Absolutely phenomenal! So friendly and when I walked in they asked if I had a picture. I did and they replicated it perfectly. Honestly better work than the picture. Pon is extremely thorough and diligent with her work. Very pleasant to have a conversation with too. I’ve never experienced service like this and I honestly can’t say enough great things about them. Will be back!

Everyone seemed nice that worked there. But I was asked to pay before they did my nails. Which made me extremely uncomfortable and Ive never had to do that before with any other salon. Also seemed like i was only one asked to do that... The lady that was doing my nails seemed confused on what she was doing. Another lady told her things to fix while doing my nails. I got a manicure. I asked for a design and she didnt want to do it and said didnt know how. She kept messing up putting the nail polish on and redoing it. Manicure wasnt the best. Probably wont come back here again.

My sister and I went to fantasy nails to get her nails done for our vacation, we were treated very rudely by the staff and they refused to do one solid color on her nails. They were very rough, they tossed our hands around and grab them with force and even cut up her hand. It was the worst experience of my entire life and I am ashamed to have paid for such service

Overall, the service was good. Making an appointment on the phone was super easy and they had pretty good customer service over the phone. When we got there the guy up front seemed a little rude. Maybe it was an off day for him I dont know.The girl who did my nails was new, but she did a really good job.Unfortunately you can still see where my actual nail transitions from pink to white. Granted I did choose a white polish but Im just not too thrilled about that (4 coats). Otherwise, everything else was good.Update 2 years later: went back for a gel manicure ($30) and love it. Would go more often if it wasn’t so pricey.

The nails look okay but the actual service was really lack luster. The man (I think his name was Sang) who did my nails wasn’t very friendly, grabbed my arm and harshly moved my fingers, and hurt my skin with the drill. He also made a few snarky remarks. The nails look fine as I said but the customer service was really bad. I’d recommend Tony Nails, LA Nails, Pella Nails, Nails and Beyond, or the Rio Nail Bar instead tbh. Also after reading the reviews a black woman said she was asked to “pre pay” for her nails and that also does not sit right with me at all 😬

They did my nails and I asked for a lot longer than I got, the shapes were all different and so where the lengths, and the worst part one fell off after 2 days of having them on. Would definitely not recommend going there.

I’m actually in the salon right now and the first thing I noticed is the diversity. All types of people work here of different races and it’s fantastic. The people really take time to understand what you want and are nice right away. It’s clean, they got me in right on time, and everything turned out great. Highly recommended!

I have been coming here, and actually one of the designs on my nails is up. These people are some of the nicest, most polite, and practical people you will EVER meet. Right from the get go, they made me feel like a person, and not just a client. I have pretty bad issues with my cuticles bleeding, but they are so gentle with them, they dont bleed. Everytime I come in I feel welcomed. If you want to go anywhere in Ankeny, go there.

Went in to get my nails done; no appointment. Never needed one before. Told I would be seen in 15 minutes. I wait the 15 no problem. The 15 minutes turned into 30 minutes. I’ll never be back. Do not say you can do my nails when you do not Have time. Thanks for wasting my time. This is the exact reason I stopped going to grace nails as well now your nail salon. So long Fantasy Nails.

They make you pre pay if your not from the area or if you are of color

Made an apt and had to wait 40mins when I got there. Total ended up almost 50$ for a full acrid set where as everywhere else in ankeny is 35. Kept asking if I wanted gel when I brought my own color. Had to file my own nails when I got home due to acrylic being on my skin. Didn’t use a new file on me or switch heads for electronic file. Will not be going back.

It always takes me a while to warm up to a nail salon. After my nail lady of 10 years welcomed to much drama into her salon, I had to find a new one. I am a loyal client. I expect loyalty from my nail technicians. If I come every 2 weeks, I expect to be treated well. My first impression of this salon was initially that it was beautiful inside. It was definitely a place I trusted to not give me an infection. Kevin did my nails first. He was very quick and kind of rough but did a great job shaping my nails. Ive been going now consistently for the last 6 months and now they recognize me when I come in and make sure that I am comfortable. I did have one issue where the lady who waxed my brows took off almost the whole thing.... but I knew better than to get my brows waxed at a nail salon anyway. Go to an eyebrow threader for your brows.

I have gone to Fantasy nails a few times and enjoyed having my nails done. The shop is clean and generally friendly. The last time I went in to have the powdered dip removed my nails were ruined. The man ground down too far which has made my nails thin and extremely weak. They actually hurt when I went home. I have not been able to get them to grow back after several months. My nails normally are especially strong and at a nice length. Not only did this happen but when I called to let them know they offered no help to remedy the issue. The man also was on the rude side when he was working with me.

This was my first visit to fantasy nails. Everyone there was very nice and accommodating since I was a walk in. I had Kelly do my nails, I got gel done. She was very sweet and did a phenomenal job! I will definitely be back!

I had my pedicure done and the girl talked to me and made me feel better about one of my toenails that was bruised and looks black and being gentle to it’s pain. On the other hand, the guy who did my acrylics dug into my nail beds and made me bleed on half my fingers. The skin around my nails is all torn up, the nails are all different lengths, and he was not talkative at all. He came into the room, said sit down, and did my nails not even caring when I said ouch. Most likely not going there again, would not recommend for acrylics.

I received a gel pedicure at Fantasy Nails today from Tim. He was absolutely wonderful! It also included an amazing leg massage. The facility was very nice, the massaging chair was relaxing, and I was even given a bottle of water! Highly recommend!!

I have been coming here for years and have been very pleased. Sang always does an outstanding job. The newer dipping powder is very durable and lasts for weeks. Everyone is welcoming and helpful.

Went to Fantasy Nails for the first time today and was very pleased with my pedicure and the customer service! My technician seemed newer, but took her time and made sure I was completely satisfied with my nails because she was done! Highly recommend!

I dont get my nails done very often so always have trouble choosing colors, I dont know rhe difference in nail mediums, or even the shape I want. So when I travel I like to treat myself to a mani/pedi in whatever town I am visiting. From the moment we walked in everyone was very helpful, greeting us with smilesI wish Id have got the name of the man who did my nails. Ive not had a man do them before and was a little nervous. He was patient and accommodating when I changed my mind halfway through my pedicure. He was funny so ir helped me relax. Ive never been to a salon where the customer service was so good. Ill be back in Ankeny and will absolutely be getting my nails done at Fantasy Nails.

I have always been pleased with service at this business.

Been going here on and off for 9 years, because this was the place my mom would go when I was young. Their new location is beautiful but their quality of work has become spotty and making an appointment is a bad idea, they take too many walk-ins and you will have to wait 30 minutes extra.PRO: Prices have always been decent considering the quality. Many color options. Staff are always sweet. Katie and Lee are my personal favorites because they are detail focused. They are picky with their results, so you are never disappointed. I believe there are 3 other Techs there do amazing work there but I have not had the chance to sit with them.CON: They have gotten lazy when to come to cuticle removal and just use the dremal now. This means the skin around the nail no longer gets maintenance and looks dry, peely an hour after getting them done. Some look dry before you even leave because they skip the lotion massage. Another disappointment was how they removal color. They do not fully soak off the nail color. They soak long enough to make in sorta soft then buff the rest off. This is very damaging to nails and my nail bed got very thin so i remove my own gel, and dip now. Some typical minor problems include: a few of the staff apply gel poorly and leave bubbles, glue stuck under the nail, or drills lines in your nails with the dremal.

Fast, clean, friendly but a little hard to understand. reasonably priced. I always go back when I have a chance.

The gal that did my pedicure was good, but was not impressed with the gal that did my dip manicure. Most of all the dip was applied so thick that it suffocated my nails. 4 months later my nails are in terrible shape, they are soft and weak, and break every time they start growing out! My nails were so healthy before I went there! Not recommended, not impressed.

I didnt make an appt but only waited 15 minutes and they were super busy. It might not matter to some but because English was spoken well, I had an easy time explaining what I wanted. Great customer service. Know that tips are cash only. Pon is excellent.
