I have taken all my pets to St. Francis. They have wonderful staff and veterinarians. I wont go anywhere else. Prices are reasonable and staff is very caring and compassionate. Always able to get in for an emergency which is a huge plus as other vets frequently have no appointments for days. Definitely worth the trip! I highly recommend and refuse to go anywhere else! Such amazing angels work here!! Everyone was so friendly and kind. We just moved back to the area and had trouble getting in at other local vets. My dogs had a raging flea problem that we had never dealt with in our previous home. They took care of us quickly and got my pups everything they needed to get it under control. Everyone was so friendly and encouraging. What a great clinic! I will definitely be back. :)

I want to thank Dr Evans for all the special attention she gave to my 14 yr old Chihuahua. She did an excellent job! I took her in for a badly needed teeth cleaning. It took Dr Evans 4 hours to clean up an abscess and extract 10 teeth! To all the staff and especially Jennifer and Stephanie, thank you for caring so much. The love they show to all the animals is amazing! They treat your animals with love and respect and patience. Please treat them they way they treat your fur babies.

We used this clinic for 5 years and they are excellent! We were there often with our large dog whom they took very good care of - she had kidney failure. She was taken care of emotionally and physically both which we believe helped her a great deal. She lived much longer than anticipated. They also accommodated us when we came to visit daily and spent time with her while she was in the hospital. While some of the doctors do not have good beside manner at times, they are still highly effective at treating your dogs. Keep in mind they are human also and get tired in a high stress job like anyone. However, there are some awesome doctors there who are better at communication. Dr. Stoll & Dr. Smiley especially. They are excellent as clinicians and you know they do care. Dr. Tauson is also a great doctor. The Vet Techs and office staff are all very nice, helpful and accommodating. We highly recommend this clinic and they are reasonable with cost as well. As a Clinician myself, I expect quality service. Every time we used their services, they delivered and then some.

Friday 8/27 I lost my cat. We werent rushed, we were spoken to as people, not just as upset cat owners. They checked in on us regularly, but there was no rush as we said goodbye to Ninja. They were incredibly patient with me every time I lost it. Im almost positive they would have let me be there well into the night. She was kept comfortable while she was waiting for me to get there. My mom made all the decisions and plans before I got there, so I didnt have to make any decisions, and nobody tried to fill me in (thank you! I couldnt have heard anyone talk about it so professionally). To be honest, Ninjas send off was as perfect as I could have asked for.

I take my dog rocky here and even tho he doesn’t like the vet doesn’t mean I don’t! The staff was so nice and accommodating for my pup. He turns into a giant baby when it’s time for vaccines or a nail trim but the entire time the staff was in the back with him I could hear them telling him he’s such a good boy and reassuring him. It’s wonderful to go to a place where they treat your animal with love and respect. If I could give 10 stars I would!!

I have never actually been to this hospital but wanted to leave a review in regards to the two times I’ve called looking for availability. Even though both times have been later in the evening and they were at capacity I have had the pleasure to talk to Stefanie who out of all the other clinic representatives she showed concern and compassion for me and my doggy (Jake). She cared when non of the other places did. They just say sorry we’re full! Stefanie took the time to say she was so sorry that Jake wasn’t well and kindly explained how their morning check in process works. I am grateful for the list of other hospitals she texted to me. I was able to get into Dove Lewis early the next morning. My point of this review is that in just the two times I have called reminded me that there are still people in this world who are kind hearted and respectful of our loved ones. I hope to use St. Francis in the future, if there is one person as kind as Stefanie, there must be many more working there.

She really made my boy feel comfortable and at ease. She was really concise about his after care and where I can find supplies. Shes seen him twice since for follow-up care. All of the techs were incredibly friendly and really explained all services and gave me a true cost estimate. 10/10 will recommend and definitely use this vet clinic again.

I have been bringing my exotic pets to St. Francis for several years and theyve always been very kind to my animals and they have always been able to consistently treat my pets. I think the vets are good and they are supportive of the animals in their care. The only complaint I have is with scheduling.I do hope they fix the call in ONLY policy as it took 3 days of calls to get my pet in to see the vet due to not being able to schedule a regular appointment. This is a frustration but the care my animals receive make this a smaller issue than it would otherwise be.

My 11 yr old boy Apollo got sick on Saturday afternoon I tried my regular vet to bring my Apollo in to be checked out. They were closed until Monday morning at 8am. After calling them 29 total times I was told to bring him in at 1pm. Mind you I started calling at 8am. I had him there just before 1pm. At almost 2pm they told me to leave and come back at 3:30pm. They were very rude to me when I asked why the doctor hadnt called me back. I was told the vet was too busy with clients. I told them I was a client too and had spent almost $2000 with them since the first of the year. It was insinuated that at this time I didnt have enough money. I do have a witness to all this. My daughter had used St. Francis before his passing just over a month ago. I called them. They said to call at 730am the next morning at they would see Apollo. I did call, they checked Apollo in and called me when they could see him. They dont set appointment times its all walk in. Thank God they took us in. Xrays and a thorough check up some antibiotics and anti inflammatory meds for Apollo and we went home knowing what was needed. Everyone at St. Francis was more than helpful courteous and caring. I told them I had limited funds and they kept the bill down so I could pay for everything. Apollo had surgery 3 months ago and I had used most every dime I had. I’ve been debating whether I should post a review about my experience or not. But ultimately I think it’s best to share so that others can be informed. My cat has been spraying everywhere in the house so I took her in to Saint Francis to see if there’s any medical problems going on with her. They said her ears are really dirty and need to be cleaned. They said she does not have a UTI but they did say that her urine is a little bit dilute. They also said that she has severe dental disease and all of her teeth should be pulled. The first annoying thing is that I asked them to clean my cats ears while they had her in the back room taking her urine sample. When they brought her back to me, I asked if they cleaned her ears, but they had forgotten. So they had to take her to the back room again to do it. My cat used to be feral. I’ve rescued her and she has been my cat for 2.5 years but is still extremely fearful and traumatized easily. Any extra back-and-forth for her is just that much more stress. The bigger problem with st Francis is everything that they did not find. Because they said that all of her teeth should be pulled, something quite extreme, I wanted to get a second opinion from the vet I used to go to in Portland. (I just moved to Vancouver, so this was a 1st visit for me at st Francis.) After a visit to Cathedral animal hospital in Portland, they found that my cat also has crystals in her urine, a yeast infection in BOTH of her ears, and they said a complete tooth extraction is not necessary at this time (although some teeth do need to be removed). There’s the facts. I highly recommend Cathedral and/or Kenton Animal Hospital (same owner for both) if you want better and more thorough care for your fury friends. I will continue to go to them instead of St Francis.

We currently have eight small dogs. We’ve used St. Francis Veterinary Hospital for decades, and have spent thousands, probably tens of thousands of dollars with them. Yesterday, my wife called them to schedule vaccination updates for our herd. We were told no appointments, first come first serve. Fine. So, she arrived at 0711 this morning with two of our dogs. After an hour and a half, she called them again and asked how soon they’d be able to see our dogs. She was told they were “working on it”. Then, another car arrived, and within 15 minutes they took their pet in for care. After two and a half hours of waiting, my wife left. This isnt a singular experience, rather the straw that broke the camels back. They used to be the best vets we’d worked with, but since the sale of the business to some big corporation a few years back, the care has gotten inconsistent and the service has completely gone downhill. The entire feel of the place is very different, and not in a good way. They won’t get any of our money, ever again. Lots of other quality vet care in Vancouver; big heads up if you are considering using these folks. With all our dogs and the tens of thousands of dollars of business we’ve given them, they just don’t seem to care. No more.Oh, and I posted these facts on their FB page and the post was promptly deleted. Tells much.

My pet needs a shot for asthma roughly every month but I cant make an appointment because its never exactly 30 days, so I just do walk ins. Usually that isnt a problem, but this last time I went there (mind you, I drive 25 mins to get there and 25 back home), I was told that they werent taking walk-ins for the rest of the night. It wasnt even 8pm yet and they dont close until 11pm. A vet isnt even needed to give the shot, its done by a vet tech. Either understaffed or very poor communication practices.. Our dog had a scary amount of blood and other matter in his stool so we rushed him to St. Francis shortly after 8am. They told us we could check in and come back when he can be seen. This seemed like an long wait for being there first thing in the morning, but they were friendly and it was our best option so we were happy. Three hours later they call us to come back to be seen, so we head back immediately. We call them to confirm our arrival and we assume we will be seen relatively soon. We see cars come after us and get seen before us, but we give them the benefit of the doubt. We wait for about 30-40 minutes. So we try to call to get an estimate of when we will be seen, but every time we call we get put on hold for at least 5-10 minutes, so we would wait a bit and try again. Then the lines start going to busy tone every time. About 1 hour and 20 minutes later, unable to get ahold of them and feeling in the dark, unsure whether we are even actually checked in or still on their radar, we start pulling off and decide to monitor our pup at home. A nurse started coming out as we were pulling off but didnt try to flag us down so we werent sure if it was for us. As we were about a block away they called us to tell us that was the nurse coming to get us, and she explicitly promised that if we came back now we would get seen immediately. So we turned around immediately and went back. We sat there for a few minutes waiting for her to come back out. We then tried to call but got nothing but busy tones. So I went to the front door with my dog. After a while I knocked on the window and they came to the front and said it is going to be a bit longer before we get taken back. So we waited another 10 minutes. At that point we decided to leave, again, as our dog was experiencing increased stress. We were giving them the benefit of the doubt knowing that animal hospitals can be backed up and hectic, but felt as if we were completely overlooked.

I dont want to see taunts.St. Francis needs to change their name. They were not exactly informative. Not exactly honest. Not exactly forthcoming. Not exactly diligent. A little manipulative but hopefully in a protective way, hard to tell. But in the end, I think they steered me in the right direction. I got the feeling various individuals wanted to be helpful but that corporate practices got in the way. I dont feel my pet was examined. After my 2020 visit, the business reduced its night hours and I think changed owners. Part of me felt lucky to get in before supposed new ownerships effects.Staff was a little cold or corporately intimidated from being warm. They were mostly young. They were not entirely uncompassionate. I felt the doctor was lacking in something emotional, cant quite put my finger on it. But the doctor was great with efficiency, skills & negotiation. And cared, at least on some level. I was able to get emails to stop.

While I think the treat the animals very well it leaves a lot to be desired in there handling of people. No one seems to care about waiting I’ve been in the parking lot for over 6 hours. They need to learn to schedule properly or be consistent in there advisements. If I was told in the beginning to call work the “walk in” I would have and stayed home which is over an hour away but upon arrival I’m told 2-3 hour wait then told after the third hour another 2 now after that told another 2 MAYBE. If it wasn’t for an infection that may set in I would have left. The use of COVID to treat people like this is insane. This is the second time this type of thing has happened here. 1st time I wast forgot and say here for nearly 4 hours that time 5 until 9pm. Not well managed at all.

Even though there is no inside contact with them due to the covid restrictions and all contact is done from your car via phone. Our experience was wonderful. They greeted us and took our Kitty in for her annual checkup. Kept in contact during her visit. We are completely satisfied with this clinic. Keep up the good work and will see you again!

St Francis used to care about animals and providing treatment. Now all they care about is how much they can charge. Very disappointed that being so busy during the pandemic they won’t see animals who may have serious infection, they just say opening is in 3 month and walk in is full you can maybe try later but no set time for walk-in just keep trying and if you are lucky enough to get in every visit is going to cost you a minimum of $200.00 I have never paid less. They uncaring unhelpful group!!! I don’t recommend them at all!

My husband and I called every other day for three weeks to get my dogs nails clipped. It went right to voicemail, unlike any time before, so we kept leaving messages asking for calls back to get my dogs nails clipped. Finally my husband was able to get through to a person yesterday (a Saturday) and said weve been leaving messages and needed my dogs nails clipped, that wed been calling and leaving messages for 3 weeks. They offered us a 10:15am appointment time for today (Sunday), which my husband took of course. He took her to get her nails clipped, then when he got there, he had to call 3 times to get through to anyone (busy signal?), and then they waited for more than an hour in the parking lot (COVID practices). When they finally came out to get her, they only had her inside for two minutes - when they brought her back out, they said she was too panicky to cut her nails. What? Are you kidding me? After making them sit in the parking lot for an hour?! She knows shes been waiting at the vet for an hour! Why would you not clip her nails?! Youre a vet - isnt it part of your job to handle panicky animals?Im done with St. Francis Animal Hospital, which upsets me, because I dont like having to change veterinarians. But if I could give them.0 stars, I would. Be mindful of what youre getting yourself into when you go to St. Francis.

Every step of my experience at St. Francis was superb. Their Covid policies were exceptionally thorough and made me feel safe. The person I spoke to on the phone was kind, empathetic, informed, and explained everything I needed to know clearly. The technician who picked my dog up and dropped her off again was also lovely and able to answer my questions. The vet who saw my dog was so thorough, caring, and patient. She communicated with me and even waited until I could call our regular vet (I was seeing St. Francis as an emergency) to confirm my dogs records before making a decision on her treatment. I cannot praise the overall quality of human beings who work here enough. Thank you for taking such good care of my dog!

My cat has a wound to his chest that wasnt getting better. I call first thing yesterday. Busy signal. Call 15-20 more times. Still busy. I work down the street so I left work to and head there to make appointment. I call the number again, standing right outside. Still busy. See 3 girls at the front desk not on the phone. Call again. Still busy. so after 15 min of standing right out front and no one coming out, I knock on the window. A lady comes out and I tell her ive been calling all day. She said the phone lines are working. I call again to prove it. She says she believes me and tells me to hold on and goes back inside and then comes back outside and says try again. I call and it rings. While still ringing, she says make an appt with them. I can see the lady that picks up, then she tells me they dont make appts now that its a walk in service, which was not the case during covid, in which the lady that helped me says to come back in the morning and be treated as a walk, even though they know about the infected wound. I come back, with my cat, at 730am today and call the number and the lady that picks up and i tell her what is happening and happened, and she says it will be 4-5 hours. I was like, fine, come out here and get my cat and since i work down the street i can come and pick himup. she said that i can wait in the parking lot or come back in 4-5 hours. Even then no guarantees. Shocked by all the lies, i just asked for his medical records. Do not use this vet. This business model will fail. I then start reading reviews..... Basically this is not the first time and it wont be the last. Very disappointed.

We only came to this clinic because they see reptiles. Im glad we did. The staff is super friendly. Even short staffed the day of our visit and ferrying pets back and forth in the rain to clients cars, they were still very professional and friendly. The vet was informative and open to as many questions as we could think of. They even helped make the carrier we brought our bearded dragon in safer for our little one. From start to finish our visit was great. The gentleman who called for the visit reminder and took our initial information was my favorite. Best vet clinic we have ever been to.

It was very busy and we did have to wait a bit, but we walked in with no appointment, so it was expected... and it was still only about a half an hour! I take all my fur members there for the past 9 years. They are affordable, respectful, kind. I have actually had to say goodbye to a few of my animals there. There was no rush and they let me take my time in saying goodbye. My newest chihuahuas loved it there. They are also wonderful with my dog Peyton who sometimes has high anxiety in situations. They understand her space and how to examine her without more anxiety.

This place really helped us on New Year’s Eve. Every other emergency vet had 12-15 hour wait times. St. Francis got us in and out in under three. And for a fraction of what I was expecting to pay for an emergency vet. Highly recommend when you need help quick

For future reference, whether or not a dog is constipated is NOT a criteria for determining whether a dogs pain is an emergency. Dogs work to hide pain, and when the pain becomes obvious, this will always be an emergency. My dog suffered 3 days while he was being turned away for a walk in and by the time I found another clinic, it was too late. My dog is dead. He had been a patient at St Francis for almost 10 years. I regret that. I will never forgive them.

Besides the fact COVID-19 has changed how we have to wait in our truck, the staff at St. Francis was amazing and so caring for fur baby. We took our baby in because he could walk and it was the hardest thing watching him go in with a stretcher. Thank you to the staff for making us feel comfortable that he will be in good hands. They do a great job helping as many pets as possible. I remember when my new kitten had worms they were the only vet willing to get her in same day. As for appointments, they took great care of my kitten, took way longer to get her back but I could tell that the staff was exhausted but still had smiles on their faces and great attitudes even though they were super busy taking on emergencies all day. Was it tough waking up so early to drop of my kitten and then picking her up so late? Absolutely, but I’m thankful the staff here work so hard to take in emergencies and take care of everyone’s fur babies. If that means I have to pick up kitten late to save another person’s pet, so be it ❤️

Last week our very loved 5 year old cat Charlie became critically ill and we needed urgent care for him. He showed absolutely no sign of sickness or injury, but within 3 days he was fighting for his life. We had only had him a month; adopting him from a family member who had passed away in Tennessee. After getting a clean bill of health before coming to us, we fell in love right away. We were an emotional wreck to see him struggling 😢. The people at St. Francis were so wonderful! They did absolutely everything possible to try and save him and kept us updated constantly. Though in the end, his condition was so severe they couldn’t save him, we will forever be grateful to the staff that cared for and about him! They were so very compassionate 😢. This hospital went above and beyond for our beloved Charlie so thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for your extraordinary efforts ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
