My personal experience with 2 of the ladies on this team has been time well spent! The godly wisdom given has challenged me to look inward and be humble. They are direct, yet kind and loving. Just what I needed in rough times. I’m blessed to have their professional advice in my life! ☺️

The Acreage has been the saving grace in my life. I started recieving sessions here in 2018 during the lowest point in my life and this place and the people there helped me get through it. I have seen 3 different therapists there during the last 3yrs and every single one has been amazing. I struggled through over a decade of seeing different therapists that didnt help at all and many that made my mental health worse. That all changed the day I met Melinda, I connected with her and felt safe with her the very first session. She has helped me in more ways than I can count and I have become such a different and better person since meeting her. I still have weekly sessions with her and I can go in and be in such a dark place and by the time I leave I feel such peace within. She has changed my life. The fact that Im working with horses is such a added bonus. I was always curious about equine therapy and now participating in it I can see how helpful it can be to people who struggle with not only mental health issues but also physical health issues. I would not be where I am today without the help of this amazing place.

My wife and I were referred to this practice to help ease trauma and provide transition for our daughters reintroduction with bio dad. (after 3 years of no contact) Never in my life have I experienced such a lack of professionalism and communication. The history of our daughter and initial session, Melinda had with the perpetrators mother! Not the child, or either parent. Someone who had, and never has had, any legal or custodial rights to this minor child. Other professionals in this field have confirmed that communication to be a direct violation of our childs confidentiality. Melinda also set forth a timeline for treatment that included transition for our child. Then immediately attempted to do the EXACT opposite of what she originally said. When asked by our attorney why she took this approach, Melinda told her she needed to be getting paid! (this wasnt a real concern as bio dad was to cover this process) We understand the need for compensation. Regardless, in this field of work, your priority needs to be advocating for the child! Not getting hung up on who is paying the bill. It was clear our childs well-being was not her priority. Our attorney was disgusted and stated she will never recommend her. Fast forward 8 months and we are getting billed for a single phone conversation regarding the childs treatment plan! Yet no other communication was ever responded to. It has truly been an eye opening and sad experience.

I have always been able to believe in Okerberg & Associates. From the first day I met the people here, I knew they were going to be like family to me. People who have not only helped me but my family as well. I would recommend them to anyone who needs a little extra help.

The Acreage location is our happy place; a wholesome, calming environment that adds a beautiful dynamic to therapy sessions. Both my children and I have had cousenling sessions here and my husband and I have taken a Love and Logic group parentings class here, as well, and it has been such a blessing and changed our lives. This place is great for kids because our therapist keep it playful and casual, while at the same time following safety protocols (making sure parents were in the room and included, signing confidentiality waivers, etc.) Last therapy session my kids didnt feel like talking much so the therapist said do you want to make some slime?! and my kids loooooved it. And of course the animals are the highlight of the whole deal. Cat and horse therapy is a game changer!! My kids always beg to come here.
