After paying a large amount and signing a contract on the website, I went to pick up my rental. The locations clerk tells me that because of a new policy, he cannot allow to me rent out the van that I already paid for.As annoying as that is, Id at least expect a refund or a heads up days before that theyd couldnt rent to me so I could cancel and make new plans. They didnt, they were useless as the contract their company had me I signed. Do not do business with them or the company of Hertz. They do not care about customers, and it shows with their laziness and poor customer service voices. They seem to be more worried about going to bars and drinking their worthless IPAS. Budget and Enterprise are much better companies.

Luckily I called the drop off place in Annapolis if they had a key box for early returns. When I arrived at the Annapolis Hertz rental address there was no Hertz sign or logo. The Pep Boys building had a key drop box but no hint of a Hertz location. Some person opening the store assured me that inside was a Hertz desk and I could use the key box. The new Hertz may want to take note and put some sign up. Im not the first to mention the lack of a Hertz sign.

I was told I had to drop off at the hertz location instead of them picking the car up..( They drop off to my house,but they can’t pickup at my house 🤯)Made it very inconvenient for me.State Farm needs to reevaluate their contract with them.

Employees stole personal property that was left in the rental vehicle refused to follow up, blew me off and refused to look into what happened.The lack of customer service and professionalism was appalling. I urge you to not do business with this location because if there is an issue it will not be looked into.

The staff @ our local Annapolis Hertz local are amazing. The Mgr. (Chris) a true pro ...in lieu of hectic workplace & typical huge Mon. morning rental demand, I was amazed. If a viable option, I highly recommend.

The rate was much more palatable than going to the airport, but the location was trash. Theres no signage letting you know that its inside the Pep Boys. The truck didnt have a full tank of gas and I honestly dont believe the interior was sanitized nor cleaned before I received it...you know...because of COVID.

ASHTRAY ON WHEELS. I rented a car for 2 days and paid in advance on Priceline. They gave me a car that literally reaked of stale cigarettes. I couldnt get another car as I was going to be late to my appt. They process your paperwork very slowly. Sean should have figured out a way to make this right but said because I paid in advance he couldnt give me any credit. THATs why I got this car, It was a sure deal!! Go across the street to another car rental agency.

I use this location all the time. They may be a hole in the wall location but, they have amazing workers, are friendly and adequate in taking care of your rental needs. Christopher manages this location and he is such a nice young man.

Chris has as always come through. I needed a van for my sons move and he personally picked up the van from BWI and brought it to us. He left 6am from his house to get it to us by 9am the same day. He has always been easy to work with and accommodating Hertz is a great company to do business with!

Picked up my car and got an extra surprise with an upgraded model - a Nissan Altima: new, clean, wonderful! I didnt want to return it! Employees offered prompt and courteous service. Couldnt ask for any better. I will definitely rent from Hertz West Street again!

I honestly dont know why this place have so many bad reviews. I recently rented a minivan for my family trip and since the moment I walked thru the door I was welcomed by one of the staff members. The office is very small but since I was in and out in like 5 minutes it really doesnt matter much. Staff member was very friendly and helpful, explained everything to detail and walked me around and inside the car to assure it was ready to go. He even offer a color for my rental (sounds odd but it seems like people actually avoid certain colors even when renting). Returning process was also easy and very quick, a diff staff member but same great service. PLEASE NOTE my rental was during Memorial Day Weekend which is ALWAYS very busy in Annapolis with the Navy graduation and all other activities.

It began snowing when I realized the windshield washer pump was not working. I pulled into a gas station. Having no wifi connection, I could not look up other Hertz numbers to exchange the car. I called this place. I was informed, Sometimes the fluid freezes. Theres nothing I can do about that.

The current staff is extremely friendly, professional and helpful. Will definitely use this location again .

Drove around the place for over an hour, on phone hold for about half an hour, no sign indicating Hertz is inside Pep Boys on West St Annapolis! You think they would at least tell the customer! Never Hertz again.

It was a great experience the young man that helped me new his job very well he showed me everything inside the car on how to work it we looked at everything on the outside together he was very helpful and very pleasant it was a great experience

This Hertz location is incredibly understaffed, but the employees I worked with were more than courteous and helpful. The cars I received were decent, in fully operable condition, and had no major issues. Both, though, had an awkward Hertz GPS/webcam/roadside assistance unit permanently mounted to the dashboard that could not be powered down--even if I didnt want the service.

Anyplace in Annapolis or even BWI is a wiser choice. If your insurance company tells you that you have no choice, demand a different place. It is people like us, people with car insurance who are keeping them in business. If you still think that its a hassle to demand that you get a car from a place that wont rip you off in every way they can then just please remember this when youre mad as hell at least one time while dealing with Hertz Annapolis: I WISH I COULD GIVE THEM A 0!!! I am 44 years old and can count on one hand the number of times that I have posted a review online. I just felt compelled out of empathy for my neighbors in the Annapolis area to warn you!

I rented my car because my Ford was in service. Lady Sky was absolutely a gem; she gave me critical information and a very clean brand new car (by pure coincidence). My documents were complete in literally minutes. She made it so easy for me that an extension of the car for another day called by the Ford dealer did not have to be called in again (same rate as previously booked, thanks!). They have a very good business-to-business relationship, so, I could drop off the car at the dealers service where Hertz picked it up later (with phone call at drop off time to stop the counting clock). Lady Sky is a very sociable person who was able to relate to my personal issues so easily, and I sincerely enjoyed interacting with her. I know she earned my confidence (reviewed on 11 May 2018). Thanks, Lady Sky! PS: She warned me this is a temporary location.

Dont go there..you need to have fiction score of more of 650 to rent a car at this place...unbelievable .want cross street to budget and I was out in less of 3 minutes..and got better deal...

Twice Ive scheduled pick up, twice theyve called to tell me only one guy was working and they couldnt pick me up right before the scheduled time. Unorganized and the majority of the staff could not care less about offering good customer service

I had a reservation but they didnt have my car when I showed up. They didnt seem at all bothered by it and only offered to call me if something came in later. I always go to enterprise but they didnt have any cars this time. Never using this location again.

What a JOKE to even call this a business! DONT GO HERE. I called 3 days ahead to make sure they had my info and reservation. No problem was the answer on the phone. I get there at the time slotted only to hear: We can get you a car in a week. A week??? This told to me by the guy coming out of the dump of a trailer they call an office. Save yourself the frustration and book at Enterprise down the street.

Closest Hertz to home. Rents mainly to insurance replacements so the cars come back beat up. Hertz needs to add man power so the cars get cleaned up better.

Limited business hours on Saturdays, only open until noon. No after hours dropbox for keys, forcing car returns only during weekday and Saturday business hours. Every car I have rented from this location has been extremely dirty inside and out. One car only had 3/4 tank of gas when I picked it up, yet they charged me for a full tank of gas. Several times the cars have been beaten up and missing external parts (hood logo, etc.). The selection of cars at this location is extremely poor. The people staffing this location are OK, but not up to the levels that I typically experience at Hertz locations elsewhere around the country. I think the staff is just overwhelmed with work and severely understaffed. The office is just a trailer and is primitive at best. Hertz needs to invest in this location and step up their game.

Had a car provided to me from this Hertz location through State Farm after after an accident, so I had no choice. This has to be the worst Hertz car rental facility, in fact, any rental car facility, I have ever experienced, the office is what at best can be described as a primitive shack with a strong smell inside. The service provided is of the same quality. The car was ok. But no dropbox to drop a key after hours despite Hertz putting Sunday as return date in my paper work. No flexibility, understaffed, just unprofessional. If Hertz headquarters knew about this place I am sure they would shut it down immediately as its nowhere close to the standards I am used from them.

I was getting charges made on my bank account over a month after I rented their car for days I didnt have the car. It was hassle trying to get my money back. One young lady at hertz seem to care. Please watch your account if you rent from them. I mean not a little amount, it was almost $200.

Look at your bill before you sign they tried to sneak in the insurance when I specifically told them no my insurance covers rentals
