Really cool place, nice atmosphere. Food was good, but not quite the level that I was expecting. The appetizers were the real specialty to be honest. The ahi tuna was perfect and the calamari was some of the best Id ever had. Id definitely come here again as the service was outstanding.

Visiting from Florida in July. Sat outside and basked in the beautiful mountain views. Delicious! Awesome service. Had the chicken Oscar that is awesome! Cesar salad and bread with a yummy spread...a must try. We will return if ever back in Alaska! We thank yal for the excellent experience!!

Went here to celebrate my nieces graduation. Everyone raved about their entrees. Friendly service too. I got the vegetarian curry dish, but others had Steak, King Crab, burgers, etc, all delicious.

Overlooks the inlet with picturesque Mountain views. The lighting is soft and kind on the eyes. The taxidermy throughout is fun to look at.The food was delicious and quick. I ordered the seafood mac and cheese and it was creamy, with the right amount of noodle to seafood ratio. The waitress was kind and attentive. Great, laid back place to take a load off, relax and grab some delicious food while enjoying Alaskan scenery.

First time visit to Settlers Bay. We would visit again for sure. Friendly, prompt service. Tasty bread and butter, upscale dining, and steak was perfect. Sat outside and had a nice evening with beautiful views. I would recommend that everyone in the valley visit here at least once.

Everything was amazing! Crusty sour dough bread, & the beef stew was the most flavorful broth ever! Asparagus & green beans cooked to perfection! Stuff prawns were delicious!

The Ceasars were great. Coffee service is like I havent seen since Ruths Chris. The marsala steak bites were so awesome... they should also be an entre with pasta. The Halibut En Croute was absolutely the best. They are also very gluten free friendly/knowledgeable and almost every dish can be modified.

Was not impressed by the new menu, little selection of what to eat. Couldnt even get a baked potatoe with my steak. Waitress was good. Did her job well that was the only thing I liked.

Very cool restaurant, absolutely worth the drive. The nachos were amazing, the Ceasars salad was the perfect size. I ordered the Pepper Steak, and was expecting it to be served with a blackened pepper crust, but instead it was deep fried. It was interesting, but I probably would have preferred an actual Pepper Steak.

Amazing experience. Its not often that everything is awesome from the drinks to the end of dinner. Service was top notch as well. Without a doubt the best meal out Ive had in 4 years in Alaska so far.

The Matanuska blueberry beer was so good! Tried for the first time the seafood dip and that was amazing with flavor

We live not very far from Settlersbay so we frequent the restaurant fairly often. We’ve enjoyed the food and atmosphere for years. Even after this last new owner took over we still have enjoyed the food, not so much today. The salads have always been a treat, large and great salad dressing. I swear they counted 15 small leafs of lettuce, 3 small thin slices of cucumber and 8 slivers of carrot. I commented on how small the salad was and was told they have one person making the salads now. I watched him make them. He had a measuring cup put the lettuce in and turned it over on the plate. It’s very sad. I love the stuffed prawns and usually order them but decided to switch it up a bit tonight. I ordered the chicken cordon blue. While the chicken was moist and tasty the very tiny amount of ham and non existent cheese was very sad. Not sure I’ll be heading back for a while. Real bummer!!

I recommended this place to my visiting relatives and my mom came back telling me how her crab stuffed shrimp still had the shells on to her surprise and there was a hair in the veggies which ruined everyones appetites. Other than that they said the service and atmosphere were very good.

We stopped by Settlers Bay Lodge and restaurant as part of an Lunch stopover during our journey coming from Seward, AK to Denali National Park. The place has the Restaurant on two floors and is typically used for Weddings and other events. The outside lawn is a nice place with great views. This place is used by Holland America, Princess Cruises and other tour companies as an Rest Stopover including the Buffet luncheon. The is close to Wasila, AK.

Went here a few years back after proposing to my amazing wife. The food was perfect and the king crab was large! The staff was perfect and the view was too. Been back several times since that first encounter and we will be back a thousand more. Truly amazing place out off KGB!

The Chicken Cordonbleu was excellent. The chef even accommodated my special requests. The Fettuccini Alfredo with shrimp was scrumptious. The bread and dip (double portions) were also delicious.

Told the waitress the food was cold. She states, Yeah, that happens sometimes and simple walked off. Did not see her at the table again until she brought the check.

Beautiful restaurant in a lovely setting! We were a party of seven women. The king crab legs were rich and delicious!! The French onion soup was the best Ive ever had. The creme brulee was spectacular!!! One person ordered a chicken dish which was inedible. The chicken was rubbery and tasted like it had been microwaved.The service was GREAT!!!The atmosphere was beautiful inside and out!

Ive photographed a few weddings at Settlers Bay Lodge and each time am always so impressed with the food and service. The upstairs reception room is spacious and well lit and versatile and its perfect if youre having a smaller wedding. Theres also some cute places outside for photos!

We came here for our 3rd anniversary dinner while visiting Alaska. We had a wonderful dinner of salmon and tenderloin medallions. The French Onion soup wad perfect! My only complaint was that the meal comes with either soup or salad, when I asked if I could get the French Onion I was told yes but I didnt realize they were going to charge me full price for the French Onion instead of just adding a dollar or 2 like most places to do. Had I known that I would have just gotten a salad and ordered the soup separately. Just saying it would have been nice to know up front or when I asked, not when I received the bill. Again though the food was delicious and views were great.

The view is very nice, very contemporary, food was nice, pretty good but they were quite noticeably understaffed for how busy it was.

We used to eat here all the time and always recommended it to everyone. We took our family there for Easter today and were asked to leave after 45 minutes so they could get more people in.

We have been regular customers for 7 years. We are about done. Haven’t been there for the past 12 months but have been regular “take out” customers. A majority of the take out orders have been marginal at best. Tonight we ordered a steak & fries and an order of steamed clams. The clams were un-edible. In reviewing the receipt it showed they were chorizo clams. We called the front desk and spoke to the young lady who took our order. She confirmed that she put in an order for chorizo clams. We did not make that order and didn’t even know there was such a thing. This is the third time we have had this type of experience when ordering takeout from Settlers.

They called me back and changed the reservation time. Other than that theyre great.

Our dinner was excellent! Steak was cooked to perfection.

My husband and I were fortunate enough to recently dine at Settlers Bay Lodge. Our waitress informed us that they had just received a shipment of fresh halibut! I chose the halibut and was amazed at the wonderful preparation and flavor. My husband had the filet mignon prepared especially by the chef and was delighted with both the portion and the taste. We could not have been more impressed. The food was excellent, the service was amazing and the mountain view was spectacular. We were visiting from Iowa and would strongly recommend dining at Settlers Bay Lodge. You will not regret it!

Great Strak and chicken in a cozy atmosphere. BUT!!! for as great as their main dish is, where they are seriously lacking is on their starch. The garlic mashed potatoes are quite bleh bland and the last 3 times the rice pilof was under cooked 2 times and practically mush the last time. Gotta get this right guys! Still a great place to dine.

This was a great place to have dinner! Came here with some family and we started outside, but the staff were lovely enough to move us inside when it began to rain. The food was very good as well as dessert. Our waitress accidently brought one of us the wrong beer and proceeded to bring us the correct one, let us keep the wrong one, and didnt charge us for either.

The view is amazing. Brianna was fantastic!

First time eating there food was great and that was in the summer went back order the same meal and it was different still good but different. The steak my wife had was great but it was like they forgot about it but when it came out it was out standing. The apps we had the stuff mushrooms and the walnut shrimp outstanding. Just something was different about my pasta dish wasnt as good but still it was good.

Best steaks & seafood in the Mat-Su Valley by a mile. Friendly staff & always super clean. Id recommend for the whole family!

Awesome Thanksgiving food... we loved it and got full

I had the grilled Alaska Halibut, my girlfriend had the Stuffed Shrimp and our daughter had the kids Fried Shrimp with vegetables. Excellent tasting food! The halibut stated it had cajun seasoning, but I really couldnt taste the spices, and neither could my girlfriend or our daughter (they arent fans of spicy food). The stuffed shrimp was very flavorful, but not very spicy from what I could tell. Be aware that the bread you get when you order one of the 2 soups includes what I think is horseradish spread, which is spicy to me. Tasty to me, but neither the daughter nor the girlfriend liked it. (Too spicy.) WILL be going here again!

Love the location and scenery. However, there is something lacking in the service and food. We had a reservation which took a half hour to seat us (why bother making a reservation). Food took an hour to arrive. By the time we left it had taken two hours. The lamb I had was ok. It was unanimous amongst our group that the mashed potatoes were bland. The dessert was about the same, just ok. Cant believe I wasted $60. Classic example of a veblen good. Gave it two stars for the scenery.

Stopped as part of Holland America trip to Denali. Had a build your own sandwich lunch. Multiple busses here, but line moved quickly. Bathrooms acceptable, well used. Outside or inside seating. Roadside dive with a shop and food.

We have been coming here for several years for dinner and our anniversary. I always have been very happy with the food and service. This time was our anniversary and I can say the new ownership has really disappointed us with the changes. If your going to up your prices then you don’t make the portions smaller? And my halibut used to be excellent this time there was no crab topping? It was BURNT very dry and thin as can be, ate it with difficulty!!!!! The salad was all stems and bitter the dressing had no favor. Hardly any veggies and mashed potatoes??? The waiter was great and he felt so bad about my halibut that he gave us free cheesecake. It would be nice to know that you charge 7$ for a beer Plus 2$ more for the 21oz????? Which is crazy. Also every extra on your Steak? Or etc is plus $2???? And your not told about this lol we didn’t even get the steak topping. So sorry to say we will not be coming back again.

Great service, great food, great view. My favourite here is the cajun alfredo!

Slow service, with no attention to detail. Attempted to bring the wrong food. Steak was mostly fat and drenched in salt and pepper, however the king crab was sweet and juicy. The burger was over cooked and the cheese over melted but the caramelized onions and blue cheese made it enjoyable. The fillet mignon was amazing. The shrimp scampi was good as well, but didnt stand out from many others in the valley. The asparagus tempura was outstanding and came in a large pile with a smoky, spicy dipping sauce. The Hawaiian poke was beautifully prepared and wonderful with a sesame flavor and matched well with the crisp of the cabbage and cucumbers. The fried mozzarella was served in wedges and were just the right amount firm and gooey with a flavorful crispy fried breading. The red sangria had a balance of sweet fruit and tart red wine flavors with a delightful fizz. All in all an average night due to the service. Enjoyable enough but not for the price and limited atmosphere. The greater at the door, an adorable dog mellow and loving of a quick pat or scratch behind the ears.
