I understand if you work long days and cant get out to fix something when its late at night, but it doesnt make sense to advertise that its a 24/7 service if the phone isnt even able to be answered until the 6th or 7th phone call only to hear that whoever was going to come fix it had fallen asleep immediately after being requested to come fix our air conditioning. It isnt exceptionally hot so I wasnt even frustrated until both my apartment complex and this company let me think for two hours that I needed to stay awake so that I could let this guy into our apartment to fix our air conditioning. I didnt feel angry until the man on the other side of the phone said yeah, its not hot enough for me to come out there tonight Im not coming like it was ridiculous for me to even call the 24/7 Service number. Additionally, while it might not feel very hot and its certainly manageable, I pay enough money where I live which pays for the air conditioning to not feel uncomfortable just sitting in my bed trying to relax, also I have animals that are extremely sensitive to such a major change in temperature. I didnt feel angry until it was made to seem like a ridiculous request to begin with. Had I been told from the start that I wouldnt be able to get it fixed until the morning, I would have gone ahead and waited for morning.

The guys were outstanding. We had our soft duct work converted over to hard duct work . I got a quick appointment after the initial bid. They showed up on time and were very professional. They got to work completed in one day and did a phenomenal job of cleaning up after themselves. I would highly recommend Ames Heating and Cooling.

We have enjoyed service from Ames Heating and Cooling for over ten years. They have been quick to respond to our needs especially recently when we lost AC on the hottest day of the year. In less than 24 hours we had a heroic attempt by the tech to fix the system, bids for new ones, and a contract signed to install a new system. The installation went flawlessly and we are navigating a hot Iowa summer very well with our new AC. We recently had a new furnace and AC installed. Very efficient and thorough. Old furnace removed and new one operating in one day. Installers were very efficient and cleaned up well after job was finished. Weve had this business service our former furnace/AC for more than 30 years. They also assembled and provided all the paperwork needed as we apply for utility rebates. We highly recommend Ames Heating and Cooling.

Very responsive, very knowledgable, competitive price. We had no air conditioning in 90+ degree weather and they were able to get us a new unit in a few days. We also felt like they were able to give us truthful information when selecting the new unit.

The install on my furnace was above and beyond. They not only did an excellent install, but they cleaned up the area of my current furnace place. They were excellent with the install and allowed me to ask questions on the system and thermostat and were very well educated. Overall, very satisfied working with Brian on the entire sale and putting it all together.

We have been customers of Ames Heating and Cooling for twenty-eight years. When we bought our house, the furnace was not in good shape. We bought a new Lenox furnace from Ames Heating and Cooling. A few years later we added an air conditioner from them also. During all that time we had them due fall and spring checks to keep everything in perfect shape. The service people were always polite and kept us informed on everything. This winter we started to have problems with the furnace. It finally gave out after twenty-eight years.We decided to replace the whole system with a new Lenox one, air conditioner too. We were shown all the options and prices available.They had very competitive prices. There was no pressure and they answered all questions. When we decided on a system, they went over payment options and set the installation in two days. It took all day to installed and we couldnt be happier. The new furnace is so much quieter than the old one and it does a great job.I would recommend Ames Heating and Cooling to anyone in the market for a new system or repairs to an existing one.

I trust and appreciate Ames Heating and Cooling. In August our AC died and we called two companies for quotes, one being Ames Heating and Cooling. Their quote to do the same work was nearly $1,000 less than the other local company and they were honest about how long it would take to get the geothermal parts. They stayed in touch while we waited for parts and then were able to get the parts a week early. I trusted our technician and appreciated their honesty and fair pricing. I will use them again and highly recommend to others.

Competent and Friendly Folks

I used their service a while back, but had quotes from them and another Ames company for putting in a new furnace. The difference? About $400 LESS, and this company was going to put it in CORRECTLY! They were awesome. Id also used them a few years before the furnace replacement and they were good then as well. Its nice to have a great hvac company locally! As far as the putting it in correctly it has to do with putting an air intake in for the newer high efficiency furnaces. They need that pipe. So the other company estimate was $400 bucks MORE for LESS service, BUT the other company could do it immediately and I had to wait maybe a week for Ames heating and cooling. It was worth the weeks wait, both money wise AND doing it the right way!

The individual technicians are okay. However, the management and sale person do an act of bait and switch. Things may look nice at the beginning and on the surface, but wait until they go wrong, not to mention higher service costs in short few years plus other hidden financial traps.

Serviced air conditioner- did a good job on that.Had a time sensitive issue that required furnace inspection. They were not timely on getting me the invoice and when I did get the invoice it turned out they had not completed the inspection.

The service has always been good and friendly. Making appointments is not so easy because the responder is dismissive and unhelpful. We were particularly disturbed when, after 17 years of business, we asked her to pass comment on our equipment to a prospective buyer of the property. We were told that we would first have to schedule an appointment for an inspection before this could be done. During the 17 years we never experienced friendly word from her. Poor woman must be overworked.

Jeremy is a wonderful Christian man who can be trusted and does a proffesional job at more than reasonable rates. My mother os 94 and I work in Social Services so I do not make much money. I am also asthmatic. Last summer on one of the hottest days our sir cinditioner went out, we were given Jeremys name. I called and he was here within the hour after normal working hours.Last night we had an emergency repair needed. I called him and he was able to come over early this afternoon even though it is Sunday. He fixed the issue and wad very kind in the amount owed.I would and do recommend this company to any/all individuals/families with HVAC needs. He has also come to the rescue of my son in his new home. We are thankful to know him!
