Emily went above and beyond to make my brothers services as easy as possible during the most difficult time of my life. She was always compassionate and professional. Our family felt genuinely cared for during the planning and the service was a beautiful memorial.

I am always impressed by an organization that is dedicated to compassion, empathy, professionalism, and excellence in all that they do. This would best describe Horan & McConaty. We recently lost our Son, Austin. The tenderness, concern and care expressed by this gifted organization/company was thorough in their care for us as a client. In our greatest time of sorrow, they were there to help us with every detail. Never did we feel pressured to go outside of our budget, nor anyone trying to take advantage of our grieving process. They understood how we felt, and the extra care and concern helped us feel as if they were an extension of our family.I give my highest recommendation to anyone who might experience a loss of a loved one to seriously consider using Horan & McConaty. They truly care about your departed loved one, and you as the family. A special thank you to Alice Wheeler, John Horan, and all the Staff at Horan & McConaty for the love and concern that you demonstrated during our time of loss.Mr. & Mrs. L. Ferrin and Family

The work these folks do is truly incredible. It is rare to see a company the consistently exceeds the expectation of their clients, as evident by their willingness to accommodate the requests our family had during our funeral planning. Absolutely incredible, would highly recommend their services to everyone I know. Through our most difficult time I can say with confidence that without their expertise I dont know how we would have gotten through such trauma. Thanks H&M!

My father passed away suddenly while I was out of town. I drove straight to Horan & McConaty from the airport the next morning. I visited with Tiffany at the Aurora location. She was so thoughtful, caring, and helpful. Planning the service was made easier with her assistance. She was patient with me, my mother and my son and allowed us all the time we needed to make decisions. She explained all of the options and followed up with me to ensure that we didn’t miss important deadlines which can happen when you’re grieving. I couldn’t have done it without her. She was an angel - pun intended. Thanks Horan & McConaty. I appreciate your assistance, caring and professionalism.

I write to extend the most important “Thank You” of my life. You, and each person involved in preparing Krys and providing support for his service, have done more for our family than we ever could have expected. Each conversation, question, call, and e-mail was met with remarkable care and professionalism. The team’s empathy and ability to know what to say and how to say it is not a learned skill—it is a unique, innate quality.Krys was well taken care of in life. I loved being his mother. I needed a lot during the first week after Krys’ death. I needed him to be seamlessly cared for in death, as he was in life. My attentiveness and instinct to nurture him did not change from life to death. I needed you to be an extension of me. And you all were. My hands were on your hands as you cared for him. Your thoughts were my thoughts.Thank you to those who transported Krys from McKee Medical Center to Horan & McConaty in Aurora. Amy, thank you for your call letting me know when Krys arrived. Amy and JaCobe, thank you for spending so much time with us as we made detailed decisions about Krys’ service, reception, and remains. Tori, Vanessa, and Samantha, thank you all for the warm welcome each time we arrived to see Krys. Vanessa, thank you for your patience as I cried in the doorway the first time I viewed Krys’ body. Marisa and Laleh, thank you for preparing Krys’. We needed to say goodbye, and you allowed us that incredible honor. Thank you for coming up to meet me so I could personally thank (and hug) both of you. Kristen, Dan, Catie, Megan, Tavin, Spencer, Jonathan, Benjeman, Alex, Jake, Evie, Chad, Sal, Sylvia, Monica, and Connor, thank you for all of your help caring for Krys. For dressing him, for moving him, for his peaceful appearance, for making sure he was ready for four viewings, for the beautiful service, for making arrangements to live stream Krys’ service for his Icelandic family, for preparing him (and us) for his cremation, and for allowing us to view and begin his cremation process. As you may or may not know, your care and expertise in preparing Krys’ body, allowed his 9-year-old son to say goodbye. Every second you spent with Krys gave that little boy opportunities for closure. He had several opportunities to view and touch his father, all of which better prepared him for their final goodbye. Those important experiences and memories will comfort him throughout his lifetime.Your work allowed our family to feel brave. We could not have done that without you.Language and words seem far too limiting to express the gratitude we feel. Know our “Thank You” “higher than the sky, deeper than the sea, and bigger than the whole wide world”. Our “Thank You” is eternal.I have one request of each of you. Please go home tonight and read this letter out loud to your family. Really. Out loud. Thank you.

I offer this company a 0. They treated me terribly when my father passed away. They are extremely overpriced rude and frankly I believe their religious discriminative practices are illegal. They offer a discount if they investigate you and determine your Jewish enough. Then you work with their company called Shalom. If they dont determine your Jewish to their stamdards they shovel you back to this main company and charge more. Wow theres no way on earth Id ever deal with a company like this. This company is about money and thats it. I saved over $1,000 going with Apollo mortuary & Cremation Services. Apollo treated me with care and respect on top of saving me tons of money they offered everything and more that this company offers. Run!

This past weekend, our family interned my husbands mothers and fathers ashes at the Rocky Mountain Cremation Gardens in Aurora, Colorado. Paul from Horan and McConaty helped us with all of the arrangements. Not only was Paul professional, but he was personable and sincerely cared about our wishes, carefully guiding us through the decisions that we needed to make. We also held a reception at the HeartLight reception center afterwards. Lori made sure that everything at the reception went smoothly and just as planned. Thank you to the entire family at Horan and McConaty for their guidance, suggestions, and empathy. I can heartily and without any reservations recommend this organization for your end of life needs.

My Mothers funeral service in May 2014 ended up being a horrible experience overall. We were asked to provide a DVD with music and pictures prior to the service which we did promptly and delivered to the managers office, cant remember her name, but blonde hair. We asked if she wanted to test the DVD and the answer was no. Upon arrival for my Mothers service they couldnt get the DVD to work, so I was asked to drive home and put the data on a thumb drive. So I had to drive from Aurora to almost Franktown and back in less than one hour. I literally got back to the service as I was being asked to walk in and and start the service. I was unable to speak with the 200+ guests because of this simple screw up. So the team that was there on the day of the service tried to recover and stated that they would send us 2 DVDs of the service as a token of their concern with how unorganized the event ended up being. Secondly our funeral director was changed less than one week from the service, so more confusion. So after the service was done we received 1 DVD in the mail. I immediately called and was told, were sorry, must have been a mix up and that theyd send out another. So weeks go by with no DVD, so I call again and was told that we didnt buy a package with 2 DVDs that is why the 2nd copy wasnt mailed to us, of course no courtesy phone call to tell us this. So I explained the situation and was told they would have the office manager call me to discuss. This was at least the third time I had requested that the office manager, the same one that didnt test the DVD call, and of course no return call. I was very clear on every call how frustrated I was, and of course with no care after my money had been paid, ~$10K, I still couldnt get one more copy of the DVD I was promised. This is not a money issue for my family, its principal. Horan & McConaty is great before you write the check but their follow up and care afterward is horrible. I have grown up in Denver since 1978 and I promise I will go without a funeral if this is the only choice in town at the point I need them. This is really disappointing for a local company that Ive used for countless ceremonies, with one small non-caring occurrence and employee and lack of ownership from one employee our relationship is done. I would strongly recommend using another company if possible.
