Dr Johnson is the worst. I see other reviews about her. You can have her. Terrible experience every time I saw her. I even scheduled to avoid her, but this summer, stuck with her again. Horrible demeanor and always tried to steer me to expensive treatments. I literally walked out. I always enjoyed Dr. Love and Dr. Worth, so dont know what happened to this office. I found a new dentist in St. Pete, and no drama or BS.

I would highly recommend this dentist. My whole family has gone there for approximately 30 years and they have always been professional, excellent, and caring. I trust Dr. Diana Johnson completely and I have had great experiences with the other dentists there. The hygienists have changed a lot over the years, but they always are friendly, thorough, and professional. I especially like the way that the cleaning appointments run remarkably on time. The office staff has always been friendly and I get great service whenever I call. You can see why I havent changed dentists.

I am very impressed with the efficiency, kindness and genuine caring of the staff I have encountered at Friendly Smiles. I began seeing Dr. Johnson after a bad experience at another dentist and she has been wonderful and patient and understanding. I have been given awesome referrals when needed and received great care to date.

I went for my initial exam and cleaning yesterday and it could not have went better. Xrays were easy and they did not push me to do anything necessary. Gentle hygienist got my teeth clean without hurting me.

Ive never posted a review of anything before but my experience at this office deserves notice.I wanted to go to the office on waters avenue. I called and they were very sharp with me. The lady on the phone was so mean. Not just rude or unprofessional she was mean. So I stayed away. But I needed to go to the dentist because of my cancer. I had to get signed off before treatment. I was driving down Gunn and saw the friendly smiles sign again so I walked in to see if this office was kinder. All 3 of the girls at the desk stopped typing to smile at me and say hello. I said I had some questions to ask, and Tina jumped up to answer them. I think I talked to her for an hour! I told her I needed a gentle dentist because I will need extractions before my radiation treatment. She told me all about both her dentists so I could choose who was right for me. She explained what my visit would be like and helped me get approved by care credit because I dont have dental insurance. And the whole time the desk girls were just so sweet to me even though I was interrupting their work they treated me like a delightful visitor instead of a patient. They set the mood for the whole office and it was so warm and pleasant. The dentist kept coming to pull Tina away for the patients who were in the back and when she had to turn away one of the other girls just picked right up where she left off with me until she was back. Now I have an appointment, my paperwork is already done, I know how I will pay for my visits and treatment, and Im not scared. Send this desk team to waters avenue to teach them how it should be done. I wish I remembered all of their names but only Tina had a business card.

I went in today for a cleaning and informed the dental hygienist that I would need to know any procedures they were going to do beside a cleaning because I no longer have insurance and was doing self pay. I informed her that in pervious visits services were performed without letting me know and bill me later. The hygienist came back and stated that my cleaning was going to be $90+. I asked why since I come every three months and only paid $50 for my cleaning. She said since I do not have insurance I dont qualify for the insurance rate. I asked, so I have been coming here for 10 +years - every 3 months and because I have no insurance I have to pay more? That is did not make sense. I have no job since June and no insurance but they believe is acceptable to charge me more and refused to give me the insurance rate. How does this make sense? I have no job and have been a loyal customer and now have to pay more than I previously have to pay and all they said was that is the cost without insurance. What happen to the Hippocratic Oath? I could not believe this was happen. By the way, they said I had a balance of $28.00 that I need to pay because of a service I did not order. I let her lady in the from counter know that they were supposed to clear this up since I did not order the service. I went in for a cleaning and had an exam even though I was not due for one and now another bill. The have all my records and knew it had not been 6 month since my last exam. This is Extortion!

Short disclaimer I dont go here because they cant accept my insurance. But I called thirty places trying to find a dentist office to take my sons Medicaid plan. And I talked to some brutally unpleasant people during those calls. So Im reviewing all of them. But Friendly Smiles was so caring. The lady there answered the phone already laughing and stayed kind and helpful through our whole conversation. If she would spend that much time with me when I couldnt even be a patient then they must be truly great to patients in their care.

Ive gone here for many years. have had lots of cleanings, a filling, and crowns. Office staff is helpful and knowledgeable. Hygienists and assistants are understanding and friendly and Dr Love is great.

Great Experience! Went in for cleaning. First appointment was for consultation and x-rays. Second had cleaning performed. Everything went smooth and quick. 5 years ago went somewhere else and I went through 3 advanced cleaning with over $160 each time and they tried scheduling me in for a forth... and I said Im good! Friendly smiles took care of me without hassle and made it actually a pleasurable experience granted that everyone hates going to the dentist!

Dr. Johnson and her team are wonderful. I have always been very afraid of going to the dentist (like I cry in the lobby from fear afraid), but Dr. Johnson makes my visits warm and inviting, and has taken her time with me to make me more comfortable. The assistants and front desk are always friendly, and willing to be patient and slow with me and my anxiety.

Dr. Johnson is professional, efficient, but also patient and hospitable. She made me feel comfortable and cared for & took the time to answer all of my questions and made sure that I understood everything.

I went in on July 16th 2018 for a filling. Dr. Nyguen shows up never introduced himself or explained anything. Just said open wide and stuck me with a needle in the back of my mouth. No numbing gel or anything. Comes back in later to finish up. I’m shocked by his bedside manners and the fact he just stuck me with a needle with no explanation or numbing gel. Dr. Love is who I normally saw and was never told he left the practice. Dr. Love was amazing. This new dentist won’t be touching me ever again and it seemed the people at the front desk couldn’t care less. I have been going there for over 10 years and have never been treated this way by them or any other dentist I’ve seen in the past. Steer clear from this place. It isn’t what it used to be or anywhere close to it.

My Husband and I went to the Office on Gunn hwy in tampa and went there for a check up and cleaning. We were given a treatment plan. Each time we had a precedure done f rom that treatment plan we where ask to pay more than it stated on the treatment plan. This never happended to us with any other dentist offices and are very disapointed that they will not honor the treatment plan amount that they give their patients and just change their rates when ever they please to.

Dont get a crown from Dr. Johnson. Bad experience with the way they fit.
