I’ve been going here for around three months and I really like my therapist and the people I have got to meet through there. Honestly one of the best therapists I’ve ever had, I can tell she really cares about me and her job and always tries to do better. I never feel pressured to say anything, and I always feel comfortable talking to her. She has created a really welcoming environment and has helped me a lot.

I enjoy my time here, as I am still currently here. I have noticed a few issues but can be resolved through communicating. 1. When I first got there, I got a very good therapist and began seeing one of the psychologists there too. They both worked together and communicated what was going on and that reflected in my medication management. After both my therapist and psychologist left in December/January, I was referred to a therapist who did not match my needs or style. I also noticed that I felt like there was a lack of communication between old and new psychologist as well as therapist and i had to “start over.” It took me 4/5 months to realize that and get a new therapist, which is fine now but has effects on my health which i wish was understood and taken in account of 2. I do not like some of their rules/policies when it comes to money, participation, or phone coaching. If something happens with my mental health then I cannot text my therapist for 24 hours to show that they do not engage with “negative behavior.” If I’m 10 minutes late, I have to pay the 250 late fee (insurance covers my appointment costs but not late fees). I also feel forced to participate and feel as if my participation is what moves me through the program. I realize that you got to participate in group or individual therapy but if I’m having a bad day, i would like the option to just listen and be there. I don’t have that here sadly, as they want me to use skills then jump right into group and i feel as if it counteracts with my progress with the group. On a positive note, they have helped with a lot of aspects involving my mood!! DBT is a wonderful practice and I recommend it to anyone with any mood fluctuations. It is beginning to change my life, as i notice a big change in myself from a year ago to today! My advice is if you want to come here, it is a great practice but extremely intense. Make sure you are ready for change and hard work. Nothing wrong with it, just some things to consider.

The lack of care and the billing in this organization is atrocious. I spent $275 on an intake to see if I would qualify for a program they said would cost me $5000. I dont mind paying for their time if I dont join the program, but I think the cost to qualify (they were just asking basic medical history questions that could have been filled out on a form) should go against the cost of the program itself. I spent another $750 on the program with no real results. I decided to stop after that.I thought they were very unfair in how they billed their time. I showed up 10 minutes late because of traffic, so I had to eat that cost, but on another visit the same practitioner showed up 10 minutes late and I still had eat that cost. On another yet visit the practitioner ended the meeting 5 minutes early, yet still I paid same price. All that trimming adds up. I lost 25 minutes (15 because of their schedule issues and 10 because of mine) which equates to $138 of care. Then when I finally got my bills (they wouldnt work with my insurance company), I didnt even have all of the codes I needed to get reimbursed. I am still trying to get those bills reimbursed, but I will probably never see that money again.Every interaction I have had with this group has been awful. For example, in one visit I told the therapist I has was experiencing acute anxiety, and she just kept reading questions from her book. There was absolutely no empathy. On a side note, I asked for a referral for a dietician in my area, and they sent me to someone who I found to have very dishonest business practices. Im not surprised. Birds of a feather.A year later, Im looking back on this experience thinking I spent over $1000 that I will probably never see again on a treatment that gave me zero benefit. Ive seen a lot of doctors and processed a lot of out of pocket medical expenses, but Ive never seen a group that cost me so much and provided so little benefit.

Ive been going to PBS for the past 6 months (and went for a few months about 2 years ago). I had been seeing Julianna Twig for DBT. I had an incident with PBS involving payment. I made them aware that the person paying for my sessions is no longer in contact with me and could cancel payment without my knowledge, and to let me know when that happens. I had a pretty significant disruption in my life and was hoping my therapist would help me out instead of me needing to call everyday to make sure payments went through, and she said she would contact the front desk for me and let them know the situation. They got a direct phone call from the person that was paying for me notifying PBS that they were no longer paying. PBS waited 5 sessions, $750, to tell me about it. My therapist is back tracking on saying she would help me out and the front desk is claiming they made multiple attempts to notify me (I saw them in person twice before receiving a phone call and no one mentioned it when they saw me in person). Long story short, PBS is saying I owe them money for some of the sessions because they recognize they messed up, but also feel that I should have done more. I very clearly had my therapist tell me she would talk to them for me, but she didnt and now I have to pay their mistake. Ive had other issues with this place but this just confirmed they are mainly focused on money. Predatory behaviors for money coming from a therapy clinic is pretty sh*tty. DBT is really great and if you can find somewhere cheaper or an online class for it, Id recommend doing that over paying $1600 a month for pretty minimal help from the actual therapists.

I was an adult (late-20s, female) patient with PBS for one year. My input is below:Therapy: I had a spectacular experience with Elizabeth Wine (PsyD),  Andrea Deal (LPC) , and Ashley White (PsyD). Ive been to many practices, and I by far had the best experience working with these therapists. Very patient with treatment progress and observant of limits. I was confident they were always working hard for me.Psychiatry: I had a strong positive experience Dr. Kim, who has a warm communication style and includes you in the process.Group: Patients want to be there by choice and participate. I never had a class cancelled. Andrea and Ashley were great instructors. The content can can feel repetitive if youve been enrolled for a while, and sometimes the content feels superficial if you are the reflective type. Also, perhaps because of the particular program I was in and time of day, there werent many males in the group. Generally, the group was diverse in age and race and sexuality, though I was the only black group member.Admin: The front desk is incredibly competent and professional provides exceptional customer service. They followed through on all my requests in a timely manner and were very responsive and kind. I never had a single billing issue. The CEO is also very kind.Office: Very neat, aesthetically pleasing, and calming environment. Tea and magazines were a nice addition.Cons: The only con is that its pretty expensive for your average Joe or young person who isnt supported by parents (but then again, quality treatment comes at a price). Inquire about financial assistance.Feedback: Though I was matched well with my individual therapist, I wish the the intake specialist had taken into account my personality and therapist-style preferences. The group and individual content felt a bit dumbed-down and superficial at times, and a lot of time was spent reading from the book. I wish I could have had deeper discussions in individual and was asked to have 1 hour sessions instead of 45 min.

Great therapists but a shocking amount of administrative issues for a place that charges above average in the DMV area for their services. Constantly changing their organization system which has caused an appointment to be canceled and me showing up for no reason and for multiple billing issues. Also very reluctant to help with filling out information for insurance purposes.

This place changed my life forever. I have been through so many therapists and so many programs, but this is the ONLY program I 100% stand behind in it’s effectiveness in helping individuals like me with borderline personality disorder. Joanna is an incredible therapist and has helped me successfully navigate my interpersonal conflicts. I’m moving to Philadelphia this August for school and I’ve never been so sad to part with a therapist and staff. I highly recommend. It’s so worth it!

My son did very well with his first therapist at this practice. Unfortunately, she moved away. She was junior but very competent. The practice transferred my son to a gentleman who was a nice guy but had a completely different style that my son didn’t respond to.The practice clearly just passed my son on to someone who needed clients rather than take a look at what my son needed and who he responded best to.Just very disappointing.

Fantastic people. Fantastic programs. They literally saved me. Id recommend them 100%!EDIT- their prices are SO high and when I could no longer afford them I felt like I’d been deceived about how much they cared about my recovery because they never reached out after saying they would try to help me find other help. When I was paying them they were THE BEST, but they never contacted me after I had to leave and now they see my eating disorder app tracking how badly I’ve been doing (the app tells me they’ve checked it quite a few times the last year or so) but still never contacted me to my knowledge. Considering the premise of what DBT is for... I have to take away the 5 star rating. BPD individuals have so much trouble coping with feelings of abandonment, false promises about not being completely forgotten only make it harder.Admittedly, Elizabeth Wine was the absolute best therapist I’ve ever had short term!! They really are a spectacular office IF you can keep affording them.
