I was looking for a hot water heater to be installed. Their price was fine, but after further investigation I found they’re not licensed! This is unethical and, more importantly, unsafe. Stay away!

I chose Paragon after reviewing three bids for my 32-year-old boiler. These guys are the boiler experts - I felt confident after talking initially to Kevin and Andre, and went with them despite the slightly higher bid.Scott was the lead on the install supported by Danny - both were outstanding. On day 1, starting at 7:30 am, they removed the old boiler and replaced it with a Burnham boiler. On day 2, they re-did the piping, added the new bells and whistles, and then finished up most of the work before they left at 6 pm. Scotts demeanor was excellent as was his professionalism; same for Danny. After they left, we noticed some issues with the system pressure. Scott came back that night (Friday night) and then again on Sunday to ensure the system was working. They knew right away what was to be done - and came in Monday and re-configured the system for optimal performance. Our system has a lot of nuances, different types of heating systems, etc. - all in a 100+ year old house!I recommend Paragon - but most importantly, get Scott and Danny to do the install - they are terrific.

Scott & Danny came out today and replaced our furnace and hot water tank. They were very friendly, courteous and efficient. Scott explained exactly what they were doing, went over issues we had with our old equipment and advised us how to avoid those issues from happening again with our new equipment. They installed a new Nest Thermostat and walked us through the entire process on how to work that also. I will definitely recommend Paragon to any friends, family and other businesses! Chris was fantastic. I had a seized circulator pump on my boiler and he was able to quickly diagnose and fix it while providing an in-depth overview of my system. He then performed a maintenance inspection and checkup on my 32 year old boiler, advising me on the current and potential issues with the various components. Tom K replaced an existing tankless water heater about a month ago. Great job and quality work. I had a minor question afterward and they were very responsive in addressing it. Paragon had addressed and corrected issues many years ago after a different company messed up my initial tankless installation. Paragon may not be the least expensive but I trust that it will be quality work, they will stand behind their work and they will do what needs to be done without recommending anything that doesnt need to be done.

After doing the traditional interview/bidding, I selected Paragon. Honestly, theyve been around forever, and came up in the search for tankless water heaters, and I had never even heard of them. Happy to have found them!I had a 20 year old water heater thats been on its last legs since we moved in, and finally replaced it with the tankless. Kevin came and bid the project and spent quite a bit of time looking around (and also diagnosed real {not saleman} issues with our furnace - ugh). They install a couple types, and are on the same same pricing level as the other businesses. He gave options, which I liked.Then, Scott and Nate came out for the install. Flawless. They were on time, very courteous, and answered all my questions. They neatly fit everything into the chaos of an old house basement in about 4.5 hours, which is less than I had planned.Id highly recommend Paragon if youre thinking tankless. Bert came out today to evaluate ongoing issues with our tankless water heater. He was professional, donned a mask and protective shoe coverings when entering our home and was able to fix our issue within about 2 hours. He found problems that other companies missed. He was knowledgeable and offered suggestions to prevent the problem from reoccurring and what we should do if it happens again. Awesome.

Don did a great job installing a Nest Hello video doorbell for us. We have an intercom system that Nest formally doesnt support. After showing Don a youTube video of how someone was able to install it on a Nutone system, he was able to adapt that for our M&S Systems intercom. Most companies/electricians wouldnt even attempt this kind of install and troubleshooting. So our Nest Hello rings not just our phones and Google Home minis, but the house intercom system speakers! This is exactly what I and other intercom owners want with Nest Hello. Thanks.

Skip this place unless you are doing something simple like having a doorbell installed. Simple jobs seem more at their speed and competence level.I had Paragon out to troubleshoot a Navien combi boiler and domestic hot water system and started having the same issue I called them out to solve within 4 hours of their technician leaving.They solved exactly zero of my problems and failed to troubleshoot properly with Navien, then sent me a bill for $405.Later, I spoke with Kevin Polka at Paragon about options for warranty swapping my unit, or possibly installing different equipment. In so many words he implied that I was being cheap for asking questions about the quoted hours he was conveying.Bottom line, dont use these guys for something more complicated than a doorbell.

Had Bert come to the house because my tankless water heater wasnt heating. In under an hour he had it up & working again. Well have them back out to replace the busted parts, but for now, we have hot water. Clean, professional and arrived early!

Bert identified issue and got tankless instant water heater back going, but had to come back to replace thermostat override/shut off. On time, professional, cleaned up, including wiping down a bit of spray when clamp popped off, and replaced gasket so there wasnt a slow leak. Great job!

As a construction professional for over 30 years, here is my review - Paragon came out to replace a 60 gallon indirect water heater tank. With this replacement I request that a new mixing valve be installed and re-pipe the hot water circulation line. When they arrived neither worker knew about the new mixing valve and re-route pipe. I was very surprised. They did not have the parts required to the job. Even though they had a stocked work truck, still not the correct parts. After the one worker arrived back with the correct parts, they left only one guy working (the other guy did not participate in the work as should have been expected). It was getting late in the day (way later than expected) when he needed additional parts, So I actually had to call around town and find the parts needed to complete the job and pick up and pay for the parts as well. If I did not do this we would not have hot water for an additional day. This should have been a simple and straight forward job that should have taken less than half the time. After that, dealing with Kevin was a very unsettling experience. After charging me an extensive amount of time at a high labor rate and over 50% mark up on materials, they only credited me one hour. The job definitely should not have taken 15 hours to complete if they were prepared for the job with with efficient workers.

Bert got here promptly and discovered the problem quickly. Very satisfied.

Contact with the office was easy and the gentleman who assisted was very nice. Set up appointment and follow up communication with email and text of appointment and who the service technician would be with picture! The best was the service I received from Don J. the tech. He called me when he was on his way. Installation went smoothly. I needed a small upgrade to my doorbell to accommodate the Nest Hello and he was prepared with what was needed. Don J. was very knowledgeable about the product and was great at explaining things to me to be sure I would be able to use my new doorbell without a problem. I love my Nest Hello and will be buying another to install at a side door. I will be calling Paragon again and asking for Don J!

Doug and Dan installed a new boiler for us and I was impressed with their work. They took really good care when removing the old messy cast iron boiler not to damage my walls or floors and the new system is very neat and tidy looking. I think they might have actually left my basement cleaner than how they found it. Im really happy I went with them.

We had an issue with our Nest thermostat which ended up needing some rewiring of the boiler electric. Chris did some fast troubleshooting, rewiring, testing, and we were back in business pronto. Chris was extra-responsive to my persistent questions, explained everything carefully, and was still done within an hour. I hope we never need their services again, but if we do, Ill definitely call Paragon.

Amazing! Cory and Kevin helped us out on a very hot Sunday when our AC broke and we had to worry about our newborn baby. They were so kind and understanding. They did everything they could but ultimately we needed a new unit. Cory and Doug came first thing Monday morning and had everything installed and cooling by 10 am. Well be customers for life!

We installed 2 Nest thermostats for the 2 units in our downtown Chicago high-rise condo and something was not quite right - cooling was working but not heating. We reached out to Paragon and they quickly sent Chris out to investigate.Chris was able to identify the problem (missing common wire) and implement the solution quickly. He has very professional, on time and very articulate. Great job Paragon! We will call them again when we need HVAC work.

He arrived promptly, followed superb social distancing protocol with a facemask and gloves, provided me with valuable information and feedback about the status of the heater and was wicked quick with repairing the unit.All in all the work was completed at just under 1 hour and I am beyond satisfied with his work, professionalism, courtesy and his advice. I was happy to find that when I called the phone number listed to schedule my appointment, a real person picked up the phone. The scheduling process was very easy and everything went as the representative described. The installer, Chris, let me know via email and text message that he was on his way to my residence for my appointment. It was very reassuring to see a photo of the technician that was coming out to visit me since you can never be too safe in the city. The installation was quick and Chris was able to answer all of my questions without hesitation.

I found Paragon via Lochinvar’s (my boiler manufacturer’s) website and I’m glad I did. My system has never been quite right so Chris came out to assess it. He thoroughly explained how it should work and what could be done to make the system run better—mostly small adjustments rather than costly additions and repipings. Chris definitely knows his stuff and was quick to offer solutions without simply bashing the previous contractor.He showed up on time and the pricing was thoroughly explained ahead of time.

We had Paragon install 2 tankless water heaters in 2017 and they have worked great.We were having some issues with the units and Bert was sent out. He found so mistakes done by the gas company and fixed it on the spot. Bert and Paragon are great Highly recommend using them for everything.

We lost heat on New Years Eve and thought we were in big trouble. we called several heating companies and heard nothing back until we came across paragon. i got their emergency service line and a real person in illinois actually answered! we had to pay a premium for holiday service (understandable) but the service was prompt, the technician was knowledgeable, and it was clear his priority was to restore my heat and not run up a bill on me. We had heat again before midnight!
