Elis Service Station is a great place with great people! Had my car inspected here multiple times and it is always a great experience. Today, one of the service men helped me when I lost my registration so I could still proceed with my inspection. My husband also had a great experience here with his car. I highly recommend taking your car here if you need a service or gas!

Ive been going to Elis for my auto needs since I moved to Arlington from out of state about 5 years ago now, and have only ever had positive experiences. From inspections to brakes to diagnostics, they have always been prompt, open & honest, & Ive found their pricing is always fair for whatever needs to be done. They always give me the full gamut of everything that could be done if I wanted to do a full update on her (and have the time & monies to do so) and then immediately following they give me the run-down of what actually NEEDS to be done now, and what can wait untill the next visit in case I dont have the resources to have it all done at once (sometimes I go one way, sometimes the other... depending on how much & how expensive the list ends up being at the time). This is very much appreciated, and I have come to truly trust them to not attempt take advantage of me by trying to push unneeded/unnecessary services and the like just to increase the bill price, which is far more than I can say about prior experiences Ive endured with some not-so-honest nor sincere shops where I had to learn the long & hard way about in the past. I wanted to make sure I left a review as I feel Elis deserves all the stars for both their workmanship & their genuine professionalism. Thanks again!!

Brought a recently-purchased used car for state inspection. Within less than 1min in the car, their mechanic was able to detect that the engine was gone. He did a few more quick tests and recommended I take it back for a full refund because itll be too expensive to fix the engine. He didnt even charge me for this quick diagnosis.This diagnosis was later verified by the car manufacturers certified dealership and I eventually got a full refund from the seller.

Had a last-minute call to get a possible battery replacement since the car would not start, and it was like the 3rd time in the past month. They suggested that they got the new battery ordered first while I had my car towed there. And sure enough it was the battery and so no time was wasted and my car was fixed not too long after. Have been going here for state inspection the last few times. Sal has been great for me -- always transparent and treats me well. i have not had great experiences with state inspection stations, but now at least i know i can trust Sal at Elis.

Came here for car inspection. I was told it would be done in 15 min. And the inspection took about 15 min. Done quickly without any issues. $35 is the pricing for inspection, and non-negotiable. (If you have problems with this complain to the government.)COVID-19 note: Wear a mask. Theres no seating for waiting since they do not allow people to wait inside. And no real shade outside if youre there on a sunny day. So take this into consideration if you decide to wait for service.

I had a flat tire. They were very nice people. Tow truck was on time. Since they don’t have my tire right away, I helped me put spare tire on with a very small charge. People are so friendly. Recommend to anyone need service.

Eli’s is probably the best car shop I’ve come across in a While. I brought my car in to get a second opinion after my dealership said I need $1800 in repairs. George called me from the shop saying I owe him exactly $45 since my car was perfectly fine aside from a couple of loose parts which he tightened up. I was in complete shock and obviously incredibly excited. They didn’t try cheating me out of my money nor make up stories. I am definitely going back and recommend everyone go check them out! They are wonderful!

HONEST People. I slid into a curb and they took a look at it for free and said the rim is bent slightly but no leak. They also rightly recommended me to change the tires as they were old and had some cracks but they didnt pressure me. Will definitely come back 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

We have been going to Elis for several years now, and they are wonderful! They really look out for you. Most recently I took a van there because a check engine light came on. They identified what needed to be done (which was expensive!) and found out for me that there were 2 days left on my warranty, which I didnt realize! George the manager referred me to the dealership so I could get the work done for free, giving up what would have been a lucrative job for them. Further back I brought an older car in with an exhaust problem. George was honest again: he told me to do the job right, the parts would cost enough to equal the value of the car. He mentioned a cheaper option with other parts but warned it would probably not last long, so I ended up trading in the car. This was after he had spent a long time investigating the options and pricing them, and he didnt even charge me for that time! Likewise for the van he didnt charge me for the time he took to evaluate the problem and call the dealership. He clearly has a great deal of integrity and has your back, a rare and precious quality in a mechanic!

Ive been trying to find a mechanic I feel I can trust for YEARS now, and it seems like Ive finally gotten there. George took a look at my car and was honest and fair in his assessment, and also gave me some tips. Hes been very kind, fair and helped me to navigate car stuff, which I usually find overwhelming. I will be back to Elis for all of my future car needs--they are the best I have found in any of the places Ive lived.

I called Elis service station for help on figuring out what was wrong with my vehicle the man I spoke to was more than happy to help me. He walked me through step by step with what could be wrong with no hesitations he was excellent! Even though I have not solved my problem yet I am very appreciative of the help that he gave me. He was very nice and honest.

They put way to much oil in my Mother’s car, which can cause serious damage. She doesn’t know anything about cars so when she saw the oil light go on she pulled in and asked for help. They added oil and off she went. She told me the light was on again so I checked it today. It is past the highest point on the dip stick.

Drivers best friends! Low price gas (lowest in this area), and really friendly, helpful and honest manager. Went in for a flat tyre, got it done in about 15 minutes. Instead of being told at several place that I needed to change all 4, I only had to change the flat one! The manager helped dispel the myth around all wheel drive cars!

My cars reverse light was out. I got the bulb replaced at another garage, but that didnt fix the problem. I brought it to Elis to check for the circuit problem, and was charged for only 35 to get it fixed on the same day. The owner is down-to-earth; he may not be the most courteous person I have met, but he is very honest. I feel very lucky to find this place; this is the place I will bring my car to from now on.

My experience at Eli’s Service Station has always been positive. George, who is the head mechanic, and the person whom I speak with at the station most often, is extraordinary. He is a highly skilled and knowledgeable mechanic who is able to convey, in a very succinct way, the problem with my vehicle, the level of urgency of the repair, and what I can expect to experience should I decide to delay the work.The station is in a great commuting location in Arlington with access to several bus lines, which makes it convenient for me to drop my car off for the day so they can look at it and allows me to easily get to my job. George always calls to discuss what he has found to be wrong with my car and to provide me with the cost of the repair. They can usually do the work the same day and they have after hours pickup.It is rare to find any kind of service provider who has the expertise needed to do the job AND who understands the best customer service is to give people the information they need to make an informed decision, even if that means they won’t be spending money there that day.Eli’s Service Station has both qualities and I’m thankful to have found them.

Great service and price, but most importantly honest.

I bring my car to get brake pads replaced. It was done on time and same amount as the estimate. When I was braking, it was very noisy and get some vibrations. When I look at it, I discovered that they installed the wrong pads. They were larger than the disk. I had to get them replaced. They dont know well European cars at all.

I will be a customer for life!! I brought my 2002 Honda Accord to Elis to have the front end checked. I had been hearing a clunking and had rust issues repaired in the past, so was a little nervous. Unfortunately, my worst fears were confirmed - sub frame rust that rendered my car unsafe to drive (engine was at risk of falling out). The cost to repair would be more than the car was worth. George was incredibly helpful and understanding - taking his time to explain what they found, had someone drive it around the block to confirm, and explained in detail the process for repair (and the risks associated). He quoted a price that was a much better deal than the one from the dealership. After a long day of decisions, I decided to not move forward with the repairs. Georges response is what solidified my positive feelings about the place - he didnt charge me for anything, as he stated he would rather see me put the money towards something better. THANKS GEORGE!

For years I was quite unimpressed by Elis, and avoided using the shop there - despite living tantalizingly close by. But about two years a neighbor recommended them, so I gave in at last and I have to say Ive been very pleased with all the work theyve done. I think the difference maker has been their manager George, who is very straightforward to deal with and really takes time to explain what the trouble is. The repair options presented to me are always clear, reasonable, and affordable. I have never been upsold or had unexpected costs sprung on me midway through a job, and the work has always been satisfactory and completed in a timely manner. And I have to say I was very pleased on my last visit, when, after several hours searching for the source of a check engine light revealed a software issue that only the dealer could correct, there was no charge for the technicians time.

George, a mechanic here, worked on my car more than once so it would pass the emissions test. His Zen like calm, patience and willingness to explain the testing and diagnostic process helped me appreciate why certain problems had not been identified the first time around. The shop also waived the charge of the final repair to make up for the inconvenience, earning my trust.

Got my car inspected here on my way to work and just wanted to say how good these guys were. I had a directional bulb out and they quickly replaced it. I like this place and will use them again.

Brought my car in for state inspection, the failed me on 5 counts.They quoted me to fix the issues for $500+I decided that was too rich for me and I would fix at home.1 of the 5 things was legit (missing lug nut)The worst part is they quoted me over 100 to replace a non functional high led brake light, I checked at home and it works fine.I cant say anything for the quality of work but seemed like a lazy inspection looking to squeeze some money out of me.Buyer beware

Last week my wife and I were stuck 1,000 miles from our home in Kentucky with a suddenly burned out clutch in her Mazda5. Per a local friends recommendation I called George at Elis. I was able to get the car in a day later and he did a complete clutch replacement in two days. He also fixed a few other minor issues to ensure that wed make it back safely. As a DIYer I am always a bit nervous about having other people touch my cars but George was excellent and put me at ease. He called me with daily updates of the progress of diagnosing and fixing the car. I couldnt be happier with their service and will recommend Elis to all of my friends in the Greater Boston area.

I feel like I can really trust the people who work at Elis. I took in my car to replace my tail-light and brake-light for a reasonable price ($12 each), and Eddie did a diagnostic of my car without charging for labor. He informed me about corrosion and wear-and-tear on my back brakes -- then spent 10-15 minutes patiently explaining the mechanics and answering my questions. He did not pressure me to service or replace them in the slightest, just told me how to keep an eye on something that will eventually become a problem down the road.Its a down-to-earth place. People working there seemed to be busy handling several tasks. When I called, they often asked me to call back or could not answer specific questions without checking with the owner -- but dont let this discourage you. Everyone was communicative, respectful, and at the end of the day, they all get the job done.

The under fender protector broke and they looked at it without an appointment and temporarily tied it to the car. So grateful!

The other morning before leaving for work, I learned that my tires needed air in them which was most likely due to the weather. I called Elis Service Station and learned that their air pump was possibly frozen however learned that they could put air in the tires inside. When I arrived there, the mechanic tried to get the air pump to work and when it didnt, asked me to wait for a place to open up in the garage. Several minutes later I was on my way to work with the proper air pressure in the tires. Frequently I find that service stations have air pumps that do not work so I felt very grateful that this service station offered to put air in the tires in their garage . . . and they did not charge me. Everyone there was very helpful, professional and friendly. While waiting for my car, I observed how patient the mechanic was with several customers and was quite impressed with the excellent customer service. Needless to say, I will remember how responsive they were on a very cold day and will consider using their services again in the future.

Highly recommended. I brought in a used car that I was considering buying. Eddie put it on the lift and did a very thorough job of looking over the car, and found several small problems that I wouldnt have had a chance of finding. Eddie took the time to keep the car on the lift and point out all of the problems he found. I didnt get a report, I got a patient and complete tour of the vehicle. With all of these small problems added up, Im very glad I did not buy the vehicle.Above and beyond: While I was looking at the car, my 1 year old son had a poop explosion. Eddie offered to lend me and my wife his own stroller to get my son home!

Mechanic was friendly, up-front about costs and time estimates on when repair would be completed.I had no problems with him, got a great deal, and my car was fixed without issue. Would definitely recommend them, and use them again.

My Rav4 check engine light on, tire pressure light so I had a hard time deciding where I should bring my car for repair where I would have the least chance of being ripped off. I live near Elis Auto Service and buy all my gas from them and get my vehicle inspection done there every year so I checked out Yelp and Eli had above average reviews for auto repairs. I called made an appointment, my work schedule is tight and they took my car the next day. They called with an estimate for all repairs needed and proceeded to do the repairs. My car was finished the next day as quoted but did not pass inspection due to 2 oxy sensors being replaced. I had to put some miles on the car and bring back to Elis -car passed inspection -got regular inspection sticker so Im a happy customer. Elis repair cost are average-not the highest in the area and I would recommend them for auto repair for people who are afraid of being taking advantage of .
