I had my first visit to Asheville Family Dentistry yesterday. Danniele (Hygienist) spent nearly two hours with me taking x-rays, interviewing me for my medical history, examining, cleaning, setting up my base line info, and explaining what to expect that day and during future visits. She is extremely friendly, personable, perceptive, and accommodating! I did not even realize I was there that long until I left the building. Dr. King performed my exam, was very thorough, and explained exactly what he was seeing and what it meant for my care. He identified one small cavity (that I knew I had), which will be filled next week. There were no recommendations for procedures that I would deem unnecessary. The rest of the staff that I interacted with were all friendly and seemed genuinely happy to see me. In fact, the positive background chatter I overheard while I was there made me briefly forget about COVID 19 and the general “unhappy employee” syndrome that seems to be so prevalent these days! Also, I should mention they do have Covid protocols in place, but I did not find them to be overly intrusive. It was a great experience, and I will definitely recommend them to my friends.

This is the best dental practice Ive every experienced. Super well organized. They do a very thorough initial appointment. Rates are reasonable and they filed my dental insurance. Ive worked with three of their dentists and liked all of them. I never feel rushed but rather welcome to ask any questions I have. Front desk staff is also very nice. I highly recommend Asheville Family Dentistry.

I have been going to Asheville Family Dentistry for at least 7 years now. The experience is always of the highest quality of care. My hygienist, Danielle, is the BEST Ive ever had in my life of 60+ years. She is very knowledgeable and explains thoroughly each of the steps of my dental care. Shes even pretty funny! I have been seen at least once by each of the Dentists and they are all very professional. I would highly recommend Asheville Family Dentistry.

I am impressed by the kindness, efficiency, and overall operations of AVL Family Dentistry. I am also impressed with Danielle, the hygienist. Much like nurses are the heroes, she felt like my hero at my latest visit. She is prepared, kind, thorough and knowledgeable.

It always a pleasant experience. No one likes going to the dentist, however, the environment is very relaxing and staff have always been very welcoming.

Danielle is an excellent professional. During my appointment with she educated me on the situation of my teeth, gums and the care thereof. Because of this my hour appointment seemed as if it was a very shot time. Danielle went above the call duty by personally calling and speaking with my Orthodontist concerning the my situation that he needed to know. I really appreciated this.

This was my first visit after moving to the area. I found them online and liked the idea of a small family practice. My experience was great. Barbara, my dental hygienist was very thorough and answered all of my questions. I was also impressed by the technology of the x-ray and scanning system they had. The staff was also very friendly and the precautions that were taken for Covid made me feel safe. My husband and I look forward to our next visit.

The office staff is incredibly friendly. I am especially thankful for Rhondas help. I recommend Dr. King if you are looking for an appointment. Overall, it is definitely an environment for those with plenty of disposable income. If you are on a budget and relying solely on insurance, I would suggest somewhere else.

I called WNC Dental today and Joy (literally) answered my call. She was amazing. Patient, kind, detailed, informative, and pleasant to speak with. Customer service at a dental office is so needed and Joy showed that today. I havent visited this office yet but just by the pleasantness of joy, Im looking forward to my visit.

As always, extremely professional, caring and patient centric. Would gladly recommend the practice to anyone in the commuting distance to Asheville.

As a Certified Dental Assistant and former Manager for a 4 Dentist practice, I am familiar with how a dental office should be run. This office and the personnel were exceptional.

I highly recommend Asheville Family Dentistry. I have lived in four states and had a lot of dental work, I have seen a lot of dentists. This practice is very professional and transparent. Questions are encouraged and answered thoroughly. They explain the treatment you need and why and show you all your x-rays. You are given a treatment plan with all the costs upfront. Most importantly they do excellent dental work! I know from past experience. My children go here too and the staff and dentists are very patient, they make it a priority to ensure kids are comfortable not afraid of seeing a dentist.

I am very nerve-wracked going into a dentist. Everyone here was very friendly and took time to make sure I was comfortable. Dr. King was incredibly understanding and compassionate. He described options and made sure I had time to have all my questions answered. Eve handled most of the visit taking a series of ex-rays and pictures. She was great the entire time. Really not happy with how my treatment ended up with this practice. I was in no pain before Dr. White treated me and now cant chew on the right side of my mouth due to pain/sensitivity caused by treatment of a cavity.My insurance was expiring due to being laid off and I knew I had a visible cavity to take care of. I scheduled an exam and was impressed with the practice out of the gate. The exam sadly revealed lots of developing cavities which the doctor felt were important to address, despite me initially only wanting one obvious cavity filled. I appreciated their willingness to squeeze me in for a long appointment.At the doctors urging, I agreed to more treatment than my insurance would cover - it is what it is but this is not the issue. The issue is that one of the cavities the doctor treated was excruciatingly painful after the fact. To clarify, I was in no pain *before* I visited this practice. The pain was so bad that I had to take OTC pain killers twice a day. Otherwise I would get radiating pain spreading up the side of my face, into my temple, which would then cause a throbbing headache.Dr. White agreed to take another look at this tooth and ended up re-doing the filling. This made a huge difference in the pain level but the tooth is still too sensitive to eat with. What is interesting is that re-doing the filling (not smoothing it down, actually re-filling it) made a really big difference. I cant help but feel like the filling was not done properly the first time and I suffered in pain for weeks because of it. But sadly I have no way to determine this without consulting another dentist and paying out of pocket.Despite my frustration with one of the fillings, the staff were otherwise polite and professional; the office is modern and clean. Dr. White does seem to care but I feel like I fell through the cracks somehow. The doctor seemed concerned about my frustration but his permanent solution was to pull the tooth or perform a root canal - either option would cost me more money to solve a problem that didnt exist (I was not in pain before I visited!) before I visited this practice; not to mention both options are awful!To recap, I visited this office with no existing pain due to any dental conditions. After treatment, I was in pretty bad pain for several weeks. One of the fillings was re-filled which improved the pain level, indicating to me that the filling was not done right the first time. To permanently resolve the remaining sensitivity, the doctor recommended I pay them to either remove the tooth or perform a root canal - again, the expectation was that I pay them to resolve a problem (Im referring to pain, not a cavity, pain is the problem!) that did not exist before I visited them!Oh and shame on you guys for astroturfed reviews, nice of your office manager Sabrina to give you a five star review :P Also your Thursday hours still show 9a - 2p for the Tunnel Road location despite having mentioned this to one your front office staff.

I called in the morning to request an appointment to have my tooth evaluated after having several toothaches. The office staff got me into the DDS chair in the early afternoon for an evaluation, All the staff are very professional and caring, I do not hesitate to recommend them!

Just went back for a maintenance appointment after staying home since March. Really glad to see the staff and the hygienist and grateful for all their precautions. No one else in the waiting room, they checked my temperature and pulse/oxygen, everyone was masked and the hygenist was double masked with an N95 and a surgical mask. They used a new water suction type that limits the spray. I felt there was no risk to me and that the risk to the hygenist was very little. Didnt need to see Dr. White but he is wonderful and I am always glad to know he is there for emergencies. Love the location on Tunnel Road--just a few minutes away from me.

The options for and cost of recommended procedures was reviewed in view of my insurance policy..Update: I have returned to have my crown procedure . The procedure when very smoothly. Most of my questions were answered before I could ask them. The staff made sure that I was always informed and comfortable.The one visit process was quick and painless. I never felt the anesthetic go in. No surprises were encountered. My new crown fits and functions as if it was my original tooth.

I am a new patient at Asheville Family Dentistry, having had only two appointments there; an initial consultation and a subsequent cleaning. But so far I am really pleased with my new dentist and the staff at the practice. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming, seem to be completely professional, knowledgable and attentive to my personal concerns and my dental health. And, unlike my previous local dentist who seemed more concerned about checking off costly procedures on their list of things that absolutely need to be addressed, Dr. White and the staff at Asheville Family recognized all of the same dental issues without the scare tactics and sense of desperate urgency. Instead, they assured me that any or all of these issues could be taken care of at my discretion, were not immediately threatening unless there was a drastic change in any of them, and we would continue to monitor all of my dental concerns together and deal with them as necessary. I MUCH prefer this cooperative approach rather than one that seemed more intent on creating a sense of panic and ultimately emptying my wallet as quickly as possible. I think Ive found my long term dentist!

My sister has had both doctors before at this practice and she loves it so I made an appointment.Crystal is my hygienist and shes awesome! I told her the last hygienist I had was a little rough on my gums. She always takes her time and makes sure its as painless as possible.I havent needed any major work with the dentists yet but they are great as well. I wanted to pass along my appreciation to Asheville Family Dentistry and Dr. Callan White for the experience I had on my first visit. I’ve never been to an office as welcoming, friendly, and professional as when I visited Dr. White recently, and that goes for any type of medical office visit I’ve had. The staff treated me like a familiar face when I walked through the door and acted as if I have been a patient for years, rather than stepping into the office for the first time. The waiting room was comfortable, the hygienist was just as kind and attentive as the office staff, and Dr. White was an absolute joy. I don’t think you’re going to find a more caring and knowledgeable dentist in the state. Dr. Callan found out that I would need surgery on a tooth and has been proactive in getting everything squared away, scheduled me quickly, patiently talked to me about the procedure, and he put my mind at ease the moment we began looking at what had to be done. This office and its doctors are compassionate and made me feel like I mattered to them, spent time working with me, and I knew I wasn’t just another set of teeth to be rushed in and out. I can’t thank Dr. Callan enough and if you are looking for a dentist you’re next stop should be to see Callan, and I know you won’t regret it.

Now we have a 2 year old boy and hes happily letting the dental hygienist polish and floss his teeth! This is truly a wonderful family dentistry!

I have thoroughly enjoyed the services of Asheville Family Dentistry for about two years. The dental work seems very good--actually superior to what I what Ive come to expect, and it is done quickly and painlessly. The office is very nicely decorated and has a few unexpected features: a waiting room computer for patient use, a free k-cup coffee machine with many flavors, WIFI, and a play area for young children. However, unless I get to the office early, there hasnt been a wait, but this could reflect the fact that I request certain appointment times. The support staff is very friendly, and if I dont have time for a cup of coffee before the appointment, they have always provided me with a to go cup and this is highly appreciated. Sitting in the dental chair, the view from the window is of nature--the woods and sky--and that reduces any tension associated with dental matters. These past two years are my first experience with dental insurance, and the entire office has been extremely accommodating in easing me through that transition, simplifying all the insurance matters, and decisions required by the insurance forms.

Ive had a lot of dentists and Ive had a lot of dental care. Dr. White and all of his hygienists are hands down the most gentle and knowledgeable (two things you really want inside of your mouth). I get a lot of cavities and Dr. White is the only person to ever inject me with novocaine so expertly that I barely felt it. Ive been complaining about sensitivity for years and somehow this is the first dentist to prescribe me a toothpaste that has solved my problem. And up until that solution was found, everyone who worked inside my mouth remembered my sensitivity and went out of their way to ensure I was comfortable. The ladies at the front desk make sure I get the maximum benefits from my health insurance, and are always willing to take the time to explain everything to me. In the past Ive had dentists who were really shy about recommending important preventative measures because they were expensive. This has come back to bite me and lead to more dental care being needed. Dr. White and his staff have been honest and straightforward with me about how to both keep costs down now and prevent accruing more costs in the future. I recently moved 30 minutes away but I still drive to Dr. White so I can get the best care.

Dr. White is great and the dentistry even better. I’ve been to many dentists in my day and my experience moving to Asheville and working with Dr. White has been phenomenal. The care, attention to detail and requests for my input really allowed my experience to be most excellent. My 6 Month Smile braces were kept up and adjusted very well. Once we got the braces off the results were exciting and continue to be. Continuing to receive my dentistry at Dr. White’s office will be my pleasure. Excellent is all I can say - had my first cavity in I dont know how many years and needed more than the simple cleanings I was used to twice a year - this process was far and above what I remember as a young man - Z E R O I mean zero pain, discomfort or hassle - the entire staff is outstanding, highly professional and very friendly - they even let me watch TV during the procedure - I would highly recommend them to anyone searching for a GREAT dental office and an even greater Dr. (Ware) and his assistants . . The entire staff and dentists provide excellent customer service and dental care for our family. We have always had great experiences when we visit for routine care or dental work. We enjoy the welcoming and comfortable atmosphere.

My 6 year old son had three cavities filled today. Dr. Ware had great bedside manner and knew how to interact with children. My son was 100% comfortable. He is back to his normal happy self. This is a mercury free practice that takes normal insurance.
