This was my first experience with Anani and was thrilled from the beginning. Kat was amazing and taught me so much! My haircut was perfect and I am extremely pleased! I will definitely be going back!

First time visit and Dani and everyone I interacted with was amazing! Went for a cut and color and my hair can be difficult sometimes with coloring and Dani took time to change it after the original process and made sure I loved it before I left. The cut is beautiful and she made some great product recommendations to preserve the color! Beautiful salon as well! Definitely would recommend!

I went here to correct my hair. I had an excellent client experience it’s just that I paid 3 times for an error on the stylists behalf when I asked specifically for a toning treatment and got 3 glazes instead and it didn’t last. Then my hair treatment that I was recommended ended up drying out my hair.Once again great overall experience— wonderful people and so nice! But I was definitely overcharged for something I could’ve avoided had she followed my initial request. And the products I took home were less than amazing. But this was my first ever experience here.Thank you again for your patience and service!

I have been coming to Anani for a while now and couldnt be happier with the salon and service. Kaylee is an exceptional stylist! Very attentive, easy to work with, and so friendly. Shes also great with my 6yo daughter!! Kaylee always listens to what you say and is good with checking in regarding how Im feeling about my cut and coloring while shes working. Hands down the best in Ankeny!

I don’t usually write reviews but had to share- Kaylee did an amazing job at giving me exactly what I wanted! I got a balayage/cut done and it was truly perfect! I love everything about it and would recommend her to anyone looking for a perfect color.

The customer service was amazing from start to finish. I loved how everyone was around my age and super nice. Very attentive and relaxing atmosphere.

I scheduled an appointment on the phone and put it in my calendar. I schedule my day according then I walk in and they tell me they had a different time. The receptionist should do their job better. They told me one time but scheduled it a different time. I get my hair done in Ames usually but decided to try a salon I didn’t have to drive far for. I guess I’ll be driving to Ames still. Very disappointed. Make sure if you come here you call multiple times to make sure they got it correct.

All receptionist apparently was sick at the time, just two stylist with no other customers. I couldn’t get any of my questions answered and kept on pushing me to come back or they would call me with the answers. Going through all that I decided to get a gift card anyway, but neither one knew how or I felt didn’t want to write one up. Not exactly what I was looking for with such a highly rated salon.

I have been to Anani for my prenatal massages and loved it .They were friendly, accommodating, and the service was excellent. Thus, I decided to go for a haircut yesterday, figuring the service would be just as outstanding. Unfortunately, I was wrong.When I first checked in, I was asked if I wanted anything to drink and I asked for water and they said they would get it right to me. The water never showed up. Then I met my stylist, who was very nice, and showed her a pic of exactly what I wanted - just a nice trim with a bell shaped bottom and layers. She said that it would mean not taking a ton of length off my hair and showed me about an inch. I agreed thats what I wanted - didnt want the edges of the bell any shorter than below my shoulder. She agreed.She started with a scalp massage which was basically just her acting like she was shampooing my hair - there was no massage to it, sadly, as that was something I had been looking forward to.When the haircut started I couldnt really see what she was doing and she wasnt checking in with me on the length. I started seeing very long pieces on the floor and asked her what she was doing. She said she was cutting the length and thinning it. I started getting nervous then as she hadnt mentioned anything about thinning it and my hair is fine so I like to keep my hair thick.By the middle of the haircut, I got so nervous I asked to see how long it was in the back. She pulled it forward and the whole length barely covered my shoulders. I almost threw up and told her it was shorter than I had wanted and not to do anything else to it.Ultimately the haircut looks terrible and Im very sad as the cut I had wanted would have looked beautiful and I had grown my hair out specifically for it. There is no bell shape to the bottom and the length is horrible. Being a girl used to longer hair, I feel like Ive been scalped. It will definitely take a while to get used to this new normal. Its even hard to get a nice ponytail out of it.I dont have any hard feelings against the stylist, just extremely disappointed that what was supposed to be a luxury few hours as a new mom turned into a nightmare. I wish she had checked and made sure every step was what I had wanted and double checked the picture. Definitely not going back for a haircut again.

Anani is one of the best! Tiffany is an incredible stylist and the owner, Abbey, just has a heart of gold. You will not be disappointed with your experience at this salon.

Myself and my family has been getting haircuts and massages at Anani since they opened their location in Prairie Trail and have been very happy.

I had a spafinder gift card for $100 and walked in for an appointment. Showed them the gift card and they said they accepted this gift card there. After my overpriced color and cut, they couldnt or didnt know how to run the gift card for payment. They let me leave and said they would call spafinder to work it out with them.They later called me demanding me to give them another form of payment or they would report it to the authorities.Besides this hassle my my overall hair color with highlights I had an appt. for $180 wasnt what I got. They said they didnt have time for that. They could do the color and cut. They did a root touch up and not overall color. Said they would blend some of the top hair color root touchup into my lengths of long hair. She only took 2 Strands of long hair squeezed color into them for the blending into the lengths and that was it. When I got home and evaluated my hair. The color on top was brassy kinda orange looking and looking under the top layer there was still gray about three different colors, in a horizontal pattern. It still looked like gray roots growing out. The hair cut was noticeably uneven on the right side. The length was not the same on each side about an inch difference. She didnt do anything with layering my bangs.Got a call from them informing me that they dont accept that $100 giftcard I had, and need to pay for their services. I complained about the misinformation telling me they would take the $100 giftcard before I had their services, and now they wont, after the fact, Iwould have to pay out of my own pocket a bill of $140 for the uneven haircut and color, she said they would fix my hair. Make another appt. Which I did and she fixed the hair cut to my satisfaction. When i asked if she was going to redo my color the hairdresser said she didnt have time and a color fix had not been authorized, would have to speak with the manager again. At this point I just paid the bill. I was tired of haggling with them. It wasnt worth all the hassle or my dignity to ask them to fix my color too again. Initiately They offered me another complimentry glass of wine when I had complained about themnot accepting the gift card after they told me they would. The free glass of wine was the bestpart of my experience there. A free glass of wine while they did your color.Sa laVee ee!!

First haircut there was a pleasant experience, like my new haircut

Extremely disappointed with my experience at this salon. I just moved to town and previously got my hair done by the same person every time so I was nervous to try somewhere new. All I needed was a root touch up (which normally runs about $80 most places) but I thought Id go somewhere a bit more pricey in hopes that they would do a good job. I have always had root touch ups done with foils so when the hairdresser asked if thats what I wanted, I said yes! Keep in mind I had made it very clear I wanted a ROOT TOUCH UP. When my hair was done I noticed that there was still very visible outgrowth but I was in a hurry and left. A couple of days later I tried to wear my hair up and it made the roots even more visable. The hair dresser had only hilighted the roots and they did not match the rest of my hair in the slightest. I payed $160 for a half ass root touch up and trim. When I called back to ask if they could fix the problem my hair dresser told me that she thought I wanted highlighted roots. NOT THE COLOR OF THE REST OF MY HAIR and if I wanted it colored (my hair is blonde) that I would have to pay for it. The fact that this circus hair costed me so much money was one thing, but they couldnt even fix it after the fact. very saddening.

Had the best experience here. Everyone was so nice. The music was soothing, massage was great, facial absolutly amazing, manicure and pedicure was excellent, my hair and make-up turned out perfect. I had bought 2 awaken packages for my mother and I and we were so pleased with our experience. My only complaint was we had to eat our spa lunch in the waiting area up front. BUt the food was very good! If someone is looking for a soothing and relaxing experince, this is the place to go!

I called and scheduled an appointment for a cut and color. I ended up getting just a color during my appointment because I was told there was no time. I also walked out with enough color on my face that I refuse to go out for my date tomorrow. Asked how I can get it out and was told it should come out in 2-3 washes of my hair. However in the meantime I will have to live with lines of color on my forehead and other places. Will not be coming back.
