This is only our 2nd year living in Anchorage, but this is the best apartment weve had since moving here. My cats love playing in the woods by the lake right outside my apartment where I can keep an eye on them to make sure they are safe, and where 2 friendly moose came right by bedroom window to say hello yesterday. It was cool lol. Today the maintenance manager Dan saw me collecting firewood and was kind enough to offer a couple of bundles of wood with a bunch of fire starters for free! So far the staff has been great to us and we just love our new apartment.

Pretty ironic I just drove by, and the property manager and service manager are outside having to dig one of their cars out of a 6 deep channel in ice that formed all the way across one of the parking lots because it was poorly maintained all winter. I purposefully had to avoid using our parking spot because I saw the huge ice channel and knew it would be an issue for getting cars stuck. The walking path to your car here this winter has been an insane hazard.

This location was never great, but they have all new staff and it’s even worse. I have been trying to get some basic repairs for more than 2 months now.Since COVID we went from 2 incomes to 1. My partner has just now been able to secure a new job and will get his first paycheck next week. We’ve had a few months during COVID where we are a little late paying rent, but it’s never more than a few days because I’m having to beg and borrow to come up with it.My payday is today, I’m paying rent along with borrowed funds. Yesterday we received a threat of eviction, rent being just 2 days late.I know Alaska isn’t one of the states legally guarding against heartless COVID evictions, but you would think there would at least be a bit patience knowing people are financially drowning due to this global crisis. We have massive mold in the apartment so we will be reaching out to the housing authority about leaving since the mold is worsened my partner’s asthma and they are so itchy to evict tenants. I’m a believer that every $1 spent is a vote, and even though we are just now getting to where we have our feet under us so we want to live somewhere without mold and run by people who are more ethical. The last group running this place were tolerable. Maintenance requests were usually handled the day they were made, now we don’t know when this will be fixed. There is also a massive dog poo problem. There is dog poo everywhere, they just leave it like that. When it gets icy slick outside these new guys take forever to gravel it. I’ve already had a nasty fall at my mailbox in the parking lot.If you’re looking for someplace new, keep looking.

One star for parking. What kind of place only gives you a single parking spot? Then you’re told your other vehicle(s) have to go in Visitor spots. If those are all taken, you’re S.O.L. I’ve had to park across the road at the hotel twice in the past 3 days.If you move here, try to only have one vehicle. Oh and I hope you don’t mind running toilets. Or walls shaking from the airplanes taking off. Or trains. One positive - maintenance guys are on it. They haven’t fixed our running toilets, but everything else they’ve been great.

5 stars for Mark and Sam in the Rental Office for prompt attention to issues, for the 2x double insulated glass sliders in every apartment, and for Terrace giving a $100+ monthly electric bill credit each of five winter months ($ depends on Unit size) 3 stars for the tired and well-worn condition of the apartments and buildings. 1 star for the big airplanes flying nearby (a new runway will move takeoffs and landings farther from Terrace in F2019).

Mark has been wonderful. He was patient, kind, and went out of his way to make sure our needs were met. When the initial place we looked at was no longer available, he offered an equally adequate apartment on the other side of the building with same amenities. He has a great attitude and working with him has been a very pleasant experience.

You can hear every step your neighbor takes above you, floors are very squeaky and these apartments are dated and built very cheaply.

Smells from other peoples rooms, specifically cigarettes will find their way to your room through the ventilation. At the end of six months everything was covered in a black film- the result of the room smelling like other peoples ashtrays 24/7.They charged me to re-paint the walls to remove the black film that was impossible to clean, despite me telling them that I never lit a single candle or cigarette in my room.Multiple neighbors have come to my door trying to find packages that have been stolen from their doorstep. There is also a massive $200 pet fee.

First off let me start out by saying I signed the lease site unseen. I needed to have an address before the Military would move me here. Although everyone I knew told me to stay away from a Weidner Property, I didnt listen. With my credit score and previous rental history, Andy gave my husband and I a chance. He worked with us over the phone/email while I was still in the L48. When I arrived to the apartments to move in I was greeted with a smile and a hand shake. The lease signing was quick(as he had all the paperwork ready and waiting for me). He walked through the apartment with me nota ting everything he seen/ I seen wrong with it(which wasnt much). The community itself is QUITE and CLEAN. Anytime I had something wrong with the unit the maintenance man was there within 24 hours to fix it( && did it right the 1st time). During the winter, they made sure the grounds were plowed and salt was throwing down on top of ice throughout the day. Upon moving out Andy helped me with advice on how to fill holes in me walls(mounted TVS) and gave exact detail on what was needed to move out( to get full return of deposit). The overall experience was GREAT! Perfect for the two of us. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this property

If you care about your credit do NOT sign a lease here. Ive paid every bill in full and on time my entire life. Gave my proper 30 days notice. Ended my lease as scheduled when I signed the lease and left the apartment in better condition than I got it. The complex decided to keep my deposit without telling me why and then 6 months later put a collections on my credit for $900 without any warning call or email. Ive attempted to contact the complex and the company owning Terrace on the Lake and they will not give me any info on the bill at all. This place is a scam and I dont recommend anyone live here. Ive noticed a lot of others have had this same problem. Save your money and your credit and do not sign a lease here.

As a veteran of the military, I did not have the same experience. The move out process required a very specific form that was required to be considered acceptable as a 30 day notice. Andy was always friendly, but was unwilling to accept a 30 day notice that was not written on his companys form that could not be gotten online. The management company has a policy of not returning deposits, under any circumstances. Ive spoken with a former employee of Weidner property management who quit because of a personal conflict with the companys policies. as to the walls you are told not to hang anything on the walls I didnt get my deposit back they only give military because they dont want to loose their business. I got charged for hair on the window.

This place gets a bad grade. Stayed here over 3 years. The landlord was condescending and always in your business. He was too nosy and I had to take Weidner to court in order to get my deposit back. Simply ridiculous.

Ive never had such a nosy landlord. He would harass my friends and look in our windows from another balcony. I have never in my life been treated this way. When getting my deposit back, I received 15$. Ridiculous. Going over their report there were claims of crumbs in my kitchen cabinets which I personally cleaned myself and can swear were left spotless. Same thing with the refridgerator and freezer. I was ,too, charged for hair.Im sure our apartment cleaning required no more than a vacuum down after we moved out (which they do with carpet cleaning anyways) for any extra hair that fell out when I was working my butt off cleaning the apartment and checking off everything thats required to be done. They charged me 360$ cleaning fee. HOW?! I got my full deposit from the club at eagle point (lake Otis) which is also a weidner property.I would not recommend renting from here. It is so overpriced for the quality you get.And make sure you have renters insurance. Our bathroom would flood when using our kitchen sink because of the plumbing being so terrible. OH and make sure you look at how small the water heater is and how tiny the bathtub is!SERIOUSLY reconsider your decision to rent here.

So the apartment was great at first they were super friendly and what not like the apartment was older style but i loved the fireplace. This review was based on when Andy was in charge I know he isnt anymore he retired but was all great until he came knocking on the door all the time always in everyones business really annoying like he spied on us. So I was in the army and one of my buddies was in the army with me about to get out and just need a place to crash for about a week this Andy was like hey who are you then called me I guess he was rude to my friend and then in order for him to stay he had to fill out paperwork like he was a full time resident asked for his social and everything and he wasnt comfortable giving him the social so I asked and why he needed the social said for the background check and i said well can he get an afidativ he said no if he doesnt give me his social he has to leave such a creepy rude guy. My experience there was and still is horrible so i was living there with my wife we had separated while living there so I signed everything to get off the lease and she signed it to so she was responsible because I was moving back home to mn well now she didnt pay a damages so they are saying we owe almost 600 dollars on top of our deposit that place wasnt nice at all in the first place but anyways they left my name in collections even though im off the lease this apartment is horrible worst experience of my life thought I was away from it now it piped up again
