Worst place to live in 2021. Never any consistent communication and an entire new staff is hired on every other week. There’s so many other places that are far more worth it. This place was awful and doesn’t take care of maintenance concerns either. Which is really important when it comes to problems with gas lines etc to their fireplaces. Don’t be fooled by the charming behavior they have to get you in... It doesn’t stay that way after you’ve signed the lease.

The lack of communication and extraordinarily high rate of employee turnover warrants a 2 star rating in my eyes. I lived in this apartment complex from August 2020-July 31, 2021. During this time period, I noticed that management started to go downhill after the old leasing manager Olivia left. After she was replaced, calls and emails would take 2-5 days to be returned, whereas before they were answered within 48 hours. The maintenance team went from a 24 hr response time to 48-72 hr response time. Additionally, there were times when I had to contact management because of incorrect billings. Now, as a former resident, I have tried to reach the manager about this specific issue again for going on 3 weeks, and have yet to have my messages returned or my calls answered. The location of this apartment complex affords you a variety of conveniences, and if that’s important to you, then you should live there. However, note that the culture of this property is turning out to be extremely $ hungry with no regard for cultivating a relationship with its residents. Also, there are very few communal amenities available. And of course, your attempts to get ahold of leasing staff or management if you have a problem may be delayed or altogether ignored — regardless of whether you are a current or former resident.

This is my first apartment. I was very nervous about getting one and heard all about this, that or the other. However, when I applied for this apartment during the COVID -19, I had no issues with this complex or the Managers Staff. We kept good communication through email and kept me updated on whats going on. They were friendly and professional and made me feel welcome. Even though I talk loud and Im hearing impaired, they did not make the move nerve-racking. I was super excited when I finally moved in and the maintenance personnel was able to help me move my TV. Upon receiving the keys and was explained, what I can and can not on the complex, I was ready. I already have friends who came over and told me, ” I want to move here ”. For this being on my own and subsequently close to my job, this place has everything close by or walking distance to everything. Thank you, guys, for making this happen smoothly.

Stayed with them for a year... Had multiple packages stolen which security did nothing about. They also had their maintenance guy coming into my apartment unannounced because of a leak to my downstairs neighbors (which was never resolved after multiple visits). We also had rickety stairs to our apartment which were NEVER fixed even though our older neighbors complained about it too multiple times. The parking was the worst, seriously the worst Ive ever had in Vancouver apartments, and Ive lived at multiple complexes over 16 years. On top of it all, my apartment was *spotless* when I vacated the property. The property manager even said it looked ready to move in to my face when turning in the keys, but still had the nerve to charge me almost $500 for cleaning fees. Seriously would NEVER recommend or live here again. The apartment was nice for what it was, but the cons DEFINITELY outweighed the pros.

I wrote the below review a year ago, and well into my second year, I wouldnt change a word:Well managed, well maintained and a high degree of responsiveness marks this community. Conveniently located, yet surprisingly quiet for apartment, city living. Close to major highway access, transit service, and all shopping facilities, yet has the feeling of being removed from the hustle/bustle normally associate with a large urban area. Close to everything while preserving the feeling of remoteness. Residents are friendly and helpful. I have lived here for almost a year and am as happy as the day I moved in.

Horrible horrible place. no parking whatsoever, it gets so bad that people are parking in front of garages, and in handicap spots. hidden fees everywhere. told water would be included in rent and it was not, and the way the water is set up is it takes the amount of water from your building (all four units) and divides it between all of you, so if you have neighbors with kids you are screwed. there is a security fee also that adds up quick. apparently there is a fee for cat but not for dogs... the initial fee is 300$ and 35$ a month, each year you have to pay another 300, and you get none of it back when you move out. All the neighbors that i have met so far are rude and loud. i cant even open my window because my neighbors right behind me like to make out in practically nothing in front of the window on a regular basis. also there apparently there is no time limit on when you can be loud so i have a neighbor that likes to warm up his motorcycle at 6 am, and every one here has a supped up car that they like to warm up and rev late at night, early in the morning or just for 2-3 hours during the day. these apartments are over priced and not worth the money. will be moving out once our lease is up, would move sooner if we could afford the 3000+ they want up to pay to leave the lease.

My husband(retired) and I moved into the Addison apartments from out of state, sight unseen. We stayed one year until our lease ended. We chose the Addison primarily for the central location, access to C-Tran express bus, ground floor apartment and its within walking distance to a grocery store. However, prospective renters should be aware the apts. are quite noisy. You can hear the neighbors washing machine running, as well as toilets and showers. Conversations can be heard through the thin walls. There are no designated parking spaces unless you rent a carport or garage. We often had to park a building away and walk with groceries. Garbage was not picked-up before it was overflowing the dumpsters and the trash area are disgusting. Also. Be aware of move-out expenses above what reasonable apartment communities charge, like complete repaint etc. On the positive, maintenance requests were handled promptly and the community is pet-friendly.

Worst place ever to live. Drugs run wild, I found needles outside my parking spot. Just last night ambulance and police came for a guy that overdosed. The staff is rude and standoffish, there is no ability to work with these people. Bi-monthly inspections and privacy invasion. My apartment was broke into within the first couple of months living here, and then our bikes were stolen right off our porch locked up and all. Dog crap is everywhere! The kids have no place to play, they would always stop at my place to get wet naps to clean the crap off their feet. I complained for 2 years and nothing was ever done. People throw their cigarette butts in the bark and start fires, they have no appreciation when you save their junk apartments from doom. They raise the rent after each time your lease is up. Its very loud! With parties every weekend, you can hear the neighbors do everything. The walls are paper thin so you hear all the dirty stuff too. The people they let move in have no respect for anything. Our neighbor constantly walked her animals with no leash which entered our apartment multiple times while the door was open. Making a complaint did nothing, 90% of the time you get the voicemail and never a return call. The staff again is just so incredibly rude! I cannot stress that enough. If you start complaining about the people they start to turn on you and give you notices for everything. The maintenance guy is ridiculous! His garage where he keeps all his stuff was right outside our apartment and there was trash everywhere, he didnt touch it for a week - finally I cleaned it up because I was sick of looking at it. When I said something to management I got yelled at and told she was short staffed. The so called security patrols in a LOL fashion - he enters one entrance stops, takes a leak on the side of the building near the mailboxes and then exits at the other entrance. Myself and other residence were sitting outside twice while this happened and could just laugh. Overall its the worst apartment Ive ever lived. I am so thankful I moved out (July 2015).

The staff was fine. But theres no parking. And they dont try to accommodate with you at all. People without permits will park in non visitors spots and they wont tow or anything, but they will tow a car with a permit if it hasnt moved in 3 days or its parked in a grey area. You pay a pretty price for a small apartment, and you end up with no parking, no pool, no real amenities except a fitness center aka a boflex machine. They enforce some rules but not others, and only do so when convenient so you never know. I wouldnt recommend living here to anyone.

The grounds are kept up with exception to the overflowing trash - mostly from lazy tenants sending their kids to take the trash out. The visitor parking has improved, the office personnel always greet you with a smile and the maintenance staff is expedient in fulfilling service requests. With regard to the location, the complex is close to everything - grocery, restaurants, the mall, walking paths and multiple routes to access both I5 and I-205.The downside of this specific complex comes from the other residents - not the management. You have your occassional pot fumes from the upper tenants, the more consistent issues Ive had in my two years at The Addison are the constant door slamming and stomping while going up and down the stairs from the upstairs neighbors and the kids running and jumping in their apartment (that just comes from lack of common respect for people living nearby). Its so bad it rattles my ceiling light fixtures and has knocked pictures off my wall! There are children left unattended running around the parking lot near cars and behind the buildings and on patios at all hours of the day and night. After countless times of confronting parents asking them to keep their kids off my car and out from behind the buildings (its not a nature path) and asking their daughter(s) to stop screaming unless they are in danger, over and over I hear the parents say, Theres no place for the kids to play... For anyone reading this in its entirety, THIS IS NOT A CHILD-FRIENDLY COMMUNITY and thats not a bad thing. You should have asked about that before you moved in! If its a priority to have a place for you child to roam free without supervision, you would have known that by asking! Its not the property mgmts fault. If you have children, take an active role in their life and plan on entertaining your child/ren yourself by keeping an eye on them and maybe taking them to a park! It doesnt mean move in and let them run around the dumpsters, throughout the parking lot almost getting hit or challenging the incoming cars or writing in the dirt on your car or the best is coming home to see that kids have jumped the lower unit rail to try and access the storage and mess with a grill (all of which I have pictures of)! No matter where you live, if you have issues, its up to YOU to make the first move and notify someone, otherwise, it will not get addressed. Call the management office and if its after hours, leave them a message, then call the security office or the police - be proactive. Ill renew again and have no problem being an active participant in making my community a safe and happy one.

Aside from the management, which is pleasant to deal with, this place is awful. For the price theyre way too small, parking finally started to improve somewhat, of course as we were leaving, and the garbage area, OMG! There are NO amenities for what you pay plus they charge you for everything under the sun, including the lawn maintenance. Yes, each tenant is required to pay an additional charge for lawn maintenance which is ridiculous. The flat fee utilities you pay on top of the rent is in my opinion a joke. Makes one wonder what exactly the true cost is. When we left there was no final walk through to compare to the initial walk through so theyll probably charge for things that they shouldnt. I highly recommend you consider anywhere else before thinking of leasing one of these units.

Review №43

We lived at the Addison for just over a year and to say it was a horrible place to live is an understatement. You can obviously tell by the reviews this place has. The office staff is fantastic. That is actually one of the main reasons we originally came back to them was because their customer service was actually very good. When we moved in Johnny was working up front (he is no longer there) and they recently got a new manager and she is very good as well. The apartments themselves are cheaply made but they charge you waaaaay too much for what you get. When we moved in we had a list of 4 or 5 things that needed to be fixed, the day we moved out (a year and 1 month later) there were 3 of those that were still not completed. We were never asked to do a final walk through when we turned in our keys and were sent a bill in the mail after we didnt even have a chance to compare the original walk through notes and what we were charged for after we left. The parking is a whole different story. My father in law (who lived with us) would get home from work around 11 many nights and have to sit at Winco until 5 or 6 in the morning because there was no parking, which at that point forced us to pay an addition $50 on top of the almost $1500 we were paying for rent just so he had a spot to park at night. I do have to say before we left the parking was getting better but the spots are still too small and not near enough visitor spots. There are no amenities for what you pay. They also charge an addition cam charge on your utilities and say its for lawn maintenance which is ridiculous because every other apartment complex you talk to have never heard of such thing. the garbage area is always over flowing and it was disgusting... We went over there several times and couldnt even walk into the garbage area because the garbage was piled up all over the ground. We did love having to vaulted ceilings and our neighbors were nice but all in all, this was not a good experience and not a good place to live. I want to reiterate though, the office staff is very nice and they are great but the complex itself isnt well maintained and the management company squeeze you for ever dime they can. If you can avoid living here, i would say do it.

You can rent better for cheaper elsewhere. There are perks that other pkaces dont offer, but advertised photos dont meet reality-- the perks dont make up for whats lost in this deception price and maintenence delay etc. Otherwise it offers lower prices than some-- at the cost of a subpar neighborhood and previously mentioned maladies. The in unit washer and dryer are highly desired (at least to me) and likely the only true amenity I can attest to. The other ammeneties described by the websitve can be foujd for cheaper in better neighborhoods with better more attentive staff. The staff does seem csoable of policing the pkace but not caring about residents, either due to the sheer number or their own faults. Maintenence is there but too few given the population. Many unmentioned issues continue to run amok and resident sooesr to sccept them-- while rates grow higher continuously. I would not rate The Addison as a BAD place to live, but you could do far better with your money.

I couldnt pay online, because their system crashed and wouldnt show me my total amount owed. They have a few visitor spots that are always filled up with residents cars, so it is impossible to have visitors without renting an additional parking spot. Residents dont follow the parking rules, but no punishments are given out as they are stated.Trash is all over the place. They havent figured out that the garbage men need to come more often, because there is constantly trash lying all over the ground and thrown everywhere.AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! I do not plan on renewing my lease, and wouldnt advise anyone to move in.They recently went through a management change and the process has been terrible. I became aware of this AMC acquired property today when I overheard a leasing agent at their other property near by. He was suggesting or recommending that they go to the Addison. I dont know the full details, I didnt hear the whole thing. I was just happy for the information. Autumn Chase and The Addison are owned by AMC management (I use that term loosely ) Sounds like same crap we deal with here, but you pay mire : garbage is deplorable and hazardous, and disgusting! The staff have no skills in customer service or how to run this place. in fact, I think your manager used to work here. This place used to be the premier place to be when Village Green owned the property. Past 4 yrs its gone downhill! Its disappointing. The responses to these comments and the yelps are just lip service. they wont change anything. Ive even gone so far as to give suggestions on how they could provide better customer service. All I want is some one to tell me I dont know but let me find out for you rather than I dont know or its so-and-so s job not mine.Maintenance follows same dance. Put in a work order to change garbage by dog run? They check it every day . Ummm no they dont!Ive attempted to contact AMC, as they have a link on their website to contact them. They claim to reply within 24 hours. Im still waiting. ... sent messages to them with concerns earlier this year.So you can tell why these communities are poorly managed. They have no leadership nor upper management who care to be responsible for or consider their residents (who pay way too much for this dump) and their desire to live in a clean, respectable, friendly community.BTW: do you have CAM fees at the Addison? They first telling me that the are repairing it. Then they said it was too expensive so they will buy a new one. Then they said they will replace it one the fitness room is remodeled. 6 months later, the fitness is still not remodel and there is no treadmill in the fitness center. The place is dirty. The garbage bins are constantly full and trash are all over the ground and very smelly. No one is usually there at the office, and if you called, all you get is voicemail most of the time. If you want to talk to someone you have to make several attempts to get a hold of someone.I called in to report that my faucet knob is broken and I have to used the bathroom sink for water. Id also let them know that my toilet is not flushing correctly and that I only have one bathroom. its been 5 days now and maintenance havent call me or I hear anything back from the property manager. This place here have a horrible parking rule and there is no parking space. If you have more than one car in your household, then you one car too many. I rent a one bedroom apartment and I have one car. But I rent two carport so that when I have girlfriend or guest come over they have a place to park. as a tenant you can park one car in a open space and if you have more then 2 cars, you have to get a carport. couple days ago, my someone park in one of my carport and my girlfriend had to park in the open space (less then 48 hours), they towed her car. now, if she park in a reserved spot or a handicapped place that you shouldnt park I can understand. but she was parking in an open spot that was available to all tenant. And the only reason why she park in a open space is because I just bought a new car and havent had time to sold my old car yet. here is insult to injury. previous I got a parking ticket because I was backing into my owned carport spot. the worse part is that at moment I got my parking ticket, there was a car park in my spot that is not mine. that car is not being tow or even given a ticket (not even a warning note). They do have security patrol here at night. However, they dont do anything. I see car park in handicapped space without a permit and they dont tow it or even give it a ticket. I understand why they park there because there is no parking space available. But I got a ticket for parking into my owned parking space that I paid for? how does that sound right? When is it a crime in the state of Washington to backed into a parking space or even in this country or any country? My lease is up in 4 months and I will be out of here. This place have some of this highest rent in the area. I understand sometime you get what you paid for, but this place is you paid, but gets nothing. The staffing are horrible when it comes to getting things done. This place is so bad that no one wants to work here. The staffs here are two girls who are in the early 20s and have no idea how to run a multi units complex. The property manager is someone who work at the complex for less then 6 months. As I am writing this review, my toilet is still not flushing correctly. I cant do a #2 at my owned apartment.
