Really impressed. I’ve used Ames Ford a few times for repairs on my Ford vehicle and every time they’ve communicated what the issue with my vehicle was quickly and have fairly priced their repair services. Gaining customer trust is a difficult thing to do and Ames Ford has certainly gained mine. I would highly recommend their repair services.

Super easy process. I live out of state and found a vehicle they had that I wanted. They delivered the vehicle to me the next day and it was everything it was supposed to be. I couldn’t be happier. Especially after my first online purchase with vroom went horribly wrong. This one restored my faith in buying a vehicle online.

If I could give a 0 star rating, I would. Ive had nothing but problems ever since I started the car buying process here. On the FIRST DAY it began. I got my car, and a day later it wont turn on because the battery is bad. Then they proceeded to tell me that they couldnt get anyone out to my house to recover my car. And thats just 2 (among others) of the problems Ive encountered since I got my car here. I will do everything in my power to make sure nobody I know shops for a car here.

Found a used 4x4 truck last Tuesday and enjoyed the test drive at Ames Ford. We were told it was safety inspected and had new tires, shocks and struts. We wrote the check and drove it home that night. After a bouncy bridge experience on the way home, we took it to our mechanic and he found the shocks and struts were not new and were the original equipment from 2008, and needed to be replaced. The mechanic then pointed out a much more serious safety issue with the frame. He could put his finger through the bottom of the frame where it had rotted away near the gas tank and rear tire. Looking closer at the frame in that location it was visible that the side of the frame was no longer connected to the bottom for a large distance. He recommended that I not put any heavy loads in the bed of the truck, and any safety inspection should have flagged something that visible. Not sure if I can attach pics to this review, but I have several showing what my mechanic found. Returned the truck during the 7 day return window and i was told it could take another 10 days for our money to be returned.When discussing whether the frame issue could be fixed, a manager decided there was enough metal remaining and they were not interested in repairs but we could return the truck if we werent comfortable. I would put my trust in my mechanic and not gamble with my familys safety. Imagine if I were to load the truck with firewood and have an issue on the interstate because the truck could not safely transport the advertised available cargo weight.

No hassle up front car shopping. Clearly displayed prices. First positive experience when car shopping EVER! Ask for Adam in sales whether buying a new or used car for a hard worker who is on your side. He works hard to make all parties happy, buyer & seller. Andrew in financing is a rock star and quickly/clearly explains the process. Now this next part might sound strange, but even the restrooms are designed for you the buyer!

I purchased a 2015 Ford Fiesta from them two years ago. While they were polite throughout the process, they wouldnt budge at all on the price and low-balled me on my trade-in. It was my first time buying a car from a dealer, and I wont go back there for my next car.On another note, my Fiesta hasnt had any problems since I bought it, so thats a positive. Its over 80,000 miles now. Im not sure they deserve the credit for that, though, since the car came from another Ford Dealership.

The best!!!! Jessica Drendel - Service Advisor- is a life saver! My son and I were visiting Iowa State for new student orientation and our Escape broke down in the parking lot as we were finishing up the day to travel back home to Illinois. We called her at the service center for service and a referral for a towing company (also fabulous!) . It was late in the day, she verified they had the parts needed to fix the problem. She prioritized our service the next day and we were on the road home by noon! They also provided a loaner to drive to the local hotel. We couldnt have been happier especially after such a long day!

I appreciate the help I received from Brian in the service dept. I have a warranty plan with an outside source. Had a wheel bearing problem. They were able to fix one, the other bearing was on back order. We we’re going a trip, Brian assured me the Explorer would be ok, they would call when part came in. In the mean time my heated seat went out. Brian got everything squared away with my warranty company. Big Kudos to Brian. Definitely 5 star.

Beyond disappointed in this dealership. Did a KBB cash offer for my car, got contacted by David, who was nice. I said I wanted to sell it and get something new, so I filled out a credit app and waited to hear from someone in finance. A few days passed by, and David followed up and I told him what I was waiting on, so he had Nate contact me on Saturday. I called Nate back on Monday but he was out of the office. Tuesday at 730am I spoke to him and told him what I wanted to do, he said he would get working on it. By late afternoon I had not heard anything so I followed up, and he said he would get back to me by end of the day. That was Tuesday… it Is Friday. Not a single word. Not a follow up. Not a “hey I got busy” or a “I am still working on this”. Just complete ignoring. Is this dealership THAT busy that they can afford to just ignore customers like they are of no value at all? I doubt it. We drove through the dealership lot, just to check it out while up in Ames, and it was not busy at all.. I think the most disappointing thing is that there is a car I wanted, that I wanted to walk out of there with and would have done what was needed to have it, but to this dealership, I did not matter. Which is fine. After several days of no contact, and zero follow through, I went to another dealership, who was able to help me on the spot and put me in a new car, as well as get my partner in a $57K truck, and they are currently working on financing my son. So I may not look like much on paper, but I carried a lot of money behind me from people who wanted to get new cars. Sorry we weren’t worth your time Nate! Or anyone else at the Ames dealership for that matter.
