Wanted to reserve a 4x8 trailer but they were all booked by people taking their kids back to school. Annie the manager went out of her way to call other locations and try to find one for me. I eventually decided to just reserve the 6 x 12 trailer, but was impressed with the level of assistance. I felt was an excellent customer service experience.

Had an issue with the online reservation and Anny at the front desk helped rectify the situation. When I dropped of the vehicle I was approached by Brendan who helped with the process of turning back the truck and made sure my experience had been a positive one. From the first contact to the last it was a pleasure.

Took extra 45 minutes to check out as the price they quoted me on the phone had a 40$ difference and they misplaced the truck I was supposed to use between multiple other vehicles. This delay meant that when I dropped off the other location had been closed for 15 minutes. The gps at the dropoff location didnt even work.

Kiddos to Anny M.!!! Awesome employee.Like every U-Haul Ive been to, the location goes from dead to super busy in 10 seconds and proper staffing is understandably difficult to manage. On my two visits here, not only was it crazy busy all of a sudden, there was literally a difficult customer and a schizophrenic who kept the equipment for an extra week without telling anyone, and was badgering everybody in the store about his life of being under surveillance by foreigners and the FBI. It was a scene from The Twilight Zone!Anny was very professional, courteous and friendly, both behind the counter and and handling the equipment I rented (hooking up a trailer). She kept her cool and just took care of everything, seemingly alone, as there were no other employees working in the office area.I had a most pleasant experience talking to Anny. I hope U-Haul recognizes and rewards this kind of work-ethic and general demeanor. Of not, Anny is a great candidate I would love to mentor toward a career with opportunity.

This uhual facility was great, i was even a bit surprised at how advanced the company has become. I haven’t rented in over 10 years probably. I used the mobile app to get the truck and it was smooth. They did forget to include a dolly and matts that i paid for. I looked past this and it wasn’t that big of a deal. The return however i was not happy with. Milrent(Cortlandt Manor, NY). Uhual is affiliated with them so this is why it’s a reflection of them. I was in a rush and didn’t feel like stopping by to fill up. I arrived to Milrent(uhual location) and told the lady i don’t mind paying the 4.05$ price in my contract for them to fill it up. She then advised me that it’s an additional 30$ for them to go and fill it up PLUS 4.05$ per gallon. WHAT?! That’s beyond redic. I personally believe they are too lazy to put gas in. I was inconvenienced and had to go back out and put gas in the truck.

I had the same experience with the General Manager (Laryssa Vitti) that some others have had, apparently. I needed a hitch installed on my car, and the parts took about three weeks to come in. I live in the Bronx and would also have trouble getting out of work for several hours, so I couldnt drop off my car. When the parts arrived, my wife emailed the store and the manager said it was no problem to make an appointment for us to come at 3 pm when her mechanic was coming in and wait with the car. When I got there, the manager told me that there were several other people in front of me so it would be awhile, this was a drop-off location only, and I had to drop off the car and that it would be ready by seven (also, theres no waiting area in the store, so she advised me to just check out White Plains for up to four hours).I was confused (and unable to stay gone til 7) and thought there had been some miscommunication. If this was a drop-off only location, why would she have told me I could come at a specific time and wait with the car? I pulled up the emails she had sent to my wife, where the manager had told us that we could sit with the car and that somebody would start working on it at 3. I am generally a very calm and polite person, to people in customer service no less than anyone else, but after I showed her the emails, the manager said if I was going to berate her about it, then she would no longer be doing business with me. Mind you, this was not at the end of a conversation that gradually got hearted. We had literally spoken for less than a minute, and I hadnt raised my voice and even acted exasperated. I just confused and hoping for some clarification. Fastest 0-100 Ive ever seen from a person. Nothing I said after that mattered. She refused to have any kind of reasonable conversation and just kept telling me to leave, before threatening to call the police eventually just walking out of the room. This was by far the worst Ive ever been treated by a stranger in my life. The whole encounter was bizarre and extremely rude. I find it incredible that such a person works in customer service.So I was stuck trying to move 1,000 miles in two weeks, without time now to wait to ship the parts to another location and have them installed. I just decided to go with another company that treats customers like human beings, and the difference has been wonderful. This not my first terrible experience with Uhaul. Any money saved by using them is not worth their almost total disregard for their customers.

The poor reviews of this site are accurate, so if possible please avoid this location and support a different site. Im still waiting for a return call and quite ironically after being on hold 17+ minutes (seperate calls) the line drops. Will expand on my experience, but be warned this is a shady operation.

Rude general manager. When I asked about an option to parking the truck, she gave me an attitude. She also offered no options when I asked her about renting over several days, instead just a short snippy answer.Definitely not customer friendly.

There was a irate woman who was a customer when I walked in, and the atmosphere was quite tense. Alex handled it very professionally. Additionally, there were many computer issues that would have prevented the purchase of several items, but he was able to work around them with a great attitude. I would recommend this store to others, but would suggest that Uhaul give their employees better tools, such as a scanner for their merchandise. Regards, Rob M

Rent elsewhere if you can. I have been a customer here for years but last experience was not good. On Friday May 22, the truck was filthy in the interior. I was prepared with rubber gloves to drive it home and then cleaned it myself at home before loading up. Should be standard now that interiors are disinfected after each rental. Also they do admit people in the rental area without masks so be prepared with your own mask. Area manager was not very helpful after I complained about these points after I returned the truck.

Van looked dirty. We ordered a dolly asked the rep she said it was in the truck and it was not. Isnt there a Pandemic called Covid-19? Well at this location they are not stopping the spread of this virus. The rep did not enforce mask wearing rules. Clients were walking into the store not wearing their mask and I was left to ask the clients to wear their mask which was extremely uncomfortable. I dont think this store is safe.

I have been renting trucks from Uhaul for few years now under my name and othe family members names. Today I had the worst experience with customer service at the UHAUL location in White Plains NY. The General Manager Laryssa Vitti refused to rent me the truck just because I asked her how come you dont have the truck that I reserved and checked in online one day prior to picking it up. I told her I am going to call customer service to ask why is she refusing service, she goes to her office and calls the police on me. While the police were there another customer came by and told us that she called the police on his friend also.Very unhappy!

I just had a hitch installed and U-Haul did a great job. Called around for quotes and b/c of COVID 19, this particular hitch I wanted was out of stock everywhere, but U-Haul was able to get it quickly and at the best price. Laryssa, the general manager was terrific. Due to work logistics, I had to drop off my car during after hours the night before my appt. Laryssa worked with me to accommodate my schedule and constantly gave me updates of the progress, from confirming receiving of my car to installation progress.Pete (Pedro) the installer did a fantastic installation. The hitch instructions suggested the installer to cut a big gaping hole in the underbody panel to accommodate the hitch, which will look pretty unsightly. Instead, Pete did a customized panel trim just big enough to expose the hitch while keeping the rest of the underbody exposure neat and professional.I would highly recommend this U-Haul location for your next hitch installation.

I used them yesterday and today. Very pleased with this place. Clean trucks. Nice storage space. Easy access. Helpful workers. Centrally located. Decent prices. It would be great if rooms had lights. It can be one stop shopping. They have boxes, tape, etc. The hours are longer than most places. This place is operated well. Check out the website or call to questions. It is not top of the line, but it is good. Enjoy.

If there was a way to give zero stars I would. Very unorganized and not trustworthy. I was erroneously overcharged for mileage and told by Justin, the GM that I would be refunded. After several phone and in person conversations I realized that I was getting the run around. I made a call to the corporate office who made a dispute and told the GM would contact me. No one contacted me from this location, no follow up! I would not recommend! Poor customer service from the staff and manager.Stay away!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will never ever even consider renting from them again. they are completely unorganized. Friday the 15th of May 2020. I ordered a trailer to be picked up at 5 PM in white Plains which they said was available online and by phone. sometime midday they switched my reservation top a different location with out telling me. I didnt find out until I was pilling in the parking lot of where my reservation was. And that was only because the new location called me to see where I was. It took an hour to get it straight. And I did the pre check in online as they suggested to avoid this. and to avoid being inside the office due to the pandemic. Then while returning the trailer sundry the 17th, the Guy who did my return encouraged me to just leave the trailer. and that he would email me the receipt and the deposit would be refunded. Never got it. three phone calls later I finally got the email and we will see about the refund. way to stressful and way to much energy to just do a simple rental.

Used to be good.Trucks not organized anymore.Charged me for a hand truck that I did not use .I called and was told they will take that charge off never did.No one cares. They do not adjust you miles before you leave the premises even if you tell them, then when you come back they give you an attitude about it and say why it wasnt adjusted before you leave.Guess what talk to your coworker that did not want to do it..No teamwork amongst themBeen coming here about 6 yrs.

I rented a U-box and got a confirmation email. I went to load up the box and it wasn’t available. The guy at the counter had no idea and had to look up my order number to find out that it got switched to the Port Chester location. There was no email or phone call letting me know there was a change. The guy was barely helpful and short with answers. He just gave me the manager’s card and told me to call her tomorrow to sort it out. Not happy with this location. Gonna look for other options for my move.

I frequently use this location to rent a pickup, van, or similar when I need to move things around locally (such as buying something large from the hardware store, or buying/selling furniture or lawn equipment). Its great. Rentals are just a few dollars, and the location interacts well with the uhaul app.The pickups and dropoffs are quick, and so far Ive never had any shenanigans about unreported damage that you sometimes hear from other rental companies.I always decline all the extras, such as insurance and trip protection, so the price is great. However, Ive used the moving help in the past and had a good experience.

Nicole and Oliver were absolutely amazing, they went up and beyond to make it happen for me... solve problems meanwhile the manager Donna put restrictions and limit to solve anything!! On the contrary, Donna made it worst, and she also had a bad attitude! Terrible person! Regardless her situation, I am a customer!!Id really appreciate Nicole and Olivers help! They are nice and friendly people, know how to treat people, very professional! They should be promoted without a doubt!

This uhaul location does not apply it self to customers need. They will treat you however they want. And when you do your return, make sure they finalize your bill right there with you presente, otherwise they will keep your bill open until next morning and charge you an extra $ 21.00 convinience fee. Lacking customer service. Staff is impolite. False advertising with the $19.95 a day, considering you will not spend less than $180 a day. Trucks are beat up with multiple warning lights on. Could hire a moving company for the same price and not have to lug everything yourself.

They pretty much saved my neck during a intense transition, held my reserves for as long as i needed, re-negotiated arrangements whenever necessary, were patient in helping me understand all of our arrangements with them, gave me great prices and have been very personable and courteous in managing my storage for the last 2 and a half years...i couldnt ask for more......really cant believe i lucked-out like this.

Ive moved a few times around the area over the years, and always go to this location. Donna & her crew are good people who treat everyone fairly, despite the pressure they have when Ive witnessed the occasional impatient customer who walks in with unrealistic demands. Theyre patient and competent - very important things in this type of job. If you have a few choices, I suggest going to 1 Virginia Road in White Plains.

Make sure that you dont have an expectation for a specific location when you reserve. (I know, sounds crazy that you would actually want to know where youre picking up the truck at the time you make your reservation! ) When you reserve, the location you indicate is simply a preferred location and is not guaranteed. I now have to go 40 miles out of my way because my preferred location, for which I received a confirmation for, magically became unavailable, even after I just spoke to someone from this white plains location not even 2 hours ago! Uhaul a suggestion: Dont take reservations or confirm a reservation unless you know for a fact the location is guaranteed! Saying that a location is preferred not guaranteed is a shady way of doing business!!!

Zero stars. I never in my life needed to do business with U-Haul. First time I needed to get a trailer hitch installed on my car. After I made the appointment online, i saw that it was NOT for the day I requested, not even close. I called immediately to cancel the order, was put on hold for 20+ minutes, transferred, put on hold again. Finally someone told me they cancelled the order, but when I checked my bank account I saw that they CHARGED ME ANYWAY $100+ FOR ABSOLUTELY NO SERVICE. I had to call again, put on hold for 20+ minutes, transferred, put on hold again....STILL HAVENT GOTTEN MY $ BACK.

This was the absolute worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. The two women at the front desk were horrible. Not only did they yell at us & hang up the phone on us, they overcharged us for “pads” that we didn’t use. We ran about 20 minutes late getting our 20 foot truck that we booked online and I received a phone call from Nicole asking where we were... I told her on the way. We get there and they tell us that the 20 foot truck was never returned and we’d have to wait for a 17 foot truck; you’re telling me you didn’t know this when you called me and rushed me there? Why wasn’t I told then? We waited 2 hours for the 17 foot truck, still got charged for a 20 foot truck and got no discount for the extra miles we had to use because they didn’t have the truck we needed. We had to make 3 trips and didn’t end until midnight. Not only did they yell at us, they hung up the phone and said “I’m not talking to you anymore” after asking for an explanation of charges. WORST CUSTOMER SEVICE EVER. As a manager, I would never have these two “women” working for me. Good thing for upper management and customer relations, we WILL be getting our charges corrected and hopefully discounted. White plains uhaul you should be ASHAMED of yourselves. Go work in a dark place where there are no people!!!!

Horrible- i did online registration to reserve a car transporter- everything checked out and planned to pick up the transporter, even an add popped up to tell me my pickup is confirmed and offered a $50 guarantee if the trailer wasnt available at the agreed time and placewell guess what i later find out that this location does not even have auto transports and they made me drive into the Bronx to pick the trailer up- when i asked about the $50 they said oh well the confirmation is not a agreement or guarantee and too bad, good luck, drive to the Bronx- the employees are well versed with this misleading scam-And with no recourse it is a bad experience and bad business practice- if the computer allows you to schedule a pickup and even says theres a guarantee it should honor the pickup- if North white plains does not have trailers than it shouldnt offer them- GRRRRRRR

I had the best experience every at Uhaul on 1 Virginia Road, in White Plains, NY. Donna is the best. She go beyond the call of duty. Her desire is the customer is serviced without a lot of wait time, and their needs are meet. She is a great asset to the Uhaul brand. They should use her in a commercial. Whenever I need to lease a Uhaul vehicle, I always come to 1 Virigina road. It does not matter, my starting or ending point, Ill rather pay the extra mileage to know Im going to get my vehicle. Thank you Donna. Keep up the good work, people are depending on you.

UHaulThis is a very uncomfotable enviroment with a the little woman behind counter yelling and talking down to employees and disrespecting customers. She acts as if she owns the business and has the right to disrespect anyone breathing in her area. So, so wrong with her actions. We saw the large African Amarican Male outside assisting customers and she bluntly yelled him and spoke to him as literally like a servant or slave. Always Accommodating and friendly......Offered me incredible flexibility on my reservation.....Nice large space for this area (1/3 the price).......clean. Choice of insurance and 24 hour access for a little more or less $. Saved me from what would have been a nightmare, otherwise.

A lot of my friends have used UHaul in virginia road on white plains and have encountered a woman named Donna. She is an absolute witch when it comes to customer service, she is rude, hungover and yells at her customers. I am not the only person to say this, I wanted to rent a cargo van to help my BF move some stuff, The worker said that her manager, Donna said that because my bf was black listed Me as a friend/family couldn’t rent a Uhaul (even tho my track record with them is clean). In no way was that a rule, Donna was trying to make it more difficult for us to get his stuff out. so i said bet. I drive down the street and walk into a UHaul and what do I hear? Someone complaining about how hostile and rude this woman goes. With out even batting an eye i say, are you speaking about Donna? He tells me that he was trying to get a refund and Donna called the cops on him because it was 3 min after hours and she told him to leave and he didn’t leave fast enough.So the funny thing here, is that not only does this woman have some sort of superiority complex because she is the manager at uhaul, BUT i’m not even the only one who sees it. Many of my friend have complained about Donnas disgusting behavior. I have seen her scream at my friends, and make fun of customers behind their backs. She is a grouchy old lady that shouldn’t never be near any sort of job with customer service.I am angry because Donna decided to categorize me into a box saying ‘she won’t pay for her merchandise she uses” even tho my track record with uhaul is perfect. She wanted to profile me due to others actions. Because when Donna spoke to me she mentioned she was getting an attorney (LOL FOR WHAT.) and i said she should go right ahead because her turning me down for business is discriminatory and stereotypical. of course when i whisper to my BF “let’s go to the uhaul down the street” the worker calls Donna and asks if we can rent a cargo van. 😂 Donna of course says yes because she knowsthis can go south.BTW GUYS: I used to recommend this uhaul to people. I used to only go to this one because Donna was nice to us, but i watched her over the year be rude to customers while I was there, yell at my friend Joe when all he was trying to do was help. Finally Donna decided to turn on us, and treat us like she treats all her other customers that she treats like dirt.SO TO RECAP:-i had to take time out of my day to go to a different uhaul because they wouldn’t serve me at this one- donna told her workers not to sell me or anyone associated with trevor a cargo van.-i ran into a man complaining about how Donna called the cops on him.-Donna calls me morning saying she’s getting an attorney (WHY DO YOU NEED AN ATORNEY IF YOU DID NOTHIG WRONG? ) 😂😂😂😭UPDATE: I called the marketing branch and they DEFENDED Donna. Never in my life have I seen this happen. It is clear that they are excusing Donnas behavior for some motive within the company, and dont want to teach her how to be an appropriate sales person. I dont think she is even capable of it honestly.

Absolutely terrible customer service. Had a hitch installed on my car, wiring was done completely wrong and caused the blinkers on the trailer to be reversed which is extremely dangerous. Staff is completely incompetent, unhelpful and unprofessional. Avoid at all costs.
