Originally scheduled for 11am, had to wait an hour because of staffing but they were very apologetic & accommodating after. You can tell it was accident and not a common problem for them. Moon did my nails and did an amazing job!!!!! She was sooo kind! I never get my nails done but she was patient with helping me decide what to do and I really appreciate that! She was gentle & paid attention to the little details! I can’t say enough how good my experience was. I will definitely start getting my nails done more often and come back to see these ladies!!! Book them! Walk in accepted if they are super busy.

I got an acrylic gel full set, and they did an amazing job!! Not to mention the staff were super nice and attentive, the salon was clean and organized, and the prices were good. Definitely recommend!

This place is so dirty im just glad I didnt get an infection in my hands. Moon did my nails and my left hand had about 5 small open cuts that hurt so bad and my right hand had one big cut. I told her and she didnt care her and another lady that worked there just laughed at me. I also noticed they dont clean their tools they use on customers feet and hands. I also noticed they treat white woman with respect but women of color they Tend do be rude. I would not recommend this place. Its very dirty small and tight and the staff very nasty and rude.

This was my first visit to the salon and I will definitely go back again. The pedicure from Lyly was relaxing, thorough, and beautifully done!

Tyler did a great job. Went here for my first time today. I was offered a beverage (coffee, tea, wine, or water). I got a full set with a manicure. I will warn you they charge for the shape of your nails and the length (I hate shoe that nickle and dime you). Another downside is the shop is a bit small. Id hate to see it crowded. A plus is they take reservations online

I absolutely love Ballston Nails! I am kind of picky about my manicures and every tech I’ve had here has done a fantastic job. Everyone is so kind and friendly, and it’s obvious every time I go in that they retain a ton of repeat customers. They have about a million dip powder choices, including so many glitters (my personal fave). The services are reasonably priced, thorough but efficient, and last beautifully - I’ve had dip manis from here last 5 weeks with no issues beyond grow out, and I am not easy on my nails. And they have an ATM in store in case you want to give a cash tip! Highly recommend giving this place a shot!

I try to see the positive in every experience, but I have to be honest here. I gave this place two stars because the staff was nice. I had visited two other locations in the rain trying to get my nails fixed on a business trip and this was the only one that could take me.The negative is that I spent $42 for a fill in and an hour of my time being cut repeatedly. My nail tech didnt seemed to be thrilled to do my nails at first and was very heavy-handed, yanking and twisting my fingers to do what she needed to do. My problems started when she sliced my pinky open filing my nails. She then kept filing and drilling over that spot so I kept yanking my hand away. She says (thinking I was nervous?) Oh it doesnt hurt. See? and ran the drill over my skin. I said it did hurt because she cut me. After that she tried to be careful but proceed to slice my thumb in the same way. By the end I had been nicked in four places - bleeding in two. The cuticles of my nails had also been filed off, so they were burning while my gel polish was curing. To top it off, the shape of my nails were inconsistent and my pointer finger looked curved and over-filed.Oh, she also asked for the tip in cash because they dont keep money in the store.. but yet Monday through Wednesday they offer 10% off for those who pay in cash. I left stressed out and in pain. My hands still hurt two days later and Im treating the cuts with Neosporin.All in all, nice atmosphere and nice people. Wouldnt come back again. I wish them the best and hope they continue to improve.EDIT: Knocking off a star. It’s been 3 days and my gel polish has come off. Waste of money.

Great products and service! Highly recommended by my friend. She has thick nails but i have thin. The dip helped to strengthen them. The selection is amazing and the employees are happy. Again, great work and happy people. A nice place to unwind!!

My boyfriend’s sister and I got full set acrylic nails done here for the first time today. I’m from Baltimore Maryland and have never been here but it was amazing! Great service and so quick as well as perfect nails. My technician, Tyler, was so nice and kept the conversation going and was so attentive asking how I wanted my nails every bit of the way and they turned out absolutely perfect. Best nail place over ever been!

I have gotten a few manicures here, hit or miss depending on which technician you get. I decided to give them one more chance to take off the acrylic nails they put on and do a gel manicure on my actual nails since they were finally long enough. To take off my acrylic nails, they were quite literally ripped off. They used another acrylic nail to pry my own acrylic nails off. Not soaking them in anything to soften the glue. It was so painful and something that I could’ve done at home. My one real nail was ripped off at the quick and I had to have the other ones shortened to match the one that was ripped off, which could have been prevented. Two of my nails were bleeding throughout the entire service due to the ripping off of the glue. I tried to give this salon a second chance and I paid for it. Will not go back.

Very bad experience it was the first time I went and it was very bad first they hurt my nails a lot they burned me with the glue and they made them horrible very thick and now my nails are very bad

So Ive made my rounds since moving to Arlington in 2015 and finally, I think Ive found my favorite spot. Had a wonderful experience here last night. The staff could not be warmer or more helpful, and the salon itself is spotlessly clean and relaxing (not overbooked/crowded/rushed, bright, loud, or messy like some). My mani and pedi both came out great; Vegan was my tech and I will definitely ask for her on my next visit. Thank you!!

I went to get my nails done one week ago and I was very happy with the result but 3 days later my powder nails began falling off. I paid $70 so for me it’s not worth at all. In other places i pay less and they last me 3 weeks. Definitely don’t recommend going there.

On June 12th, I was very pleased with the service provided by Libra. I ordered a gel manicure/pedicure with eyebrow waxing. Unfortunately, I noticed that in one week, my gel manicure is chipping and lifting. Im familiar with this service and I have been able to presentably wear a gel pedicure for at least 3 weeks. Very odd, this is this most I have ever spent in a nail salon and the results did not last. Otherwise the service was great, just not lasting results, so I didnt get my monies worth.

This is the only place I will get my nails done in Northern Virginia. Tyler is incredible! He always makes sure that he does an impeccable job on my nails but that his staff is well trained. They are friendly Every single time that I go in. The chairs are comfortable and they have an excellent selection of all types of polish including dip. If there ever is an issue they work hard to rectify it and they have amazing happy hour specials make sure to give them a call to find out what they are

First time at this nail salon, they were all professional and kind. Did not rush to finish the service and offered beverages. I had a gel pedicure and being a natural clumsy person i stubbed my toes twice and the polish did not budge. Highly recommended

Tyler did an excellent job. I came in with problem nails done by another salon and his knowledge and professionalism made me feel at ease. Tyler easily repaired them and made them look better than they ever have. I highly recommend their service as the salon is also very clean, they are attentive and professional.

Great service, clean facilities, and the friendliest staff. I came in for a French gel mani and regular pedi on a Friday. Kenny was absolutely wonderful. He gives special attention to detail and asks for input. Also he just a genuinely nice person. He and I talked the whole appointment; it was as if wed been friends for years. I am definitely going back!

Kenny was my manicurist and was very meticulous with my nails. I appreciate how nice he was and how much he cared about the manicure. That said, I was expecting for the manicure to be done within 30 minutes (as most are), but he spent too much time working on my cuticles: I had to ask him to rush so the manicure wasnt the best because of it (there wasnt enough time to dry).If I go back Ill be sure to explicitly convey my timeline to avoid a rushed job.

Everyone is so nice and welcoming!! This is my first time and definitely not my last coming to Ballston Nails &Spa. I got the SNS dip manicure for the first time and I had a zillion questions. Jessica was sooo patient, kind, and meticulous. I normally go to salons in Courthouse but the price, quality, and attention to detail is 5 star here! Looking forward to making this my regular nail salon.

Got my nails dipped for the first time and it was an absolute pleasure getting them done here. My friend raves about this place and I can see why! Tyler was so incredibly wonderful to me and even added a little bling for my nails as a birthday gift. I went here after seeing all of the positive reviews and was very disappointed. This was one of the worst manicures I’ve ever had in my life. The nail tech cut me FOUR different times, so my cuticles were bleeding by the end of the manicure. Additionally, my nails were all different shapes and lengths, looking very inconsistent and just sloppy. The nail tech also didn’t wait long enough for the top coat to dry, and had to redo one nail twice, and I still left with one nail smudged where she hadn’t waited long enough. On top of all that, the top coat of my dip manicure started chipping after just 3 days. Giving 2 stars because they were very nice, but it was a terrible manicure.

I debated on giving this review, as I only like to give positive ones. But this was very unpleasant.I came in for a first visit on the Sunday night after Thanksgiving for a mani-pedi and a paraffin wax treatment and was the only customer. I didnt want any polish on my hands, just a block buff/shine (my normal) . That took a few tries to convey. During the pedicure they asked a couple of times if I wanted some service, which would be more money. (Now, this is a pet peeve of mine, and wouldnt normally ruin an experience, but it doesnt set the mood.) The plastic lining in the pedicure water kept getting sucked into the spa motor and stopped the jets.They brought baggies of paraffin wax to put my hands in and it was extremely hot. She just submerged my hands in hot wax and kept it there. I told her it was hot, and she kept on doing what she was doing. This burned my hand, and my fingertips were still tender the next day. Not only were my hands hurting, the wax didnt adhere to my left hand, and it seemed pointless and expensive.The manicure was OK as it was happening. I decided not to do the block buff/shine because they charged extra for the service. Ive never paid extra anywhere else, so I opted out. That wouldnt have dropped my rating on its own either because a business had the right to set their prices and services. But my nails werent uniformly shaped and I had to redo them when I got home. And I got a clear coat of polish, which peeled off 4 nails by the morning, and was almost completely peeled off by day 3. No, I wasnt doing anything unusual. Im a student and was mostly sitting and reading, and there were no chemicals or even submerging of my hands in water.This low rating is due to indifferent attitude, burning my hands, non uniform nail shape, and very short-term peeling polish. Add that to the annoying upselling, I had a poor experience.
