These guys are professionals. This means, dont ask them to put on your part. There are many reasons why a shop doesnt like that. I have my own line on parts, and I get a commercial price. I will not pay an inflated shop cost for my part.Since I know how the game works, the service guy straight up said, Thats how we make our money. I already knew this. I laughed and said they make their money on labor, not on bending me over on parts costs. He disagreed. Yes, they make some money on labor, but they make more by selling parts *over* the retail cost... And they buy at commercial prices.If you choose to use their *professional* services, be prepared to pay for it. Theyre more concerned with selling you overpriced parts than getting paid for the actual labor/service. I found the mechanic I need to put my alternator in at a fair price... but not here! 🤑

Took my  Subaru WRX 08, RED,  in last week to figure out why my oil was burning so quick. When I went to pick it up,they told me :I had hole in my radiator.My heads needed to be rebuilt.An oil leaking from the heads.A new timing belt.Leaking radiator fluid on the right side on bottom.Total cost to repair it was $4000.Obviously,Im not going to put $4000 into a car,so my only option was to trade it in. I decided to get a second opinion at another mechanic in Portland.He found NONE  of those issues wrong with my car.Whats actually wrong with my car:-Header tank HOSE going to radiator is leaking by clamp. Dripping down to the bottom of the radiator making it look like there are two leaks.-Turbo drain leaking-Power steering pump is covered in oil dirt-Suspect firewall fix is needed-Pedal box flex-Steering rack boot seeping-Both valve covers are leakingTotal cost for repairs there,$2500.For one,if I truly had a hole at the bottom of my radiator, all the liquid would had drained out,and my engine would have been so over heated, I wouldnt have made it down the street without having my engine blow up.I have a hole at the top of hose,not bottom of radiator.  They were trying to get me to buy a whole new radiator because of this hole.I have seen the reviews and was so happy to take it here. I trusted them to be honest.  Was not the case.I only paid for the diagnostic, but they need to understand they cant do this to people.  Its not right.I have photos of the invoices from both places,to show the difference  and that Im not just a disgruntled customer. I had no work done,but I was about to trade in my car because the repairs were so expensive, it wasnt worth it. I will attach them to this review below.All I want is for your mechanics to be honest about what they found. Good honest work, great customer service. Kyle will do anything needed to get your work done correctly. Just had a complete motor rebuild on my 6.0 Powerstroke, took longer than expected but Kyle kept me informed and honest. A couple things were found to be re done after the repair, and they were more than happy to do whatever it takes to get it fully repaired. I would definitely recommend them.

1st red flag should have been the yelling that was going on between the manager and another customer. I took my truck in to have them check the glow plugs, a/c and a few other items. Long story long I get a quote for $15,000 for a laundry list of things wrong with it. They also said I needed a new compressor and possibly a whole new a/c system. They also said they couldnt find any codes on my plugs. I took my truck to another shop literally right up the road. They fixed my a/c unit, said it was a faulty in line valve and got a code for the bad plugs. Unbelievable, I will never take a vehicle to them again. On a side note, thanks Pegoraro for helping me to find a local shop that I can trust.

Outstanding service, flexibility, and helpfulness. I would give them an extra star if I could.We were driving into town in a 1988 22 Class B motorhome with an aftermarket engine conversion when it started acting up. We called a few places and when they heard what we had they were all unable to take us. But when I called Pegoraro the immediate response was No problem!. We were able to drop the RV off that night and the next day they were very prompt with their communication and diagnosis.Some hard to find parts (old vehicle after all) were needed but they went the literal extra mile and their parts person drove 3 hours to get us what we needed to get back on the road.It is rare to find a shop that can deal with our odd / old RV, let alone one to do it with such friendliness and efficiency.

When it comes time to get your auto repairs done I wouldnt look any further than Pegoraro. Ryan very knowledgeable and honest about my repair. And while the extent work being done was costly, the overall price and value was better than other local shops. They had me back on the road within a day and topped off my gas tank which made me happy in a rather undesirable situation. Thank you for the service, I will come back again!

Excellent customer service! I called at 7:30am and explained my situation, Bryan (I believe thats what he is name is). was able to fit us in even though they where booked for the day! I cant thank them enough for fixing our drivers side door window.

It started with my 7:30am appointment to drop it off. I received an email at 7:34 that read vehicle update, that they were starting to work on my vehicle. Except my car was still in the parking spot that I had left it in, as I was still in the parking area as my ride was still looking up directions. I guess dont take them literally that they have started to work on your vehicle. It must be a metaphor for the bill. It made me hesitate though, I reminded myself that they were rated 5 stars with at least 88 reviews, and I made it very clear that I wanted to find out what was draining my battery. That was my main and only concern. Though Kyle offered a complementary inspection with the diagnosis. After the the first text , and email update that said more would come I received nothing for the rest of the day. Thinking an electrical diagnosis shouldnt take that long I called at 3:51pm for an update on my diagnosis. I was given a bull story that they would need to keep my car overnight because they would need time for the module to power down. What module you say? Well I dont know exactly something the mechanics said it would have to sit over night. A quick Google search stated that a car should take 5 to 70 minutes at most to power down. Any more than that and thats your dead battery problem. But what do I know? I am not a mechanic. They did offer a complimentary loner car. Except he did not mention this until I called. The next day I received an email and text update in the morning. Stating that my car needs a new battery because its dead. And that there is no oil showing on the dipstick because it is probably leaking from the oil pan. Funny thing is that I checked my oil the day I brought my car in and it was fine. Also I park in a paved driveway there are no oil stains. Do you think that their mechanics know that on this version of Lincoln LS it only measures oil on one side of the dipstick? When I brought up that the oil was not reading on the dipstick at the counter and told them how it works I was told Yeah I think we know that let me go confer with the Technician. He left the door open so I was able to see and some what hear him tell a guy to check it again and look at both sides. Then he came back into the room and told me, oh there was a miscommunication, they did not say the car was reading no oil but that it was low on oil. So in the end I paid 331.36 to find out my 2005 Lincoln LS is old and has a dead battery. 276.84 of the bill for labor. 27.41 for supplies. Yet not closer to finding out what is killing my battery. Even the last thing I was told that they ran what test they could with the battery the way it was. So what does that mean? I am Dissatisfied. Though I will say they were friendly.I was contacted by Matt shortly after my first post. He apologized for their poor service and for not living up to the quality experience they strive for. He explained that I should have been informed that my battery was not holding a charge so that I could get a new one before the tests or that they should have used a stock battery while running the diagnosis as it is hard to figure out what is draining a dead battery. He refunded my money and said that after I got a new battery if I still had problems to feel free stop on by for a full diagnosis.I respect and appreciate that they care about what their customers think and feel about their service.

It was March 12th and my 3 year old son and I we were headed to bestbuy on 205 when I got a flat tire (of course had no idea how to change it) and this SUPER AMAZING gentlemen. Whose name is Danny was so kind enough to pull over and change put my donut tire on. If it wasnt for Danny then me and my toddler would have had to wait over 2 hours for Toyota assistance with nothing but cereal and a juice box. Pegoraro’s performed a “same day” inspection on a used van I was planning to purchase.A very thorough inspection and detailed report including pictures and necessary work descriptions. These folds are not the least expensive but you get what you pay for.In this case they discovered a leaking head gasket. The repair cost could not be justified given the value of the car so the inspection turned out to be a good investment.

Id give this place ZERO stars if I could. Weve been calling it Purgatory Motors. Theyve had my classic car for OVER 7 weeks now and every week they claim parts havent been delivered or the final topper today was (when they PROMISED ALL WORK WOULD BE DONE BY TODAY) that theyve been waiting for the transmission to get back from another place (which was the holdup LAST WEEK). Find another place to go. A friend recommended this spot to me and I will not return the favor by recommending it to ANYONE.

They gave me a quote that was the lowest in the area I had found and then after the work was complete it was less than they had quoted. Kyle is great with his customer service. He answered all my questions with enthusiasm. It was great that they sent someone to pick me up when I didnt have a ride to pick up my car. Torrie (spelling?) was a great conversationalist when she picked me up to take me to the shop. When my cruise control stopped working after my wheel bearings were replaced they were quick to find that my third brake lights burned out and caused the issue. Then my wheel bearing they had replaced failed they replaced it at no charge to me. Will definitely recommend to people.

I could not be happier with them. I own a business that I have to use my van to get from job to job. Wednesday late afternoon I was driving on the freeway and my transmission went out. This is a really new van with 61k miles. Of course my warranty is 60k miles. They was nice and called a tow truck for me. Van arrived about 45 minutes later just before 5 p.m. I told them it was crucial to get it done as fast as possible. They called around and the only place that could rebuild my transmission fast was up in Seattle. They pulled my transmission out that night and the owner drove the transmission to Seattle at 4 in the morning on Thursday. They picked my transmission up from Seattle Monday morning and put two guys on the job and I received my van back Monday afternoon. This was a 3 day turnaround because you cant count the weekend. They way above and beyond to get me working again. I cant tell you how much I appreciated there hard work.

Service and repair on my 1999 Volvo has been exceptional! They are very updated, courteous and fast. I feel very secure with them taking care of my Volvo.

The crew at Pegoraro Auto Repair is great to work with. They were able to take care of my needs in a timely manner and offered a loaner vehicle free of charge. The prices for the labor was competitive and fair, and although a couple of shops were a little lower, I felt that the service and integrity of the shop was worth much more than the difference. I just completed my first repair at this facility. I received an estimate over the phone for a fuel pump replacement so I had my truck towed to this shop for the repair. There was some miscommunication over the phone regarding the total cost of the repair but we were able to quickly come to a reasonable compromise that I found satisfactory. The repair was done quickly and professionally as well as all of the communication between myself and shop employees was professional. I will return for future services as needed.

The work Pegoraro did for me was late (caused me to reschedule my vacation), poor quality (I went back twice for missing/loose bolts), and overpriced (over 100% markup on parts per online prices and $150/hr labor). Since I dont trust Pegoraro with my vehicle now, their warranty is worthless to me. I tried to negotiate a more reasonable price with the manager, Matt, to no avail. My experience may not reflect how theyve done for others. Maybe it was a fluke. But Matts unwillingness to reduce the price of his shops poor workmanship is what will keep me from doing business with Pegoraro ever again.

Tuned my carburetor incorrectly, when I didnt authorize adjustments to be made. You cannot tune a Weber 32/36 like a stock Toyota carb, but they seem to think that and a 1200+RPM idle speed is okay.Claims they Dont know who I am or what vehicle I had. I brought a 1985 Toyota pickup in for a SMOKE test. I rebuilt the motor, I do all my own work. I asked for a smoke test to verify what I already knew, that I didnt have any vacuum leaks. This is all I asked for.A smoke test does not entail tuning my carburetor PAST Webers guidelines. If you cannot work on something with an aftermarket carburetor, dont accept the damn work in the first place. I run a business surrounding these trucks, I help dozens of people with the same carburetor. I know these in and out. Again, I did not authorize work to be done to my carburetor.I did not have the provisions to do a smoke test myself, so I outsourced to a local business.

Update: Im less thrilled after learning that I was charged considerably more for parts than MSRP and some extra fees that were not explained to me when I was at the shop. I was charged over $100 per part ordered - thats over MSRP, and the parts were brought over from local suppliers so its not like they overnight-shipped anything. I called my warranty group to find out if my being charged $750 for a warranty-covered repair made any sense and they went through line by line and explained to me what was covered. I even asked them to explain the pricing process and where that MSRP value came from and where it ranks in terms of fair value (including coverage for labor) and it was said to be right in the ballpark of the national average. My warranty group uses AllData for parts and labor fees which is a nationally-recognized book (kind of like Kelly Blue Book but for parts and repair services). My total work was around $1,450. Basically, I got overcharged and the shop is making money off of the parts and theyre also charging more than average for the labor. Especially in a tough time financially this is unacceptable. I appreciate that they got the work done but the amount they charged me was ridiculous. I wont come back because I know now that my warranty will not cover a significant portion of the repair and part costs. BTW, my warranty is a really, really, really good warranty. My friend worked my warranty deal and got me one that is difficult to land for my truck (paid $4,000 for a 4-yr unlimited mileage warranty with a $100 deductible). If Pegoraro can address this and make it right, Ill change my review to reflect a more positive experience but until then I can only say they got the job done but at quite a price which they apparently didnt do enough to be clear on in terms of how the pricing worked and what they were charging for. They just told me your warranty wont cover all of the repairs so youll have a remaining balance to take care of. By the way, they sent in a quote for $1,100 to my warranty group but they gave me a bill of $1,450 (approximately) and that looked shady. Ill be trying to work through this but Im not sure what theyll end up with.Needed a new brake cylinder as my brakes basically gave out. Called 5 places between Chehalis and Vancouver and non of the dealers would slot me in and the first small shop I called couldn’t work me in either. I needed a place to have my truck examined. Pegoraro has good reviews and I figured I’d give them a shot since I’m from out of town and didn’t know who else to go to. Good service, reasonable pricing for parts and labor. Warranty helped cover part of my expense but once the warranty paid out they had my truck done the same day they started work on it. I appreciated the text updates that showed the inspection form, all photos of problems found, and a basic rundown of cost. Give these guys a shot.

Finally, after trying Matts and another shop in town, I found a place that can actually finish the job and do it right.I had a problem with play in the steering and wandering as I drove down the road. I took it to Matts twice and told them that I wanted it fixed. After the first repair, I ended up going back a few months later again for the same thing. This time I was assured that it would be fixed. It still had a problem when I got home. I drove it for a while to really verify that it wasnt totally fixed - because I couldnt believe that this was really happening. I finally decided to try another shop.Todd at Pegoraro Auto Repair took it in for an estimate and their professional mechanic found things that should have been replaced when the front end tie rods, ball joints, and steering box were replaced. (understand, I had Matts do at least $3,000+ work on this part of my truck) Pegoraro Auto Repair had the front end repairs done in 2 days, and also fixed an A/C problem too. I took it for a drive and couldnt believe how nice it drove. As soon as I got home, Todd called me to make sure that I liked the job they did.You can find many cheaper places to have your car or truck fixed in Vancouver, but none will do a better job than Pegoraro Auto Repair! Have it done right the first time at Pegoraro Auto Repair!

I know they are honest because one of the issues we asked them to resolve was the sliding door that wouldnt open all the way and they found that it was just debris blocking it, so they removed the dirt and debris and greased it up. Some shops would have made it sound worse and charged us to fix it, but they didnt charge anything over the diagnosis fee. We are SUPREMELY impressed with them and will get all of our car repairs done here!

My car needed a new transmission and their suggestion was to try flushing the transmission fluid first to see if that got rid of the horrible sound my car was making. It cost me $800 and the car made exactly the same sound. Nothing changed. I did not feel safe driving it home and the only alternative they said was spending $8000 on a new transmission. They did say they would apply the $800 to the $8000 if I took care of my transmission with them right then, but I knew I could find someone to do it cheaper. Im a very unsatisfied customer. Go to someone else. Bottom line, problem wasnt fixed.

The whole team is amazing! As a single female, picking the right shop can be extreme hard! A lot of places give you the feeling of being taken advantage of because you don’t know the typical pricing to get items fixed on your car. Pegoraro always offers a rental when my car needs work, and get have helped me a ton just in the last year! Had to get my engine rebuilt for a timing belt and I have had about 4 check engine light issues that they have fixed within 24 hours for me! They are great!! :)

This shop is awesome, they were eager to help and get me a loaner car to get to work. They worked with me on cost and made it easy to pay them by phone.

Went in with a 14 year old truck (with an aftermarket warranty), and after asking whats wrong, I told them that I think my transmission is going bad, and told them symptoms. Later that day or the next, I get a laundry list of problems, main being an oil filter. Told me the warranty wont fix the problems because they want them to take the engine apart and prove its the oil filter. Pegoraro said they wont, so I had to pay around $350 for diagnostics, basically for nothing, and tow it somewhere else. Took it to Gaynors, and they agreed that its the transmission, had a brand new one installed a week later, including new brake calipers, and was all covered under warranty.

I recently took my truck to Pegoraro Auto Repair because I’d done an engine swap. But upon installation was having backfiring issues and was having trouble diagnosing the problem. I 1st went into talk to them and they were very helpful, being new to the area I was unfamiliar with a reliable auto mechanic. After talking to them for a few minutes I felt comfortable taking my truck in. They had the problem diagnosed and fixed in less than 24 hours and were constantly updating me through out the process. Absolutely excellent service, was unfortunate enough to get a series of bad injectors, and the Team (particularly Kyle) were absolutely fantastic to work with, replaced my injectors a second time, and got the truck back in fighting form.

This is by far the best shop in Vancouver.Their attention to detail and professionalism is unmatched. I’ve been coming here for 6 years and always get the first class treatment. They had one employee do a bad job, Joe promptly let him go and continue to go out of the way to take care of me.I just recently had them do a complete overhaul of my Duramax Diesel. A massive job completed in just five days. Whenever I call, they find a way to work around my busy schedule and get me back on the road. I will definitely be using them for my ongoing truck project.

I can’t recommend these gentlemen highly enough.I travel weekly between Tacoma and my home in Vancouver. During my last trip home a warning light came on telling me to “CHECK HYBRID SYSTEM” immediately after my cruise control kicked off during acceleration. The car drove fine, no other lights came on, temperature stayed low and I could detect no weird sounds, smells, or any difference in the handling at all. I drove directly to the Lexus dealership in Portland where after a few hours of waiting around, I was given an estimate of $2k “for starters” because they weren’t exactly sure what was wrong with my car, but the warning light indicated that the oil pump in the transmission needed to be replaced. Of course, Lexus didn’t want to honor their own warranty which covers my hybrid system to 100k miles - and my current miles are 96k. If it was an issue with the hybrid transmission it should be covered, right? Yeah...Irritated and remembering the last time I took my car in there when it was pulling to the right and they wanted $3100 to fix a control arm they said was bent (it wasn’t - just needed an alignment) I started looking for a repair shop on my side of the river. I googled ‘Lexus repair Vancouver WA’ and Pegoraro popped up. I thought Hmm... Italian name, maybe they know foreign cars, and gave them a call. From the start of this process, they were totally kind, answered all of my questions, and listened to me instead of dismissing me like the other guys had. I just felt that it wasn’t a transmission issue but that the warning light had something to do with my going 90mph in cruise. They had an estimate to me by the end of the day: the inverter coolant pump was faulty and replacement would be less than $800. They even loaned me a car at no charge. Given that there was also some general maintenance stuff to do, I asked them to do that too. My total bill for the repair, the maintenance stuff and diagnostics was less than $1500 so they saved me at least $500, I got a bunch of stuff that needed to be done done, my car drives better than it did before all this and I didn’t have to drive over to Portland to do it.I feel LUCKY and happy to have found a trustworthy, transparent, very clean, super convenient repair shop run by REALLY nice humans. I’ll never go anywhere else plus I like keeping my hard-earned dollars local.I highly recommend Pegoraro Auto Repair to anyone who’s ever felt intimidated, vulnerable or irritated during the car repair process - you don’t have to know all about cars. I brought my wifes 96 subaru legacy in for a roadtrip inspection and the fear of needing new brakes. I was told brakes were fine and just dry so they greased the brakes up wich quieted them up and saved me some money. Also got my power steering fluid exchanged wich drastically made a big difference and now we dont need a pump. They also put all new brake fluid in the car along with a coolant flush.
