The coordination and execution of the various funeral services and components was faultless and carried out with utmost professionalism and understanding. Top notch funeral home who put our needs first. I would like to thank McVeigh Funeral Home for support with the funeral services of Edwina. Edwina passed away in downstate NY. Although they were willing to perform the necessary services they put me in touch with a downstate funeral home that was closer to our location. This significantly reduced our overall costs associated with travel. As I and my immediate family reside in the Capital District I would only use McVeigh for our funeral needs. When my dear sister died, the only funeral home that was even considered was McVeighs. Our past experience proved this decision the correct one. Kristin & Dave could not have been kinder. Kristin took great pains to be sure Dorothy was dressed as she herself would have wished. Her hair and nails were perfectly done. Tiny things that are really important to a grieving family. Dave took into account every suggested detail and helped me make important decisions. He even made suggestions that we never would have thought of thus making the funeral one that included all family members. McVeigh is one of the most caring and compassionate funerals homes. They recently helped us at the March of Dimes secure a product for families who sadly lose a child at birth to be placed at a local hospital. Their caring and concern was so obvious. I was beyond touched by their generosity and their willingness to help the community.

My mom passed away on January 1, 2019 and had her funeral prearranged with McVeighs in Albany. I just want to share a few thoughts on my experience with this group of professionals. Brian from the funeral home came to St Peters Hospice to pick my mom up on New Year’s Day within an hour as promised - he was dressed in a full suit tie and a top coat - our families first real encounter with McVeighs which quickly demonstrated their complete respect for our family and most importantly, for my mom. Each interaction in the coming days with preparations, wake, funeral and burial were done with our wishes in mind first. While I know my mom and her husband had many choices with funeral directors, they chose McVeighs for their pre arrangements because of their long standing tradition of respect, genuine care, and heartfelt concern for families dealing with loss.
