Ace barber shop is top shelf! Gabe is a fantastic barber that really cares about his craft and goes above and beyond with every cut. The vibe is perfect for the downtown area with a wall of constantly changing local art, vinyl records setting the mood, and a collection of Albu-quirky collectibles. You will always have something interesting to look at while getting your hair cut.Most barber shops in the downtown area have a menacing and almost confrontational atmosphere with bad vibes all around. Ace always has a positive, up, and friendly mood in the air.Good vibes. Cool atmosphere. Great cut and barber! You won’t go wrong with an ace cut.

Ace Barber Shop is the best Ive visited in ABQ. Gabe gave me an awesome fade, was super friendly, vibe of the shop was great, place was super clean and they followed COVID guidelines perfectly. They gained a customer for life!

Looked up google reviews, saw nothing but greatness so I took one of my boys here on the fly.So we called, spoke to Gabe who was supes nice, so we strolled in and WOW!!Both dudes were busy cutting but were welcoming, had great tunes and lots of cool stuff to look at in the meantime. Then another guy who seemed to be the owner came in with clean laundry and I believe a new item for the cool shelf.Anyway, it reminds me of when we were out in New York or Miami in this little whole in the wall spot, with great vibes and great cutters.Boy got a great cut and as a chick, I definitely recommend you guys goin here.Price is on point for the service and chill atmosphere here.Definitely a dude spot, and Im pretty happy to have witnessed it lolAlso, had to leave a review right away cause this is the first spot Ive been to that has Juxtapoz on hand. And as yal know, I am everywhere, so kudos to these dudes.

Aside from giving you a quality haircut at a quality price, Gabe (the owner) is legitimately one of the nicest people Ive met in Albuquerque. Hes a friendly outgoing guy who definitely makes you are satisfied before you leave the shop. All around great shop!

The crew at ABS are great! the place has a very cool vibe, the vinyls played on the turn table and the art hanging on the wall will surly elevate your mood from a long day. And the cuts will boost your confidence when you walk out. This is just a super cool place with quality haircuts. And the fact that its in the city, in downtown Albuquerque, just makes it that much cooler! I would say that the people that complain about the wait, just arent taking the time to enjoy the music and the atmosphere.

This is hands down the single best barbershop in Albuquerque. Gabe really REALLY takes care of you. Hes the owner and head barber and hell make absolutely sure you get a cut and experience thatll make you smile. All of his other barbers are very talented and you neednt worry about getting a mediocre cut. The shop itself is RAD and is a real piece of Albuquerque. If you come here, treat them well and tip better. I consider them my friends after being a customer for years now. I promise youll finally find *your* barber.

I went in there having no idea what I wanted. All I knew is I wanted my hair to look better and for something to be done about my big beard. They brought me in a suggested a bunch of things and even told me other stores where I can go get them. My hair and beard look better than I hoped for and the people were extremely friendly the whole time.

This is the best barber shop Ive ever been to. The haircuts here are so well executed and the guys are so friendly and really know how to explain your style to you so you know what to ask for next time. The vibe is cool with local art and they even sell some great products. Carlos is my guy there.

***UPDATE***The owner was very accommodating when I walked into his busy shop; he sent me to Carlo right away. Carlo did an outstanding job cutting my hair. I definitely plan on returning again and recommend ACE #APLUSI do not mind paying $20.00 for a cut; charging me an extra $5.00 for a quick wash without mentioning the cost was suspect. Most places in Albuquerque do not charge for a quick wash. Fortunately, the barber begrudgingly gave me $5.00 off after showing him my student ID.

Really like the downtown location. The art inside is awesome. Great energy and great barbers really friendly. Got my haircut from Ruben he did a great job. Would recommend this place to anyone. Only thing the cuts arent cheap $20 for a fade. But worth it

Ace Barber Shop is THE spot for a cut in downtown ABQ. The music is chill, and the rotating artwork always gives you something new to check out. Connor has been hooking me up with super sharp haircuts and was awesome with my 2yo last weekend. Definitely recommend checking them out.

Loved it! Walked in right as they opened they had me sheared and shaved in about twenty minutes. Even gave me a good recommendation for lunch as this was my first time in Albuquerque. Very relaxed and friendly atmosphere.Hope I need a haircut the next time Im in town!! If not, Ill get one, anyway. 👍🏻

Connor is great. Had my hair cut and my 4 year olds. I know kids are harder and he was great with him. Fantastic price point. Highly recommend and will be back regularly.

Ive been coming here for about 5 years or so now and am always impressed. The atmosphere is modern, but relaxing, the barbers are personable and attentive, and the prices are the best in the city. Gabe runs a great shop in downtown Albuquerque. After reading some of the reviews I just felt like I had to set the record straight and give everyone a perspective from a long-time customer. I would, however, recommend an appointment, as it can get fairly busy at times (especially on Saturdays). All in all, come to Ace if you want an awesome cut for a great price not too far from just about anywhere in town.

My first time here was the best experience Ive ever had at a barber shop. Antonio took his time, gave an extremely sharp haircut, and was incredibly skilled with a straight razor. I feel like a million bucks, thanks dudes. Ill be back.

These folks do good work. The shop has been around for about 10 years, and is super friendly and has a great vibe. Basic haircut will cost you twenty bucks, and pretty much all of the stylists are on point. You can call ahead for appointments, or you can walk-in terms of ttiming just plan on having an extra 20 to 30 minutes if you do the walk-in. They also display local art and have openings once a month, in combination with the First Friday Art Crawl.

Gabe made me wait more than 15 minutes for my 11:00am appointment. Maybe because he was already BAKED? You can manage to get a decent cut from him if you micromanage him and speak very slowly, but since thats just one step away from cutting your own hair I suggest you go elsewhere. I know I will.BTW when customers and clients are all yelling at each other it means the music is too loud.

Alcario rocks... excellent skills detail oriented. Gives great cut also probably because he’s not a bad listener. Laid back, friendly and I wasn’t interviewed, has art of easy conversation. The owner too genuinely welcoming and high spirited. My first visit on impulse yesterday. Too bad for me, Ace on 4th street right south off Central too far out of the way...

My husband went in to Ace this morning after getting a HORRIBLE haircut at Supercuts. He asked the barber to fix it and after a short conversation about what he wanted and what it was supposed to look like, she got to work. She was meticulous, careful, and did a fantastic job! When she was done, the cut was wonderful. It turned out incredibly well and we were very impressed with the work she did! We started out with quite possibly the worst haircut hes ever had, and it turned into one of the best. We will definitely be coming back!

After moving back to Albuquerque from Seattle I had a hard time finding a good barber shop like the ones I was used too. This place is just what I was looking for. A great cut, shave the neck, and good conversation.

These guys always give great haircuts and the atmosphere is great. Im only giving 3 stars because some of the guys who work there spend too much time on their phone. My combined wait time and haircut time could probably be cut by 30 minutes if he spent less time on his phone and 100% of the time on cutting hair.

I will never go to another barber in Albuquerque! I have been coming here for months and each time I go I am floored by the exceptionally kind and talented staff, the exceptional atmosphere in the shop and their exceptional taste in music.

Worst experience I ever had .. Terrible haircut .. Ive gotten allot of mest up hair cuts .. Alcarios at Ace barber shop was by far one of the worse ... If you do come .. I suggest asking for Josh. Someone who knows what they are doing.

The barber that cut my hair cut my neck and didn’t do what I asked for so I don’t think I’ll be going back given how I have a deep cut on my neck and my ear also my hair is nothing I had asked for I would suggest going to a different barbershop even though ace used to be the place I would live to go to but now I don’t see myself going back there I’ll be finding s new barbershop
