Excellent service, quality of steak was good and prepared to your liking.Also had the mixed grill platter which was amazing. Garlic naan was a hit!Id skip the lamb chops, only item tje group did not like.The desserts are tasty, Id recommend the strawberry lemonade...not on the menuSuper clean facility. Lots of room inside and tons of parking.

Lovely place for Wedding and Reception

We were looking to possibly have our wedding at Shalimar in August 2021, soon after my sisters wedding in the same banquet hall. We sat down with Zara and she agreed that we could hold the date with a $1000 cash deposit that would be refundable if we did not like the experience at my sisters wedding. Needless to say, my sisters experience there was terrible (missing decorations that had been promised, poor service, banquet not ready at the time promised). We requested to cancel my wedding and requested the deposit refund as agreed and written in the contract. They kept promising that they would send it, and never sent anything back. We are currently filing a legal complaint to get the deposit back. Avoid Shalimar as you would avoid the plague! If you do decide to go to this banquet, dont pay the deposit cash - pay it by credit card so you can file a claim with your company when you inevitably have problems with them!

One of the nicest banquet halls in Illinois hands down. Sparkling clean and very elegantly laid out. Beautiful for any occasion. I am here to attend a wedding party and amazed as to how beautiful this place is. When you pulled into the parking lot it’s not a pretty sight. At night not enough lights and the pavement need to be resurfaced that was the first impression and that was lasting one. They have beautiful long prayer rugs and large space in the corner of the lobby for guests to pray and I was very happy for that reason.

I feel bad writing this in a review but i believe whoever reads this just make sure this doesnt happen to them. It was the most awaited day in my life as me and my husband was excited to plan our reception in Shalimar after doing our nikah keeping it lowkey due to COVID restrictions. After having a detailed conversation with the management of shalimar we agreed to do the event from 8pm-1am as we were expecting our guest to show up late, they agreed upon that. While there was ladies event going on- couple of men just rushed and started taking off everything from the stage even the groom/bride chair without even asking and even was very rude and disrespectful to the ladies who were stopping them and told us that the management did not informed them that the event is till 1am instead of 12pm. My husband being groom was running here and there and guess what there was no one in the management and we had to finish our event then and there knowing that we paid full amount on time and after complaining next morning the managers were like well the event is done and i am sorry about the inconvenience. Like really dude just SORRY will bring back that night again. Very disappointed with the management.

Highly Recommended!!! Recent complaints about the food being bad and smelly are all false and posted because of bitterness. People decide to rent banquet halls and exceed invitations and expect the staff to cater to them and provide free chairs and tables. I have done numerous parties here and the staff, food, and arrangements have always been excellent.

This review is based on, Event I attended in June 2021.Lot, of people in my family got sickBiryani, was not up to the standard, definitely was not a Hyderabadi Biryani.Dessert was not good, needs improvement.

Our experience with Shalimar was horrible. My cousin got married and him, along with many other guests, including my 2 year old daughter got the stomach flu. Not only that, the food ran out after only half the people had gotten it. I have never experienced such terrible service from a banquet hall before.

I am very thankful to Azhar Bhai organizing my Daughter wedding so nicely about 600 people attended and food was excellent Biryani, chicken 65 and Rogan Gosht very tasty and sweets Trifle Pudding and Dudh Dulari everyone love it. One more item Mirch ka Salan everything is ready on time I will recommend everyone for any event go to shalimar Banquets and talk to Azhar Bhai he will take of it.no worries He know what he is doing again thank you Azhar Bhai

Banquet is very beautiful and clean but the marble floor in bathroom is good but little dangerous especially for women bathroom. Food was very delicious.

I was at my cousins reception dinner last week and they ran out of food pretty quick. The second batch of food smelled really bad and the people that ate it got sick. it was a bad experience overall.

Venue for my sons wedding yesterday.Every thing was perfect. No complaints. Thanks to Mr.Azhar and Ms Zaar to take care of so much detail and make sure everything goes well. Guest cant stop talking about the beautiful stage decorations,spacious hall, delicious and plenty of warm food and wonderful service. I totally recommend this place for your special event.

Avoid these unprofessional people at all costs. The workers STOLE the food when we were leaving. We paid for this food and the workers came back and took our trays when nobody was around. We are civilized and did not argue and came home. I will never recommend this place to anyone.

I recently hosted an event a Shalimar banquets. I was very satisfied with the way it went. The banquet was Beautiful and clean. The staff was very cooperative and friendly. They kept me stress free throughout the process and made sure everyone was happy. The one thing i really liked was that this banquet was good for events any size. Overall i rate my experience a 5/5 and couldn’t have been happier.

Shalimar Banquet is a HUGE beautiful banquet. I love the chandeliers, the high ceilings, and how spacious it is. Their style is very elegant and beautiful. The parking lot is also very big.Zara is so kind and understanding. Booking with her was great! She is the best and will give you the best.

I have been to Shalimar many times and their services are unmatched. The staff at Shalimar are constantly working hard to give you the best experience, especially their managers. Beautiful venue that was a wonderful location for my brother’s wedding. We have used Shalimar in the past and would definitely hold more events here in the future. Mr. Faheem, the owner, is very nice and also great to deal with.

Ever since Shalimar Banquets has opened, it has been our first option for throwing parties ranging from small events, all the way up to big wedding events. This banquet is one of the most grand and royal halls in the Chicago Land area. The second you walk in through the main doors, you feel like royalty. The vibe you feel inside Shalimar gives you a grand feeling that no other banquet in town offers. The owner, managers and the entire staff are extremely professional and helpful. I have been recommending Shalimar to all my family and friends and will continue to do so.

Very glitzy. Too many functions at the same time. Crowded entrance when all weddings are at the same time. There is some construction front of the building facing North Avenue which is going on for the last 2 years. It looks tacky. Parking lot lines are not marked and there is debris all over.

This place was a disgrace, the food here was okay, like for instance,the chicken was so dry and soggy,it probably came out of the freezer, and the chickpeas wasn’t even cooked,the water was just tap water and the coke was the worst ever,like it wasn’t even fizzy, the walls were dirty and looked plain and the place did not look fancy at all,I got the ruby room and it was like a Metra, I just wish that they made all of the banquets first class and amazing, or just burn this place down

Crews were accommodating and attentive4. The chef was experienced and correctly modified the recipes as we have requested. Our guests loved the foods5. The stage decorations were as promisedNegatives1. They need electronic documentation process. All service contracts and menu were either handwritten or verbal. This caused confusion.2. Lack of professionalism by Ms. Zar. One example; she first told us that the rental of a specific type of Palki would be $150, and the money would go to an abused women shelter. However, on the day of the event, she insisted that I write the check for $300. Then an hour before the event start time, she got a different Palki delivered. She kept making excuses on why the specific Palki we selected could not be provided. When I expressed some unsatisfaction, she finally went out and got the Palki. I hope she gives that $300 check to the shelter3. Another example, although Ms. Zar told us that she would offer us the complimentary valet parking free of charge, but she then was trying to charge me for it.Our experience would have been a 5 star if I did not have to experience the above negatives.Watch out when you deal with them and do not entirely place your trust on them.

The shalimar management and staff are thieves. I know its a big word to use for anyone, but we had a terrible experience with them. my sister-in-law got married last month here, and although the food, decorations and arrangement was great, someone (Im sure from the staff) stole the envelopes from the gift boxes by the time we bid farewell to the the newly married couple and returned to gather our stuff. We have confirmed from the grooms side as well as close family and friends who were present at the time of rukhsati that the gift envelopes were not picked up by anyone. We had been in touch with the management as soon as we confirmed with relatives but no one has been of any help so far!! They just keep averting our calls saying they will check the main CCTV footage and get back to us but have never returned our calls!! This is extremely unprofessional and it hurts when we think of all the people who gave their blessings to the couple in the form of gifts. it was somebodys hard earned money and MEANT for the couple as a blessing!!

They can improve the seating by changing the chairs for 3-4 hour long programs, extremely uncomfortable and small chairs. Overall good place to attend conferences or for wedding.
