After my bike accident I called two days in a row and they didn’t give any information about my bike or tell me about any fees that stack up daily. When I showed up they Wouldn’t let me look at my property before I payed 350$ and after had to pay another 375 to take it home for “Lot Fees”! This place is a complete scam and they do not care about you or your things. I will never use or buy anything from this owner ever

I was quoted a reasonable price for some maintenance. Midas gave me an almost double estimate.

Came to pick my friend up because her car was there totaled. She had to grab her medication and brothers ashes from her car. When she walked to her car, the owner proceeded to lock the gate behind her and would not let her out, because he considered that as trespassing and burglary. The cops showed up and said he does this often. Don’t go to this place unless you like getting locked in cages in 90 degree heat.

They were very helpful and the service was great. I would recommend them to everyone. Its about time I found an honest business!!!

My car was towed because I did not acknowledge a recent no parking sign that was put in place for a moving truck. I usually work overnights, so, unfortunately, I was never made aware of this sign. While they were beginning to hook up my car, I begged them to allow me to move it and informed them I did not see the sign and the car was parked there before sign placement. Their response was, No. The chains are already on. These people have no sympathy for the Albany community. Their towing service is such a scheme that only hurts the public. It is no surprise they are known for their terrible customer service; they are always on the defense due to their human indecency.

On my way onto 787 .. the truck driver cutting people off, tailgating, and turning his emergency lights on and off. Not very professional and is going to cause an accident!!

Good and bad experience but the bad over power all because it the natural attitude of a person when their nerve is touched even on a small scale. My son went there to get the plates one week then I went the following to get a letter to fax to dmv but then had to go back the following week for a more detailed letter to get my license back but then I was told by the owner he did all he would do and hes not writing another one. Mind you they sold the vehicle got money and still he (owner) implied that I didnt pay for towing and he cant write a receipt for picking up my car. It was like he wanted me to pay for the tow to get a the details thats needed in the letter, even after selling my car, if I wanted the properly written letter. Smh

Horrible drivers, corruption with the city of Albany. Charging gate fees for the city of Albany when other tow places in Albany don’t charge a gate fee. If you get into an accident request some other tow place besides this one... you’ll be glad you did.

Dott’s is a quality garage for service and towing. People have rated this business low on personal experiences that judges Dott’s incorrectly.when they should look in the mirror to realize that they are the ones that should rate themselves ZERO stars. This garage always provides expert and professional service. Be sure to be nice to the princess behind the counter too. What a SWEETHEART!

They took me in right away and did a good job fixing my check engine light (bad coil). They only charged me for half hour which no other garage would have done that (in my experience the do 1 hour minimums)...which tells me their honest. And they are really nice which is rare for garages.

Dotts attempted to illegally tow my vehicle from private property. When I informed them that I had a right to park there, they told me to move my car. Told them to take a hike before I call the police, but they refused to leave the private property. They claimed someone had called to complain, but they were incorrect in who they identified as being the caller. They were supposed to tow an illegally parked car from an adjacent lot which they never did. I called to complain only. The manager was rude. I will be filing a police complaint.

Ive had nothing but awesome experience with Dotts garage. I can pull up in am if I need an inspection they will do it right away. They are always respectful and the service people are very helpful! Theyve been taking care of all our cars for over 20years now and I would highly recommend them. While waiting you can go next door and grab a coffee and some sweets. My #1 mechanic in the capital district.

3000 cash an brake light is on. Battery is in wrong. Damaged my fender. Lost bolts on wheel. My tires were not serviced right. 500 doller tire gos flat. Payed for inspection an No sticker. Bolts in my radiator not in a the all way. Motor is loud an. Exhaust job not correct. He returns my truck to my house like this. Its very poor service an miss treated me does not retirn calls. The funny thing is I told Joe. Ill pay your price but I need good workmanship. What a shame. Sad. Ill take to the Ford dealer. An. Send him the bill.

Horrible experience!! Poor customer service, lack automotive knowledge, and poor property condition. They are overpriced and facility is below standards in every way. Avoid unless your car Is on fire in front of their facility and even then I’d just cut your losses and let the car burn.

These people should have their towing capacity revoked. They are towing vehicles out of the Trinity Church parking lot when the meter goes down.

Very sad to see poor businesses like this one in the capital of New York. These people write their own reviews and tell their buddies to write fake 5 star reviews. It is a terrible place to go to and they tried to scam me. When I received my car, one of the belts seemed to be making a strange squeaky noise (never has occurred before), and the front bumper was hanging out (also was not like that previous). If I could give these guys 0 stars, I would. Poor business skills and even worse service for vehicles.

Very rude. I called after hours to pick my car up after being towed while at work all day. Yes I parked in the wrong spot. But when I called the after hours number the guy gave me an attitude. Which I would understand if they didnt charge an extra $75 to come open the gate. So I got an attitude for something they are getting paid extra to do. If you dont like what you do because you have after hour work then change you job choice. Also very expensive$350 for a tow that was 10 miles.

My 19 Year old daughter broke down a long way from home, I asked Dotts to take care of here and be compassionate and they did. She said the driver (Tyler) was very nice. thank you guys for taking care of my daughter.

Too expensive with the towing and they charged me $150 cleaning fee but the drive didnt clean up. He just brush the accident debries to the side.

The tow driver drove off with our possessions and then Dotts hold them hostage until they where assured payment by my insurance company . Its bad enough getting into an accident, but then you have to deal with people treating you like dirt. Dotts has been living off the corruption the City of Albany for years.

While I was at Dotts garage getting my vehicle repaired a gentle man entered the office and said you towed my f......n car and I want it back now . The man at the counter responded to him what kind of car is it ? And why did it get towed ? The gentleman replied he got pulled over by the Albany police department and received a dwi and insisted he was towed wrongly and was not going to pay for his vehicle . It saddens me to see such behavior and fowel treatment towards the tow company that was only doing there’re job for the police department . It’s disgusting what the employees go through from people that are in the wrong !!!

This is the worse place ever. Went to get personal items after my vehicle was towed there as called by albany p.d. Very rude and wouldnt allow me to access my things without paying towing and storage. Not my fault not paying for it. Asked them to take 4 pics of the vehicle for me. Took one horrible picture and almost forgot to give me my phone backAfter insurance verified they would be handling it called to arrange pick up of things, was told they close at 3pm on a friday and my wife could not go in and pick up the things.....Oh what if you tried to come later and get some things but someone else picked them up already..Really dude, I am still injured and calling to state my wife will be grabbing our personal belongings. Very rude driver. Didnt even talk to us or acknowledge we were there. And they charged $125 for less than a mile tow. Then they tried to hit us with a $75 clean up fee. The dirtbag driver didnt clean up #%^*!! Avoid this place like the AIDS virus.

During a snow emergency in Albany, I parked in front of a strip of local businesses to get a haircut, and then quick bite to eat. During dinner the waitress made everyone aware that cars were being towed out front. I immediately ran out and met the individual from Dotts doing the towing. He offered me a bribe of $25 to not tow the car, but insisted I had to have the cash on me at that moment. I negotiated with him that I would be back in under 1 minute. After running to the door and back with the $25, in about 30 seconds, the driver was pulling away with my car in tow. My personal opinion as a resident of the city, tax payer, and someone supporting the local businesses within the city, is that Dotts is not concerned with the community it serves. They are a business concerned with making a maximum profit and hire employees with poor ethics to make that happen.

My car was towed here after an accident, not by my request. I asked them if my shop could pick up my vehicle, and they said I needed to sign a release. I showed up on a Friday at 4:30pm to sign so called release and with an open sign in the window, the doors were locked and the owner coincidentally wouldnt be in town until Monday. Therefor holding my car hostage through the weekend to charge my insurance company more money for keeping it there. After I was finally able to contact someone and get my things from my car, I noticed my $250 rubber mats missing. I dont know if someone climbed over the barbed wire and with iron man strength ripped through the lock, but my mats are gone. Ive never dealt with such an unprofessional company before but please avoid at all costs. Although it was out of my control I wish my car was towed somewhere else.

My car was towed to this garage, after I was in an accident... To me my car looked like it had suffered minimal damage because of only minimal scrapes to the bumper and the fog light had fallen out... However my Insurance totaled it. When I went to get my things from my car, I asked if they could tell me what damage had been done by the accident and the guy there told me that I can tell just by looking. So my car was totaled because my fog light fell out? They were also very rude to my husband when he returned he my car key to the girl at the desk.And my snow brush just happened to go missing out of my car while it was there

Rudest people i have ever met in my life. They also love to rob you by not telling you that you can get your car released to you even when their shop is CLOSED. They should be more clear about how to get your car released even when the shop is not open. Because the shop was closed all weekend i was not able to take my daily medication. I asked if they can get me my medication from my car and i will be back wth the money later. They told me that i can get my meds when i get them their money. I was also not able to get into my house for 4 days because my set was on my car keys. I asked if they can just remove my house key from the set so i can go back and get the money for them they said NO and that i had to figure out another way to solve MY PROBLEM. I didnt ask them for any special favors just for my house key so i can pay them and my medication for my illness and they responded in the rudest most inconsiderate way. My friends own towing companys and i have never witnessed anyone recieve the experience i have received at dotts garage. Suny pd will be getting my complaint because they should not have this towing company involved with the university. With all the complaints and reviews i have heard/read i dont understand how this place is still in buisness.

Damaged my car during tow and then after ignoring me for nearly a half hour a guy came out, asked what I needed, said ok and started texting right in front of me. I gave a disgruntled sigh and he proceeded to scream and curse at me. Owner is the rudest man I have ever met. No one should give their business to this establishment.

While visiting friends in Albany, my car was towed due to a snow emergency, for which there were no signs on the entire block informing me I couldnt park there. The driver I dealt with from Dotts, an older white man with a mustache, was at best brusque and at worst outright threatening. His whole conduct was that of a lowlife thug.Do not give this business a single dime under any circumstance.

These bastards charged me almost 2K to get my jeep back on the road and now Im at the dealership having them redo their work because they didnt do their work thoroughly enough.
