DO NOT LET SHELBI CUT YOUR HAIR!SENIOR PICTURES (almost) RUINED!So I have my highschool senior pictures tomorrow and just wanted a simple clean up with scissors. Unfortunately Shelbi was insistent to completely buzz my sides (especially when I like my sides well blended with my top) and ruined my haircut for senior pictures.Thankfully Brandie Jo was there and was an absolute master of haircutting. (And has the pins of experience to prove it) She did an amazing job of fixing my hair (that Shelbi ruined) to the best it could be fixed and thankfully now I can at least get my senior pictures done tomorrow without looking like a total fool.I would recommend that Shelbi get more practice before cutting someone elses hair, or at the very least teach her to cut what is asked for.Normally I go to The Groom Room in Ames, and will continue to go there to get my haircut unless Brandie is working when I need a cut.

Hit or miss on a great cut but I keep coming back so that pretty much sums it up

Ive been coming here for a few years. Ive always had good service until today. Michelle is my usual stylist and is amazing! Today, I booked my spot online, and arrived 10 minutes early. 45 minutes past my scheduled arrival time, I was still waiting. However, there were people coming in and getting cuts right away. People came in after me and were leaving while I was stuck on a 2 minute wait for 20 minutes. Ive got things to do besides just wait for a haircut all day. Im going somewhere else. From now on Im not coming in if Michelle isnt working.

All the stylists are great! They care about making you look your best and they recognize you when you come back! It is a great feeling walking through the doors and being greeted like an old friend!If you haven’t tried this location yet, your first visit you get a free mvp upgrade (at least when I started they did and believe they are still doing it) and you will never go back to just a plain haircut again!

As a female going into a bussiness made for men it was overwhelming the first time, however all the stylists were very accommodating non judgemental and extremely helpful. They made me feel comfortable. I like short hair and might as well go to a place that specializes in the style I love.In Ankeny Iowa that is the place to go.

Time for capitalism to work, catering to nonsensical mask mandates for vaccinated people with no scientific data to support it does any good… I bought some clippers from eBay for 19.95. Best investment in a while.

Ive been getting my haircut here for over seven years! The haircut is always great! Online check in is super handy and they are reasonably quick.

Walked in, they have spaced out chairs which was nice to see. Masks are required which is perfect. Michelle gave me a hair cut with double mvp. It was amazing! Love the hair cut and she was a total sweet heart. Definitely recommend this place. :)

Started taking my sons here. Yesterday they both got their hair cut. Looking at my youngest today since its not styled his hair In front touches his eyebrow on one side and is super short and choppy on the other. Not even kinda straight. His side burnes which he hates and always just wants cut off were uneven so had to be fixed before we even walked out.

Advertised as a place “guys can watch sports”, yet is in reality more like a great clips with tv’s. Over half the clientele are kids running around. Turn around must be paramount because I always feel like I’m rushed in/out and the stylists prefer to mow your head with clippers vs using scissors. The up sell is pushed pretty hard for a vibrating chair and hair products which I’m sure is a corporate thing and a carrot to dangle in front of the employees for more pay. The staff is always polite yet the quality of the haircut varies as some strive in the fast paced environment while others act like they can’t wait for their shift to be over. So a mixed bag of hype to get you in the door and indifference to how you want your hair cut. I give it 2 1/2 meh’s.

The following was my experience several months ago. I checked in online then arrived ten minutes ahead of my suggested time. My name was on the board, and listed as on-deck. The stylist who was listed to cut my hair was finishing up with another customer. When said stylist was ready, she took a different customer (who walked in after me), pushing me back from on-deck to up in 30 minutes. I have not been back since.

Excellent haircut! The staff was meticulous about safety.

Employees were a bunch of sweethearts and did an amazing job with my jacked up hair.

This used to be the best sport clips in town now it has gone from a 5 star to a 1 star. Not sure what happened, maybe management has changed but definitely need to address a few things.

I go here primarily for receiving haircuts for a number of reasons. One of the reasons why I always choose this place over other places is because of the fact that the staff there always does a good job.Not only are the barbers good at their job, but they also are good at cudtomer service, and in engaging the customers in conversations whenever needed or wanted.

Long wait times. Takes at least an hour for a mens cut.

Okay so I have mixed feelings about the salon. if we are talking about hecates these guys are really good but they try to sell you a lot of stuff, and usually its stuff that you might not need. I ended up buying one of their recommended shampoos for dandruff control and instead it escalated the problem. So five stars for the haircut but one stars for the product recommendations. That said, in case youre here for just a haircut theyre better than the competition.

The girl cutting hair was sick. I was waiting for my boyfriend and he said she was coughing and sneezing the whole time! We understand that people get sick, but this is not a job that its okay to be coughing every 2 minutes. We will NOT be back.

My Mother went to beauty school, so for 19 years of my life I never had to pay for a hair cut and I had become quite particular about my cuts. My folks moved three states away several years back so I had to start getting regular cuts form places like sport clips. I think I had one good hair cut in about 4 years until I found This particular shop.If you want someone who knows what they are doing and will help you get the best look then go to this Sport Clips and ask for Amanda. 10/10 Great place.

Loved my stylist and I always get them mvp. She did a fantastic job on my beard trim. I give her 5☆☆☆☆☆ but I would give it an over all a 5 star rating if the cost wasnt as step. By the time you leave a tip you at close to $50.

Husband comes here every 3 weeks for his beard. He has a favorite stylist. Prices are reasonable and waiting room is comfortable.

Just left there and did not get my haircut. Checked in online and it told me I would have a 25-minute wait which was fine. i waited for over an hour and still no haircut with the stylist I requested as she was basically hitting on the guy she was cutting the hair before me and took way too long and when she was done she spent another 20 minutes messing around on the computer and didnt even acknowledge that I was waiting in line for her to cut my hair. Dena was an absolute joke and what horrible customer service.

Always great service. It does get busy with long waits during peak times, but a quick call first will let you know what your anticipated wait will be. Ask for Taylor, she is professional and always does a great job.

I dont recommend getting a hair cut from Taylor. She was more interested in trying to sell me products then giving me a good hair cut. Had to go back and get my hair fixed. Will not let her touch my hair again.

I came in and she started with a buz and my hair got cut so she just riped it out as long with a big chunk of hair and did say sorry or anything. Next she was not paying attention when she cut my bangs and she cut 1/2 of it way to short so she just had to cut the rest of it off. Then after I told her I did use product she still put some in and tryed to sell it to me afterwords. Sometimes you get a good friendly person who does not hurt and nice but this bad experience with Stephanie (my haircuter this time) I left this review.

My husband and I both got hair cuts. I was so pleased that though they cut womens hair, they dont style it! We were both thrilled at the service we got! Go Rori!

I went to get a hair cut and I was surprised by how many people were here at that time. They were very friendly and they gave me some recommendations on what to buy. They didnt get the hair cut quite right but they still did a pretty good job with it.

The ladies here give great haircuts and are helpful when asked about styles and upkeep.

I went to the Delaware location this past Saturday and had potentially the worst customer service experience Ive ever seen. My boyfriend and I came in with about 35 minutes to spare before they closed. The haircut itself looks fine, but took nearly an hour and a half to finish and the staff was becoming increasingly agitated. I get a choppy fauxhawk with faded sides, and this has never been a problem in the past and with no shampoo or massage generally costs $16 plus tax and tip. I was charged $36 before tax and tip, consistently referred to as she despite multiple corrections that I am a male to the two women cutting my hair. I also have an eye condition and wear prescription sunglasses which I took off for the cut, so I closed my eyes to block the light and was told three times by one of the stylists that I was not allowed to sleep in the chair even though Id explained why I had my eyes closed. My boyfriend was sitting near the counter waiting and could hear the staff complaining that my cut was too difficult and they knew Id cause problems from the moment I walked in. I have never been so embarrassed and frustrated, by the time the cut was done I wanted to run out of the store. Michelle has been the stylist to help me in the past and I have NEVER had issues at this location with either cut, price, or general interactions with the staff. I will no longer be visiting this chain due to this experience.

Being a National Traveler and finding places to get my hair cut is a pain, This lady with the red hair was very unprofessional, rushed through, and treated me like I was nothing. All other people in the shop had great hair cuts and stylist actually took their time! Worst hair cut I ever had!!!

Good service but its hard to get consistency as the stylists change frequently.

I like the work and they are always friendly. Just need to save the info on the last hair cut we get.

DO NOT get Kara the stylist!! She was more concerned with dancing (Yes literally dancing) and singing then cutting my hair. I have never been more embarrassed in my life! Men in other chairs were staring and giving weird looks. Then she completely ignores what I tell her to do and cuts half of my bangs clean off when I told her to leave then the way they are! Then to fix her mistake she ends up cutting off the rest of my bangs. All the while, shes talking my ear off and talking to other stylists and customers. Then, as she is cutting my hair, she says something that I never thought I would ever hear a barber say OUTLOUD, IN PUBLIC to a customer. She told me that I have red bumps on the back of my head AND dry skin and that I should do something about it and that I am not taking proper care of my head. When she said this every single person in the chairs around me heads turned and stared at me as if they were disgusted. I have never been so embarrassed!! She was more concerned with entertaining me and other customers than to be polite and cut my hair properly. I will continue to go to sports clips in ankeny but I will NOT be getting my haircut from her. Disgusted, embarrassed, and pissed off!!

I would not recommend this place. The manager is incredibly rude. I called up to this location about 6pm because the website wasnt working, asked them if something was wrong and who ever answered the phone was also rude and told me it was just me and that other people were able to check in online. Told me since I couldnt get it to work, my best bet was to come in and check in but since they had an hour wait, if I had an errand to run I could do that. So I choose to just go in and check in both of my sons for a haircut. Someone else had called in and I overheard them on the phone telling those people that our website was down. So appartently none of the employees have any idea what each other is saying. I didnt say anything and continued to check in. I told the girl up front (she just finished checking someone out) that I was going to run next door to Me and Mommy To Be. She said ok. I was gone about 15 minutes. As soon as I walked back in the rude manager came up to me and said I took you off the list because I told you that you needed to stay in here if it was past closing. So many things are wrong with that..... (1) I never spoke to the manager, so there is no way she told me anything (2) it was only 7pm, they dont close until 8pm (3)the person I talked to on the phone told me to plan to run an errand due to the wait time. (4) her attitude! That is not customer service. I would stay far away from that place. I will never go back and dont recommend anyone to go there.
