Update: $450 later, THE REFRIGERATOR IS NOT FIXED. Whatever repair the techs performed did not work. So now, not only was I charged twice and had to deal with that hassle, not only am I out a LOT of money I can ill afford--I still dont have a working refrigerator. Zero stars. Stay far away from this company--assuming you want actual effectiveness and not a very costly, time-consuming frustration.Original review:Repair is not complete yet, but I have been charged the full price TWICE. On the diagnostic visit, the tech asked me to write a check, so I did, for the full amount of diagnostic fee + repair. Then he claimed the check wasnt accepted by the mobile app, after trying it 3 or 4 times. So he asked for a card. He charged the debit card. Next day, the full amount was withdrawn from the debit card. The following day, the check was cashed!Customer service was no help. They say that all Ive paid is $170, once, not the full amount, TWICE. They said all they could do was write an email to billing. One person gave me a number for the billing department, which led to a short recorded message and automatic hang up. I was told by another person that I need to file a request in writing with copies of my bank statements and so on and that after its received theyll think about it for 10-14 business days. I asked the CS rep what I was supposed to eat in the meantime. Crickets.DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. This is absolutely unacceptable. I have currently paid $900 for a repair that is not even complete, and their records show I paid less than $200. And thats leaving aside the fact that on the first visit, the techs app didnt work, he couldnt order parts, so he gave up and rescheduled. While my refrigerator was not cooling. In summer. Will definitely be looking for a different service in future. STAY AWAY.after reading other reviews and responses, please note I am not on facebook, so please dont reply with an option to write to some facebook entity.

Not good for me at all no more seats products for this household no wonder you closed stores. Called for service guy said he cant do anything without a serial number? I cant find paperwork got it or what I have is all blurred out bought Im 2012 Kenmore built in oven. What For is a serial number have to do with a element. You had the model number. So I ordered the part on the phone while the guy standing talking to my husband. Did nothing to offer any type of help. 179.00 part came today and I need someone to put it in ?? I guess since you refused the second you will do it again and charge me for service. The only way I am ever dealing with Sears is if you pay for the part and send a repairman that knows what he is doing or there will be no business for you from here. This is really a runaround with this oven where is the serial number on my unit??? No where to be found. This is why you are getting a poor review from me.i am a senior citizen and we live on a tight Income.

Do NOT ever use this Sears Warranty appliance service. Do NOT purchase this warranty either. It is the WORST customer service company I have ever dealt with. Been dealing with them over a lemon refrigerator for 3 months. The employees keep hanging up on us, no one person has told the same thing. We cant get a manager! Tell us they will call us at a certain time, and NEVER hear from them. They tell us every refrigerator replacement we want is no longer available to us when their website shows it is. Then hang up on us. Worst company ever!!!

Sears came out to service my 22 year old Craftsman riding mower. Steven took the engine apart and replaced the head gasket right in the driveway and the tractor was ready to go again in an hour. Didnt have to take it anywhere and wait for it to go through the service queue. Excellent job - runs like new now :-)

My technician was fine but the whole experience was horrendous. I had to schedule 4 visits before someone finally came out. For two of those, I waited through the entire 4 hour block and only got a text rescheduling me AFTER the window had passed. For the other, I got a text the night before saying I needed to get online to reschedule. I understand that COVID has created issues, but this poor communication is inexcusable. When I tried to voice my concerns and get some questions answered, I could not get through to a human on the phone at all. Via chat, I was given an email to contact, but I emailed them twice and was twice told they would not engage my concerns until after Id had my service (which it seemed I would never get). When a tech did finally show up, he diagnosed the problem but then charged me $175 in labor -- to put in a plug and four screws. It was infuriating -- putting the old part back in was the same labor as installing the new one, except for $175 in labor and an upcharge on the part because it was in his truck.I feel completely fleeced. The tech then tried to sell me (as corporate had no doubt demanded) an inflated appliance warranty for $600 annually.I will cease my business with Sears from here on out.

Do not get anything done from Sears home repair, should have known not to schedule anything with them given that Sears is a failed company. My LG fridge compressor blew, and i went with sears for the fix because they were the ones who were able to come out the fastest. The tech came out and quoted us and said he would not be able to fix the fridge the same day because parts were not available. He set up a parts delivery, and I paid around 650 dollars up front for parts and the labor for fixing my fridge which was supposed to be done the following week on 6/26.Come Friday 6/26 i received a text message stating that my appt had been rescheduled to 7/7. I called Sears that day, and after 2 hours of holding I finally spoke to someone in a call center, I asked for a refund for the service which was never provided, and I told them that they needed to set up pick up of the parts they shipped. The call center person started that I would get a call within 24-72 hours to arrange for the parts to be picked up so that the refund could be compete. It is now 6/30, i had not recieved a call from Sears, so I spent another 2 hours holding, being repeatedly disconnected on. Finally spoke to some one at a call center again, they now say it will take 5 to 10 business days before i can get any more information about my refund, and he had no clue about returning parts. He then had the audacity to ask if I wanted any home services from Sears.

Last November, technicians from this store came out to repair my washer/dryer. They repaired the unit but did not tighten the high pressure supply hoses with a wrench - they used their hands to tighten the hoses onto the washer. In the 3 days it took me to discover there was a leak, over a $1000 of water damage was done. I hired a different plumber to come out and see what the problem is - he is the one that noticed the loose hose connections. I filed a damage claim with Sears and over the course of the last 7 months, have been redirected multiple times to file a claim and have gone months without my calls or emails be returned. Sears and Sedgwick Claims Management Service (the investigating company) just denied my claim by stating that the leak was coming from the house plumbing and to please contact a plumber to replace the line. I have not had a subsequent leak since the last plumber came out and tightened the hoses with a wrench. I cannot stress enough that I will never buy an appliance from or utilize Sears technicians ever again.

My husband had to use a vacation day to stay home waiting for the repair person— our assigned “arrival window” was 7am-4pm. We didn’t hear from them all day, so my husband called just before 4pm, and while he was on hold, we received a text notification that our appointment had been rescheduled for the next day, sometime between 7am-4pm. No phone call from them, no offer to make up for the total no show— and seemingly, an expectation that we could afford to just take the whole next day off of work too. We asked if they could at least offer up a shorter possible arrival window (ie.in the AM or PM) but they wouldn’t even do that. Alas, our stove will go unfixed until we can find a local appliance repair place that will provide better customer service.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I have used Sears several times in the past and have had great experiences. This time around that was not the case! I called Sears Appliance Repair on Wednesday, 8/17, to schedule an appointment and confirmed Tuesday, 8/23 between 7-11am. On Tuesday at 10am, I hadnt heard from the technician and called to get a better feel for what time he would arrive. I was told that I wasnt scheduled until Wednesday 8/24 between 7--11am. This was not a mistake on my end as I wrote it down next to my phone while talking and underlined it several times while I talked to the scheduler. I had even called another place to see if I could get in somewhere sooner than Tuesday but the other place I called had the same availability so I kept my appt with Sears. Unfortunately, the scheduler was very incompetent but thats another complaint for another day. So today, 8/24, I waited for the technician to arrive between 7-11am. At 11:07am I called to find out why he wasnt here yet and at what time I could expect him. The call center rep confirmed that I was supposed to have an appointment today but for some reason the appointment hadnt been updated by the technician. After being put on hold for 5 minutes while the call center rep talked to Dispatch, I was told that there was a system glitch and I wasnt on the routing schedule for today and that they wouldnt be able to get here until tomorrow. Thats Day 2 of taking work off to ensure that I would be here for the technician. When I complained, the agent didnt offer any other alternative or a solution. I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on out.

I mean when you press that the water flows and then release it the water flow does not stop. I highly recommend do not buy KENMORE ( or any refrigerator with a water filtration system ). Be careful. You and I are not able to see the interior until we remove it into parts. But there is mold inside it. This is dangerous to the health

We ordered the package of appliance maintenance that Sears advertises, where multiple appliances can get checked all at once. Unfortunately, it was our experience that a *different repairman* came out for each individual appliance, at five different times. This was tremendously inconvenient. Each individual did a great job, but it required that someone stay home for the entire day. Some of the repairmen were even a bit surprised themselves to hear that we had to deal with this. This promotion would be much more effective if all appliances could be checked in a single visit, and the repairmen indicated that this is often done. We werent sure why it wasnt done in our case, but an 8am-5pm calling window is simply not convenient. Participate in this promotion with care...

My Kenmore Elit Refrigerator stopped working after 35 months after it was delivered to my home. The problem was that the compressor failed. Sears denied my claim under the original 36 month warranty stating the warranted time starts at the time of purchase not the start of service. Sears did provide an extended warranty for me to purchase at the time of my trouble call.It took twelve days and two service visits to fix the issue. Sears Appliance Repair initially cancelled both service visits late in the time window that the technician was to arrive. The reason was claimed to be that the technician called in sick. Each service visit was rescheduled for the next day. In my opinion the reason for the cancellations is truly due to poor scheduling on Sears Appliance Repairs part and not that technician had called in sick. In both cases I had rescheduled my own business plans as a result of the cancellations four of my business days were impacted. It turns out that the first visit was not to fix the problem but to simply diagnose what the issue was, order the required parts, and schedule a second visit (one week later) for the actual fix. During the second visit I learned that the compressor in this Elit model is failing on almost all units in the field beginning as early as 12 months of service; that Sears Appliance Repair is aware of the issue; and that most of the technicians have many sets of the required parts already in their van. The second service visit was needed because Sears Appliance Repair chose not to schedule sufficient repair time during the first visit even though it was well aware that my refrigerator was not holding cold temperatures in either compartment which should be a red flag to the scheduler that the compressor had failed. There are two clear problems here. First, Sears has a significant quality issue in almost all Kenmore Elit refrigerators. Instead of recalling and repairing these units at their cost they appear to be waiting for the units to fail in the field hopefully after the unit is out of warranty so that the customer pays for the repair. Second, Sears Appliance Repairs scheduling is ineffective and not truthful. It appears that they have no plan to fix an issue on the first visit and they are not truthful with the customer when visits are cancelled. This has got to be hurting the reputation of both companies as well as adding unnecessary operating cost. Each of the two service technicians that visited my home were very courteous and professional and went about their work efficiently.

My experience with Sears Appliance Repair is only from the perspective of our lawn tractor. For the past two years we have needed to have service. Last year it took so long (8-10 weeks) that I almost considered getting rid of it, but finally it was repaired and I was reimbursed for the additional rental expenses I incurred. That was good. This year I thought I would be proactive and schedule a tune-up, along with some new wheels for the cutting deck. I got an appointment within a week (good), but before the service repairman showed up, my tractor wouldnt start. When he did show he got it started, did some diagnoses (about 30 min) and then informed me he would be ordering all the parts, plus the tune-up kit, then had me pay for the tune-up parts and service up front.Clearly he wasnt coming to tune-up my tractor that day, nor did he even have the parts. Sears, caused me to take a full day off work (because the window is from 8am-1pm) and then didnt even bring the parts. Why come at all? Then of course, I had to schedule another appointment 2 weeks out to get the parts and tune-up done. Two weeks later I had all my parts, and because I just cant keep taking days off work for a lawn mower, I had someone at the house. Your service repairman calls me to ask if it was raining, because if it was, he wouldnt be coming out. This rang a bell. Last year the same thing happen and the repairman cancelled my service for that day and had to schedule me 3 weeks later. Now I dont know about you, but I think there are things called rain coats, tarps and pop-up canopies. You cant expect everyone to have a garage. After some direct conversation the repairman did come out and completed the work. When I got home to start the tractor to mow my lawn it wouldnt start. Not again! This same thing happen the year before, and I think it was the same repairman. This guy clearly doesnt understand customer service and I have to question his ability to do the actual work. There was a gentleman from the same company last year that came out in the POURING rain, put on his rain coat, and fixed my problem. That is service! If it wasnt for the person I had at the house noticing what he had done to start my tractor I wouldnt have been able to figure it out. The real starting issue is the ignition and with a little magic I have been able to keep it running this summer. I would call in for service, but I dont have the time and certainly dont want the same repairman to return.Heres the deal Sears. Do you have customer support that customers can get parts and even diagnose their own issues? I dont want to wait 2 or 4 weeks or even longer to mow my lawn. I also would expect service repairman to show up with the parts or the products to do the work, because you told me on the phone when I made the first appointment that they carry more parts on their trucks. My time and your other customers time is valuable and you are doing us a disservice. We buy the warranties to get good, timely service. If you cant support them with good quality repairman and provide good customer service, then stop offering them.

The worst experience as a consumer that I can remember. Started off with a no-show and being lied to and complete incompetence on getting a tech out to repair our fridge. Multiple parts needed to be ordered and my case manager couldnt tell me when they would ship. Another no-show appt later and things really got ridiculous. My case was elevated to a case manager who was useless, couldnt return a phone call and did nothing to help us. Will never buy from Sears again.

Was updated via web on tech arrival time. Tech was professional, informative and completed repair in a timely matter. We should have bought our Dryer from Sears instead of local dealer. There was a bad part on Samsung Front loading dryer that broke about 2 weeks after use. Samsung said there was not a local company to fix, but we found Sears. So thankful as we did not want to have to move that thing in and out the house again!

Repair guy told me he needed to pull the washer out from the wall in order to do the repair. Because of the way the dryer is situated, that also required moving the dryer. He said hes not allowed to move the dryer, which, it turns out, has a really simple attachment to a wall vent (it slides on and off the attachment -- no tools, no nothing). I am not strong enough to move the dryer by myself, and didnt understand the vent anyway. Sears installed the two machines, so its not like they didnt set it up that way. Luckily, I happened to have stacked two repair calls at same time, so I had a plumber fixing something else -- he very nicely explained the vent issue to me, and helped move the dryer. What an idiotic situation. I would have been completely stuck. Im never calling Sears for a repair ever again.

Second time my mower has been maintenanced by a Sears technician. Both times he has been on time, listens very well and makes needed adjustments. Thanks! My tractor still purrs like a kitten and cuts like a tiger after 14 years of mowing a 1 acre lot.

Absurd experience with Sears. I dont write reviews too often but I had to inform you about this service. My dishwasher broke so that we had to find the repair service. After some research on Google, we picked Sears for the sake of better reviews. The first technician came and diagnosis results was the heat pump (even through my research of Bosch error code 20 was pointing to the resistant motor, but he is the pro). We finally received the parts after 10 days, and I called in to confirm the appointment. I talked to an agent over the phone to confirm the next day appointment and received the email confirmation. However, by the end of the time window, we still didnt see the technician. so i had to call back. The customer service agent told me that it never confirmed the parts arrival in their system! What do you mean? I called yesterday and I still have confirmation email in my inbox! They apologized and moved the appointment to next day. When the second technician finally showed up, here comes the interesting part: we were told that the first technician didnt triage it right and we need a different parts to ACTUALLY fix the problem. He will order the new part and came back in ten days. What??? It would take us more than a month to fix a dishwasher? I was really upset so I called the customer service that night, but guess what? their system didnt have the report from the technician yet, so she couldnt expedite the shipment, but she confirmed that this could be treated as an emergency situation to request for faster shipping. She told me just to call back tomorrow. Then I called back again the next morning. I asked to speak to the manager, and the answer i got was sorry, we couldnt help you. They couldnt do anything about the part shipment, couldnt move the appointment date, not even adjust the price for the second order (needs come directly from the technician).By now, I have called the customer service ten times, and it never really helped. The problem is still not fixed. I was also thinking about the Sears home protection plan once this service goes smooth. But I will never do it with Sears given such a bad experience. It was just a pain, all they can tell you is that we are just a call center, we cant control the third party technician so we are not responsible for what they did wrong. To me, that dishwasher was an easy problem to fix. Imagine if we had problem with our Heat in winter, living in Michigan for 1 month without heat is a disaster. Way to go Sears.

Took the day off work. Tech never showed up. Supervisor offered to reschedule me out two weeks. I had them open an internal investigation into the technician (employee ID 0005934). Still you have an employee who fails to perform a service, you don’t wait two weeks to correct it. I needed to make 9 documented calls between the tech and the 800 to confirm the appointment today due to a miscommunication in their offices/tech and the tech still didn’t show after being assured they would. Then he lied about it. We’ll be buying elsewhere in the future and choosing a more reliable service provider. In addition to the tech not showing up, there were errors made in our email address for confirmation, promises for a call from dispatch that never happened and a supervisor that put us on hold for a half hour and then we were disconnected.

I contracted for them to inspect five appliances. They inspected one that I did not contract for, since they claimed that they could not service my gas dryer. They serviced it anyway and then doubled charged me for inspecting my washer (for which I had contracted under the lower rate). Now they cant refund the over charge. Not impressed.

I had problems with my sears elite dishwasher withE2-F2 error which indicates monster problem. This is a very common problem with this dishwasher and I thought by now they will know to fix it.After 4 visits they determined that the dishwasher was not repairable and they told me since I had maintenance agreement they will give 500 dollars. This dishwasher has a control board, a panel and two motors and they could not fix it. I can not imagine what they were going to do if they had to repair somthing more complicated. I will never buy a maintenance agreement from sears again.

Called to see where I could purchase some agitator dogs so I could repair our washing machine before I left on vacation as my husband will still need to do laundry. After about 7 minutes on hold I was told that the repair and parts centers are closed for the day. Ok. Could you tell where the nearest one is so I can go pick up the parts tomorrow. The response was a mumbled parts and repair is closed for the day and then abruptly the call was ended! Thanks for NOTHING!!!
