I would leave zero stars if I could. This was absolutely the worst car servicing experience of my life.To start, our 2020 Highlander broke down in June, only nine months after purchasing it. My husband was overseas on military duty, and my children and I were stranded on the side of a busy highway for two hours in 90-degree heat, waiting for Toyota Roadside Assistance to arrive. The car had multiple lights on, including check engine, low fuel, and secondary collision, brake system malfunction.The worst part was the experience at the dealer, however. They told me my car had a complicated issue that required the expertise of a specialist, who wouldnt be in until the following day. When I stopped to pick up the rental vehicle, two salesmen approached me asking what I was in for, and when I said, My eight-month old Toyota broke down, they didnt even express sympathy but rather handed me business cards trying to convince me to sell it. Absolutely despicable.In addition, they did not keep me updated at all on the status of my car; I constantly had to call to get an update. An automated text message system alerted me to text my questions, but every time I did, I received text messages not answering my questions, but rather encouraging me to sell my car.When I finally did get my car back three days later, I was told the problem was simply that I was OUT OF GAS. It required a specialist and three days to diagnose that?! Prior to the vehicle breaking down, I never had a low fuel light come on or noticed the vehicle was low on fuel.Meanwhile, we learned a month later while doing routine maintenance at another dealer (because I will never do business with Koons again) that Toyota had a recall on 2020 Highlanders due to a fuel system problem. The dealer notified us that this recall is no doubt what caused our car to break down.Knowing that, we felt we were due a refund of $170 for the fees from the car breakdown the previous month. But when we called Koons requesting the refund, they refused. Corporate Toyota was of no help to us, either.I will never do business with Koons Toyota again. Ill also never buy a Toyota ever again. Id unload our current Highlander if cars were not so difficult or expensive to purchase during the pandemic. Do your business elsewhere!

Ill start with the excellent customer service and patience I experienced dealing with Koons Arlington Toyota. The salesman (Alex Hobson) I dealt with was patient and worked well answering all my questions since I came from Cincinnati, Ohio to this dealership for my specific vehicle. Even though I has prearranged my financing I was fortunate to obtain better financing with Toyota thanks to James efforts. My new vehicle was prepped and ready for immediate travel. My one suggestion for this dealership would be to make the telephone number available on your website. Koons Arlington Toyota provided the highest caliber of service in my experience of buying cars over the past 40+ years. I would recommend this dealership to all my friends living in the Virginia/Maryland area.

When I found myself in the unexpected situation of having to purchase a used car because my beloved 2005 Volvo XC90 was not going to pass inspection and the expense of repairing would ultimately be astronomical, I contacted David King and he was ready to help me find a used car that would work for me. I totally lucked out. He was patient, kind and understanding when he heard my plight and the kind of features I wanted when it came to what I wanted in a vehicle. After testing one car that I thought would work and didnt, he searched the database and found a 2016 Subaru Outback and offered it as an option to test drive. I drove it and thought that this would be ideal for me, and it turned out to be the right fit. Several hours later, I was the new owner and when I had to follow-up with him and the other service folks at Koons a few days later, they came through for me and I can proudly say that I made the right decision by going to Koons and having David as my salesman.

I came to Koons service department to get my 5000 miles service for my practically new Toyota. After the service was completed I found my car parked with engine running on the parking lot (!!!!) about 30 mins after they messaged me the service was completed. After I opened the car door, there was what appeared to be a grease/oil stain on driver’s seat and a black greasy thumbprint right above the driver’s car door. Seriously! I went and got their manager Mario and he asked me to come back to get that stain removed. I would have to take time off work again to come back to fix their issues! After I got back during the week I asked him to give my car a wash and he said he’ll try. After 5 minutes Mario was back and handed me my keys saying the stain was removed and the print was wiped off. So if it takes 5 minutes, then could he do it the first time around so I didn’t have to come back?! Frankly, I felt that my exchanges with Mario were passive aggressive and he was treating me as a complainer, not as an upset customer with a clearly valid concern. The way I see it, I gave these guys my practically new car in great shape so please have the decency to return it to me in the same condition and don’t tell me “IF my guys did it, I’ll take care of it.” I’m not here to argue, just trying to take care of my car.To sum things up: I just moved to DC area with my car and was looking for a nice Toyota dealership going forward. Frankly, this one won’t be it! Customer service here is nonexistent and I can only imagine how their service department “fixes” cars if they are so sloppy!

Nearly 2 years later, were still receiving warranty calls multiple times a day from third parties that clearly bought information from this dealer. I finally filed an FCC complaint (case number 5044701) this morning. We declined warranty coverage for a used vehicle but did not know we would be spam called for years as a result. We sincerely hope this business practice ceases as its a genuine nuisance.

This is an updated review. After the initial feedback, Koon Arlington Toyota management promptly followed up to correct their scheduling problem and sent a valet to pick up my car. Since then, theyve been keeping me updated via emails, text messages and phone calls. Im glad they take customer satisfaction seriously.The following is my original review:Koons Arlington Toyota failed to show up for a scheduled safety recall service TWICE!I made an appointment with them twice: first in May, and then in August. In both instances, anticipating the scheduled valet pick-up, I had to change my plans and work schedule. On the scheduled dates and times, I waited without leaving the house all morning, but no one came to pick up the car. Not once, but on two occasions.From other reviews, it seems like Im not the only one experiencing the same problem. Koons Arlington Toyota needs to improve its scheduling. Systemically failing to honor customer appointments will lose customer trust, and it may affect Koons Arlington Toyota reputation.NOTE: This negative review (or constructive criticism) is for Koons Arlington Toyota service department. Their sales department is stellar. Ive bought two cars from them, and I have always been very happy with their competitive offers and superb customer service.

Had an appointment to get my vehicle picked up today at 0930 on 7/23/2021. I called yesterday just to confirm my appointment and told me Im all set (which they were suppose to call me prior before service day). Well It is now 1045, I called them and said it was not put into the system. Theyre going to get my 4runner now, will update if anything was done right or wrong during this process.UPDATE: @1835 7/23/2021They called me stating that the under panel threads are broken and cannot put the panel under belly. They were going to return the truck to me today but I declined so theyre able to fix it and they dont have to drive back and forth to my house to drop the truck off. I asked for a loaner which they dont have anything available at the moment. Hopefully theyll have one for me tomorrow because they are close on Sunday.Got my truck back after fixing the under belly panel. Gave me a rental. Only took a day for them to fix. Called Chelsea Johnson since the issue started on 7/23 and left her a voicemail. Never got a response back.

Highly recommend working with Henry Nguyen if youre looking for a great experience and a CPO vehicle. He is personable, knowledgeable, and a takes a great consultative approach throughout the process. We worked with the General Sales Manager to get the trade-in value and vehicle price and he even helped me move things over from my old car to my new 2020 4Runner TRD Off-Road Premium.

Federico actually sold us a Camry Hybrid in 2017 and when we went back to Koons Arlington to check out the trade in opportunity, we went straight to Federico. He was extremely helpful, informative and communicative, not to mention persistent. We were not sure we were going to go forward, but he worked with us and the dealer staff to reach a mutually agreeable deal, and then followed through to ensure everything was completed and satisfactory. If we need another car, well go back to Federico!

Had the most amazing experience with Koons. My intention was to get a used vehicle but when the mileage prevented me from getting the car I wanted, the agent helped me find a new car that fit my needs. Federico is awesome and knowledgeable. The process was smooth and fast I was done within 3 hours (WOWZERS!). I also like that it’s paperless walked out with a flash drive instead of a textbook of paper.

Cynthia Seda in the service department was excellent!! It was really above and beyond the call of duty. We bought a used Corolla at Koons Toyota at Arlington in June 2021.. The car had a few technical issues that needed to addressed after we bought It. Cynthia made sure the service was provided and parts were replaced to our satisfaction. It’s not everyday that one gets such outstanding customer service.

Would rate zero stars if possible. Scheduled a concierge pickup of my vehicle for 9:30 AM two days in advance. Got text message confirming schedule. The morning of, no one ever showed at appointed time and two hour window after. Called up dealership, was told the valet would contact me. An hour later, no call still. Called dealership again, they said there was no record of my appointment. Was told would have to wait until Monday to schedule something new. Horrible communication, lost my reservation, lied to me multiple times and wasted many hours of my day. Will never use this dealer again.

Found a good priced vehicle online, a hybrid, and received a call within minutes to come for a test drive and to learn more about the vehicle. Staff is very responsive and pricing is very honest, no hidden fees and they are rather upfront about how they price the vehicle. We also were not in the dealership all day long so we had time to go to dinner and more, they moved us right along once we made a decision and did not push us to hard to purchase any add-ons they offered if we did not want to. Recommend them if you are in need of a good car [get a hybrid :) ] and good service.

I had a good experience purchasing from Koons Arlington Toyota. When the 2021 cars were sold out, I was able to put down a deposit to reserve a 2022. When my car arrived, one of the sales managers and my salesperson informed me it had arrived. Saeed (my salesperson) even sent me a photo of the car still on the trailer and a video they made of my car! Truly thoughtful, above and beyond! The sales manager and Saeed were both helpful with all my questions. Overall I had a good experience here.

This shop charged me almost $500 for a repair that shouldve cost around $100. My car didnt pass an emissions test at another shop but they told me the problem was the OBD connector. I brought my car in and they performed diagnostics but couldnt locate the problem. Kept my car for over a week because their master mechanic was on vacation. Meanwhile their inexperienced mechanic did all kinds of unnecessary testing of sensors and couldnt locate the fault. When the master mechanic came back he located the fault which was the OBD connector had a loose pin. Which was the diagnosis I presented them when I first brought my car in!!! Then, several weeks after they gave me a receipt stamped paid they are now harassing me for non payment because they cant find their copy of the receipt and are threatening me with legal action. My advice is to avoid this dealer. They are are incompetent, rude and dishonest. They are also not BBB accredited.Update: 26 Aug, 2021. I communicated with Walter, the GM, and we were able to resolve the matter.

Very poor customer service for vehicle repairs. Ill pay less somewhere else for better customer service. 8:30 appointment was bumped 4 hours without any warning. Wouldnt be a big deal if I hadnt verified the appointment time the day before because Im from out of town.The rep I was assigned was very difficult to get in contact with, and was unable to figure out how to attach the invoice to an email.

I was told within in 30 days would have my tags and registration. 30 days pass, my temp tag is expired and no one even contacted me to tell me what was happening. That is just my one main complaint with the whole ordeal.

The service department at this place is the worse you can imagine. I was told to come in when I called to explain I need tire serviced due to a nail. I was told to come in and when I showed up they said they have no appointments available. The service advisors are plain rude. People here are the sweetest when it comes to selling the car along with the warranties but show true colors when you actually need the service you’re paying for. This isn’t my first instance at this place, I have been here many times and been treated badly by the service people.Never coming back here again!

UPDATE: My transmission shop spent a day and half trying to find something, anything wrong with my Koons doomed transmission. Their shop has a collection of maybe two dozen automobiles parked around the property, not a single one for sale... all simply having their transmissions worked on. At no charge I might add; from their website, Free, professional advice from experienced techs that care about their reputation. They determined there is NOTHING wrong with it. They could find nothing to repair nor charge me for. No amount of transmission work would resolve my issue, pursuing with my mechanic. Im going to go two stars now, benefit of the doubt.ORIGINAL POST: Jury is still out. I was as pleasantly deliberate as I could be in setting expectations for this service event. If IF my transmission, the reason for my dealership service department visit, in fact requires replacement ($6K estimate) and my recently changed coolant and brake fluid are in fact dirty, I will be more delighted in my $155 investment. If not, the degree of disappointment will vary with how wrong they got it.

I didnt know if I wanted a Pilot, Explorer or a Highlander and Alex made sure that I had a great test drive and really got to know the Highlander. He was very knowledgeable with the Highlanders functions, much better than the sales guys from the other two dealerships. Once I selected the Highlander as the car that I wanted, he worked pretty hard to find the right one for me and got it to the dealership just in time for me to do all the paperwork and drive it home. This is my second purchase of a new car from Koons Arlington Toyota, probably the last place that Ill go to buy a car ever again. They know how to do it right. This review is for the used car division. I purchased a vehicle 17 days ago. I was very excited, and happy with the service they provided. However, I have yet to receive my vehicle. I have been driving a rental car provided by Koons. They did not set realistic expectations as to when my SUV would be ready. I feel like they weren’t 100% truthful with me about how long it would take. Now I’m still waiting to get my vehicle delivered, and it’s not been easy to get updated on the status. Overall, I’m not happy with Koons Arlington and would not recommend them.

We had already been thinking about owning a car so we did some online shopping and they had everything pre done so when we showed up at the airport we dropped out bags at the hotel and went straight over to pick up the car. I’m going to bypass my initial interaction with the dealership by focusing this review on my salesperson. Her mannerism was exceptional because she never “pushed” the sale. Rather, she was calm and collected. Even when I tired to bring up my initial experience she calmly apologized and at the end of the day got me into a car. This was my first and only visit to Koons: Had an 11:45 appointment and car wasn’t pulled into garage bay to be looked at until 1:45. Would have been longer had I not asked attendant why car had not been moved since I arrived at my scheduled appointment time.They also spelled my name wrong initially, and after I had given them the proper spelling. Given that they did not have the attention to detail to simply spell my name right, I popped the hood after the service to verify that they had actually accomplished the services I had paid for. They had not. Additionally, my folio never came with a status of fluids, tires, etc like it would at any other Toyota dealership.They were unapologetic and told me that I could call back 24 hours later and request a refund.Go find a different Toyota dealership to take care of your valuable car.

I got my back brakes fixed by the Arlington dealership, and I left the service department with a louder squeak. Then I took my car back several times, and they still couldn’t fix it. I was advised that the front brakes were the issue, but I got those replaced as well. After 4 months they still weren’t able to fix my brakes. They keep coming up with excuses instead of fixing the problem. I found out the brake shim pads were missing and told them about it but I was ignored. I believe this is a case of gender and race discrimination. I ended up going to another mechanic and paying extra to fix my issue when I paid koons to finish the job.

We especially appreciate their new service where they pick up and return your car. Apart from a few small communication gaps, we have been happy with their service.
