Having a furnace and air conditioner installed I expect competent professional service - C&K certainly provided that. Additionally Marty and Trevor showed a very conscientious interest in everything getting done right - from their communication, to how they act in our home, to ensuring that the system was correctly installed. That is the special sauce that indicates a company you can be trust to do good business.

We were scheduled for an AC tuneup, and the day before our AC stopped running. When Juan got here he did an excellent job addressing the situation, did the tuneup as normal, and got the issue solved. The fix was surprisingly cheaper than I had expected, which is always great. And to add, he worked in the rain to get the job done.

The Technician (David) was prompt and diagnosed the complicated issue with my furnace. Unfortunately, the part needed to be ordered which meant a few more days before the furnace could be fixed. And of course on one of the coldest days of the year. But he made some calls and tracked down the part in stock 30 miles away. The people that work here are super nice. I really like their efficiency and honest work. They don’t try to manipulate you into expensive things that aren’t necessary. They want you to save money! They lay out all your options and go with whatever you decide. They’ve even left us with a standing window unit until they can install our new unit in a few days. My toddler loved chatting with them and watching what they were doing and they were nice to my dog! 10/10 recommend their services.

Ive been using these guys ever since they called me up and told me the previous owner of my house had signed up for a maintenance program, and they still owed me a service based off of what he had paid. Every single time Ive had them come the workers have been polite, professional, extremely knowledgable, and really just top of the line people. The person that answers the phone is always the same person, and remembers information from when you called earlier, which is a really, really nice touch. This company knows what theyre doing, and theyve earned my business for as long as I live in the Ames area.

Our older water heater bit the dust overnight. I called C&K this morning, a live person picked up(!), and they were able to send Dan over right away. Dan at C&K was fantastic! We have a water heater being used as a boiler for our radiant floor, and had some trouble with it last year. It was fixed, but by a guy that didnt have a clue how the system worked. Dan diagnosed the problem on his semi-annual maintenance trip, installed a new thermostat, bleed the system for air bubbles, and got the heater running better than ever. Never used C&K before, but will from now on!

Technician was friendly, prompt, knowledgeable, and checked out my ac thoroughly. Was very courteous, took off his shoes and respected my home, and wore a face mask the whole time during the check. Deception, lies, and name calling.I have addressed the issues with C&K directly prior to writing this review, however, I feel this needs to known more widely. Its important to also note that my issues are with one person at C&K not the entire company. Since he is a member of the Sales team he represents the company and his actions reflect the reputation of C&K.Details:Sales was quick with my quote but reluctant to follow up in a timely manner. I needed to make a couple of adjustments to keep the project within my budget which seemed to frustrate the Sales rep.The real problems started the day the install was scheduled. The Sales rep called me to let me know that they didnt have the parts and it would be 7-10 days to get the gas line. On day 10 I called the Sales rep he didnt know where it was and continued to blame the wholesaler Johnstone for the delay. I called back a couple of days later and he let me know the parts were in and the install would be the next day. We were three weeks delayed overall but the day of the actual install the Sales rep showed his true colors.The quote he brought me showed an additional $201 for bonding the existing gas line which was not included on the quote they came to work off of. Also, I caught him telling the HVAC guys(via camera) ...this guys been a real pain in the a**...calling every day...This prompted me to call the C&K office to discuss and I shared the video with them. They sent out the Install Manager who told me that the bonding charge of $201 was not necessary, there has not been a delay or shortage of gas line, and that the Sales rep actions will be addressed.I will be honest, trying to steal from your customers and calling them names should result in something more than a stern conversation.

Professional and fast. They traveled outside of their service area to come fix my AC unit. (Edit). Once again they went above and beyond. Came back out (still outside of their typical service area) and got my AC unit fixed. Very polite and friendly techs. Still 5 stars in my book.

This was a planned AC check. The technician was very friendly and courteous. Performed his work efficiently. I had the inspection report within minutes of him finishing. I also like that they text a photo of the technician the day they are coming out so you know who to look for.

We needed extensive plumbing and HVAC work performed in our elderly mothers house, including a new HVAC, water heater, and toilet. They do both kinds of work, which was really helpful in our case. My AC stopped blowing cold air during the evening hours. After doing all the troubleshooting I could on my own I decided I was going to have to call a pro in the morning. After looking at reviews online I decided I was going to call C and K in the morning. I’m glad I did. I called right at 8:00 am and was told a technician would be out by 9am. At 8:45am I received a phone call from Jack letting me know he was on his way over. I also received a text message with this ETA and a link to track where he was in route to my house.When Jack got to my house he asked what trouble shooting I did to help eliminate the easy stuff. He checked down by my furnace and went outside to make a diagnosis. Jack was very quick, efficient and answered the few questions I had. Once he found the problem he explained what was going on and the options I had. He was in and out under 40 minutes and everything is working great!Thanks Jack and C and K

I called C&K explaining symptoms of our non working Central Air Conditioner. They promptly sent Jack to our home the next day. I asked him to come in our house without me being present. Shortly thereafter he called me with a diagnosis. He then repaired and explained the problem. The part was even covered by warranty. Jack was very friendly and informative. It was 50 degrees in my house when I got home a little after 9pm on the evening of Dec. 23rd. I waited an hour & 20 minutes for someone to call me back only to tell me they wouldnt be able to take care of it until the morning & then told me they dont work on mobile homes.

I just wanted to pass on how impressed I am with C&K for this entire project. I had both my furnace and A/C replaced. From the original service call with Scott he didnt feed me a line of BS and try to get me to pump money into a machine that was beyond saving. (35 y/o furnace) He simply gave me matter of fact options and suggested replacement. The estimate was quick, easy and straight forward. The communication was great too, I never felt like I was out of the loop. Kim and the young fella (sorry dont remember his name) were great during the instal. They did a great job and went above and beyond in answering my many questions. The install is really clean from an aesthetics standpoint, which Im sure is not something that they hear on a regular basis, but I appreciate it more than they know. All in all, I could not be happier and C&K has a customer for life.
