Get a tour and a trial pass - this gym is large, always has space, lap swim, and a splash pa for kids. They also have childcare while you work out for a really decent price. The girls working there are very sweet. Not necessarily the white, bright gym but it’s not as expensive as the Villasport in Beaverton!

We have loved Cascade Athletic Club. It is a family-owned business. They take great care of their facility and the staff is always so nice and friendly. They have invested so much money into their kiddie outdoor pool area, updating their pool water filtration system, and updating their men’s and women’s locker rooms. The trainers are awesome! We have worked with Kristi Wright and she’s just a great person and great trainer. During this last government mandated shut down they have closed everything except the swimming pool and the jacuzzi is by appt only. I’m grateful for their dedication to the health of their customers.

This gym is everything you could want in a workout experience. It has a totally different kind of vibe than every other gym I have been a member to and there’s no going back! There *feels* like a lot of respect for health versus desperation to lose weight. My husband and I attend tribe together (group training) and absolutely love the experience. We also really love the instructor, Lisa. She is fun, helpful, positive and really makes the experience a pleasant one instead of something I dread. I also do one on one training with Rachel, which is a totally different and beautiful experience. Rachel is very knowledgeable and supportive. She respects my limitations and encourages me and all the right ways. If you’re looking for a new gym, I highly recommend coming to this one. You won’t regret it.

My husband and I have been lifting for 15 plus years and currently belong to 2 other gyms. (Ones that were open during covid). We got a 3 day guest pass because we are looking for a new home gym with a working sauna. The first day we were here (sunday), we werent greeted or offered a tour or anything. We walked in and were told to fill out a form and leave it on the counter when we are done. I asked the front desk guy where certain things were and he stood behind the desk and pointed to the left said locker room is that way. Super weird first experience. Then, as my husband and I were walking around blindly trying to give ourselves a tour to find things, we were approached by a friendly staff member who introduced himself and showed us where the T bar row was. He was super friendly and welcoming. On that first day after lifting, we asked how to sign up for a membership. The membership manager (although nice) spent about 90 seconds with us all together explaining how membership work and that was it. My husband said ok so can we sign a form now or...? We were told to think about it because she had someone to give a tour to who was waiting...Fast forward to the next day. Horrible experience. Club was filthy, people on the weight floor were extremely rude...a lady literally thru my bag across the gym floor and said its a community gym. You already did your 2 sets. After that, a few other negative things happened and since my husband is in law enforcement, he had to leave the gym half way thru his workout Im order to avoid a physical conflict (not on his end)with 2 random strangers who were terrible to him as well. Then, today we came back. I walked in to check in and the front desk guy said huh your not in the computer. Who did you speak to? I let him know that nobody spoke to us. A lady just gave me a form and said leave it on the counter. My husband walked in and was also given the third degree. Fast forward once again to my workout today...I had 3 more instances with other members and it was bad enough that a stranger who was doing cardio upstairs came down just to tell my husband and I that he has witnessed a few things that have happened and that he was extremely sorry and that he wished the staff did something about these issues because he said they happen quite often.I also got my head bit off by a girl who was wearing a gray shirt that says coach on it..I grabbed an ab ball and she snapped and said this is a training area for my clients and her body language was pretty intense. I apologized and said Im so sorry, we never got a tour so Im just trying to figure out what I can and cant do. She just walked away without saying anything. After that, my husband came up to me and said ok lets just go. This is a very toxic environment Heres the thing thats difficult for me...I love the pool area and sauna. Thats hard to let go. If they had a pool area membership, I would most likely sign up. Ive never had these kind of interactions before which is deeply concerning. If it were just a small handful of cranky members, thats one thing. Club cant really control that. But when new people come in willing to spend whatever money to join on the spot and we cant even talk to a staff member about joining or anything, thats a separate issue in itself.Like I said, the gym has great potential if they cleaned it up and perhaps trained their staff more. However, if you want a guest pass, bring a Buddy incase you need a witness for something.Side note...I inquired about memberships online but was never contacted. I had to call a total of 4 times to be told to just come on in.

It’s an ok gym but be careful what your getting yourself into. It’s very complicated to end membership and they don’t send invoices letting you know when they are charging your card. I signed up and prepaid a year in advance and planned on ending my membership after my months were up. However, because of COVID I had some extra months added and didn’t think much of it since I still have til at least the end of the year. They expect you to remember an annual fee after a year and a half goes by since signing documents. All I wish this gym did is at least send invoices to let you know a bill is coming. But I guess how else do gyms make there money than have hidden charges and fees!Good luck but try saving your money and go somewhere else.

Called the club on 9/4/19 to find out about their freebie pass, as my partner was scheduled for a surgery that may not allow him to ever swim again, and he wanted to do it one more time. I spoke with Ben, who was very attentive and understanding. When I came in the next day, he hooked me up with 2 passes for me and my partner to have assess to everything, including the outside water park which was not typically included in the free trial. Ben said that the passes were valid for a week if we chose to come back, and at that time, we would simply pay 10$ a head to use the pools again. He also mentioned that the passes glitch out sometimes, so if we came back in a week at they were expired in the system, they would just make us new ones and wed still pay the guest fee.We had a wonderful time, both in the outside pool, and the indoor facilities, where we spent most of our day going back and forth between the jacuzzi and the heated pool in the back. My partner enjoyed this surprise so much, that he asked to come back one more time before the surgery, and so we came back on 9/12/19, a week later. Earlier that morning, I e-mailed Ben, saying that I couldnt seem to find our pass cards, and he replied to me that it was no problem, either our guest receipt would be enough to use the facilities, or they would just make us new ones for the day - same information he relayed to me a week earlier. However, when we got there, and I explained this to the girl at the service desk, giving her Bens name and telling her what he has communicated to me, she sighed, took my name, looked in the system, said the passes were indeed expired, but that if we wanted to come in again, it would have to be with a member only. I told her this is not at all what her colleague has promised us, which I had in writing, and she said shed go ask someone else, another young man who didnt even have the courtesy to come over or look at us, he had his back turned to us the whole time. That exchange took all of 15 seconds, and she returned quickly to reiterate that we could no longer use the facilities unless one of us bought a membership. This whole situation was embarrassing, uncomfortable, and borderline demeaning, as we had to turn around and walk right back out. I e-mailed Ben immediately, telling him we were turned away and why, hoping that maybe an apology was in order, that someone would make this right, but nothing came of it. No reply. Im leaving 2 stars for the actual swimming facilities of the club, because they were great, as well as the initial compassionate attitude shown by Ben to our unique situation, otherwise Id give it zero stars if I could. You robbed my partner of a now once in a lifetime experience because you couldnt be bothered to figure out why one of your workers promised us one thing and that regardless of whether or not it was protocol, it should have been honored on the spot, because we were ready to pay for the day, and its basic customer service.

I have had gym memberships in almost every gym in the Vancouver area in the past 8 Years. Currently I go to this location, and although the facility is fairly large, a lot of the equipment is very dated.I strongly believe that the Cable Cross Machine is basically the most versatile and important piece of equipment for any gym to have. Although they do have one, it is the oldest and worst one Ive ever seen and used. The cable cross only adjusts vertically, NOT horizontally, and the right side cable is very faulty where it does not maneuver smoothly, but instead is jolty and is difficult to work with. Also with any other gym that Ive gone to, there is a designated spot to stretch and do exercises on the floor. Sometimes its a room, other times its a large section located somewhere off to the side. Although they do have a section for that, it is usually occupied by some sort of class, therefore restricted to the members for regular use. Leaving us a couple floor mats on the side against the wall to work with.Overall the facility is fairly large, there are a few good things about it, but if you value quality equipment and space for your workouts, it just might not be worth that substantial monthly membership fee.

There are perks to this gym, but there are also a large amount of things I dislike. Ive been to college gyms, bodybuilding gyms, and this one was by far my least favorite. The gym being packed is understandable, especially if you go after 4pm, but on top of that my dislikes are..1) Too many teens and children in the weightlifting area. Many dont even know what theyre doing and/or talk with their friends the whole time which limits the open machines (especially when its already packed)2) Weights are not organized AT ALL. No one puts their weights back, very few people clean machines of sweat, overall its a chore to clean up after people when they get off a machine. The weight trees are never organized.. simply a nightmare3) Staffing. Management is good but general staff dont seem to care when people abuse or miss-use weights and equipment. Turn around rate seems pretty high so that could be part of it, but there should be some more attention to general gym organization instead of having 2 or 3 people at the front desk at all times.4) Pricing. You dont really have any other options in this area other than 24 hour and theyre equally ridiculous. Seems as though they know members dont have other options and take advantage

Their swim instructors are amazing, in that they’re interactive and my daughter learned so much and is now, I consider to be an excellent swimmer. There are so many gyms that don’t support family and I think it’s sad. I’m very thankful that children are embraced at this gym since I have a child and want her always with me. It is a family style gym for sure.I do notice the website and staff can be difficult to get information from at times. Basically I really had to study to get clarification on a few things. Also it would be great to have another leg press machine, it’s a popular one.Mel is amazing, love her as an instructor, she’s real and motivating, which is exactly what I need from a personal trainer. Great gym, really family oriented. They have a lot of amenities and really friendly staff. Love the balconies with the treadmills, olipticals and more. Took my first class the other day and the instructor was upbeat and really helpful. She made you feel like you werent being a bother if you didnt know some of the moves or couldnt keep up. A few members were encouraging when they saw me standing at the class door unsure if I was ready. They just smiled and said come join us and I didnt feel judged because of my weight or clumsiness. The price for your membership reflects all the uses you have available to you, like the indoor pool, sana, steam room, hot tub, basket ball courts, clean equipment, clean locker rooms, the rock climbing wall and the many many many classes. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 is because I feel like with the single membership price, you should be allowed to take a guest in a few times a month maybe for free without paying for them and without using your points. Also I want to do more with the rock wall but the instructors are only there between a limited window in the evening... and for someone who works long hours into the evening, Id like to see them offer classes in the morning maybe once or twice because Im not sure how to start learning without taking a day off just to take one of the classes.

I hestitated to come in for over a year because I thought pricing would be beyond my budget, specially with them having the only pools in town. Surprisingly pricing is competitive and they do month to month membership without trying to charge you double for it. Nicole helped sign me up and she was really nice. The pools are saline which I think is much healthier for the body, I cant take a chlorine pool every other day, the smell gets to me. I seem to detect a very slight amount of chlorine in the pool (maybe something else) but its by far much less then a typical pool.

With gyms theres no one-size-fits all. Certain gyms cater to certain populations and you have to find the one that fits you. For a family with small children, CAC fits us nicely. They have child care with plenty of room for the kids to play, swimming lessons, an outdoor splash pad open during summer, a small indoor kiddy pool, a rock wall (check the hours beforehand) and optional kid fit club so the littles can get a little exercise too. As far as adult options, CAC has a decent selection of instructor-led classes (tho Ive seen more for fitness clubs of this size), lap pool, basketball court (that gets overrun by high schoolers), and a bunch of weights and machines. CAC also has a sauna, jacuzzi and steam room to keep you sweatin. Locker rooms/bathrooms are large with several private showers, private changing booths, a swimming trunk drier, and a roll of baggies for transporting stinky/wet clothes home (genius!). It appears they rent a room out to a massage therapist, but Im fairly certain this is done by appointment only. The spin classes are ok - the instructors are great but theyre limited to some third-party courses that are on repeat for like a full month or something. Because of this, the spin classes get a little monotonous after a few. This also may be the case with other instructor-led classes, but Im not sure.

Lots of cardio equipment. Its great for a family gym with pools, bball court, and a rock climbing area. Its also pretty expensive and its much too crowded during peak times for how much is charged.

Good club with extensive equipment. Men’s locker room just remodeled and the women’s locker room is next. Great staff!

Its 12:45 in the morning and Im reviewing their website trying to find the cost of a membership. This should not be a difficult thing to find. I get a pop up message asking if I want a free guest pass and I asked James how much an individual adult membership is twice and both times he couldnt answer the question and wanted me to get a call from a salesperson. When I said I didnt realize that was such a difficult question and said no thanks I dont want a sales person pressuring me, his response was have a good evening if you change your mind give us a call. What kind of business is that?! Just be upfront about your cost on your website because people are going to find out one way or another. Avoiding a straightforward question is a red flag & poor customer service, no thanks! Now that I have read a number of the reviews on Google my instinct was spot on.

If youre serious about your workouts, stay away from this place. If you just want a place to pretend to workout, it may be alright for you. There are way too many kids running around, especially in the free weight area. Its almost humorous (in a sad way) how there are more rules posted here than any other gym Ive ever been in and yet theyre ignored by most of the members, and the employees! All areas are consistently messy, garbage cans are overflowing and Ive even watched empty bottles lay in the same spot for days on end. Also, watch out for their ignorant and rude personal trainers... I really wonder where they get these people from.
