I have a great mechanic. My wifes family has been using him for over 30 years and he primarily takes car of our car. Problem is, hes 2 hours away from where we live and we cant just zip up there all the time. Ive tried other people in Yonkers and Riverdale and I just cant find someone affordable and trustworthy.Step in Sears Auto Center of White Plains.People seem to dislike this Sears Auto Center and Im really not sure why... If you go to a dealer for a repair you are going to stand in lines, you are going to get brusque treatment, and you are going to get charged a ton. They are going to tell you that A,B,C and X,Y,Z is wrong with your car, no different from Sears.I have recently had more ac compressor replaced, had my wheels aligned, tires rotated and balanced, oil changed, and they took care of a screw lodged in the tire for me. The screw came out and the tire didnt loose air - so since they didnt have to repair any thing they didnt charge me... Very fair.The guys who work there are consistent - my family has been saving money for years by taking our cars to Sears. Always the same two guys - the Caribbean guy and George, the manager. They arent the friendliest guys but I promise you, if you were stuck in that garage the whole day, every day, six days a week, youd be cranky too.Anyways, if you dont have a small shop local mechanic, and you dont want to go to the dealer, go to Sears. Its a good happy medium. Plus you can walk around White Plains while you wait, way better than stuck at the dealer.

I had a great experience today. I thought the staff were professional, courteous and down to earth. I will go back there again and I would recommend this auto center to relatives/friends. Service performed was replacing all 4 tires, tire balance and alignment. Received a $25 Sears gift card and I filled out online $ 70 rebate claim. I also had the chance to use my shop your way rewards points towards the cost 💕.

Sears changed our tires and the next day our tire pressure light went on. We brought it back and they yelled at us saying that they never touch the sensor when changing a tire so it wasnt their fault. We didnt even blame them, all we did was ask them to look at it and they were SO defensive. Very rude & unprofessional.The pressure light turned on again the following day so they didnt fix the problem. We brought it to a local mechanic that discovered the problem without giving us such a hard time. The tires actually just needed more air than was recommended and that solved it.Sears Auto Center, relax. Take a breath and treat your customers with respect. Never again will we take our car there.

I got a flat tire yesterday and I called Sears auto center and they were able to replace my tire and do an alignment the next day; quick and professional. Abraham and Christian were extremely professional and Courteous in helping me. I hope the next sears I go to has this professional service.

The only thing good about them are the price for tires and batteries. They also honor the road hazard (I had two tires that needed heat patches). You also get free lifetime rotation and balancing if you buy all four. I have always had great luck with Diehard batteries, and the one lemon one was replaced within the warranty period. The prorated amount was still decent.Their alignment business is a scam. The brake parts they use are mostly sub par. The struts and shocks suck, too. Although they stopped using Monroe and upgraded to Gabriel.Everything is a to extract more out of you. A simple oil change with my lifetime tire balance/rotation becomes a battle.

Went in to fix a flat. Was told they will have to assess and call me to tell me if it can be fixed, else expect a call when its done. 3 hours later still no call, went to the shop and the car was ready. Simply asked if there was warranty on the fix, Mr Abraham told me to read the paper work, dont ask him because its in the paper work. Thanks for the rudeness and taking 3-4 times as long as most shops to deal with a flat. Will never get spend a dime at this place again!

The worst experience ever. PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS. They are THIEVES and LIARS. I went in for a simple oil change and they then try to charge me $2000 stating that all my brakes need changing with rotors. And that my two front struts need replacing. Heres the kicker they wanted charge me $451 per strut not including labor!!!! Please AVOID this place as they know nothing about car maintenance and very unprofessional. Also i went in with a groupon and they only changed my oil didnt even conduct multi point inspection.

Terrible placeKept me 3 weeks on hold for picking up tires and nobody called me to let me know that the tires are out of stock . I received no calls from them.Ordered different tires again Shelly Ann confirmed that it will be available in 3-4 business days and after 5 days I went to see I got no tires ..28 days waiting for my tires and ended up by giving me the refund and he ( George ) the manager was too rude to me like it is my fault .No respect to the customerswasting time and moneyThe worst experience ever in any sears Auto center

Worst place, lazy, untrustworthy, stealing and very long delay.I went to this place to get oil change after getting coupon from Groupon. There were only handful of customer at that time. Because it was in mall, my pregnant wife and I went to mall for shopping for 1 or 1.5 hours. hopping that by the time, they will finish the job.We came back and car was still on garage for work. I was wondering what type of Golden oil change these guys are conducting that it takes this long. I figured that guy was not doing anything on the car. They started working on it after we came back.Finally after 2.5 hours, oil was changed. I was so in hurry to get out. I didn’t verify the oil was changed. So 2-3 weeks goes by and I started to notice noice in car engine. I opened the hood and checked oil, it was completely black. THEY DIDN’T CHANGE THE OIL AND STOLE money and oil.in case you are wondering if I drive too much. I only have 2 mil drive both ways from work and home. Oil change usually lasts me 3 months sometimes more.I didn’t feel like worth fighting for this issue with Sears but WANT TO AWARE USERS THROUGH THIS PLATFORM OF MY EXPERIENCE. So no one else goes through same experience.Sears should do something about management at this place. Or they will have to close out more store like their other.

The staff, Jason, Anthony,and Abraham, were friendly and suoer knowleable. They advised on what tires are needed. They advicated for me on which tires are cirrect for my car. You also advised of a new leasing program. That was an awesome option. Thank you fir all 9f your help.

Desperate times. It was Easter Sunday and I had a tire that was going flat and had thread showing. Just couldnt put off a replacement anymore and Sears was open. The guy in front of me in line said he was bringing his car back because the alignment was off after having had them replace his tires.Sure enough, my tires are not properly aligned either and I hear squealing during any turn over 10 mph. I plan to pay for an alignment somewhere else rather than return here. Wish Id read the reviews first.

I came in for an oil change I purchased on Groupon. After reading some of the reviews on here I was worried. All in all, it was fine. Yes theyll try to sell you extra stuff. Yes its a longer wait than an express oil stop. But thats what to expect at these places. You just have to be straight forward.

I brought my car in for an oil change and brake evaluation because both my maintenance light and brake light were on. When I picked up my car, the brakes were completely unresponsive so I asked the lead mechanic what they did to the brakes. His response was that they didnt do anything with the brakes since they didnt have time to get to it before closing time. Which is fine because I did bring it in 3 hours before closing. But what got me upset was that they didnt seem to care that my brakes werent working and they set me on my way at the risk of my life. Finally, when driving home got to be too dangerous I pulled over and opened the hood. The guy whose house I was parked in front of came out to see if I needed help. And as soon as I described the issue he immediately diagnosed that I needed brake fluid. Turns out all the brake fluid had been drained from my car and they sent me home without any braking power. So I got a ride to a gas station to buy brake fluid. Once I had brake fluid in my car my brakes started working. Now I understand that they didnt have time to get to the brakes evaluation but they could have at least replaced the brake fluid that was drained from my car. Maybe they drained it thinking that they would have time to refill it after the brake evaluation but they ended up running out of time. Im lucky that I pulled over in front this kind samaritans house and that he knew more about brakes than the people who I paid to work on my car.My friend whose a mechanic later told me that they should have noticed that the brake light was on - since that indicates that the brake fluid was low- and they should have either pointed it out to me or just topped off my brake fluid for safety. And the mechanic who drove my car in to the waiting lot should have noticed that the brakes werent working and brought that to my attention. But they didnt seem to care... Which leaves me to wonder if the workers at Sears Auto in White Plains are even certified mechanics at all. I should have realized that they were incompetent when the customers before me were consistently receiving inconclusive diagnoses. It would have been nice if the mechanics were the least bit concerned about my safety.I will never go back there but I recommend that if you do, that you ask to see credentials before you leave your car with them.I hope this review helps.

Ive seen many negative reviews but I actually had a very good experience. I shipped my tires via Amazon. There was a little mishap but that was due to the seller shipping the wrong tire. Managaer Jason and Abraham were curtious and helpful. They even fastened a lose muffler shield at no charge. Would definitely reccrecom.

Unreasonably high prices, poor and unprofessional service, and technicians who lie about what needs to be done to your car. Do not waste your time and money in this horrible establishment!Save yourself some stress and money and go somewhere where customer service and honesty is valued!

DONT DO IT, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE !!!! I went there to have my snow tires put on, I told him they are directional tires and have big letters saying witch side they go on with orange marker, also has a big arrow imprinted in the rubber. OMG if they could not get it right. Also I asked them to make it right and he would not. Said I had to come back another day. WTH is up with that. Something very wrong with this. ..

WARNING. NEVER EVER REPLACE ANY PARTS WITH THEIR RECOMMENDATIONS BEFORE YOU SHOW IT TO ANOTHER MECHANIC OR SEE A VIDEO ON YOUTUBE FOR THE SAME PROBLEM IN YOUR CAR.I ordered 100% antifreeze online and got the email that it is ready for pick up in the merchandise pick up area. When I arrived, there was no one in the pick up area.. After few minutes a man came, I explained him what I am here for. He looked in the computer and could not find my order, then he took me to the auto center, where I waited 15 minutes, because there was someone ahead of me. Finally, Abraham find my order and he went upstairs to get my item, when he returned he brought 50/50 mix. I told him that I did not order this item. First he denied and then looked again in the computer, went back upstairs and got my correct order. The whole thing took 45 minutes. This service is not acceptable.

The Auto Service Center in White Plains is the WORST - ABSOLUTE WORST service center I have ever been in. I checked my car in at 10 and was told 2 hours for everything. As the time grew near, I went to get my car, I was told that it would be another hour and a half. When THAT time was coming to a close, I was told another 2 hours. The man who took my car in asked me a number of inappropriate / irrelevant to my car service questions. Simple tire maintenance ballooned into a bill that was almost $1,000. NEVER will I ever go to this place again. There is no way, ever, that I would recommend this place.

Horrible customer service. Website says they are open until 7pm, drive there and the signs on the door say 6pm. They would not assist me with an oil change. I had to come back the next day because I had a coupon. I will never return here though I have warranties on all my tires with them. Go somewhere else, read the comments before mine.

As I am an Uber Driver, I went there for oil change to get up to %50 discount but they could not locate my account which connected to Uber Account but my older account and they told me I had to wait 24hr after connecting Uber account to Sears account which I did not and they were already took my car to work and I could not take my car back... and I had to pay full price. When I asked to get reimbursement tomorrow when my account get updated, they told me I can’t but WHY? So they just charged me $147 for me And I don’t even know if they are gonna update my account...And question for $40 for $15 oil filter :/ it is fine.So sears system is too slow to update and don’t tell you that I have to wait 24hr after creating account when your Sears website app says in Uber app “your Uber account is now connected to Shop your way (Sears)”

Bought new tires for my Jeep this past year - chose this place because the tire prices were reasonable. First free tire rotation went fine .. Every single time I have come after that they have been trying to tell me things that are wrong with my car. For example one time they said I needed an alignment which confused me since I had just got one 3 months ago. I took the Jeep to the dealership instead to check it out and they said I did not need one. I also took the car to a trusted mechanic and he also said no alignment is needed. So Sears was just looking to make an extra $90 off me. Ive been back after that and they STILL tell me I need an alignment when I KNOW I dont .. They even went as far as telling me that I will lose my warranty if I do not get an alignment with them. I have stopped going back to them - I honestly just went to get the tires rotated but Ill do it my damn self instead of dealing with them.

Avoid at any cost, they are running scam. I went there to change my brake pads. Ive called them in advance, but they said that I need to come over so they can run some tests, before they give me any price. Took me more than half an hour to get over there and after half an hour of arguing they gave me a price for pads only $89 (some aftermarket), they refused to give me labor price, unless I would submit my car to a $15 test, which I didnt need, cause I knew what needed to be done. I can only imagine whole bunch of things they would want me to do that would bring my bill up. 1 hour and a half waisted.P.s. bought ACDelco Ceramic pads on Amazon $27 tax included and my regular mechanic installed it $40 tips included

So yea, my girl brought in her Passat to have an alignment done since we had a groupon and they told her she needed two new lower control arms. We just had new tires installed at a different shop a day before going into Sears. Figured we would save some money and get a groupon.Well the shop that installed the tires didnt mention anything about the lower control arms. After going to Sears and having them tell us they needed to be replaced, I got under the car myself and checked the control arms. There was almost no play at all where the rubber is and Ive replaced bad lower control arms before which were way, way worse and had a lot of play. The car is a 2013 so the rubber shouldnt be worn out that quick.Waiting to get a second opinion, but after reading all these reviews, we truly feel they were just trying to rip us off and didnt want to honor the $60 groupon.

Went there to pick up a car battery, got there at 10:30am did not get out till almost 12pm. There was only 3 people on line ahead of me. To top it off they charged me extra for not brining the old battery. Now I can see why Sears is closing so many stores.

Avoid at all costs! Unfriendly and extremely rude check in staff. Wait times can be 30+ min just to check in! Staff is not knowledable on cars or service required. When questioned, they get belligerent and/or aggressive, further proving their ignorance on vehicle maintenance. Cannot trust their recommendations or cannot trust if they are providing an accurate diagnostic. Save your time and go elsewhere. I literally work across the street from Sears and will inconveniently drive out of my way for service.

Horrible costumer service. I came in with a groupon for a simple oil change and the manager would not honor it. He first had issues redeeming the groupon which I had to have groupon on the phone with me in order for it to magically work. He then tried to upsell the various inclusions of the deal to me at full price, at which time I showed him that the services should be included in the groupon. He basically tried to charge me 80$ including what I paid for the groupon, for my basic oil change. I obviously did not go through with the service and I was refunded by groupon. The manager George was very rude and greedy. I own a business and when we do group in deals the process is straightforward, you offer a discounted rate for services provided and you must disclose if there are any additional fees....which it did and the extra cost was 4$ for services and labor, not 30$. I will never come here again.

Brought my VW Passat for an oil change. Ended having my breaks changed on all 4 wheels. Payed over $1K. I thought that the car was old so I needed new breaks. 3 months later the discs on the front break wore out because they were not properly installed. The thread was damaged where the oil is drained and now I need a new oil pan. Thats what I paid $1K for. Go to Mavis on Terrytown Road or to a mechanic you trust. The mechanics at Sears did not really care about the work they were doing.

Horrible Customer service, particular the assistant manager who is rude, mean and arrogant.We brought our car for battery change, however, a simple task became a huge problem when the mechanic broke the antifreeze hose. I will not recommend this place at all.

Watch out !Threads in the engine oil drainage whole were damaged and caused a leakage. I had to replace a new oil pan which cost me a fortune.
