would have liked it if they called me to me know the status of my computer.

My laptop completely died in middle of working on my dissertation. Needless to say I was in a panic. Found out about Computer Medic and brought it in. I left it in their hands for a few days to find out that the mother board is completely dead. They were able to salvage everything though, all of my files, in which I was so relieved. I took my hard drive and left the remains of my old laptop to them for parts. They didnt charge me anything or any of it! So very friendly, and I loved playing with their dogs while waiting in the office. This will be my go-to place for any computer issues for sure.
